ANOTHER ARGUMENT BASED ON IGNORANCE
You guys don't know what we want and the agreement with govt you don't become a consultant base on union activities rather you become a consultant base on educational qualification
Abi my brother....but these are doctors posting na...they are learned...a consultant nurse will only be a consultant in her field, and not in d medical field,no sane person will consult a nurse for a surgery, cos that's not the job description of a nurse but a surgeons, but one can consult a nurse on services involving nursing, and so theirs will be different entirely from that of a medical doctor.. so why d vendetta?
HealthRe: All Health Workers Can Now Be Consultants-fg by sikells(m): 12:07pm On Nov 14, 2014
Adebee2014:
Good,
We will now have consultant pharmacist, and consultant pharmacy technician, consultant CHEW, consultant nurse assistant and endless list. Has anybody thought about definition of consultancy?. What is d implications in a confused populace where even the carpenter who works in the hospital is called a doctor!. How many of u will take your child to consultant nurse for surgery, it will noe begin to happen because our mothers in the village who understands little will be confused!. A consultant is a final advisor or authority! Then will have many final authorities in management of same patients. The consultant doctor gives orders to the nurse to use honey to treat his patient but consultant nurse is oga too, so she says no, and tells junior nurse to use eusol!, who suffers? The patient.
The doctor prescribes a drug for the patient he has been managing for years, and the pharmacist only dispense, but know they will want to change the drugs because they are now final authority in pharmacy without even knowing the details about the patient!!!!!! Who suffers?
When you put stupid people in gov. You get stupid circulars, and NIGERIANS suffer. Why consultants now? It is because of the specialist allowance not because they know better than the doctor.
While it takes the doctor 4-6 six extra years to become specialist, these allied health worker want to call themselves specialist after 6 months CME.
Abroad, there are no consultant nurses or pharmacist in the HOSPITALS, they only work in elderly homes where there are no permanent doctors. So they call them consultants when pharmacist are called to monitor drugs.
don't make conflicting points,if only they will agree to work together, then each of them will know about what their job entails, and the nurse will not go ahead to do d Job of a doctor neither will d pharmacist...

PetroDolla3:
the last time I checked, there was only one country whose citizens ate from the dustbin and it wasn't Ghana

maggot, since when did having discussions with the IMF amount to "going round the globe"

The nigerian’s problem starts from birth. Hahahahaha nurses use torchlight to deliver babies in that sh1thole! No wonder they suffer all forms of deformities and brain dysfunction! Chei, these modafakas are indeed a disgrace to mother Africa.https://www.nairaland.com/1282283/nurses-use-mobile-phone-torchlights#15605877

Hahahah no wonder Soyinka described your sh1thole as the open sore of Africa.

Keneking:
The budget around the commissioning of this stadium is too much ...even on youtube. I am sure this is the final way to clean (uncommon transformation / uncommon looting) the treasury ahead of 2015.Even the National Stadium in Abuja built by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at N63billion did not receive this kind of attention.

Anyway, lets wait for Rivers State to commission its own ultra-modern world class stadium soon.

JonaTAN must just go.
the way things are now in dix country, even if d FG was to become successful in ensuring steady electricity, nigerians will still find one or two things to complain about...na by then u go dey hear people dey complain say dem don tire for d light..make PHCN dey cease d light as usual

Oh! You have to wait till you are in 200L. You start receiving bursary from your year2. But before then, you need to join the Nadesstu meeting in school so you will be well informed when it starts. They'v also got this bbm and whatsapp group chat incase you have any questions. Normal meeting holds every thursday in Rm 402, faculty of arts. Try to attend atleast once in a while.

EducationRe: The "BIG" Gap Between Engineering And Medical Students! by sikells(m): 3:16pm On Oct 07, 2014
nobilis:
I'm sorry to say but this is a really useless post.
It is this kind of comparison that is causing this friction between doctors and other health workers in public hospitals. You only look at the remuneration.

Now look at this:
1. When medical students study very hard during UTME and post-UTME aptitude tests in order to gain admission into universities, where were the engineering students? At least, we all know that the cut-off mark for Medicine is always higher than that of Engineering.

OP, did you protest that there is a lot of "GAP" in the admission requirements between the two courses of study?

No. You didn't.

2. When you go on end-of-semester breaks and the medical students remain in school (with no hopes of breaks), studying and doing their hospital postings, OP, did you protest that medical students are working in school while you're having the time of your life on Holz? Obviously you didn't.

3. When engineering students fail exams, they carry the courses over to the next session, while when medical students fail exams (depending on the degree of failure), they may have to drop a class and repeat the whole session.
OP, did you protest that you guys should be permitted to drop classes when you fail exams?
No, you didn't.

4. When you graduate after 5 years of study, and the medical students you gained admission with are still groaning under the weight of one professional exam or the other, did you protest that you should be made to spend more years in school? No, you didn't. You graduated with joy and happiness.

But now, you're protesting that doctors and health workers are treated more specially than engineers during NYSC years. Isn't that greed and injustice? You want Abraham's blessings to be yours but you don't want Abraham's sufferings and hardwork to be yours.
when it comes to cut-off marks, the cut-off for medical students is usually very high because of the plenty aspirants that usually apply for medicine and off course NMA has given a directive on the amount of students that should be admitted, which is usually very small...and so a higher cut-off is required to eliminate alot of aspirants, compared to engineering that dont get that much attention by aspirants as medicine
