Pray for you, for what, please do your job, mtchewwww!
NaijaCelebrity:
Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman Begs Nigerians To Pray For Him To Succeed In His New Role

The newly-appointed Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, has asked Nigerians to pray for him to succeed in his new role.

Mamman was announced as the new Power Minister when President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated his second term cabinet in Abuja on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

While speaking later during a reception organised in his honour by a committee of friends, the minister asked Nigerians to pray for him.

"What I need from Nigerians at this time is prayers. I have just been appointed Minister of Power, so I have nothing much to talk about or say than for Nigerians to pray for me to succeed," he said.

Mamman's assignment came as a surprise to some as the ministry was previously under the stewardship of former Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola, who was reappointed and also sworn in for another stint in Buhari's cabinet on Wednesday.

Fashola was the Minister of Power, Works and Housing during Buhari's first term between 2015 and 2019. However, he returns only as the Minister of Works and Housing.

The Power Ministry holds a lot of political implications as the country has failed for decades to adequately supply electricity to its estimated population of 200 million people.

While the Buhari-led government has identified improving power supply as a key to improving economic growth, growth in the power industry has been sluggish with many parts of the country still deprived.

While delivering his remarks on Wednesday, Buhari urged the new ministers to work tirelessly for Nigerians to achieve a future where they can reach their full potential.

Anyway, your mum wasn't charmed but fell in love with a fraudster, you see, there is what you forget to consider, let me tell you, all your elder ones allowed you to be responsible for running the family, I tell you this, you mum saw that but won't tell you, all she tried to do was work towards making you all comfortable and happy but made the wrong choice. She was not charmed to answer your question, she was in a state of confusions considering her situation, lonely and had the devil come in as that low-life man.

Waaaooooo! Igbokwe must have offended Sanwo-Olu in the past and he waited to disgrace him, chaiii, Special Adviser on Drainage, omo shee oooooh!
9jaBlogger:
Lagos State APC Spokesman, Joe Igbokwe, has been appointed as Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage and Water Resources, Igbere TV reports.

Governor Sanwo-Olu had nominated Mr Igbokwe as Commissioner in the list sent to the Lagos State House of Assembly, last week.

Igbere TV reports that the Assembly had confirmed 35 out of the 38 nominees, with Igbokwe among those confirmed as Commissioner designate.

Many had expected that the Governor would announce Igbokwe as Commissioner during today's swearing in at the Alausa Government House, Ikeja, Lagos.

But shockingly, the APC Spokesman was unveiled as Special Adviser, as against the earlier announced Commissioner designate.

Joe Igbokwe had sparked controversy online over his “I am not Igbo...” comment during the screening exercise before the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The controversial APC Spokesman had come under fire, recently, over a mockery comment on popular Lagos motorbike hailing service, GoKada.

Igbokwe had mocked GoKada operators for shutting down operations in Lagos to rebrand and restrategize.

“Instead of partnering with govt on BRT, you invested “5.3 million dollars” in Okada business and expect that Lagos state will allow you jeopardise its muliti-billion naira mass transit investments.

“Call it ‘bike-hailing start up’ or whatever, okada na okada… it is not sustainable in a city of high density population Lagos”, Igbokwe had said.

The comment, however, did not go down well with many Nigerians lambasting Igbokwe and reporting him to Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Many Nigerians have reacted to the latest development, with many mocking the APC Spokesman for being “dumped” by the government despite his “overzealousness” and “eye-service”.

Family / Re: I'm Worried About My Son's Behaviour. Is He Normal? by Sinavaramini: 11:52pm On Aug 20, 2019
Madam, first off that boy is just 9 years old, still a kid that you should give a birth and thorough wash, guide brush his teeth, not sure if you grew-up in Nigeria or how old you are but let me remind you, when we were kids his age some of us get pinned down after many many unbrushed teeth episode and our mum will use charcoal + chewing stick to give us a sparkling teeth, also, we will get home after school, drop our bags and strip off our uniform, next thing we disappear into the woods hunting birds with catapult, then to the open field to play football. We never know the pain our mum go through, sometimes, she will want you to go buy maggi for soup, she will not find you, she will go round neighbour, shouting your name, loud, "Omo, come home ooooo, God, which kind pikin be this-----".

Well, I will tell you this, you have a very smart kid, just don't worry, he will pick up and grow-up great. You will remember me for this, don't compare him to other kids, he is different and God made. Pray for him.
jess2019:
My son will be 9 in October but his behaviour bothers me so much. He acts like a day dreamer. He has turned me into a shouting and miserable mum as I had to beat him after I've exhausted other punishment options. To make this short, I'm going to summarise his behaviour.

He still cannot get himself ready for school in the morning. Either he doesnt cream his body or forgets to comb his hair or doesnt brush his teeth. He forgets to brush his teeth almost everyday. This made me to make a list of step by step sticker. I sticked this on their bathroom mirror and on his bedroom wall. Yet I have to keep reminding him everyday. For example, last week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday he forgot to brush his teeth and hair. I have to constantly be reminding him every morning. He is the only one that brushes teeth after getting ready. I trained them to brush teeth first before shower but he keeps forgetting.

I have to remind him to do his homework, and put it back in his school bag to return to school on Mondays. The book will still not make it to the school even after constant reminder. We've lost countless of lunch bags. One ended up on school roof. If you give him any form to submit back to his teacher. He will forget in his bag so I now give it to his sister to give to his teacher.

He removes his clothes, shoes, pants, belts etc and leave them on the floor, I bought two laundry baskets for him. One in his room, another in their bathroom, yet all his belongings end up on the floor that you can hardly find a space to put a foot. I dont expect him to be perfect but atleast to try so that his 70% clothes make it to the basket or shoes to their racks. He also has a book shelf and desk yet they also end up on the floor.

He plays so much that sometimes he leaves shops with items in his hands. So I have to always watch out for him. Living in a western country where black boys are stereotyped I fear for him. He can stare at the ceiling for hrs when getting ready for school or spend long time in the shower yet not using soap on his body. This usually makes us late unless I step in to help or keep shouting.

If you ask him to do any house chores, he will not do it instead waiting for us to forget so he can get away with it. When grounded not to watch TV, he will still do it once he knows am inside my room or busy with a baby.

Yesterday we revised all his lesson assignments (5 work books). I specifically asked him to put them in his lesson bag. I pointed at the bag. Now I drop him at the lesson only for him to say oh I think I came with old lesson books. I dont know how he ended up with old books in his bag. It could be he planned it as a way to avoid the lesson. If not I wonder how he will remember it himself as soon as I drop him and his sister as this is unlike him.

I've taken him to a doctor incase there is any diagnosis so I can give him all the help he needs but they said it's just his behaviour because according to the doctor he is smart academically. He is 18months ahead of his year level. So they ruled ADHD out.

Politics / Re: IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu Places N1m Bounty On All Igbo Governors by Sinavaramini: 9:39pm On Aug 18, 2019
Nonsense, runaway slowpoke
CGMedia:
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has placed a N1 million bounty on all the governors in the South East region, Igbere TV reports.

This was announced by leader of the group, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, during a worldwide broadcast on the IPOB official Facebook page, on Sunday.

Igbere TV reports that the affected governors are Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Willie Obiano (Anambra).

The announcement comes barely 24 hours after Senator Ike Ekweremadu, immediate past Deputy Senate President, was attacked by members of IPOB in Germany, on Saturday.

Kanu had earlier praised the act of his members, while sending a note of warning to the governors and Chief Nnia Nwodo, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

This is even as the IPOB issued a directive to its members across the world to attack the South East governors anywhere they are seen.

“Any informant with useful information about the presence and whereabout of any (South East) Governor in Europe or America will be rewarded with N1 million”, Nnamdi Kanu said.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Mexican Politician Paraded In Women Clothes For Not Fulfilling Campaign Promises by Sinavaramini: 1:51pm On Aug 16, 2019
We should introduce this for Nigerian politics
YugoMagazine:
Politicians are fond of making big promises they know they can never fulfill just to win the votes of the electorates, and after being voted in, they go after their personal and political interest without minding or even bothering to fulfill the promise they made while being voted in.

That has been the trend for Politicians all over the world, most especially; African Countries.

Politicians often do it because they believe that once they are voted in, nothing can be done by the electorates even if they don’t fulfill their electoral promises.

But, Electorates in Southern Mexico have a way of handling erring and corrupt Politicians, just as they paraded the Mayor of Huixtán Javier Jimenez earlier this week in women long skirt and blouse for not fulfilling his campaign promise, and telling stories which clearly means he can’t even fulfill the promise any longer.

Javier Jimenez was voted Mayor of Huixtán because he promised to improve the Local Water System of Huixtán.

The Mayor of Huixtán was paraded alongside Huixtain trustee ‘Luis Ton’. Javier Jimenez was dressed in a long black skirt and a white blouse with ruffles and flowery embroidery, while the trustee ‘Luis Ton’ was dressed in a bright pink dress with white polka dots.

According to the citizens, the Mayor promised to allocate 3 million pesos (equivalent to about $158,000) for the improvement of the town’s water system when he was contesting for the office and after they made him win, he began telling stories and giving excuses as to why he couldn’t fulfill his electoral promises.

When the mayor was interviewed by the press, he was asked to explain why he hasn’t fulfilled his electoral promise, he informed them that he has been trying hard to fulfill all promises he made to them, but there’s no more money to work on the towns’ water system as it has been shared among various other communities.

While being interviewed, some protesters can be seen in the background carrying placards with his shortcomings written on them, while others could be heard yelling at him not to continue telling lies.

The mayor and his trustee weren’t only paraded around town; they were forced to beg passerby's and motorists for funds to see if they could raise money for the project.

The mayor was detained and paraded around town for four days.

The citizens have begun an investigation to find out if he really allocated the funds to other communities as he claimed earlier, or if he diverted the money for his personal use. The mayor claims he is innocent and is open for investigation and trial.

You are too young and just have a young child, my advice, stop thinking, worrying about this, calm down to avoid health problems, just having baby one month ago, too early, you don't want to go into "post-mortem depression", its a state you don't want to be in. Relax, he will get over it
miss00000:
We met in school during my pre-degree and dated for 7 years before he proposed to me. Before the proposal, both our parents had been pestering us to get married and start having children.

We started trying 6months prior, and 6 months after proposing I got pregnant. Few months later we did our introduction and got married (registry) march this year.

About two years ago, he met a lady where he was supplying his goods. According to him, the lady has been doing everything in her power to push his business. Every time I suspect there was more to their friendship, he always assured me there was nothing, that she's just a friend. sometimes he would even travel with her to Abuja to sell his goods which I had to allow since it was helping his business.

8 months into my pregnancy I noticed a drastic change like coming home very late, he hardly eats at home, he barely talks to memos he's always on his phone. I knew something was wrong and every time I talk to him, he always assured me that everything was fine.

After the delivery and naming of my baby I expected things to go back to the way it was, but it became worse. he changes his phone password almost everyday and still hides his phones from me.

One day I cried and begged him to tell me what was going on, after hours of begging, the first question he asked me was "where was it written in the bible that marriage has to be between one man and one woman and not with different women", "why can't a man marry two or more wives if he has the resources to take care of them equally"(the lady is a muslim btw).

He confessed that he has been dating this lady for over two years and has no plan of leaving her, and theres a possibility he's going to marry her. I'm just 26yo with a one month old baby, I didn't sign up for this.

While growing up, my mum has always warned us against polygamy. although he's promised to be there for me and still wants our marriage to continue, but the thought of my husband being with someone else is killing me. I've tried to reason with him several times but I end up hurting even more. I've been praying but still no change. He's been trying to compensate with gifts and money but thats not what I want. he doesn't want me to tell anyone and I feel reporting him to his family will even worsen the case. We've always settled our issues ourselves without involving anyone. I've tried everything I can just to take my mind off it. I need someone to talk to, prolly a friend or a counsellor. I've been crying for days now, I've not been eating well and I have to breastfeed my child. I never knew my life would be this complicated. I don't know why he got married to me if he already had this in mind. I hate my life right now.

Sick soul, ajá ibi
HeWrites:
Nigerian immigrant, Ayoola Ajayi, who is facing charges in the United States for allegedly killing University of Utah student, MacKenzie Lueck, has been hit with 19 new charges of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Prosecutors said they discovered child pornography in Ajayi’s computer with images of children as young as four years old during investigation into Lueck’s death, Igbere TV reports.

The new charges were filed on Tuesday.

Ajayi, 31, has still not entered pleas to counts of murder and kidnapping of the student.

A probable cause statement for the new charges does not indicate any link between pornography and Lueck.

Ajayi was arrested in June after SWAT personnel responded to an apartment complex in Salt Lake City.

Lueck’s last communications were with Ajayi and both parties’ cell phones were at Hatch Park within less than a minute of each other.

That overlap occurred shortly before Lueck’s online/cellular activity ceased.

Born in Nigeria, Ajayi appears to have briefly explored a career in modelling, according to a profile on ModelMangement.com.

Listing his height as six-foot-one, Ajayi goes on to describe himself as “tall, buffed, funny,” as well as “a victim, Romantic, Violent and character actor [sic].”

The former information technology specialist for the US Army also recently worked for Dell and Goldman Sachs.

My driver also enjoy it too because I buy for him also. Ewa Agoyin, get some things wey dey take cook am, but its everlasting. TOTALLY!!!! ehn, every time I cook rice and stew (fried stew/fish/meat) he'd ask me to go outside the estate to go and buy Ewa(beans) (I'm using Ewa because that's how he pronounces it. So I noticed this earlier and I started Cooking beans anytime I cook rice. He'll still request for 'Ewa' the Mama put beans made and sold by the roadside

While we dated he'd even ask me to cook for himself and his friends and if my cooking was bad, I'd have gotten feedback somehow.. how can I serve food and he'll ask me to go get 'Ewa' at Shangisha Outside Magodo Gra to mix his rice even when we have visitors he will send me a whatsapp message to still go get Ewa most times he'll even book uber if i tell him I'm too tired to drive I'm tired of going to buy Ewa!!

How do i get to know what the problem is, because it's definitely not my cooking, 2 of my office buddies they don't buy lunch because i bring enough food for 3 of us everyday and they'd have stopped eating it if it was bad

Mr Mohammed Ali, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Lagos State Police Command, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday.

He spoke in reaction to public complaints about incessant armed robbery on the Mile 2-Badagry Expressway.

Ali said that the command’s security strategies in the state were still in place, yielding positive results.

According to him, at peak periods, all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) are to monitor traffic situation under them, with a view to decongesting traffic and checking criminals operating during such period.

‘’Our major challenge on the Badagry expressway is the bad road and the articulated vehicles and tankers parked on the road from Mile 2. They are not helping security matter on that road.

‘’The tankers blocked the expressway. Heavy traffic is built up daily and that attracted robbers to operate.

‘’Yet our men are moving round to secure members of the public on that road.

‘’Our monitoring men are all in different parts of the metropolis,’’ he said.

According to him, we have officers sent out from morning till night for traffic control to compliment other traffic officials and monitor black spots on motorcycles, patrol vehicles and foots.

Ali also debunked the allegation that the police always looked other ways when some military personnel and their wards were involved in robbery on the Badagry expressway, particularly around Ojo area of the road.

Ali said: ‘’It is not possible for anyone to commit crime and the police will look the other way; no matter who you are, you will be arrested if you commit crime.

‘’No one is above the law, even if you are a uniform person. Over 100 robbers have been arrested on Badagry Expressway this year alone,’’ he said.

On rape cases in Lagos State, Ali said over 60 persons, including some men who slept with their daughters and got them pregnant were arrested and charged to court.

‘’We don’t waste time on rape cases. Once arrested, there is a special court in Ikeja where the suspects are arraigned immediately.

‘’Rape is a special offence that needs special attention,’’ he said.

Ali also noted that the police did not have to wait for 24 hours before commencing investigation in a case of a missing person, saying that such was not the practice of the command.

‘’The Commissioner of Police did not give such an instruction that the police should wait for 24 hours to start investigation whenever people report a case of a missing person.

‘’That is dangerous to the survival of the victim. We believe that within 24 hours, such a victim should be found.

‘’When any officer receives a report of a missing person, the first thing to do is to make a radio announcement to alert the entire command, so that if such person is kidnapped, the men on the road can look all areas, vehicles and not to wait for 24 hours.

‘’If anyone is found to do that in Lagos Command, such a person will be dealt with, because that is not our practice,’’ Ali said.

For the activities of “No Salary Boys”, Ali said more than 30 of them had been arrested in the last one week, saying that the police were arresting them daily and would continue to raid them.

The ‘’No Salary Boys’’ have been on rampage in the last two weeks in Igando area of the state going from house to house robbing people of their belongings and inflicting injuries on some residents.

Politics / Re: Rivers State Residents Decry Deplorable Roads by Sinavaramini: 8:31pm On Aug 10, 2019
Was these picture taken/reflect during Amaechi or working Governor Nyesom Wike
naijadrivablog:
Rivers State residents have been asking if the Governor, popularly known as Mr. Project, is still living in the state. This is due to the overwhelming poor state of roads across the state.

Major parts of the federal and state roads are bad, thereby increasing the pains and suffering of motorists and other road users.
Some of the affected areas include: Oyigbo (Porthacourt -Aba Road), Ada George road by Location junction, Rumuolumeni, Ikwere road by Market junction, East-West road by Nkpolu, Rukpoku by BigTreat, Rumukwurusi by Sobaz, Rumuodara by Omega House and D/Line by Okija road, among others.

The bad portion of the roads has forced many motorists, especially those plying the notorious Nkpolu and Location junctions, to abandon the route for alternative ways to their destination, which consumes extra time and money.
For example, trip from Rumuokoro to Choba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, which was N100 now goes for between N200 to N300 for taxis using alternative routes while others.

The two-lane of Nkpolu junction has completely collapsed and commercial motorists are having a field day due to the failed road.
Residents face similar challenges in other bad roads across the State. Some car owners prefer to use public transport due to bad roads and traffic gridlocks. The situation, it was observed has slowed business in the state capital.
Criminals take advantage of the bad portion of the road to rob and kidnap residents, especially between 6:00p.m. and 10:00p.m.

Meanwhile, the State Ministry of Works has announced that work would commence at the bad Location junction by Mgbuoba/Ada George Road tomorrow. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Rivers State, Dr. Clifford Ndu Walter, in a statement, informed the public that the axis of the road would be closed to traffic from August 8 till August 10, due to the commencement of rehabilitation work on the road.

He urged commuters and other roads users to use the alternative lane pending when the road is fixed. However, there is no news yet about moves to repair other collapsed roads across the state.

Residents are calling on Governor, Nyesom Wike, also known as Mr Project and the Federal Government to come to their aid.

Politics / Re: Abia Secondary School Teachers Were Last Paid Salaries October 2018 – NLC by Sinavaramini: 7:45pm On Aug 10, 2019
Ca\n this be true?
selingel:
The Abia State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Uchenna Obigwe, says the organised labour in the state had issued a seven-day ultimatum to the state government ahead of an imminent strike over the unpaid arrears of workers’ salaries and allowances in the state.

The ultimatum was contained in a statement jointly issued in Umuahia on Friday by the NLC, Joint Negotiating Council and Trade Union Congress. The group said that the ultimatum was a prelude to an impending strike.

It warned that labour should not be held responsible “for any breach of industrial peace and harmony in the state,” should government fail to address their concerns at the expiration of the ultimatum.

“A labourer deserves his wages,” it stated, adding that the organised labour was not satisfied with the “sectoral pattern of payment of workers’ salaries in the state since the inception of the present administration.”
It also stated that the unwholesome development “has placed an average worker in the state in a beggarly position economically.”

According to a list of the arrears released by the group, primary school teachers were owed three months, while secondary school teachers were last paid in October 2018.

Others include Hospital Management Board (11 months); Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (four months); Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba (13 months) and Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, last paid in April 2018, plus partial payment in May, the same year.

The organised labour said that while the senior staff of the College of Health Science, Aba, were owed nine months, their junior counterparts were owed eight months.

Also, Abia College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu were owed 18 months, Abia State University, Uturu (four months); local government workers last paid in March, plus half salary in October 2018.

The rest were State Education Management Board (SEMB) (eight months); Agricultural Development Programme (14 months), Ministries of Agriculture and Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, one month, respectively.

Labour also said that some agencies of government, including the state Library Board, secondary school teachers, SEMB and Abia Council for Arts and Culture were owed arrears of the N18,000 minimum wage, ranging from 10 to 14 months.

It regretted that while the 2017 leave allowances were partially paid, the 2018 and 2019 allowances had yet to be paid.

It further expressed concern over the government’s failure to pay pensions as and when due, adding that only a few pensioners were paid in November 2017.
It also said that retired civil servants were last paid gratuity in 1999, saying that the development was tantamount to “mercy killing.”

The group further sought explanations on how
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu ’s administration implemented the third and last tranches of the Paris Club refund to the state.

“We are worried over the non-implementation of this directive for the benefit of the workers in the state,” it said. (NAN).
