I am not partisan in Nigeria politics neither am I a Igbo hater and I am Igbo. I came across a post on twitter by a Yoruba commentator about Peter Obi which sparked anger in me. The tweet goes like this:

I think sometimes Nigerians only comment without understanding but out of emotions just say things without thinking it through. All the southern governors met and ratified that presidency should return to the south. They did not state that the presidency should go to southeast or southwest all they said was south. Now the rational thing that should happen is to at least vote a southerner in the primaries even if you won't vote Wike whether it's a southwest or southeast candidate. How do you now explain Southern governors from the eastern states who not only did not vote Wike but openly supported Atiku in the primaries.
If that's not betrayal to the south I don't know what it is then.

Again, God never commanded that kind of fasting to begin with - starvation diets - no! The kind of fasting God instead commands of those who belong to Him is the one described in Isaiah 58 vs 1 - 13 and that does not require you starve your body or beat your body up for any reason. Instead what God commands is a day spent taking the burden off of other people etc.

The only way to honor God is by doing that which He actually commanded of you and the only place God gave explicit commands to you regarding the fasting He wants from you is in Isaiah 58 vs 1 - 13 where He made it overtly clear He does not care for you starving your bodies in His Name. Learn to obey God rather than your egos!
