SIRcumalot:Na lie. Pogba won't put in the effort MC or Matic puts in DEFENSIVELY. If he'd played, Rashford might have missed out and it would've cost us. |
Odunharry:Ukaku has really improved in recent times. |
Am I the only United fan that celebrated Pogba's missing of our game? When I read the news I was like. . .
|
Nihilstjnr:Why shame go catch am? The keywords you're ignoring in that speech is "after the 3rd goal." Matic scored that winner a minute into extra time, if we had decided to attack more the thunder that fired Real Madrid in last year's El Classico would've fired us coz of our greed. In this kind of scenario, with about a minute less to play, if Mourinho decides to bring in his coaching staff to help defend, nobody would blame him. We're okay with Ukaku playing as a defensive strike back sef in situations like this. ![]() |
chrisley024:One good thing about Pep's brand of football is that his team will usually score first, and scoring destabilises opponents giving his team the chance to score more and more. But when a team sets up to attack only after going a goal down, they spend the majority of the match trying to equalise instead of scoring more or killing off an opponent. |
Vanquay:Yesterday, the Shaw I saw is not ready to displace a pathetic Young. We must never start next season without 2 YOUNG full-backs to replace Young and give Valencia a run for his money. |
In addition to my last entry, Neville said something few weeks back which I agree with. He said something like United doesn't need to buy all the top players to be great again, that what we need is for Mourinho to create an ideantity out of this team FIRST AND FOREMOST, and the add one or two additions and the team is back in business. I agree with him, because this team have no identity yet. We look clueless till we're losing. What Pep did last season was to bring a style he wanted for his players. He went about impacting that knowledge in them. He gave them the identity he wants them to operate under, sold off the wastes that couldn't play like he did, bought the players he wanted and made them play with the style he'd already taught most of the team. What we see now is an unstoppable machine. If we like we can buy Dybala and even Neymar join. As long as Mourinho has not laid a successful pattern for the team to operate with, we're going nowhere. |
raumdeuter:I agree with you 101%. Truer words have never been spoken. Pep Guardiola's teams, be it Barcelona, Bayern or City, will attack you from the first minute to the end with endless waves of pressing. By doing so, they get all the possession, put their opponents under pressure, neutralise their attacking threats. They don't relax by waiting to counter their opponents like United did against City, they relax by HOLDING THE BALL AND PASSING IT AROUND BEAUTIFULLY like against Chelsea. This way, they won't stand the chance of conceding, rather they toy with their opponents and if chance develops, they score more and more. That's why Pep said he'll retire if he stops playing attacking football. I get really pissed that with all the pace and attacking threats we have, Mourinho will set up my team to defend and then hope for a lucky chance to score, or wait till they're losing before attacking. It's annoying. We had to be losing before Mourinho realised his mistake and attacked with vigour yesterday. It's up to Mourinho to force them to attack from the beginning till end, any player that can't adhere to his tactic, off he goes. |
obainojazz:We need 2 SOLID midfielders and RW above any other position. Carrick and Fellaini are leaving and I don't trust Mctominay yet. Then the RW. If Mourinho ignores that wing next season, I'll instantly label him an incompetent coach. |
obainojazz:LWKMD. Emenalo better pass any of our scouts honestly. |
Oasis007:Hopefully Valencia, Bailly and Pogba are available against Sevilla. I no wan see Smalling and Lindeolf in that line-up next week. |
slimghost:I'll clearly look at it again after the match. However, the VAR delays a lot. |
The commentators just said Mata wasn't offside. |
obainojazz:We have the worst scouts ever. How on earth did someone scout Lindeolf and Smalling and yet he's alive |
Improved display in this half TBH. |
Mctominay was clueless today sha. |
Cruxifizio:
|
Lana1:I just hope they don't bring it to the World Cup, it will leave a sour taste in our mouth with all the delaying and inconsistencies |
obainojazz:There's a big difference between us and City. City have never been this horrible through out this season. We're playing nothing, absolutely nothing in the first-half. |
Matic brain dey touch sometimes. Too much over-confidence. |
afrodoc2:I totally agree with you on this. He's not helping Shaw at all especially seeing that we're under pressure. |
Ukaku ![]() |
ChristineC:The million dollar question and why I think Mourinho doesn't merit his new contract. |
joeace2020:I'm telling myself the truth, Mourinho has lost it. I know when to blame the coach, but as for this shambolic display, Mourinho is at fault. Tell me one thing to commend about our play? What exactly is Mourinho teaching this lads in training? SMH!! |
chrisley024:Worst United game I've watched in a long while. Our midfield is totally collapsed. Matic and Mctominay ghosting. Our wing is dead, Mata is in the midfield. Then our defence is totally useless. How on earth are Lindeolf and Smalling still playing for us? Shaw caught napping on several occasions. His wing is dead. Sanchez not doing enough. The team is in shambles. How on earth did Mourinho deserve a new contract when his team is playing nonsense? No tactics, no good stringing of passes together. Nothing!! |
GloryIsaac:Not the players, but the press. |
Skimpletyger:I stand with Mou 101%. If the rumors are true, and Madrid are interested in Pogba, if we can convince them to buy Pogba for 150m, he'd fùck off to Madrid. I won't miss him. I've not really liked him with his show-offs anyway. Undermining the team because Sanchez earns more than him. May thunder strike his blockos there. If he can't buckle up and help the team to win, if he can't admit that's he's been shitty these past few matches, he'd go. United comes first before any player. Nobody is begging him, he's neither Messi or Ororo. Nonsense!! |
Lana1:I've said it before, Roy Keane may misyarn sometimes about United, but you'll never catch me offline or online disrespect that man. Maybe it's because I share some of his "olden days" mentality. These modern day players are just over-pampered crybabies with zero fûcks about their clubs. All they know is money and flashy life. Players sacrifice all the time. Guardiola has played KDB out of position in some matches, yet the ninja keeps delivering match after match. He doesn't whine. Messi sacrificed his CF position for Suarez, yet he's delivering. Delph was played out of position, yet he's delivering. Aguero was benched in some matches after Jesus arrived, he worked hard and proved Guardiola wrong. Rashford has sacrificed his CF position and yet heaven hasn't fallen. But with Pogba, you'll read all kinds of ridiculous excuses. Last season we debated his position all through. This season he's still in this position alongside Matic when he's in an incredible form earlier. They said Matic had liberated him to work his magic. But now that he's playing rubbish, suddenly it's the position that's to be blamed. It's only Pogba that the team MUST play to his strengths without him sacrificing to play for the team's strength. Pogba this, Pogba that. Mans can never accept he needs to do more. I seriously doubt all these bullshît rumors, and I'll stick with Mourinho's words that it's all lies. I agree with Mourinho that Pogba just hasn't been playing well which is normal for every player. Mourinho is also not totally innocent by not realising that Pogba can't defend well, and is more suited up front. But if it's true that Pogba is jealous of Sanchez and is using Raiola to get a pay raise, then he's very mad and thunder should fire him there!! |
sebod:Just seeing this now. . . Sincere apologies from the depth of my heart if my rebuttal rubbed you off the wrong way. It's just that since the Sanchez saga ended in our favor, the kind of posts I've read from Pep's fans got me feeling some type of way. Concerning the criticisms of Pep. I think you've got to get used to it. It comes with the territory. It's the price Pep and other coaches + players must pay for being famous. Every coach or at least most coaches will tell you they've felt bad with the kind of criticisms they've been subjected to. Wenger has been facing barrage of criticisms, good or bad, fair or unfair, from virtually everybody. Even Arsenal's ex-players have called for his sack. Celebrity fan like Piers Morgan want him out. He gets abused monthly on Arsenal FanTV. Klopp nko? He's always under pressure. You see the likes of Carragher and Gary on his case, condemning his players, his choice of goalkeepers etc. Mourinho's own is like everyday greeting. What about Conte? If you feel Pep gets the worst criticism then you must have not heard about Conte complaining that media is biased towards him. Papers must sell. Pundits must write. Analysts must scrutinise every move. They get paid that way. It's the source of their incomes. Fans must discuss and dissect their decisions. It's something that's been happening before I was born, it will never stop. It's not different from what Trump or Buhari faces every day of their regins. And even after their tenure, they'd still be talked about. So, long after Pep is gone, he'll still be talked about, his positives, praised; his negatives, laid to bare. Just get used to it. |

, for all his awesome abilities he still needs a particular position to perform. I just tire for the boy, initially Matic was meant to make things easy for him, that one has tried his best, Pogba still no gree
