THE CROWD WATCH AS ANNABEL WAS QUICKLY CARRIED ON THE CAR AND THE DRIVER SPEEDILY DROVE THE CAR OUT OF THE PREMISES ...

the noisy crowd murmured words to themselves wondering who could have pushed her from upstairs....
Some people began to leave putting a close to the reception party.....

"What could have made her fall....? Bianca ask as she watched the crowd trooping out of the hall gate......

The crowd divided themselves into groups each telling their own story.....

Zara jut her chin..., she swallowed and shift her gaze to Bianca..... "Can we go home now.....?

Bianca scan her eyes around..... Her eyes fell on the decorations, the wines, the different types of food....
She chulkled when she saw some group of boys and women carrying foods and hiding wines in a bag.....
She was inclined to carry one also....

"Hello.... "Zara said snapping her finger on her face....

"Everything is just going to go to waste.... "Bianca said

"And whose fault is it....?Zara snapped..... "The bride wasn't careful, so she fell from up.... "

"She screamed before she fell, someone must have pushed her.... "

"Did you see anyone there beside her.... ?

"We didn't really see her, we saw her falling.... ,do you think she will survive....., that fall was terrible...."

"Am not God that can decide if she survives or not....."

"I really felt pity for her you know..., she's going to die on her own wedding day..... "

"She isn't dead yet...... "Zara said

"She's at the verge of death,,with those pieces of bottles on her body,that much blood..., i don't think she will survive...."

Breathing heavily, Jacob pace around the lobby as Annabel almost gone body was rolled into the emergency room.....

"What happened....? Chief Buzo blared out..

Jacob pants.... "I don't know Dad...., i heard people screaming the bride is dead.., so i ran there and found her lying in pool of broken bottles and blood..... "

Just then the rest of the chiefs,Pious and Giselle came in.....

"How did this happen..., how could she have fall from upstairs.....? Buzo ask anxiously.... Totally concerned about his grandchild....

"Is she alright..... ?Carlos ask as he got to where he was standing....

"What happened.....? Chief Ayu ask..

"How did she fall...? Chief Azuka ask..

"Was she pushed... ?Chief Joseph added..

"I don't know what happened.... "Jacob raved irritated...... "People saw her falling and they screamed...

"Someone must have pushed her then..... "Pious interjects.....

"People don't just fall callously from from up..... "Chief Marcus added....

"Am with Mr Ferico,someone must have pushed her..... "Chief Azuka added

"I don't understand, why would someone do that to a bride on her wedding day...? Chief Buzo ask...

"Jealousy.... "Chief Ayu cut in....... "A jealous lover must have done that.... "

"I susgest we check the security footage..... "Chief Marcus added

"You are right chief Marcus.... "Chief Joseph intoned..... "The security footage should be checked immediately, if it's true someone pushed her, that person must be apprehended...... "

Chief Buzo and Jacob rushed to the doctor's side as he came out from the emergency room......

"Where is my sister.....? John shouted from behind them but no one bothered to answer him

"Where is my sister.... "John shouted again paving his way into the emergency room...

"Calm down young man...... "The doctor said

"Calm down..!my sister is in there..., at the verge of death, i need to see her.... "

"You can't go in now.... "The doctor said

"How is she doctor...? Chief Buzo ask

"How is my wife.....? Jacob ask anxiously,a gleen of sweat sheen down from his brow

The doctor jut his chin wondering how he was going to break the news....

"How is my sister.... ?John boom out furiously...

Infuriated at John outburst, the doctor broke the news....... "Am sorry we lost her....."

"What....! John muttered with clenched teeth, voice clipped...

"What do you mean we lost her....? Jacob ask immediately

"She lost a lot of blood before you brought her in here, her organs were damaged by the broken bottles and glasses that pierce inside her, we try to revive her, am sorry we lost her...... "

"You lost my sister....."John raved as he hold the doctor's shirt...... "You lost my sister... "He burst out in tears.....

The other chiefs began to hold him, freeing his grip from the doctor's shirt.....

"Am sorry... "The doctor said crisply....

"What about the baby, how is the baby...? Chief Buzo ask

"Baby...!, the doctor muttered shocked...... "She wasn't pregnant.... "

"What....? Buzo muttered in disbelief

Shock swept through Jacob.... "No doctor you must be mistaken, she is pregnant... "

"No she isn't, if she had, we would have known..... "

Anger slowly made it's way into Buzo, with a fierce energy, he turn to face Jacob then he punched him hard on the face....

The punched sent Jacob off balance as he staggered backward almost falling from the effect of the unexpected blow....

John Quickly rushed into the room to meet his dead sister.....

"You slowpoke... "Chief Buzo growled..... "You tricked me..... "

"I didn't father, i didn't trick you...... "Jacob said with shaking mouth.... "She.. She.. Sheee, she tricked us.., she told me she was pregnant, the DNA test proved that... "

"You are a fool.... "Chief Buzo yelled....... "You allow her outsmart you...."He quickly walk to his side about to pounce on him but the rest of the chiefs hold him....

With folded fist, he glare at Jacob...... "I regret the day i gave birth to you......, you bring nothing but disgrace to me.... "

"I didn't know, i thought......

"Just shut up.... "Chief Buzo hollered....... "You let a woman get under your skin.. You let a woman deceived you..... ,you've done nothing but bring dishour and shame to this family......, your mother will be weeping on her grave...... "

With those last words, he turn around and begIn to leave,the rest of the chiefs followed him....

Pious walk to Jacob's side....... "My condolence...... "

Jacob stare at him, he widen his eyes in disbelief...., he look exactly like the dead prince.....
He watch as Pious turn around and left with Giselle........
"Pious......., Ferico Carter...."
He keep staring at him until he left the lobby.....

That anger that has eluded him before, came running back, infuriated, he went inside the emergency room......

He became more furious when he saw her dead body lying on the bed.......

"Did you know she wasn't pregnant....? He ask John...

John glared at him...... "You are the reason my sister is dead..... "

"Did you know......? Jacob raved....

"Yes i knew..... "John yelled back more tears bursting out of his eyes.......

Eyes sparkling anger, Jacob threw a punch at him....

The blow collided with John cheekbone,infuriated,he punched him back....

Jacob went ballistic.. Rage driving him mad, he dive at John and they clatters on the hospital bed....

The hospital bed tumble and Annabel dead body fall hard to the ground.....

"Security...... "The nurses shouted.....

With those words she step outside With Gerald..., Bianca with her high heel following her....

She was about to go outside when she saw Desmond and Claude coming in........

"Someone has done something despicable to my son..... "she yelled.... dropping Gerald who was still crying on the floor....

Desmond didn't bother to reply he just kept moving forward then she pushed him back.....
"Am talking to you Desmond... "

"Look here woman, we are just coming back from a party that ended badly with a corpse, we need to rest, so get yourself and your problems out of our way..... "Desmond retorted...

"You think i have a problem..."She scoffs.... She quickly showed him Gerald reddened wrist...... "Someone did this to my son.... "

"Your son could have done that to himself, you both speak the same language..... "

"Am not taking this Desmond...., since i got here, I've been quiet, someone must have mistaken my quietness for something else.... "

"Then leave...... "Desmond interjects... "Leave this palace.... "

"Oh my God...."Claude muttered as she saw Gerald wrist..... "Who could have done this to him.....?

"I want all the guards, maids and servants to be summoned, Gerald is going to point that person out, whoever it is will suffer my own way..... "

"Am doing no such thing..... "Desmond said

"Would you be silent if it had been your daughter...... ?Bianca cut in...

"Just do as she says... "Claude interjects..... "Whoever did this to a little child needs to be punished..... "

The gaurds, the maids and the servants all stood in two lines.... Each wondering the reason for the sudden meeting........

Desmond sat on the throne and Claude sat on the queen chair.......

Zara quickly look at Gerald.... "Can you point who did this to you.....?

Gerald nodded shabbily

Zara hold him as they begin to walk from person to person....

Taka frown his face as he watch Gerald shook his head in the front of each person he passes.....

Gerald got to a point and he stood...

"Don't be scared Gerald, show me who did this to you.... "Zara said....

"Gerald... "Bianca said walking to him.... "You've to show us who did to you, so that person will be punished okay...."

Gerald nodded and move to the next person...

"Is he the one....? Zara ask pointing at a guard...

Francis jut his chin wondering who could have beaten such a little boy.......

Gerald shivered as he saw Taka....., Taka's eyes scared him making him shift back to hold his mother........

"Gerald...,don't be scared, tell mummy who the person is.... "Zara said

fear ripped him as he meet Taka's gaze again........ slowly he began to point towards Taka's direction..... "Him..... "He said with shaking mouth......

"Him...... "Zara said.......

Gerald nodded......

"How dare you do that to my son....... "Zara raved...

Shock swept through Francis........ "I didn't do anything to him...... "

"My son pointed you..... "Zara yelled,then she pushed him out from the line...... "That's the bastard who did this vile thing to my son..

"I didn't do anything....... "Francis said in defence..... "I didn't do anything to him... "

Desmond sigh.... "Boy, is this the boy....?

Gerald kept quiet shaking...

"Did i do this to you...? Francis ask....

Gerald glance at Taka......then to Francis

"I demand he's flogged and sacked from this palace..... "Zara snarled....

"That's absurd..... "Claude interjects........ "He couldn't have done it.... "

"I trust him...., he's not capable of that...... "Claude said standing up

"Enough Zara..... "Claude snarled........ "Your son must be mistaken, he didn't it.... "

"Mistaken.........!, My son knew exactly who did that to him and he pointed him out.......,This peasant here injured my son.... "

"He didn't do it.......? claude raved......

"My son said it, and that's final, he must be flogged and sack...... "

"I trust Francis.......... "Claude blared out impetuously....

Francis poke his eyes out.......

"I called you an hour ago..... "

Tessy snort.... "There was traffic on the way.... "

"I told you before, i was at a friend's place... "She snapped

He unfold the paper, fear grip him as he read the words in the paper boldly written in capital letter..... 'STAY AWAY FROM HER, I WON'T WARN YOU AGAIN... '

leonard collected the paper from him, he look at the back to see if there was any information relating to the writer......

"Her.....!, who do you think is her.....? Leonard boom out

"STOP THE CAR... "THE BLACK MAN HOLLERED WHEN THEY GOT TO A LONELY ROAD........

Heart beating rapidly, the taxi man stopped the engine.........

"Come out...."The black man said....... "Now... "

Fear striken, Sharon quickly open the car door forgetting to pick up her phone that fell on the car floor........

With the gun still pointed at her the black man came down......
He quickly turn to face the taxi driver........."What do i do to you....?

Fear engulfed the taxi man.... "Oga abeg let me go, i swear i nor see anything..... "The taxi man whimpered.....

"Do you know the problem Nigerians have....? The black man ask...

"I don't know sir..... "The taxi man said in fear...

"Nigerians lie alot, so unfortunately i don't trust you......"

"Please sir, i will not anyone what i saw today..... "The taxi man pleaded... Tears slowly making it's way out of his eyes....

The black man sniff..... "If you tell anyone what you saw today, i will find you and i will kill you....... ,now get your scrab out of here...... "

The taxi quickly started the engine and drove off without hesitation......

Sharon couldn't move, she thought of running but can she.... ?

The blackman didn't reply,instead,he pulled her to himself and began to gagged her mouth...

Sharon gasp for breathe but non came, that moment, she drown into an oblivon of unconsciousness.......

The DPO adjusted himself as he look at her, he wasn't still convinced the girl was truly missing......,though she hasn't been found dead, and her friends believe someone has taken her.....
"So tell me, do you have any idea who this sun is.....?

Mary clipped her teeth, then a low grunt followed....."I have no idea... "

"But you believe this sun, whoever he is might have something to do with her disappearance......?

"It's a possibility sir, sun is behind this...... "

"Was any other thing found in the car beside the teddy bear that has sun as a tag.....

Mary exhales as she began to recall..... "There was nothing, her laptop wasn't brought back.... "

The DPO reclined his back on the chair...... "I see....., well from everything you and your friends has told so far, it all pin down to one thing, she's been abducted ........"

"Searching for her will be difficult since whoever has her is leaving no trace or clue.... "He gritted... "But i assure you, we will do our best to make sure your friend is back home.... "

The words gave her hope, maybe with the help of the police, they will find Manny soon....

Hands shaking, heart beating rapidly, the taxi man stopped the car when he noticed he wasn't concentrating.....

He took a deep breathe as he brood over what happened earlier......

He shudder at the thought of something worse happening......

He shivered when Sharon's phone began to ring in the backseat of the car..........

Fear stroked him, he look out from the side mirror if anyone was coming.........

He swallowed hard when he saw one car and the car eventually drove passed him.....

Hands trembling.. Body quivering, he shift his body to the backseat of the car, then he saw the phone underneath the chair......

Eyes twitching,he pick up the phone, he recall the warning the black man has given him......

He quickly drop the phone back on the chair.....
He sigh, a sigh of relief, tinge with hard breathe and dangerous fear overwhelming him...

The phone rang to a stop, then it started ringing again.....
He swallow, bit his lips, almost hard that he almost wince......

He thought of the good he will be doing if he pick up the call and tell whoever was calling that the girl has been kidnapped.....

He insufflate, sucking in all the air he can get......
With a make up mind and a thin layer of fear, he pick up the phone, he glance at the caller...... It was Mary....

He hesitated a bit, what happened earlier creep it's way back into his head sending him cold feet and a jarring powered fear of loosing his life.......

He swallowed, weigh the pros and cons of the decision he was about to make...., he thought of his mother, his only sister who will miss him if he answers this call and the killer come for him as he had warned..........

He knit his brows, he was drowning in confusion......, just then the thought of saving a life run speedily into his head....

He sniff, crocked his throat and quickly answer the call......

"Where are you....? Mary ask immediately....

The taxi man didn't reply at first, the possible consequences of what he was doing hit him hard....

"Sharon..... "Mary's voice came again.....

The taxi man squeaked......."Your friend left her phone on my taxi..... "

"What....., how can she do that.... ?Mary ask, shock stroked in her tone....

The taxi man kept quiet, wondering how he was going to break the news....... "Someone kidnapped her..... "He said with clenched teeth....

"Oh my God....... !Mary exclaimed..... "How did it happen, who kidnapped her....?

The taxi man sniff..... "I don't know o..., they both entered my taxi, the man pointed a gun at us, he manage to let me go and he took her.... "

With anger running through Taiwo, he punched Pope....

The punch sent Pope off balance, before he could face him back, Taiwo gave him another punch....

Infuriated, Pope gathered momentum and punch him back in the face... Hard....

His strong fist collided with Taiwo cheekbone, he stumble almost hitting his body on the door....

Taiwo groan, then he dive at Pope and they both clattered on the chair....

Pope wince as his back hit the hand leather of the chair....

Pope threw up his forearms like an offensive lineman blocking a defensive back, but Taiwo slipped to the side, pushed Pope's elbow down and away, caught his head, and rolled him into the floor.....

With rage crossing through Taiwo eyes, he punched Pope repeatedly...... Giving him a fatal blow and Pope's head began to bleed...

Not minding the pain, with a fierce energy, Pope turned him over and he took control.... He punched him back on the face, hard, without mercy, his own blood dripping from his mouth and nose into his body...

Taiwo struggled to take control back, his palm covered Pope's face as Pope gave him more blows.....

Just then he pushed him aside and Pope body hit the glass table making the table fall to one side.....

Taiwo quickly stood up and brought out the gun that was tuck between his shorts and trousers.......
He pointed it at Pope as he stood up....

Pope scoffs and wipe the blood from his mouth, then he stood up to meet his gaze.......
"You want to shoot me......? He ask, exasperation in his voice...

THE MC'S VOICE ECHOED IN THE HALL, PEOPLE WERE NOW SITTING ON THEIR CHAIRS LISTENING TO THE MC WORDS.... some laughing at the Mc funny talks.....

The chiefs just sat down, their eyes on the new man who was standing in their front.. Each wondering who he is.......

"May i.....? Mr Gallagher said pointing to an empty chair....

"Of course..... "Carlos replied, voice clipped..

Mr Gallagher made a wry smile and sat on the chair,he quickly drop the briefcase on the table and the chiefs eyes shift to it..., the thug who had followed him stood beside him.....

He crock his throat as he met the chief's gaze.. They were staring at him waiting patiently for him to say something.....

"Gentlemen, am Mr Gallagher...... "

He jut his chin when the chiefs didn't reply....... "Am a traveller who seeks were to invest, i heard this town is rich,i also heard many people stop here to invest and they yield huge results..... "

"I presume you are not on the guest list..... "Buzo interjects

Mr Gallagher nib his lips.... "No am not, but what better place to meet the real business men if not a wealthy party like this.......?

"Business men....!, Chief Joseph exclaimed.. Then he scoffs......

"Am a business man who seeks to have more business...., like i said, i travel alot, you know what they say, man shall not live by bread alone...., i don't just stick my goods in one business.... I make a move to invest in other places..... "

With pout lips, Mr Gallagher pull the briefcase to himself, followed the format and opened it..., then he turn it to face them.....

"Diamonds..... "Chief Mayo exclaimed shocked.....

Perplexed, the chiefs look at the quadrilateral, 2-dimensional flat figures with four closed, straight sides glowing in the briefcase.........

"Are these real......?Carlos ask....

Mr Gallagher scoffs..... "That will be an insult to my person..... ,The diamonds are real.... "He pick one and tossed it to his side....

Carlos pick it up, he assess it with his eyes, the diamond glowing in his face.....

"So all this are for us.....? Chief Ayu ask...

Mr Gallagher chulkled....., just then, the thug came to his front, he pick up the briefcase and begin to drop one each in their front....

When he was done, Mr Gallagher close the briefcase........

"Consider this a first hand gift, there is more to come when my buy order is been accepted..... "

"Mr Gallagher, why do you want yo invest with us.....? Carlos ask......... "You don't know us.... "

"Acquaintances and friendship is not an option in business......, i find your company profitable...., you see i don't just go into business, i research,i dig deep, i root out things..., so belive me when i say i want to do this...., i can start with one share......, then i invest it to yield more instead of putting it in the stock market... ,Till the contract is over.... "

The thug quickly drop another briefcase on the table......, Mr Gallagher opened it and turn it to face them...... With those words he stood up..... "Money creates more money..... ,have a nice party day gentlemen..... "He said and left, the thug following him....

She quickly move to the next,she turn down the knob and it opened slightly....., she sigh, a sigh of relief, then she opened it wide.....

Shock grip her almost making her lost her balance......

"Hello bitch.......... "Rose snarled.....

Annabel feet tremble, she just stood shaking, the enormity of her shock taking control over her....

the force of her body broke the glass table and landed her on the floor..., pieces of the glass table,broken bottles and glasses Pierced into her body.........

People began to scream, her blood began to flow out from her body mixing with the wine flowing from the broken bottles.......

The broken pieces of glass stucked on her face, her hand, her stomach...... Blood flow out freely.......Her cocktail gown drenched with splashes of wine and her own blood............

From upstairs, Rose drag her jacket hood to her face as people began to rushed to Annabel......
with a wry smile, she began to climb down from the stairs..,her eyes showing no pity, no remorse, with a fierce energy she muttered "KARMA IS A BITCH.... "

She stare around again, her eyes fell on the bride and groom, the decorations were super......

She huffs as she recall what she had told Rachael, she prays and hopes Rachael succeeds.......

He walk closer to him, a few pace from where the chiefs were sitting.......

He took out one glass from the tray and quickly taste it..... "Good flavour....., You made it.. ?

The boy nib his lip wondering why he was asking..... "Am twenty-two years old sir.... "

"How much will you be paid for doing this job....?

"I don't know sir, but whatever amount am paid will go a long way in helping me.... "

The boy slack-jawed his eyes..... "I will scream sir.... "

Mr Gallagher quickly shift his gaze to the chiefs, they were still busy laughing and discussing....

He turn back his face to the boy, he look at the thug behind who quickly deep his hands in his pocket and brought out a bundle of money.....

Shock raced through the boy as he saw the money...

Mr Gallagher quickly drop the money in the tray...... "Now scream.... "

Without hesitation, the boy shouted, he screamed so loud that everyone's attention shift to him including the chiefs....

"Stop screaming.... "

The boy quickly kept quiet, joy overwhelming him.....

"Now go and enjoy your money...... "Mr Gallagher said when he noticed the Chiefs were staring at him.....

"Thank you sir... Thank you very much sir..... "The boy said, drop the tray of glasses of cocktail on a table nearby, then he dashed out.....

"What could he have given that boy that made him screamed so loud.....? Chief Ayu ask curiously....

Their eyes fixated on him and the thug....

She quickly saw a comb, luckily for her, there were some swig of hair still left on it...

Without hesitation, she pulled out the hair from the comb, she went into the bathroom, she saw a small toothbrush and a big one, she quickly registered the big one could be for Zara,while the little one was the boy...
Confused, she pick up the tooth brush.....she thought the little boy will be blamed for misplacing his toothbrush....

With everything done, she step out of the room and close the door back...

"Okay, give me my ball.....? Liza demanded

"Come and take it..... "

Liza trot forward to meet him but he yanked the ball away...

"Give me my ball.... "Liza shouted

Gerald quickly pushed her,she lost her balance and fell on the floor......

"My mummy told me everything in this place belong to me, so the ball is mine....."

Liza sneer, her eyes began to wet with tears...... Just then Taka came in.....

"Give me my ball... "Liza shouted running towards him again but he pushed her, this time hard,she almost fell but Taka hold her from falling......

That moment, the tears she's been trying to hold run down her cheek....

"Liza....."Taka said to her holding her up.......

"He has my ball.... "Liza muttered in tears

"Don't worry princess, just go inside okay, i will bring your ball........ "

Liza nodded and walk away sobbing....

Taka puff as he shift his gaze to Gerald...... "Little boy, give me the ball"

"No.... "Gerald said with fierce energy...........

Taka exhales then he drew closer to him.... "Give me the ball now that am been nice..... "

"Am not scared of you, my mummy told me i will be king and kings are scared of nothing....., she said everyone is a servant to me..... "

"Your mummy must be so dumb if she thinks you are going to be king.... "

Irritated, Taka looked around, when he sensed no one was coming.... He turn to face him again.... "Alright spoilt mummy's boy, give me the ball.... "

"No.... "He yelled..... "The ball is mine.... "

Taka quickly grap his neck...

Gerald gasp and the ball slip from his grip.....

"You shouldn't have made the princess cried.... "Taka said then he let go of him...

Gerald gasp for breathe...... "I will tell my mummy.... "

Taka shook his head, then he loosened his belt, he smirked the belt in front of him and fear grip him.....

Without hesitation, he hold his hands and flog his wrist with the belt....

Gerald gave a loud cry as he struggled to free his hand from his grasp.......

Taka flog him again until his tender hand began to reddened....

Gerald burst out more tears... His cries grew louder....

"Shhhh....... "Taka muttered placing his finger on his mouth.... "if you continue crying, i will flog you more, do you want that.....?

Gerald quickly shook his head as more tears burst down.....

Taka snort...... "Repeat after me, i will always do what the princess say i should do.... "

Gerald repeated in tears.....

Taka nib his lips..... "I will always fear the princess..... "

Gerald repeated,more uncontrollable tears falling from his cheeks....

Taka suck his teeth when he look at his reddened wrist..... "If anyone ask you who did this to you, what will you tell them....?

Gerald didn't reply, he just continue crying.....

Taka huff..... "Okay lets make a deal, if anyone ask you who did this to you, you will tell whoever it is, you don't know, If you tell anyone i did it, do you know what i will do to you....?

Gerald shook his head....

"I will make you vanish, i will send you to a place where you will never see your mummy again..... So you will do as i say, do you understand that.... ?

He nodded in tears...

"Good boy.... "Taka said rubbing his hand on Gerald head......... "Now go to your room and cry very well........"

THE COLD BREEZE FROM THE FAN SENT COLD INTO HER BODY... HER BODY SHIVERED AT THE THOUGHT OF MANNY... she could be dead and no one knows about it....

She sniff, stood up from the chair and began to pace about.......

She glance at her phone, inclined to call the number who had called Manny earlier...

She called it..., her blood ran dry for a second when she realise it was still switched off...

She wonder who the person was. "He knows,who knows... " she muttered remenbering what she said.....

She glance at the time, it was almost evening yet the DPO hasn't come as Sharon had said...

She sat back on the chair, she knew the DPO isn't going to come......

She ran her hand through her hair, teeth tugging at her cracking lower lip......At times the thought of Manny coming home would surface and she would swallow hard, willing her eyes to remain dry and her mind focused......

As the daylight dwindled, the tension, the fear in her grew.. Overwhelming her.. Whispering to her that Manny is never coming home...

She went black when the thought made her shivered.... Uncomfortable... Fear slowly pinching every part of her....

She gasped...., and bounce back into an oblivon of optimism...., she can't give up hope, she knew that for a fact...

She knit her brows, her opposite voice was louder, blocking all positive thoughts from coming in but she knew better.... Manny could be somewhere, suffering, praying her friends comes to her rescue.....

She got disrupted from her thoughts when footsteps began to approach her... She raised her head, her brows slightly touching the tip of frown lines on her forehead.....

Jasmine sneer as she sat on the chair with a plate of indomie and fork in her hand...

Mary swallowed but didn't reply, she drown back into her thoughts.. Going deep, finding places where Manny could be or where her Abductor could have taken her, but nothing came, it was totally blank.. Totally useless...

She bit her lip, so hard that she almost wince....
She fold her hands across her chest, Manny's phone beside her....

With a huff, she called the person's number again with her phone..

She sigh, a sigh of disappointment and frustration when she realise it was still switched off....

"You nor go eat....? Jasmine ask as she wrap a bunch of long swizzing indomie on the fork, then she took it to her mouth before Mary could reply....

"No, thank you.... "Mary muttered with doleful eyes....
She rushed back into her thoughts...

She quivered when a knock sounded at the door..., she glance at Jasmine who reciprocated the look....

The knock came again...., her heart skip, then she stood up, the enormity if her fears sink deep.. Overwhelming her.. Settling down in every part of her..

"Na who be dat......? Jasmine blared out but no reply came and that made them shivered.....

Jasmine quickly stood up, the indomie in her hand and some in her mouth.....

Slowly, legs trembling beneath her, Mary move forward towards the door.....

She spun back to face her phone when her phone began to ring...

Confused on which side to turn first... She stood..., the memory of everything flooding her head like a wild fire......

"Is Mary in.... "The person said from outside....

She snort when she recognized the voice.... Without hesitation, she trot towards the door and quickly open it...

Their eyes met, stirring up every desire they've been suppressing....., like a wind, it came back rushing through them......

"Hi..... "Francis muttered with clenched teeth...

"Hi... "She said back.....

For a moment, they just stood, each lost in words.... Their eyes and mind did the talking, each wondering what the other was thinking.....

Mary sigh then she broke the silence that tend to remind her of everything......

"Come in... "She said crisply paving the way for him...

His eyes fixated on her,he walk into the house.....

"See my friendship oo.... "Jasmine said..... Walking back to where she was sitting....... "Shooo, i fink say you don forget us o.. "

Francis chulkled.... "How are you... "

Jasmine nib her lip..... "I dey oo, God don shame that baboon wen nack me for head.... "

"Thank God you are okay.... "Francis muttered, he turn when Mary hands brushed his... He fix his eyes on her as she walk to a chair and sat down...

With a huff, he sat opposite her, beside Jasmine......
He find words to say.. Words to say he was sorry for what happened that night, words to explain how he truly regrets that day, words to say how he has been suffering not been with her........

"So what did you find out about the kidnapper...? Mary ask sharply, fighting her own thoughts, her own feelings that were on the verge of bursting through...

She was still angry for what he did that night but her heart wasn't..... She still loves him and sometimes it angered her more....

He puff recalling everything that happened between him and Micah... Their dialogue that ended up with utmost vexation.......he crock his throat, snort, inhaling all the air he can get....

"Do you remenber when i told you i knew someone who knows the senator..... ?

"It wasn't me you told,it was Sharon...... "Mary said abruptly

He bit his lips.. His lower lip quivered at her words........ "Turns out the guy i knew was the kidnapper..... "

"Ehn.....!, Jasmine exclaimed shock....... "So na im kidnap Manny....?

"No, turns out he was just pretending.. It was all lies to extort money from us..... "

"I don't understand this... "Mary said with clenched teeth.... "Why would he lie about kidnapping Manny.....?

"Because i confronted him...... "He exhales and explain further.... "The guy and i aren't friends, i knew he wouldn't meet me if i ask him to... I needed to talk to him about the senator, so i called him with Peter's phone.... "

"Peter knows him.... ?

"Yes......, i ask him about Manny when he showed up.... Turns out our conversation got him infuriated.., so i guess the kidnapping stunt was a payback..... "

"What if na im really kidnap Manny... ?

"He would have called again for the money..... He doesn't have Manny..... "

"Who does....? Mary resounded..... Her voice clipped...

"What are the police doing...? Francis ask when he found no other words to say.....

Mary frown but didn't reply...

"Na police mata you dey enta, that side neva pure yet o...."Jasmine said as she took another fork full of her indomie....

"The police are supposed to be on this case 24hours.....,this is serious..... "

Irritated with the show, Pope changed the channel.....
He sigh, the cold of the air condition gently pricking his skin and he liked it... He love this life.... This life of wealth....

Shirtless, only on white pokeman shorts,he walk towards the door as a knock sounded... Earlier on Sharon had told him she was coming,though he was a bit angry that her call has made him pursue that girl and he was about to have a hot afternoon sex with... That kind of mind-blowing sex....

He quickly opened the door .... With pout lips he stood so she can see every inch of his physique.......

Sharon quickly pushed him aside and stepped inside...

"Never romantic...... "Pope said with clenched teeth and close the door......

"Have you heard from Jack....? Sharon ask

Pope spun round to face her...., he nib his lip... "Yeah, i called him and we trashed out the difference you and your friend flamed up between us.... "he said walking to where he was sitting...

She snort, she came here to rest, away from Mary and her talks about Manny... Then that prostitute....... She just want to be far from the thoughts of Manny.....
Without hesitation, she sat down.....

"So you came all the way here just to ask me if I've heard anything from Jack....?

"How is Manny, has she been found.....?

"I have heard enough about Manny to last me a lifetime, don't start with her again..... "

She puff but didn't reply..... "What do you have in the kitchen, am starving.... "

He shift his gaze to her......."There is rice... Unboiled.... "

"Then you will stay hungry.... "

She suck her teeth and reclined her head on the chair.......

Slowly Mary opened her eyes as the alarm keeps ringing.....
She quickly turn off the alarm and stood up from the bed...
She can't believe it's morning, she blink her eyes...., then she head to the bathroom, Sharon had called her the previous day that she won't be coming home......

She remenber the DPO's call and she had told Sharon about it, the DPO had told her to see him in the office that morning, so she could tell him more things that will help in finding Manny..., She was glad... Happy that the DPO was finally interested in finding her friend....

She quickly washed her face and step out of the bathroom.....

He sigh when he realise it was Sharon's phone..., he stare at Sharon who he thought was still sleeping....

Quickly he pick up the phone to see the caller... He nib his lip when he realise it was Taiwo....

He walk to the palour and quickly answered the call.....

"How are you baby.....? "Taiwo ask

Pope poke his eyes....... "Baby is still sleeping...... "

He chuckled as he sense the shock in Taiwo's voice....

"Who is this....? Taiwo raved....

"Pope...... "Taiwo said, exasperation in his voice

"Where is Sharon....? Taiwo ask

"You want to know what we did all night.....? Pope ask....

He pout when he gave no reply, instead he gave a groan....

"Well, i don't like keeping secrets, so i will tell you, we fu*ked.....we fu*ked all night, hard... "

"What.....? Sharon's voice sounded from behind him, just then the call ended....

Anger sink deep into Sharon,she thought of Calling Taiwo and explain but she wasn't sure if Taiwo will take her calls.......

With knitted brows, she decided to give it a try, she quickly dial Taiwo's number, as she thought.. He didn't pick....

"Trouble in paradise.....? The person ask...

Sharon quickly shift her gaze to him, ,the person was young.. Black, his face a bit rough, ugly...., his arm muscles burlging out in the handless shirt he was wearing.......

She quickly turn away her gaze not bothering to reply...

"Hello pretty.... "The black guy said again as the taxi driver sped first......

Anger brushing through her, she turn back to face him inclined to pour everything she was feeling into him......

"What's your problem, don't you know when someone is in a bad mood.."Sharon snarled

"Yes... Because am in one..... "

With those words he quickly pulled out a gun from his back and point it at her.....

Sharon's heart almost busted out of her chest... The enormity of the shock made her phone slip from her grip.....

"Driver..... "The black man said...

The driver shook with Fear as he saw the gun in the top mirror of the car....

"Sir..... "The driver answered with shaking mouth...

"You will continue driving until i tell you otherwise.., failure to do so, i will sow a bullet in your head and i will still take your car....... "

"Yeeesss sir.... "The driver trembled...

Sharon heart raced at tremendous speed..... "Whhaat.... "She stammered...... "What do you want... ?

The black man smiled..... "Is not what i want, is where we are going..... "

Words escaped Sharon, she couldn't breathe, couldn't move... She could hear the rapid pounding of her heart....... "Whhhere are we going.....?

The call ended and started ringing again..., she look at the caller and drop the phone back on the chair.....

She hesitated a bit, she just sat down staring at the phone as it rings... With a deep huffs, she press the answer button, she smile at Noah again before she said... "Hello"

"Why haven't you been answering my calls....? The caller's voice raved...

She exhales.... "I was busy.... "

"We need to talk... "The caller said

"About what....? She ask with knitted brows..

"Where are you so i can pick you up...."The caller said

She snort, frown lines encroaching on her forehead.... "A friend's place... "

"What friend, a male or female....? The caller ask..., vexation coated in his voice..

She huff, anger slowly making way into her... "It's non of your business.... "

"Tell me where you are, i will come there right now and pick you up... "

She gaze at Noah who shyly turn away his face.... "Tell me where you are, i will meet you there..... "

The caller told her and hung up..., she sigh, then she fixed her gaze on Noah....

Noah shift his gaze to her again, her once smiling face has been beat down to frown lines on her forehead... And that makes him want to know her conversation with whoever called her......

"Bad news...? He ask

"Actually, it's nothing to worry about.... "

Mr Molly opened the next page, with a huff, he read the lead of the headline....

The tea store door opened, Miss Jones drag her feet in, towards their direction...

Mrs Marpheson smile upon sighting her.... "Miss Jones, what a pleasant surprise, i thought i would never see you again after your visit the other day.... "

"You still remenber my name, that's so good of you...."Miss Jones as she pull out a chair..

Mr Molly fused his eyes on Miss Jones, he sigh and focus his attention back on the newspaper, then he shift his gaze to her again......

Mrs Marpheson sigh..... "Santa Maria was an orphanage home that was here, but it was shut down years ago.... "

Mr Molly puff, a sniff followed... "You look like her, i mean the woman that once worked in that orphanage.., she was so kind.... "

"What happened to her....?

"People assumed their dead led to the shut down of the orphanage..... "Mrs Marpheson added

He poured the bottle of the wine he had ordered earlier into the glass, he hasn't waited this long for any girl...she was different... She pushed all his buttons forcing him to do things he never thought he could do.. Now he knows he's really deeply in love with her and he's going to get her with anything he has got, he is not going to let the girl he loves this much slip away like that...

It's really amazing how someone can fall in love at first sight, at first he thought it was just a mere infatuation but he knew better now, it's no infatuation, he's really in love, he can't just get her off his mind,every moment of the day, his thoughts is all about her, in his dreams, he sees her, in his imagination, she's dorminant....

He's really in love with her and he's going to make her love him..

He remenbered the previous day, that idiot had actually introduced himself as the guy in her life.....he chulkled at the thought... Sooner or later, he will know who the guy in her life is... He's going to get her... By money, by force or by tricks....

He put on a smiling face as he saw her coming, he wanted to stand up and embrace her but he thought it will be childish......

"You listen to me Anna...... "He yelled.... Nerves sink in....., he calm his nerves as he realise people must been listening outside the door..... "Rose is dead, so you are going to walk to the aisle with Jacob with a big smile on your face bearing in mind that Rose is dead..... "

"But she's not dead.... "She interjects abruptly....

"Don't ruin this wedding with your fear...... "John raved.. Anger surging through him...... "This shoes could have come from anyone....., so put yourself together and get ready to be wed, do you understand me.....?

She shudder....slowly she fold her fist....

"Rose has always been a stumbling block, i won't allow it on your wedding day, the biggest day of my life, our journey into riches begins from here, don't ruin this for me and you..... "

With a huff, she spun round tle face the mirror.... Rose can't stop her.. Today is her day... She won't let Rose sour her joy..... "Send everyone back in...... "She said picking up the brush and apply more makeup on her face...... "Am getting married.... "

slowly, the car door opens, the chief bride maid came down......

A thug quickly her own side of the door,heels came down first... Then the huge fabric of her gown..... Then the rest of her body followed... The veil covered her face......

Heart aching, she stare at the church from outside...... She could hear noises of people......

As she took another step, she looked back at her life. She saw herself, all in wonderful glory of her childhood and where she was finally meeting her Knight in shinning armor, She saw herself as a princess, the apple of the eyes of her parents. She saw herself growing up, as a young woman, the heartthrob of her high school. Every boy wanted her and every girl wanted to be like her....but everything changed when her family turned upside down.......

She smiled as she remembered Jacob's touch in the middle of the night… She thought of him hugging her from behind as she washed dishes in the kitchen, she got reminded of her grumbling at him when he did those little irritating things- throwing towel here and there, relaxing on the chair as she cooked and cleaned, or coming in to help when she least wanted those…

Her life hung on his whispered sweet nothings… She adored his little habits- hugging her in sleep, tickling her, playing games with her, just sitting there with her in total silence, just being near her, just following her from room to room…....and today she was going to seal that forever....

Amidst all the grandeur of flowers,she trot forward in her pristine flowing white dress and sheer tiara wearing a pearl sparkling necklace... Diamonds,silvers and golds atoned on her body.....

When she was in,she stare at the crowd that gathered at the Church... John came down to get her. All of the guests were there and Jacob was waiting for her at the alter where in just a few short minutes, she would begin her new life....a life of luxury as her brother has put it....

John took her hands as he began to walk her to the end of the aisle that will take her to the altar to where Jacob was standing.....

She quickly shivered as the thought of Rose creep into her head.... She look around, at the guest that were piercing their eyes at her.... She couldn't find her....

John sense her tense reaction, he quickly lean forward to her and whispered to her ears..... "Don't even think of doing anything stupid..... "

John quickly put on a wry smile as he noticed people were looking at them.....

Slowly.... Her head filled with the thoughts of Rose she trot forward,her hands on John......

She caught sight of Jacob smiling at her from the alter.....

It wasn't long before she got to the aisle and Jacob took over from there.......

They stood facing each other.... He smiled at her and she returned the smile.....

Just then father Moses began... "Annabel Duranma,do you accept this man, Jacob Azubu as your lawfully wedded husband......,to love and to cherish till death do you part?

She hesitated a bit, then she said yes......

Just then Father Moses turn to Jacob.... "Jacob Azubu,do you accept this woman Annabel Duranma as your lawfully wedded wife, to love and to cherish,till death do you part....?

"I do..... "He replied with clenched teeth.....

They quickly said their vows and exchange their rings....

Father Moses snort then he turn to face the crowd.... "If there is anyone who wouldn't want this union to hold for any reason should stand or forever remain silent...... "

Jacob and Annabel quickly turn their gaze to the crowd.......

Annabel heart raced at tremendous speed when someone slowly began to stand up.....

Eyes twitching, heartthrobbing,Annabel stare at the person.....

She sigh, a sigh of relief when she saw her face.. It wasn't her.......

She took a deep drag as the girl who stood ueo began to walk outside.....

"If there's no one, by the power bestowed on me by God Almighty and this church, i pronounce you husband and wife... "

Annabel quickly exhales.... She was married.. She cant believe it.....

Her heart skipped when his head close the distance between them.. Then he pressed a kiss on her lips.... A kiss of a new beginning... New life.... A kiss of wealth......

Outside the wedding reception hall,there were Many white marble pillars leading to the entrance, and a large wooden double door, pointed at the top. Silver bosoms on the door. A long pool arond the walkway leading to the entrance. Lots of cherry blossom trees in the yard. The towers are topped in silver domes...

People were beginning to troop into the hall, each awaiting the bride and the groom and let the occasion begin.....

Sound of music were heard, people stood dancing.. The crowd was much that it proves difficult to find someone......

The turn up was massive, not really the kind Annabel expected but she was glad.. Her wedding was the talk of the town and it will be for months to come....

On the far end of the hall, seated her and her newly wedded husband beside her.......

She was glad... Glad her day was going exactly the way she planned it..... Finally she get to live her dreams.. Her hidden aspirations......

She was inclined to tell Jacob about the gift, but a part of her keeps telling her the shoes could have come from someone else just as her brother had said,Rose is dead and she will remain dead........

She drew the jacket hood to her head making it difficult for anyone to see her face clearly....

She stood, then she glance up and her gaze met the glassy door.....

She curl her lips when she saw her reflection.....

Hands clenched into fist...., she step forward, into the threshold of the hall... Slowly, taking one step at a time, she stepped inside...

The crowd was much, people began to dance as the music got into their head but she didn't care, she wasn't here because for the music,nor for the food,nor the drinks......

She stepped fully in, paving way through the crowd....
She saw a staircase leading upstairs, she decided to go ueo, that way she can take a closer look....

She climbed up...., her hands on the balcony, she saw them.. Smiling at each other.. Touching each other at every opportunity.......

With a snort and a dangerous frown, she drag the jacket hood down her face...... Her eyes filled with rage.... She said...... "HAPPY BLOODY DAY, BITCH"

‪After several hours of driving and then close to Lagos, with Benin about four hours behind, the old woman asked: "Driver, you never reach Benin since?" "Ooooh!" the driver exclaimed, "Mama, Benin is like four hours behind us."‬
‪"Ah!", the woman shouted and started crying, saying: "Take me back to Benin, abeg, I no wan wahala o." Considering the age of the woman, the passengers agreed that the driver should turn back to Benin.‬
‪On getting to Benin, the driver came down, opened the door and told the woman she was in Benin.‬
‪The woman simply opened her hand bag, brought out two tablets of Panadol and swallowed them with water. She then smiled and said:‬
‪"Thank you, my son. Na my daughter say when I reach Benin, make I drink two tablets of Panadol
