like i said they are many. Some are spiritual, poor sec sch background, school of choice+catchment area thing, and choice of course. Though it varies individually but those i mentioned are majorly what affected me, you might as well ponder on them.

I was in your shoes bro, finished sec sch in 2008 too, did pre-degree twice didn't work, later went to poly before i got admission this year. There are so many factors behind your admission spell and until you discover and tackle them am afraid your spell will continue. I discovered mine and did justice to it now am happy. My only regret was why it took me long to realize the obstacles and the 6yrs i kinda wasted.
