Kobojunkie: IGNORANCE!
God never commanded that kind of fasting to begin with - starvation diets - no! The kind of fasting God instead commands of those who belong to Him is the one described in Isaiah 58 and that does not require you starve your body or beat your body up for any reason. Instead what God commands is a day spent taking the burden off of other people etc. There are examples of this type of fast. 1. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. Jonah 3:7 NKJV 2. David therefore pleaded with God for the child, and David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground. So the elders of his house arose and went to him, to raise him up from the ground. But he would not, nor did he eat food with them.II Samuel 12:16-17 NKJV God didn't command this to them in this verses but people have been going on this type of fast and has brought results for them. Now to Isa 58, I would say God was just telling them, see, fasting is good but don't fast and return to your former ways. Because our walk with God supercede every other thing. And he delight more in how we live our lives. And if you check, fasting in those days was carried out more when they were suffering from a plague especially after they had sinned or an imminent war was coming from a great foe. I'm neither encouraging nor discouraging anymore from this kind of fast but for an ulcer patient, you need to be sure that's what God ask of you or deep your yearning for God intervention requires it. Nevertheless, you need a spiritual mentor in this case because despising your medical history can/will kill you. |

Nellyfrancis157: Do you think some Christians are overeacting or Ignorant? For example, a christian suffering from chronic ulcer decides to dry fast for 3 days. IS THIS IGNORANCE OR FAITH To say you're exercising faith, there must be an action or series of action of what you're doing now that correspond with your desired end. What I see is that most Christians exercise faith without asking the Holy Spirit how to go about it. There must a clear direction and instructions from Him before you start exercising faith so, you don't do it amiss outside the will of God. |

rowlex7: Happy Sunday my fellow Christians currently I am not earning but I still get little stipends from people around me, is it wrong for me not to deduct my tithe from it. Thanks I await your response No. If you must it should be from gifts etc that was giving to you. Tithing is essentially 10% of your income so, if you don't have income you shouldn't pay. If you have the urge to give then it should be bountiful offering, or sow a seed. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor David Ibiyeomie Vs Kemi Olunloyo: Forgiveness Is Unnegotiable. Fasterwell by silentshots: 6:30am On Apr 01, 2017 |
fasterwell: Every true christians should know that forgiveness is a vital and unnegotiable virtue we must possess and express at all time no matter the circumstance we may find ourselves in.
Mark 11:25-26 says
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 5:23-24
l23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
The above Scriptures were the exact words of Our Lord Jesus Christ on the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation. The Master said even if we are praying and remember we have not forgiven someone who offended us, that we should forgive such person immidately so we also can be forgiven by the Father. He also said if we brought gift(s) to the Father and remembered we have an unsettle matter with someone, He said we should drop the gift(s) at the alter, go and make peace with such person first before returning to offer the gift(s).
Our Lord Jesus Christ categorically told His disciples that they shall suffer persecution just like Him
Hear Him
John 15:20
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
I want us to note that the persecution mentioned above wasn't referring to having large congregations that pays huge tithes and offerrings, living a luxury life with fleets of exotic cars and private jets. Neither was He referring to your church members singing your praise but it includes Kemi Olunloyo accusing Pastor David Ibiyeomie of having a side chic called Actress Iyabo Ojo etc.
No matter the level of persecution we may face, we were already told to forgive our adversary. It is not in our nature as christians to arrest and prosecute anyone no matter what they did to us rather the Bible said in
1 Peter 2:12
Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
Forgiveness is the key and forgiveness is the way to everlasting salvation. Our Lord Jesus Christ forgave and prayed for those who crucified Him. Stephen before he gave up the ghost, also forgave and prayed for those who stoned him to death.
James 1:2 said
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
Acts 5:41
The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.
CONCLUSION.
If you know Pastor David Ibiyeomie, help me tell him that he MUST FORGIVE, RECONCILE WITH KEMI OLUNLOYO AND MAKE SURE SHE IS HAPPY OR ELSE GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE HIM FOR ARRESTING AND IMPRISONING KEMI OLUNLOYO. HE MUST DO IT FOR HIS OWN GOOD.
PEACE! Nigerians and hypocrisy... when she was writing those destructive articles none of u called her to order... He sued her for libel which is his legal right.... everyone now is saying he should forgive... u would do worst should it be you... and stop preaching Nigeria morality |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Effects Of Britain Leaving The EU by silentshots: 4:16pm On Jun 24, 2016 |
theoneJabulani: The process of leaving the EU will take years
A Brexit vote is not legally binding, and there are a few ways it could theoretically be blocked or overturned. However, as the BBC notes, "it would be seen as political suicide to go against the will of the people as expressed in a referendum." Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union establishes the procedures for a member state to withdraw from the EU. It requires the member state to notify the EU of its withdrawal and obliges the EU to then try to negotiate a withdrawal agreement with that state. A Brexit vote, however, does not represent that formal notification. That notification could take place within days — for example, when EU member countries meet for a summit that is scheduled for June 28 to 29. Or British officials might wait a few months to pull the trigger. Once Britain invokes Article 50, it will have a two-year window in which to negotiate a new treaty to replace the terms of EU membership. Britain and EU leaders would have to hash out issues like trade tariffs, migration, and the regulation of everything from cars to agriculture. In the best-case scenario, Britain may be able to negotiate access to the European market that isn’t that different from what it has now. Norway is not a member of the EU, but it has agreed to abide by a number of EU rules in exchange for favorable access to the European Common Market. This is democracy, the will of the people yet we can't hold a poll for Biafra smh |

JAZES: To look at some of the throwback photos of our celebrities is to confront the saying that nobody is born ugly, just broke.
While there are a few celebrities whose throwback photos are adorable and awww-worthy, there are some whose old photos should be completely kept away from fans and the media.
1. Don Jazzy Doroboss! We love that Don Jazzy ditched the baggy pants for a suit and bow tie to become a Don instead.
Clap for Jesus someborri!
2.Toke Makinwa When the below (Left) throwback photo of Toke Makinwa hit the internet few months back…Many didn’t believe that was Toke Makinwa! Could that slim, dark skinned lady really be Toke Makinwa? I don’t even know… The OAP doesn’t only look exceptionally stunning today but has gotten more curvaceous and sexy compared to back then.
3. Davido This rugged-looking teenager has become a fine young man, but then, when you have $100 million in your account , looking good is the least of your worries. http://www.onlineleaks247.com/index.php/2016/06/10/8-nigerian-celebrity-throwback-photos-that-proves-that-nobody-is-born-ugly-just-broke/ I still get hope be that |
