Amagunner, thanks for the insight you are giving..I understand the advertisement part but I still don't understand the whole concept of the links, the buying and selling of it.

1. Can you just elaborate on how are links marketable?

2. Persons who have links to sell, do they have websites?

3. And please explain a bit more about the middlemen role we are suppose to play in the buying and selling of links..

Thanks and Godbless.

SportsMatch Week 34 - NPFL Grades by Simongoals(op): 2:24pm On Sep 05, 2016
We assess the performances of teams in the match week 34 of the Nigeria professional football league.

Rangers - A+

The league leaders were both commanding and ruthless as they dismissed Rivers United, in a game many thought was going to be produce a close outcome.

Ikorodu United - A+

Ikorodu had only managed four wins in the course of the whole season, and were expected to fall at the Dan Ayiam stadium, but they held their own and shocked everyone to record an away win, many find difficult to get in the league.

Akwa United - A

They were excellent in scoring three goals. It was another routine home win in the league.

Warri Wolves -A

They managed to do the needful and that was to pick up maximum points. Their survival against the drop will depend on how many more points they collect, especially at home.

Elkanemi Warriors - B

They had a man advantage, and utilized it fully. Two good goals to seal another home win.

Plateau United - B

Scored a solitary goal in a game were they failed to maximally capitalize on the home advantage coupled with the numerical edge.

Kano Pillars - B

Another close game was predicted, but Kano Pillars, managed to come out with a comfortable result.

Lobi Stars - A

Lobi stars impressive run continued, and dismissing the former champions, albeit less convincing former champions, is no small feat.

Rivers United -E

Made a complete mockery of their title ambition, following the humiliation at Rangers.

Heartland - F

The nazy millionaires will have to do something sooner rather than later, if they are to avoid the drop.

Enyimba - F

Another disappointing result for the defending champions. Continental qualification may eventually slip from their grasp.

MFM - D

Scored an away goal, and were unlucky with two other goals, which were ruled out for offside.

Nasarawa United - D

Were expected to at least come out from the game with a draw, but saw Warri Wolves fight against the drop too strong to resist.

3SC - D

Played with ten men but still did not capitulate embarrassingly.

Sunshine Stars - E

Simply lost it against the Kano giants.

Niger Tornadoes - E

Also had a man sent off and in the end could do little.

SportsNigeria Looking To Maintain Unbeaten Run Against Tanzania by Simongoals(op): 8:40am On Sep 02, 2016
On Saturday, Gernot Rohr will take charge of his first match as Super Eagles gaffer in a 2017 AFCON qualifier.

It is a game which holds no significance to both sides with regards to qualification for Africa's biggest football showpiece, with Egypt already picking the sole qualification ticket of the group.

Rohr's ultimate task as Nigeria's coach is to secure qualification for the 2018 world cup in Russia, but a more pressing task, his very first, will come on Saturday, and it is to maintain the pride and supremacy of the Eagles against their unannounced Tanzania opponents.

The Super eagles, have contested five previous meetings against the Taifi stars and are yet to suffer defeat against them.

The first of the matches was in 1973, at the 2nd All Africa games hosted in Nigeria. Nigeria triumphed 2-1.

In 1980, in the opening fixture of the Africa cup of nations, equally hosted in Nigeria, it was a resounding 3-1 success for the Eagles.

In the qualification series for the 1982 FIFA world cup in Spain, both teams played out a 1-1 draw at the National stadium, Lagos. But the Eagles travelled to Dar es Salaam, and sealed a 2-0 win.

Also, in a 1986 AFCON qualification fixture, Nigeria walked over the Tanzanians, in a game which was goalless at half-time.

Come Saturday, the 3rd of September, Gernot Rohr, will be on the touchline against Tanzania, and the German must learn that the road to Russia, his task of building a team worthy of participation at the football mundial, starts with keeping the unbeaten run unscathed, and do so with gusto.

SportsA Look Back At How The Nigeria Dream Team I, Won Our First Football Olympic Gold by Simongoals(op): 4:07pm On Aug 18, 2016
In 1996, Nigeria’s greatest ever football team, left eternal footprints on the sands of time.

Daniel Amokachi, Emmanuel Amuneke, Tijjani Babangida, Celestine Babayaro, Emmanuel Babayaro, Teslim Fatusi, Victor Ikpeba, Dosu Joseph, Nwankwo Kanu, Garba Lawal, Abiodun Obafemi, Kingsley Obiekwu, Uche Okechukwu, Jay-Jay Okocha, Sunday Oliseh, Mobi Oparaku, Wilson Oruma and Taribo West , created celestial glory on the football pitches of Atlanta.

This group of players simply had it all, youthful exuberance, speed, technicality, endurance, patriotism, suspense and they provided entertainment too. They were called the Dream Team.

On Wednesday, under persisting troubles, the Nigeria dream team IX fumbled to Germany, leaving Nigerians to wait for four more years for another gold triumph. But with the team from 1996, there were no such disappointments.

The team had gone into the tournament on the back of a shocking defeat to fellow Africans, Togo. But by the time the first group game began on July 21st, a gold medal triumph on August 3rd for the Nigeria team, was simply not part of the script of football fans at the games.

Nigeria kick-started proceedings against Hungary, Nwankwo Kanu, registering the only goal of the match on the stroke of half-time. Two days later, it was the turn of Japan to experience the might of the burgeoning Africans. Late goals from Tijani Babangida and Jay Jay Okocha (pen), secured Nigeria’s passage to the next round. And in the final group game against Brazil, the South Americans ran out 1-0 winners. But the Nigerian boys were not going to be deterred.

It was time for the quarter-finals and the hurdle for Nigeria was another South American team Mexico. Lessons were well learnt from the Brazil defeat and it led to a 2-0 success for the Dream team. The goals coming Okocha and Celestine Babayaro.

And then came the semi-finals, against group stage conquerors Brazil. Flavio Conceicao put the South Americans ahead in the first minute of the match, but a Roberto Carlos own goal, leveled things up for Nigeria on 20 minutes. Eight minutes later, Bebeto restored Brazil’s lead.

Brazil looked to running away with yet another victory against Nigeria, but with twelve minutes remaining on the clock, Victor Ikpeba stepped up, hitting a brilliant shot from 20 meters to bring Nigeria back into the game. And then the moment came. Normal regulation time was exhausted and both teams had about four added minutes to prevent the game from going into extra time.

With just one minute into added time, Nigeria took the lead for the first time in the game. Kanu scrambled in the third and with virtually the last kick of the game, the lanky forward struck home a beautiful effort from 16 meters to seal an unbelievable win, but the "unbelievable" was yet to come.

The once unspeakable dream, was now a single match away. Argentina, everybody’s favourite for the gold, stood in opposition.

They expectedly took the lead through Claudio Lopez. Celestine Babayaro responded for Nigeria. And with five minutes into the second half, Hernan Crespo restored the Argentina’s lead, this time from the penalty spot. But just like the semi-final, Nigeria performed a late miracle.

Daniel Amokachi scored his first goal of the tournament on 74 minutes to break the hearts of the Argentines but Emmanuel Amuneke ensured that the Argentines, left the pitch with no heart, when he beat the offside trap to fire past Pablo Cavallero, in goal for Argentina, making it 3-2 for Nigeria.

At this point, the Nigerian team still could not believe what had just happened. But when referee Pierluigi Collina blew the final whistle, then they realized they had created history. What no other African team has done before in Olympics football, they had just done.

And so it was, the whole of Africa, and not just Nigeria was sent into riotous jubilation. Black Africa had its first true heroes.

However, it was not just fans who celebrated, the players too. Joseph Dosu, Nigeria’s goalkeeper at the tournament recalled,

"It was fun. We were chatting and dancing and singing all night long after we left the pitch. We had done something that no other African team had done, so we couldn’t sleep."

They were well rewarded upon their return home.

Each of them was given a luxury apartment together with a plot of land in a new development in an undeveloped area of Lagos and a whopping sum of 1m naira (£236,000).

They didn't just return home heroes, but forever remained heroes.

SportsFootball Preview For The Punters by Simongoals(op): 4:28am On Aug 13, 2016
The resumption of European league action this weekend does not only brings excitement to football fans, but also to football punters. It is not just time to celebrate your favourite team's win, but to also celebrate your loot from the money-hoarders.

League football in France have already commenced, with PSG's game yesterday, but the most unpredictable of them all, the English Premier league commences today. So if you are the faint-hearted type, make sure you read the script with utmost care before staking, or else help yourself to other leagues across the world.

The odds for this weekend's game in England are quite interesting. With bet9ja, the biggest game of the weekend between Arsenal and Liverpool has a 3.30 odd to end in a stalemate, which happens to be the prediction of most soccer pundits. Arsenal, with their massively depleted defense is 2.36 to win the game, while Liverpool with a much more healthy squad are given a 3.10 for a win. This game has a credible history of been high scoring and a 1.75 for over 2.5, is a clear reflection.

Hull City have a 4.30 to shock Premier league champions Leicester City, who are on a 1.91 to clinch an expected win.

Pep Guardiola takes to the field for the first time in England. His team is expected to see off Sunderland, who are perennial losers against the Citizens. But for those who thinks an upset is on the cards, then a massive odd of 13.00, is up for grabs.

Mourinho, with his big mouth and big new recruits, are on a 1.85 to seal an expected opening day win against Bournemouth, while former club Chelsea, who face a tricky opener against Westham on Monday are on a 1.65 to win and a 3.80 for the game to end in draw.

Outside England, Super cup matches will be decided in Spain and Germany.

Barcelona are on a 1.62 to overcome the unpredictability of Sevilla under new boss Jorge Sampaoli, who are been tipped at a 4.75, to stun Barca, who have not been quite convincing this summer.

In Germany, it is the boring clash of the two heavy-weights again. Bayrn Munich are favoured for a win with a 2.15, while Dortmund, who have seen a couple of their star players depart, are on a cool 3.10, to spoil Carlo Ancelotti's debut.

There are football actions in other football leagues, so do well to check up the games and make your stake. Goodluck.

SportsWhy Pogba's Record Breaking Move Makes "Complete" Football Sense by Simongoals(op): 12:52pm On Aug 09, 2016
Manchester United have announced the capture of midfielder Paul Pogba from Juventus on a five-year deal for a world record transfer fee of £89m, pushing the midfielder above Gareth Bale as football’s most expensive player of all time.

Prior to the completion of the deal, United faced criticisms from rival managers and former players over the mind-boggling fee they were willing to pay for the 23-year old. While many arguments were brought forward discrediting the high fee for the player, one which stood out was that “Pogba is not a Cristiano Ronaldo, a Luis Suarez or a Lionnel Messi, who will give a team 50 goals or more per season.” A position which has again brought to the fore “an unfair football bias”.

In 2006, FIFA named Italian Fabio Cannavaro as its best player in the world, a surprise deviation from the norm, where “attacking players” have scooped football’s top individual prize since its inception. And since that year, only three players, Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionnel Messi, all “attacking players”, have clinched the award, which is now referred to as the Ballon D’Or.

The selection of FIFA somewhat reflects a rather unfair, under-appreciation of other football stars who are either goalkeepers, defenders or central midfielders (Pogba’s playing position).

The list of the top twenty most expensive football players in history is completely dominated by “attacking players”, with David Luiz the only non-attacking player in the group, after PSG paid Chelsea £50m to bring him to France in 2014. This again clearly shows that clubs are only willing to part with record-breaking sums of money for these “attacking players”, even though in the course of the past twenty years, players and goalkeepers who have forever revolutionized football and who have displayed celestial quality on the football pitch, have emerged.

Players such as Fabio Cannavaro, Manuel Neuer, Iker Casillas, Gianluigi Buffon, Carles Puyol, Philipp Lahm, Patrick Vieira, Claude Makelele and a whole lots more.

It’s time for the perception to change and Manchester United together with new boss Jose Mourinho, have surely set a precedence with the capture of Pogba, and with the player only 23-years of age coupled with the enormous potential he possesses, it would be no surprise in a few years time, if he is sitting comfortably at the very top echelon of world football.

And an exciting consequence of Pogba’s record-breaking move to United, would be that young players who aspire to become the best in the world do not have to always to emulate the Ronaldo’s and the Messi’s to achieve that aim. But to simply put in hardwork and determination, and irrespective of the playing position they have chosen, they too will one day make history just like Pogba has done.

Pogba’s transfer fee should not be disregarded with “biased” criticism, but should be appreciated and seen as a whole new stage which has emerged for football to gain a more balanced standing.

SportsWenger Reveal The Golden "Four Criteria" That Determines If He Will Buy A Player by Simongoals(op): 4:37pm On Aug 06, 2016
The ever controversial manager of Arsenal football club Arsene Wenger, has spelt out his criteria for signing players.

The Frenchman's reluctance to improve his consistently under-performing squad in the transfer market, has always been a hot topic of discussion, and for Arsenal fans who just cannot come to terms with the Frenchman's actions, maybe his revelation on the factors that influences his choice of players would help.

Wenger outlined this criteria after seeing his side brush aside Norwegian club, Vikings 8-0 on Friday,

"It's not the prices, it's the players. The money is never a problem if you have to pay what is requested."

"The price of a player is down to four ingredients; one is the talent, two is his age, three is how much you expect him to improve your team, and four is his resale value."

"If he ticks all four boxes then the price is not that important. You have to find the player."

There are lots of players which certainly fit this bill. So the question which inevitably results from this statement has to be this,

How come Wenger is not making the additions?

SportsMourinho Should Be Sent To Jail...united Boss In Hot Waters Again by Simongoals(op): 8:12pm On Aug 04, 2016
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho should be sent to jail for bullying over his treatment of German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. This is according to Dejan Stefanovic, who is the president of the Slovenian Footballers and Sportsmen Union and also a member of the world players' union FifPro.

While speaking to BBC world service sport, Stefanovic, who also happens to be a lawyer, condemned the actions of the Portuguese,

"It's clear bullying, in Slovenia, we would have indicted Mourinho and asked for the highest penalty - three years in prison."

"This is clearly meant to discourage Bastian.

"Mourinho is setting a bad example. I would take it to the ordinary court. In our case, the penal code is quite clear. If there is bullying and harassment, there's a prison sanction, a maximum of three years in prison.

"Schweinsteiger should turn to the Professional Footballers' Association and he should file a complaint and I would also seek penalty for Mourinho.

"All the players of the first team have to train with the coaches of the first team at the same place, at the same time as all other team-mates.

"That's something that should be applied to each and every club and should be written within Fifa regulations."

World cup winner Schweinsteiger has sent to train alone and also with the United under-23 team since he resumed for pre-season training.

Nigerian international seems to be the toast of Leicester fans right now after his outstanding display in Leicester's 4-2 defeat to Barcelona on Wednesday.

The 23-year old winger netted both goals for the Foxes, despite only coming on at half-time, clinching the man of the match award and has also been trending on twitter since the game.

His manager and captain poured encomiums on the £16m arrival from CSKA Moscow.

Boss Ranieri said,

"He is an international player and his performance was good," said Ranieri. "Everyone saw that.

"Now, he has to understand the Premier League. We paid a lot of money for him because we believe in him.

"What he showed today, he showed pace, quality, scoring goals. That is it.

"Musa can play in this way and also when he improves his fitness he can also play in the wide positions, just like Kapustka.

"We know him very, very well. He can play in all the positions, striker, behind, right, left. It's important his fitness is getting better."

Captain Wes Morgan also had glowing comments about his new team-mate,

"He was amazing. He showed exactly what he is capable of.

"I'm sure that the fans and everyone who saw the game will be eager to see more.

"And I am convinced that there will be more"

In an eagerly anticipated season where big name arrivals such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Leroy Sane have been tipped to shine, Ahmed Musa might just surprise people again, just like his new team Leicester did last season.

SportsFirst It Was Sane And Now Gabriel, Is Iheanacho Still Part Of Guardiola's Plans? by Simongoals(op): 10:01pm On Aug 03, 2016
In the midst of the despair and disappointment which capped Manchester City's campaign last season, there were two uplifting thoughts which pervaded the minds of City fans.

First, the impending arrival of Pep Guardiola and secondly, the meteoric rise of 20-year old Kelechi Iheanacho, considered by many as City's star for the future. An even greater number of persons believed that the potential union between Guardiola, "football's best manager", and Iheanacho, City's third highest goal-scorer last season with 14 goals, would elevate the yougster to world class reckoning. But it seems that even before the stage has been set for the duo to gratify expectations, Guardiola seems to want something else.

Within the past 48 hours, Manchester City have announced the signings of 20-year old Leroy Sane from Schalke 04 for £37m and 19-old Gabriel Jesus, dubbed "the new Neymar", from Brazilian club Palmeiras for £27m, raising questions over the role of Kelechi Iheanacho.

Leroy Sane was the star of the Schalke team last season, scoring eight goals and assisting six in 33 appearances. His pace, skill and technical confidence proved menacing for Bundesliga defenders and his versatility to play effectively across the front three adds an unpredictable dimension to his game.

Guardiola confessed his admiration for Sane last season, and it is no surprise the Spaniard has snapped up the youngster.

"Sane is a huge talent", and further adding, "I can only congratulate Germany on having a talent like him", Guardiola said.

Gabriel Jesus was the subject of a hot pursuit from European heavyweights such as Real Madrid and Barcelona and it required a call from Guardiola himself to woo Gabriel over to City, thus indicating Guardiola's intent to have "the new Neymar", having previously missed out on current Barcelona forward Neymar, when he too moved from Brazil to Europe in 2013.

The intent with which Guardiola vigorously pursued deals for the duo, surely raises eyebrows regarding his perception of Iheanacho's role in his team and also clearly outlines where his preference lies.

Iheanacho, on the other hand, has to put in an enormous amount of effort, much more than he put in under former boss Manuel Pellegrini, if he is to remain the "golden boy" of the City team and upstage the big money arrivals of Sane and Gabriel.
