sunniislam: After studying Human Anatomy, you can apply for MBBS and be given 300Level in UniJos, 200L in BUK or UNIMAID. Moreover, Federal Government are proposing that graduates of Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology etc are to start joining Medicine at Clinicals level to become Medical Doctors. And also you can work as an ultrasonographer after few months of training Wait a minute sir, are u sure about UNIJOS-300L? |

Why must He choose UNIPORT? @Poster, go for your choice preferably, same UNN, or the merit-driven sch., UI Drguzzykola: Accept the med lab, though not dsame wit medicine , take the next jamb , choose Uniport ( no tribalism in merit list, ) , I learnt jamb is next year February, Giv all ur best to get 290+, like my boss will said (400 is not impossible ) , |

Profcamsey: With this new system, there be admission into medicine and surgery but the first 4 years ll now be run like other courses in semester system and there ll be grading (cgpa). All students must choose there course of interest in the 4th year which they ll be givenBsc in. The next 3 years ll be for clinical students. Those with Bsc inanatomy, physiology and med biochemistry ll now use 3 years to get MBBS or BDS. Those with degree from biological sciences ll have to use 6 years cos they have no knowledge of the basic medical courses. Other health related courses ll use 4 years to obtain the MBBS degree. EXCEPT THAT I THINK THAT THE CHOOSING OPTIONS STARTS FROM 200L |

Dbrainiac1: In the case that it's a separate programme... yes. But the Bachelor of medical science in any of em is 3yrs Bro, re-read with glasses, lol! Once u r admitted to MED, u spend 7yrs in total. 4yrs BSc. with options in ANAT, PHYSIO AND BIOCHEM, then 3yrs for clinical medicine. Then already graduates would spend 4yrs. |

Dbrainiac1: You will be admitted by DE if you are a qualified graduate of Nursing, Pharmacology, Physiotherapy, Image Science, Paramedics, Anatomy, Biochemistry and pharmacy...for a four year course leading to MBBS/BDS(dats for DE). But if u r starting from d core through UTME, u have to a basic medical science course either Anatomy, Biochemistry or Physiology for 3 years, in wic u will be awarded a B. Med. Science or B. Dental science... after then if u meet d certain requirements u will be admitted for a four year course leading to the award of MBBS or BDS IS THAT HOW U UNDERSTOOD UR OWN? SMH |

jargo89: Well I respect ur opinion; but I am not trying to create a first degree versus utme entry students. All I am saying is first degree students have a better advantage of handling medical school's pressure.
Nd for d saying of urs that utme students have a smoother journey in med school; I am sure u wont be suprised it I tell u that is very debatable (would love to be proved wrong).
Also, for the seen it all mentality, I can assured u [using myself as a case example (a small sample size, I know)], I was overawed after admission. So even if the seen it all mentality was dere b4 admission, it def didnt last long.
To cap it all, m not an advocate of any admission type. I just feel having a degree prepares u for d MENTAL rigours of med skul.
*sorry for the brackets in brackets . I AM WITH YOU BRO! RIDE ON! |

jargo89: Not to belittle ur opinion, buh I tink it does mk sense. Having an experience b4 med school can only but be of help. Most pple go into med school, not avin an idea how to survive in a univeristy, lest a medical skul. This policy is used in the US and its allowing them produce more mature med practitioners. I might be biased tho (I passed through that route) but it has only been beneficial. Thank u THE POLICY IS BEST! |
