Well, I guess it's down to personal choices. But as for me, if I'm looking for a balance, I'll go for Alaba, if I'm looking to attack only like Pep, I'll go for Marcelo.

I don't think Pep had anything to do with Ibime's choice of Alaba over Marcelo. You're just reading way too much meaning into a debate.

I agree with Ibime and as a coach also, I'll pick Alaba over Marcelo any day, any time. I'm not saying Marcelo is not good, but defensive wise, Alaba is better for me. Marcelo is very attack minded (attacks more than Alaba for me), but defensively, not so much. Madrid don't have the best defence, there main saviour is their attack and midfield.

With Alaba, I'm getting the best of both worlds - attacking and defending.

With Marcelo, I'm getting the best of one world - attacking.

Bale is a deadwood. Why not go for a player that'll give the team 4-5 years of incorruptible service!
