PetsRe: Do Vets Perform Abortions On Dogs? by SimplyA1(f): 6:59pm On Nov 08, 2021
This gat to be a Joke, Else... I'm a Dog lover also. Yes you can abort it or allow the dog get a pseudopregnancy. It's not nice for a pure GSD to mate with a local dog, as in do you want to sell it. Better still let the GSD give birth, then share the puppies or sell as your friend will still get above 300k from sales if him sabi game.

Nairaland GeneralIt Took FIFA 100 Years To Let South Africa Host 2010 World Cup – Organisers by SimplyA1(op): 10:21am On Jun 11, 2020
Danny Jordaan, the man who spearheaded the 2010 World Cup, believes the tournament put an end to “Afro-pessimism” and helped transform the African continent from “hopeless to hopeful”.
Ten years after the event, Jordaan told AFP the World Cup put sceptics firmly in their place and sparked a boom for Africa.
In 2004, when then-FIFA president Sepp Blatter announced South Africa would be the 2010 host, it had already been a century since the governing body was formed.

“It took 100 years… and the reason for that is a doubt that had been created around Africans and the African continent that they don’t have the capacity and they will never deliver the infrastructure,” Jordaan said.
“This is something that we have to contend with – Afro-pessimism.”
After it won the bid, the country embarked on a six-year journey to deliver the required infrastructure including rail, rapid-transport systems, roads and freeways, as well as upgrading broadcast and telecommunication systems.
That came at a 33-billion rand ($1.9 billion) price tag.

“After 2010, Africa became a destination for tourism, for investment for trade,” Jordaan said.
“The environment has changed from a hopeless continent to a hopeful continent, a continent of the future and now, no one can ignore the African continent.”
He added, “There is no contradiction between being African and being world-class.
“It is again, the Afro-pessimism. We are not going to allow them to put their knees on our necks,” he said metaphorically referring to George Floyd, the African-American man whose death at the hands of a white policeman in Minneapolis has sparked worldwide protests.

Mandela’s appearance

Jordaan, who was head of the 2010 organising committee and is now the president of the South African Football Association, hailed the tournament’s legacy.
“The infrastructure legacy together with 25 new hotels, which have been built, places this country with some of the best infrastructure on the continent,” said Jordaan at his office at SAFA house, situated at the FNB stadium on the fringes of the Soweto township.
Of the 10 stadiums that hosted the 64 matches during the month-long tournament, five were built from scratch, and five received upgrades so they could collectively seat more than half-a-million spectators.
The stadiums are now used by football and rugby teams.
For Jordaan, the moment when former President Nelson Mandela came to wave to the crowd on the day of the final at the stadium, previously named Soccer City, remains emblematic of the significance of the tournament for South Africans.

“He was already very frail and sick, but he insisted… he must be there,” said Jordaan.
“Of course, that was his last public appearance. He never appeared in public again.”
The tournament also catapulted women’s football to prominence, said the 68-year-old who played a critical role in preparing the bid to host the 2010 premier event.
“As a result now we have more than 400,000 women playing football,” at various levels including developmental, he said.
A plethora of female referees and coaches have also emerged over the last decade.
A premier women’s football league, established a year before the World Cup, has since grown to boast more than 140 teams and thousands of female players.

Banyana Banyana, the national women’s team, is rated among the top 50 by the FIFA Women’s World Rankings.
Among the many memorable and uniquely African icons of the 2010 World Cup, were the ‘vuvuzela’, long plastic trumpet horns now adopted worldwide.
"Most of the European fans didn’t like the sound of the vuvuzelas,” Jordan chuckled, “they said it’s like bees, angry bees humming in the stadium.”

Nairaland GeneralOvercoming Fear by SimplyA1(op): 11:53am On Jun 07, 2020
“You cannot keep running away from your fears. At some point in life, you will have to build up the courage to face and overcome them.”

Overcoming fear is not an easy thing to do. Fear retains us from living. It convinces us that we can never accomplish our dreams, it tell us to keep quiet and separate from the ones we love. It has an enormous ability to limit what we are willing to try and freeze us in our tracks, making us to lead a smaller life.
Fear is not really a bad thing. It exists for our protection as an early warning signal, but there is a big difference between the one who is healthy, that tells us to step away from an edge of a cliff, and a constant fear that keeps us from living our life. The problem comes when most people cling to their fears because it’s a part of who they are. If you aren’t ready to face your fears, you will probably never overcome them.
I recommend some steps and techniques that can help to stop fear from taking control of your life.

KNOW IF AND WHEN YOUR FEARS ARE IRRATIONAL

Fear is a survival instinct that we develop to help us avoid danger. This kind of fear can be named more like “caution”, which is obviously necessary for a healthy dose.
Irrational fears, on the other hand, are those fears that stop us from doing things that carry little to no actual risk. You have to learn to differentiate the two of them. When faced with something new, we often fixate on the worst-case scenarios, and we think that by avoiding the “risk” is the only certain way to avoid our failure. You should instead focus on the positive, and put everything you have into ensuring your success.
So, the best thing to do is to examine the reasons behind the fears, ask yourself if it is a caution or irrational fear, and focus on the positive.

CREATE STRUCTURE

If it is a new situation that is causing you worries, build structure into your schedule to create safety. Structure gives us a sense of security because in that way we know what to expect, and creates the comfort in something familiar. So, if you take control of what you can, you will have a good starting place from which to face the things you can’t control.

ALWAYS BE PREPARED

One another important technique when we speak about overcoming fear is to prepare yourself. One of the reasons that we worry about doing things is that we feel unprepared. Learn to prepare, because when we attempt a challenge without adequate preparation, our anxieties kick in and we are more likely to fail. A proper preparation can give you the confidence that you need to obtain your goals.
It is important though, to realize that you can never be 100% prepared for anything. But don’t let this to become an excuse for not trying.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS

All fears, no matter if they are big or small, are worse when we face them alone. Find a good friend or someone from your family to share your fears with. Someone you can trust and who can be able to see what you’re afraid of in a new light. Someone who will be there to stand by you and encourage you as you face your fears.

FACE YOUR FEARS

Finally, the last step is to actually face your fears. Let go of looking stupid, feeling embarrassed, being ignored and facing failure or rejection. Accept the failure as a part life and get through it and over it.

STAY ALIVE!
YOU OWE YOUR SELF MORE THAN YOU OWE ANY MAN.
