I have been outside of the country and just got back with the aim of trying to get a wife.
Am I too old to expect to find a decent woman ?

The tory plenty but I'll stop here, this happened 4 yrs ago, I saw signs of obsession thinking it was 100% love and loyalty.

It's not just you, the morons in play thought the same thing. But life has a different plan.
It happens very very very rarely that they end up together.
Every girl in our secondary school involved in the lust, stupidity and lack of insight (what you call love) ended up marrying someone else.
Someone who could give them some security, ones their mates were lacking. Someone very older.
Now you will have the same problem, because u won't settle for someone you're financially more stable than or equal to.
The more wealth u have, the harder it becomes.

First of all, i know two of such couples personally that got married and i never stated that they always end up together, just how nice it will be to end up with your childhood love and the experience it offers. I caught on late and will rather not go into details about the possible domino effect right now(good and bad).
Again, i do not regret it, call me greedy for wanting it all, making my choice but not wanting to pay the price but i do not regret my choices.

Teenage love makes a lot of sense, sometimes I do recount those silly things we did all in. the name of love.
I always prefer it to the kind of dating we do as adults, back then you can love a girl for silly reasons, the love you shared as a teenager to me is purer than what we do as adults, I would be regretting if I didn't experience it.

This is what I know I missed. I am truly grateful for where i am today but I know people who indulged and have done very well for themselves and a few that didn't but mostly, they turned out alright. What's interesting is that among my childhood friends, there are more single ladies in the good girls club right now than there are in the teenage love club.

Hmmm........there is this guy who avoided relationship like it is leprosy. He focused fully on academics and eventually he is now very, very successful in business. His lack of experience with women has caused him HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE now that he is married to a lady who used his nativity to her advantage. She pretended to be such a good holy girl only to realise that, hmmmhmmm..........and for that reason his heart aches at all times after being married, for he couldn't spot the damage goods from the undamaged ones. His thinking was that, since he is not a womanizer he is going to end up with a CHASTE BEAUTIFUL WOMAN.

But life doesn't work that way.

Tell me about it! I went through this too! I thought i was smart and cause i used to give my friends relationship advice that worked, i will be alright.
Fa-Fa-Fa-Fowl! When i just started dating, i was so inexperienced for my age that I made silly mistakes, i wasn't even sure how relationships worked in practical. I eventually caught up but not after i had made mistakes I should have made earlier on.

I hope you don't. I don't regret it also but a part of me wish I experienced it(I am not talking about sex). My advice, if you find true love, take it and enjoy it, might not last but who knows, it just might last.

Reminds me of the day a guy I don't know from Adam called out my name at a marketplace, the one I am called by my family and close friends at home and not even the one my school friends used to call me. I was shocked but he was cute and it gave me butterflies, he even gave me my house address and the name of my siblings. Now that I'm older I understand how creepy it is . Just be careful though, might be a harmless guy crushing on you like mine or a crazy stalker

I know this is more of a male thing, avoiding relationships before you are financially stable but i had that mindset growing up that boys in my peer group had nothing to offer me and i wanted to find myself before i started dating so I didn't truly date until much later. I'm still in my 20s now and able to cater for my needs, and while the problem isn't someone to date, i truly envy those who got to experience teenage/adolescent love. It is difficult(not impossible) to love or find love like that as one grows older and loses a lot of that innocence. I don't regret my choices to where i am today but it would have been nice to have indulged in innocent teenage love and even better if we managed to grow and make it to adulthood together. Is this just me?

I used to think like this but now i am a more mature Christian and my faith is actually stronger due to some understanding, you might not understand also. Nonessentials? I hope you know that it's okay to enjoy life pass the essentials. In fact it's ironic I have to point that out here given what the thread is about. sharing in love and hurt is what makes life what it is. How do you understand Joy without understanding pain? Understanding both is essential In life.

I couldn't wait to leave Lagos and now i miss it so much, i do believe the next time i visit my brain will reset and i get reminded why i left in the first place just like it happened the last couple times I left and returned, still... I miss Lagos.

Not bad! A lot of the landmarks remind me of the hours spent in traffic there though.
