Nihilstjnr: Martial Pogba and Sanchez have been virtually useless for Manyo this year, barring one or two odd games.
Your most important player today is DDG. He is the only person in that team that is indispensable.
Hugo Lloris has faced 105 shots on target, saved 75 has only 14 cleansheets Cech has faced 124 shots on targets, saved 84...11 cleansheets Courtois has faced 100 shots on target saved 72 ...15 cleansheets De Gea has faced 138 shots on target, saved 113 and has 17 clean sheets
Incase you didnt get it, DDG has saved more shots than Courtois or Lloris have even had to face....and still has more cleansheets than the two of them
DDG is the Closest thing to Neo that football has ever seen. If not for this guy, Sanchez, Lukaku , Pogba etc cannot save you from 6th avenue bro... Yet a United fan will come out to sing praises about Mourinho's defensive masterclass when it's evident to all that DDG is our saviour. Our defence looks strong because of DDG. Replace him with say Cech and we don for concede tire. This is why I prefer Pep's tactics. Ederson has faced the least shot not because City have the best defence, rather they have the best midfield and attack that restricts opponents from even testing their defenders talk more of the keeper. |

raumdeuter: But I quoted many posted who also called Lukaku lazy.
The truth is Lukaku is a physical player, So he will definitely work harder to cover his technical deficiency, Martial is a technical player. Check other attackers like him, How many have to fall back into their own box and still be expected to be upfront in 2 seconds It's not just about tracking back to defend, Martial loiters around the pitch even in opposition's half like he's Prince Charles and the players are to worship him. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sinizia: 4:28pm On May 06, 2018 |
Raumdeuter, I don't blame Mourinho for always defending Ukaku. Tell yourself the truth, even when Ukaku was off form, his work rate was still the best. That's what Ukaku has over many of our lazy players. Ukaku might be suffering loss in form but he'll always work his ass off to help the team win. Same can't be said for Martial and Pogba. |

Leyqute: @stylochime and sinizia
These players aren't just trying. It's the job of the coach to make each position competitive and make his players understand that they have to perform. That's how you keep your players in top form.
Of course this plan of action will be ineffective if these players see their lazier teammates getting play time every week. You're right. Mourinho is the coach, he's to find a way to improve these players. The talents are there, but no harnessing of it. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sinizia: 4:21pm On May 06, 2018 |
raumdeuter: Do you know how many chances Sterling gets in a season? If Mourinho was the coach of Sterling, Do you think with his numerous misses he will be anywhere close to the first team? Vs Man Utd alone, he missed like three 1vs1. Thats Sterling without defensive responsibility.
Do you know how many chances Sane got? Last season many people were even laughing at him I think someone around this section was even laughing at how Guardiola hoped to win in EPl with this German Wright-Phillips Below is an example of the comments about Leroy Sane last season. How did you think he turned into the best young player in the league
But you want Martial who is way more talented to be tracking Brighton players.
Last Friday I saw Martial in Man Utds box making tackles, (One was almost a penalty sef) and 1 game didnt go well, Mourinho quickly came out" Una eye don clear, see the players you wanted me to play" When you lost to Brom, Sevilla Huddersfield and co, why didnt he say the same about Lukaku and Alexis. When Lukaku was ghosting for 2months straight, was this Mourinho not using everything in his power to defend him
This bear a very striking semblance to the same situation KDB faced, where Mourinho claimed he wasnt working hard enough and KDB challenged him to throw an open training session for the fans to see. We know how that ended I typed the post below offline and was about posting it to Oasis007 when I came online now before I saw your post. They both bear an uncanny resemblance. On the flip side, I think Mourinho should be apportioned some parts of this blame game when it comes to Martial. I think Mourinho has to be blamed partially for Martial not being productive enough. Look at Sterling at City. Has Sterling ever been this productive? But under Pep Sterling has been producing goals and assists in double figures. You can't deny that Pep has pushed Sterling to up his game.
Even Salah sef. We know he's talented, but he's having his best season under Klopp. Klopp deserves some credit for it because he's provided the right players and the perfect tactics to get the best out of Salah. Loserfool's front 3 is blessed with pacy players, who are intelligent as well and can read moves of each other as well as make intelligent moves for Salah to feed them. Firmino is not like your typical battling bull of a striker. He's an intelligent 9 that can spot Salah’s moves and combine with him to an electrifying effect.
So, I think Mourinho can make Martial up his game in a right set-up and with the right tactics. |

Oasis007: I'm kinda getting fed up of Martial too. It's apparent he ain't giving 100% on the Pitch, hence - at this Point - I wouldn't mind adding few Bucks to him for a swap Deal to get Dybala. Martial feeds off the press that praises his skills and act like Mourinho has to play him all the time because he's talented. Talent alone can't help him cut it at the top. He needs to be serious and be consistent. I'll definitely choose Rashford on that wing over him a million times. I hate lazy players with passion. KDB is not just great because he's talented. KDB is great because he's talented, consistent and very hard working. Pogba and Martial have the first trait of KDB but lacks the latter two and that's why they can't move to the next level. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sinizia: 3:31pm On May 06, 2018 |
stylochime: people blame Mou for our players attitude but is it really is fault? Yes he partly to blame for team selection and tactics but the main issue here is that very little of our players have the right mix of ability and drive. Smalling is reliable but very technically limited, young and valencia same have the same problem. Pogba is fucking talented but sometimes plays like he was forced on the pitch. Herrera is driven but technically limited. Lingard is also driven but technically limited. Lukaku is driven but technically inconsistent. Rashford is hardworking bt sometimes he behave like a senseless idiot. Martial is talented but likes everything to be in his favour for him to thrive. The only players that display passion despite thier talents are possibly only De Gea Bailly nd Sanches.
I love Martial but i hate the fact that he can‘t be aggressive. For me the only blame i put on Jose is the fact that he isn‘t ruthless enough. Not just about coming tothe press room and talking. I need him to weild the axe on those players who are not good enough and kicked them out. Infact even those who are good enough but don‘t show enough desire and disciplined should be kicked out. Our match against Brithon was terrible and it had nothing to do wit tactics or setup. Our player were behaving like drunk men on the pitch. I don't blame Mourinho for Martial's lackadaisical displays. Martial acts like he's god and doesn't deserve stress. Too lazy off the ball. I blame Mourinho for Pogba's laziness because everybody knew Pogba is just a show-off with talents, yet Mourinho bought him and plays him to help shield our defence, something Pogba sucks at. I blame Mourinho totally. As for smalling, why haven't sold him off if he knows he's not defensively strong? The Lindeolf he bought turned out to be below average. |

Leyqute: Look at Sterling. He was fouled and the linesman was waving his flag vigorously yet he played on- even before the ref had the chance to stop play. He was fouled again after a tussle and then the ref blew the whistle, before handing the first fouler a yellow.
I no go mind make Martial and Pogba get that kind agidi I may be amongst those wishing Martial be given more chances, but I know for a fact that Martial is a mental midget. He acts lackadaisical on the pitch. He plays without determination. Just because he has the talents doesn't mean every opposition will get scared when he's with the ball. He doesn't grab the few chances he's given to impress the coach. Against Brighton, even though Rashford had a torrid time, he's the only amongst the trio of Mata, Martial and him, who was pushing hard and trying to cause the defenders problems. His work ethic is why Mourinho values him above Martial. Martial is just a bag of skills without a zeal and in football, your talent is not just good enough. |

I feel nothing but Rage at Mourinho when I remember our BEST and ONLY reliable LB is a 34-years-old. Once Val is not playing our RB dies no matter who else plays there. In short, our wing play dies coz he plays both as a RB and RW. On this match, our RB and RW has been unsurprisingly ineffective. Mata and Darmian are useless on both positions.
Yet, Mourinho deemed it fit to loan out TFM with the moronic hope that Val will play all our games or what? Next season, if I don't see a quality RB, RW and DM, I will quit supporting Mourinho. Of as a fan I can see our weakness and a coach can't see it after 2 seasons, then he's not worth supporting. Mtcheew. |

Just take a look at the Terrible Fellaini that's on the media talking trash and bragging about holding United by the balls when it comes to his contract renewal. Very terrible midfielder.
No vision. Zero passing skills. Poor control with the feet. Only strength is his height.
I don't blame you one bit. I blame the archaic and obtuse cûnt of a coach that wants to keep you even though it's clear to all that you're not United material. I blame the recalcitrant coach that's begging you stay but will turn around to say his team is not good enough. The team is average yet he's fighting to keep our deadwoods. Pep would have thrown away Fellaini even he arrived to take control of our club. Only Mourinho without tactic, with preference for strength over intelligence will beg you to stay.
Next season, the kind of players we sign will determine if I'll support Mourinho or withdraw my suppory. Rubbish. |

Eruditor: I am not reading too much. Once Ibime has an agenda he goes at it full throttle (See Emenalo for example).
What I would say is, Marcelo’s defending is underrated because of what he does going forward. Alaba had potential but he has depreciated a bit. If you are hyping Alaba because of Tuesday’s showing then recency bias is what is causing it. Remember that Vasquez (who is no Rb) played that position so even daddy Ribery was feeding.
Even Sandro that they hyped earlier on cannot lace Marcelo’s boot. I don't personally underrate Marcelo's defending, I just feel if he can strike a balance between attacking and defending, he'll be the perfect LB in the world. But that notwithstanding, I think he's the best in the game presently, just that he's defensively not great which I want my defenders to be. |
