eph12:We just need Assnal to do the Lord's work and keep Nihilist humble, and also get him off the shayos that's spurring him on. |
Nihilist:So one can't make mistake again? He's saying words from the spot and is bound to get some things wrongly said jor. You're trolling. Na your way. ![]() Oya, coman anbee goin to that dinghy mud house of a Shekpe thread. ![]()

elampiro:It's rule implemented by Pep at Barcelona where he tasked his players "to recover a misplaced pass or lost ball from their opponents under 6 secs". What we saw was a high octane pressing from the entire team once they lost a ball, rushing opponents like a pack of wolves, and inevitably forcing them to kick away the ball (or give away the ball in dangerous positions like Fabregas against Barcelona which Arsenal were punished for) under immense pressure which his players will then collect and recycle, and start dominating you all over again. If Messi loses the ball, he chases the player with the ball, while Eto, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquet and Co closes down "the free players of the opponents" which the opponent with ball will pass to. He's now forced to kick the ball away or give it to his goalie to kick it away. Once the goalie does that, Pique, Busquet and other defenders win it back fast and continues dominating again. It's why Pep hardly lose possession, it's how he defends, and it's no surprise that City are playing with that same style |
PietroRico:Who trolls immediately after his birthday? Only Nihilist. Trolling annoyingly. ![]() |
Nihilist:He meant the real CONTROLLER in that midfield was Pirlo. Does it mean Pogba is a fake footballer? He's not reading from an article so he will get some words wrongly said |
Nihilist:You're right. He said that. Actually, I've given Pirlo and Vidal the most praise in that midfield when I was putting out my defence on why we shouldn't buy Pogba for 89m. I side with Scholes on this one that Pirlo was the major midfielder controller at Juventus, though I don't agree that Pogba was just a runner for that team. Pogba controlled the game too but not as good as the majestic Pirlo. The runner for me is Vidal with his boundless energy. But you cunningly neglected the part he said "he's the player to win you games". Not every midfielder will control the midfield like Pirlo, it doesn't take away their value for the team. Pogba can't control the midfield like KDB or Xavi, I agree, but he's a goal threat, intelligent and can control the midfield to a good extent. |
elampiro:Just imagine. Very very disgusting from our players and Mourinho their coach. Mourinho has to shoulder the blame coz it's up to him to make his team cover much ground. |
elampiro:Actually, even last season, United covered the least ground among the top 5. In short don't be surprised if for the last 4 seasons, we've covered the least grounds amongst the top 5. That's been the theme of our play for years now. We play lazy football. We start brightly, score and start loitering about, soaking up pressure. It's what we've complained about that Jose has to add more urgency and speed to our game play. We have to have to attack more, close down opponents faster so we can snuff any threat they will unleash. That's one thing Tottenham, Chelshit, City and Co have over us. Guardiola has implemented the "6 secs rule" and it's working like Magic for City. Mourinho needs to make this guys press harder as a way of defending. |
Nihilist:Drop the link where he said those lines before I believe you. The same "The Revenant" which you describe as a wildlife documentary? Nothing savagery about his statement if it's being compared to the gore in a wildlife documentary. ![]() |
PietroRico:You sure about that? Dortmund sacked Klopp? |
Nihilist:Same way Hazard is a one corner activity former with a Belgian heritage. Real Madrid Begging too hotty. ![]() |
PietroRico:Heat map is basically anywhere you went to on the pitch, it's not a correct benchmark to determine distance covered. Someone could've been to many places on the pitch but with a lazy motion. Scholes also talked about the whole team being lethargic, maybe you missed it. “United look a tired team, they look like they have played 50 or 60 games this season already and we are half way through. I know the crowd were quiet but you have to give them something. They gave them absolutely nothing, it was dead out there.Let's move on from it. Happy new year, bro. |

PietroRico:That classic approach have gotten him falling out with everyone at his past two clubs and getting removed. It may have been tolerated when he's still heralded as the best thing after Ferguson, right now it's no longer working. |
PietroRico:Scholes said that after a run of 3 uninspiring draws and Pogba didn't necessarily cover himself in glory or stand out particularly in those matches, so Scholes was right. Scholes added:With the way Pogba and Matic had "snail-like" performance against Southampton, Scholes was doubting his fitness because he wasn't covering much ground which a player that's fit like Pogba should try and do. Mentioning the £90m may be going too far considering how Pogba has improved earlier this season but Scholes still said this below. "No-one in England should be getting near him, but he is being asked to do a role he is not comfortable in.That was Scholes reaffirming Pogba's quality and talent and expecting him to do more. He also blames Mourinho for playing him in a position that doesn't allow him showcase his talent optimally. What we saw the next match (yesterday) was Mourinho moving Pogba forward and changing his tactic. We also saw Pogba putting in the shift that Scholes was talking about. So you see, that criticism can be said in playing a part in our changed game yesterday. |
PietroRico:We'll have to agree to disagree on that then coz we share different views on that issue. But just note that, it's natural that Neymar's display should be "better" or at least "there will be a higher level of expectation" from him than with a wing-forawrd that cost £10m. £200m is enough money to expect a certain kind of performance from Neymar. There's a reason people are more on Hazard's case but not on Willian who's considered a waste. Your reputation will determine the kind of expectation you'll get. |
PietroRico:He'd find a better way to "deflect attention from his squad". He's not the only coach under criticism. Klopp and Conte have had their fair share of criticism, but they used another approach to handle it. The "classic Mourinho" approach is bringing more haters for us. Due to his excessive complaints United have become the butt of jokes via memes on various social media. It's this "classic Mourinho" approach that made Conte fall out with him. It's why Conte doesn't even want to shake him. He talks about other clubs excessively. Did you read his "big club small club" comments about Chelsea, Arsenal and Co? Was that really necessary? He'd have found another way to pass his message. Chelsea fans loved him to death before, his loose mouth has cost him that reverence. I've talked about a BBC pundit called Garth Crooks who used to moan about Pogba's hair last season and people backed him because Pogba wasn't playing well. This season he tried it and got no supporter because Pogba had started playing well. So even if Mourinho was complaining about other clubs but his team kept producing good results, nobody will bat an eyelid. But in a scenario where your team is struggling, and instead of focusing on how to arrest the slump you're busy talking of Man City, Pep, Chelshit, Assanal and Klopp, don't expect any form of sympathy coz people will see you as a nagging wife even if you're right. |
elampiro:And all these things are what many fans find very annoying. It's what I've complained about last 2 days. Mourinho has virtually complained about everybody, from fans to rival coaches/clubs to ex-players and United board. He might be right in some of his complaints or even in all of them, but when he keeps whining constantly, nobody will support him. He brings bad publicity and it's damaging his reputation. He'd stop the unnecessary blame and focus on his players. |
PietroRico:Last season Pogba played this same role in some matches and struggled as well so it's not all down to the system. So while the system helped, Pogba showed resilience and put in an energetic display personally. A coach can change a system and the players still decide not to show up. Pogba deserved credit for actually upping his game. |
|
elampiro:I concur. There's nothing "excessive" about Scholes' criticism. Mourinho just needed someone to talk about. He's mentioned Pogba earning more money than a critic due no fault of Pogba's last season in defence of Pogba, he's done it again. Of what need is reminding us that Pogba is richer than Scholes in that defence of Pogba? If Pogba is richer than Scholes, who cares? Many footballers are richer than all the pundits, but the pundits still get to say their minds which might be wrong or right. Scholes talked about Pogba strolling on the pitch last match which was 100% true. Didn't we point it out here before the match ended? Was Scholes wrong in that accessment of Pogba's performance? Absolutely not. So, Mourinho should not while defending his players, which is good by the way, try to dismiss a constructive criticism. |
dopeJemi:KDB keeps it simple to the end, but he's not as skillful as Pogba. No dribbles or leg-overs from KDB. Kroos keeps it simple to the end too. |
olabode89:Well said. Jose is yet to find that "system". When he does get it, then with quality purchases, things will align well for him. He's still confused on how to get the best out of his team, the injuries are not helping matters too. Many of our players, players that are valuable to Mourinho are in the sickbay. |
patrickmuf:He needs to continue like this, then buy quality players and get them to join their new team-mates in the tactic. The tactic is very important. |
CapitalCee:Exactly. Ukaku is tall and huge and defenders' magnet. CBs will always try to mark him hard, so Mourinho can employ the Tottenham trick. While Ukaku keeps the defenders busy, and our wing-backs in a 3-man defence system patrol the wings regularly, one of the wing-forwards can then sneak regularly to do the Lord's work for us. While the defenders are focusing on Ukaku, Lingard, Martial and Co will sneak in and score. I need Ukaku back ASAP. Ibra can stay injured, I no send am. |
Make we enjoy this rare victory abeg. No need fighting. It's just a misunderstanding. Cc: Slimghost and DopeJemi |
CapitalCee:He scores the most important and best goals for us. If he had consistency, we'd have gotten a gem in our team. |
CapitalCee:Yes, Ukaku has poor finishing/technical ability, that's why if we've someone that can score and ghost in behind defenders like Martial did against Tottenham, we wouldn't be much worried with Ukaku's poor finishing coz he'd more like a player to give defenders a torrid time while the SS scores. |
Lana1:Watford |
elampiro:It's why I suggested Mourinho try out another formation like 352, or a 343 with the wing-forwards instructed to cut in most times, in order to provide Ukaku with another partner to help reduce the scoring burden on him. A partner that can ghost in behind the defenders while Ukaku drags them wide. |
Now that Jesus is injured, City will be all out to snatch Sanchez. If only Wenger will refuse selling till season ends. I don't know if KDB's injury is serious, but if he's injured along with that genius called Silva for up to 3 months, City will lose momentum and things can finally balance. I need KDB and Silva out with injury so this City side will lose form. |
Leyqute:On the RUN as always. |
