I'm not one to come and discourage people to tell them the dangers of the job cos most of these officers that are in service only really discovered the real dangers of the job after they were commissioned. So please if you feel you can do this, carry on and apply and if you get to a point where you can't take it anymore, drop honorably....all these crusaders screaming they have the passion and are asking you to deregister is because they think it would give them a better chance if lesser people apply...Sometimes, you discover true power when you are put in certain situations...passion is key but never put anybody down cos you think it'll help you get in..The 3 guys and 1 lady that made it in my state just applied casually and we were the ones convincing them to stay and not leave the screening...now they are gallant as anything..cracked and Packard. This is an individual race, if it's yours, nothing can stop you from getting it....so guys apply, and hopefully meet again in Kaduna for the second trial.

So people that pass the BP stage and ain't knocked out don't pass through the same stress.

Biko, make us understand your point better

Also, no phones.....how??
Those guys that snap selfie and post are smugglers shey??
No phones, no outside communication, etc
selfies were taken the day we were disqualified or before entering the gate for the commencement of screening...and people that passed it are just stronger, lucky or simple, it was their time.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by sikowitz17: 10:38am On Sep 13, 2019
People be giving different advice on how-to on how to drop bp levels...
1st thing...the issues mostly arrises from nda stress, so all the eat fruits and listen to music that you are saying is funny.
all the advice you've given cannot work because of the conditions we would be subjected to in the screening.
no phones, no fruits, only nda water and jugging

If you like, disturb yourself for certificate and pay big money...if you won't get in, you won't...money that you save to use and buy good jungle boot and kits..you wan go do certification...the most important document to join the military with is your degree....all others apart for some can always be overlooked...people no get am and dem Don dey work connect again.
Person go know chief of army staff now, dem go send am back cos he no get tcrn...lol

There is something you guys aren't factoring...according to the 2017 hatcos of the military, I believe promotion to different ranking is now 5 years...for rc, SSC and dssc.. Course 44 guys are still 2nd lieutenants oooo...and its almost been 3 years since they passed out..if they get their promotion now, it should be 5 years interval now...which means majority will be retired as majors.. Upon conversion ehn ehn.. We can now talk lieutenant colonel/colonels...some lucky village men will.make brig..

grin grin grin please don't kill us here with laugh.
I guess the gentleman haven't read through the thread. I employ to do so. Trust me, this thread is actually one of the best I've read recently, despite my schedules, I was able to finish it faster than I had imagined. It'll do you a great service to read through everything because you'll be armed with information to the point you can also give advice and counsel others here.
Back to your question.
Army don't write any exams.
Registration-screening-training.
However screening is done randomly because a lot of qualified candidates would be applying too, but you know this is Nigeria, anything can happen ( I pray the best happens to all of us here). During screening, your credentials would be vetted to weed out those that forge or having anomalies in their certificate(s). After then comes the 3.2km run in 18mins, push ups, sit ups and then obstacle crossing I guess huh Followed by medicals where would be checked if you're physically fit and healthy enough for the job then your exams mainly objectives and an essay where would be asked to write about "why I want to join the army". Follow by screening by NASB.
PS; the order of the process of the screening might not be correct, but those are basically the activities you'll do if called upon.
NB: information I gave here is subject to any change from MS since I don't work there or know anyone there. But this is how they've conducted their last 2-3 recruitment based on knowledge I acquired from this thread.
you actually write exams during the screening... Its just meaningless...I remember lalo telling us when we were a lot starting our exams in the old site... I quote..just pass credentials and medicals..you'd get in..but then again, that time, they were looking for numbers..nobody was sent home for exams.....plus after credential screening and exams, its medicals straight...that comes before anything... If you fail it, forget 3.2km and obstacle crossing cos you are going home

I may likely stand to disagree on this though, from the information we received from a Nairalander, afsb for dssc is at Ibadan and also ec own is at Ibadan. Another Nairalander said EC own is from 10-14 November, and DSSC will be on that same ground before them. I think the afsb will run through d second week of Oct to d end. And training may commence ending or early December this year. Thanks
okay but I disagree with resumption for December... Training is 9 months and pop is most likely October..so January
There's only one break for the period of training for SSC... Easter break (2 weeks) so they can't resume in December and go home for Christmas and new year..
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by sikowitz17: 2:15pm On Sep 07, 2019
My ideanon the timeline for army screening..
Closes 28 of September.. So September is gone..
NDA passing out for 5th so first week of October is ruled out...
One week for maybe peeping newly commissioned officers..
So I'm guessing first list will come out 3-4th week of October...
Screening will be 1-2 week of November and there might be a 2 week break where we won't hear anything...
Final list will be out 1-2nd week of December and resumption for cadet training, 2nd week January..

What do you think?
This is Just a rough estimate ooo..before nairaland warriors come and chop my head..

Hello guys, I have a question to ask. I registered for DSSC, but now wish to convert to SSC. How possible is it for me since there's no double registration? Actually I had a change of heart having gone through some information and know the difference between DSSC, SSC and RC.
Thank you.
even after contacting support, let's know the outcome but I doubt if you'd be able to change it now..except if you are offered SSC like some people were in January

I had a chat with some officers when we went for SSC screening in January and it was speculated that promotions might be 5 years for officers now irrespective of commissioning... My course 44 friends are still 2nd lieutenants and its be almost 4 years now...you can verify...I have a Whatsapp group with 4 of them present....I hope to see you guys in afaka..we will need each other to survive cos when I told my course 44 friends that we might be training there he said the phrase "oh my mama" would be my best friend cos they will beat it out of us...and if they ask us to come with hockey stick, our own is finished.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by sikowitz17: 11:21pm On Aug 30, 2019
First thing...irrespective of the fact that we will be training in afaka, and terma 1 would even chaose us...it'll only be for a couple of months...SSC is usually mates with terms 3 that's why out of the SSC cadets, some would be selected to be cadet Sargents..a rank specific to terms 3 cadets..so if terms 1 and 2 will do anything, it'll only be for resumption of cadet training...
2nd thing, there's been chatter that promotions have changed and its even affected regulars too so there's a slight chance that we might senior terma 3 like some people speculated here..not sure about that and
3...Terma 2 can't hang captain before you..they'd be spending 3 more years in the academy and be spending 1 year as 2nd lieutenant and another 4-5 on full lieutenant... You'd be way above them...

Just a reminder, if you have a good paying job, a federal Civil Service job or any other, I won't advice you to apply don't forget DSSC and SSC is 15yrs without extension that's if you failed to convert and conversion is also based on availability so the moment you make it start planning like you won't convert.

The level of man-know-man in the DSSC recruitment is far higher than that of the SSC (except the DSSC is going for the medical field).my course 44 friends said conversion is almost automatic for SSC cadets now adays..especially for those serving in the northeast... There's a chance you'd get to convert..if its your own, you'd get it

Again don't leave a good paying job for the army in the name of passion, transfer that your passion to your Job.
