A Kenyan woman, Akinyi Helen, has opened up about the alleged betrayals she experienced at the hands of her jealous younger sister.

In a Facebook post on May 3 2025, Helen revealed that she raised her sister like a daughter after their parents separated, ensuring that she received an education.

However, in return, her sister allegedly had an affair with her partner.

She claimed that despite forgiving her sister, the girl allegedly began a covert campaign to destroy her reputation, recruiting friends to turn against her and spreading lies behind her back.

A 37-year-old woman in Spain has been accused of selling her baby for 2,000 euros to a family in Cordoba.

The baby is now in the care of the Junta de Andalucía's social services department and the mother has been arrested by the National Police, together with four other people involved in the case.

The investigation began in March this year, when the mother herself filed a complaint. She claimed that a family from Cordoba had kidnapped her newborn daughter and demanded a payment of 3,000 euros in order to let her see her again.

The complainant said that, in November 2024, she had met a 24-year-old man at a party in Madrid. She told him that she was afraid that the social services would take her daughter away from her if she was born in the Spanish capital. The reason for her fears was that they had already taken the custody of her six other children from her.

According to the version she fabricated for the police, the young man had offered to take her to Cordoba and take care of her until she gave birth. The complainant stated that she wanted to go back to Madrid with the baby after the birth, but the family in Cordoba assured her that they would take her there a few days later.

The woman then claimed that, when she did not get her daughter back after a week had passed, she started to receive threats from the family in question demanding that she pay 3,000 euros for her month's stay in Cordoba if she wanted to see her daughter again.

The initial investigations found that the woman had altered her version of what had happened. In reality, the biological mother had allegedly reached an agreement to sell her daughter for 2,000 euros to a couple that was undergoing fertility treatments in Cordoba.

The investigators found that, after being discharged, the complainant went to the civil registry in Cordoba with the alleged buyers. There, the biological mother and the future "father" were listed as parents of the newborn.

The man then withdrew 2,000 euros from an ATM cash machine and gave it to the mother. After that, she was taken to Madrid by another member of the family.

The police also discovered that the mother's six other children were taken away from her following a court order from 2022, which found that the children were in a situation of neglect. All six of them were placed under the guardianship of the Madrid region.

According to the investigation, the woman regretted selling her daughter, which is why the family demanded the return of the amount they had paid her, plus another 1,000 euros for the expenses from the month's stay in Cordoba.

The National Police arrested the mother and the four members of the family that bought the baby. The buyers were intercepted while they were on their way to a pediatric appointment.

A 23-year-old Nigerian woman identified as Osarugbe, has d!ed in Libya.

She passed away at about 11:33am on Friday, April 4, 2025 after battling illness.

Anti-human trafficking advocate, Yakubu Oyiza and her team had been raising money to bring her back to Nigeria for better medical treatment as hospitals in Libya rejected her.

According to Oyiza, documents for burial, autopsy, and land to bury her in Libya have been arranged, all costing approximately 350,000.

She alleged that the family abandoned her since she fell sick and had earlier refused to go to Kano and pick her up the day she was supposed to be brought back to Nigeria.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 5, Oyiza revealed that some family members of the deceased called them asking for Osas’ properties.

“Since yesterday that I called Osa’s family and told them their sister passed, they haven’t called me back to ask how far,” she wrote.

“We sent 350k for her burial (to Libya) which they are still asking for more but guess what? Osas’ family is calling for us her properties.

“They want her properties, we haven’t laid this girl to rest but they are making trouble with us for someone I don’t know for properties.

“Most of these young girls that run to Libya have something chasing them. I am devastated.”

Nollywood Actress, Destiny Etiko has filed a petition against her colleague, Queeneth Hilbert, over allegations she made against her.

In several videos, Queeneth Hilbert had accused Destiny Etiko of snatching her colleagues’ wealthy partners (Odogwu), including one of her ex-partners from Benin who drove a Mercedes-Benz.

In response, Destiny Etiko’s legal team petitioned Queeneth Hilbert, demanding a retraction of the alleged defamatory statements on all social media platforms.

Etiko claims the allegations are false and aimed at tarnishing her reputation.

The petition also seeks to halt further publication of defamatory statements, demands a formal retraction of the derogatory publication, and the payment of 100 million naira in damages.

A South African marriage therapist and community psychologist, Bakhe Dlamini, has revealed that he lost his virginity to his wife at the age of 27 on their honeymoon.

The father of three disclosed this in a Facebook post on Valentine's Day.

Ghana’s President John Mahama has imposed a ban on first class travel for all government appointees as part of efforts to cut down public expenditure amid the country’s economic difficulties.

Speaking at the swearing-in of new ministers at the Jubilee House, Mr. Mahama said all non-essential travel would be prohibited, while the Chief of Staff must first clear any necessary trips.

He revealed that he has directed the Chief of Staff to formally notify all ministers and government officials about an immediate restriction on non-essential travel, which aims to cut government expenditures.

“Any travel that is deemed essential and necessary must be cleared first with the Office of the Chief of Staff, and such travels will have to be taken in modesty—no first class,” Mahama stated.

President John Mahama also cautioned his appointees against arrogance and wasteful spending, stressing the need for prudent use of public resources.

“The resources you will be working with belong to the Ghanaian people who put us in office,” he said, adding that these resources must not be misused on luxury or extravagance.

The directive is part of President Mahama’s commitment to cut down on extravagant spending as his administration seeks to restore economic stability and public trust in governance.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has arrested a 24-year-old man, Sola Jimoh, for stealing a motorcycle.

The Command’s spokesperson, ASC Kehinde Adeleke, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, December 27, 2024, revealed that the suspect confessed to leaving his hometown near Osogbo on Christmas morning at 6 a.m. with the intention of stealing a motorcycle.

According to the statement, Jimoh admitted that upon arriving in Osogbo, he spotted a motorcycle parked under a tree at Powerline with no one nearby.

He quickly took the motorcycle, but the owner discovered the theft and promptly reported it to the nearest NSCDC office.

Jimoh was apprehended while attempting to escape with the stolen vehicle.

The Commandant of the Osun NSCDC, Igbalawole Sotiyo, stated that Jimoh claimed his own motorcycle had been stolen in September 2024, which drove him to seek revenge by stealing another one.

Sotiyo assured the public that Jimoh would be charged in a court of competent jurisdiction, where the law would determine his fate.

He also urged citizens to provide actionable intelligence to the nearest security agency to help prevent crime and criminal activities.

An abandoned two-year-old boy has been found at a dump site in the Iganmu area of Lagos State.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a post shared on his X handle on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

According to Hundeyin, the baby was found at the Sari Iganmu dumpsite on Monday night and taken to a police station.

The police are now seeking public assistance in tracing the boy’s family.

“Found child: This boy of about two years old was found last night at the Sari Iganmu dump site by a Good Samaritan and brought to the station. Kindly share to enable him to reunite with his family,” He Wrote.

The Chairman, Bayelsa State Volunteers has apprehended three members of a cult group who were earlier engaged in a bloody shoot out with another group in Saint Peters Church axis, Yenagoa, in the early hours of Friday 31st of August 2018.

The young men who had brutally killed a member of a rival group fled the scene of the incident with bullet wounds to Ikolo village.

The three young men crossed the river Nun to meet their herbalist so as to extract the bullets lodged in their bodies.

The Chairman in company of some of Special Squad and Police men attached to the State Volunteers, chased the boys to their hideout in Ikolo village where they were caught inside a room while others ran into the bush.

Meanwhile, the dead young man whose body was hurriedly buried in a shallow grave across the river opposite the Federal Medical Centre was exhumed for proper autopsy.

The body of Kali Dede has since been deposited in the FMC mutuary as ordered by the State Police Anti-Cultism Department, a unitunder SARS. All at the expense of the Chairmam.

Hon. Asanakpo has advised citizens of the state to cooperate with the agency by providing the needed information about crime and criminality any where in the state.

In due course, he said, the telephone numbers to call in case of security breaches will be made public.

The government of Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, Asanakpo noted will not condone any acts of criminality, hence his massive investment in the security infrastructure in Bayelsa state.

The essence of this investment, the Chairman observed is to atttract investors and tourists to the state, thereby improve the internally generated revenue of the state, noting that peace and security is very paramount to economic growth, and that can only be achieved if we all support the government in ensuring the safety of life and properties.

Hon. Asanakpo reiterated that security is the collective responsibility of all citizens, it must not be left at the corridors of government alone. We all need to play our roles in the developmentnof Bayelsa state, he added.
