Nihilist:I thought this rain ish affects only those in 9ja? |
Luiz, rock of Gibraltar. Nice body bagging there. |
JayKayMaybachz:Lol. I need a goal in this match from Sanchez. After which he can lose form. |
Hazard in. Wahala dey. |
Sanchez Nwa amama coming in. I need a goal from you, Bro. |
This unutilised chances might come back to hurt Assanal. |
Draw result wouldn't be bad at all in this match. Oluwa make it happen. |
Lana1:LMAO |
Jesu!! Wetin Lacasera miss? |
Morata lacks physical strength. EPL won't wait for him to develop that strength, he needs to man up immediately. |
Pedro deserved to be castrated. What a miss. |
Kolanut dey ball o. Wenger bought a good LB in him. |
See Welbeck o. What a miss. ![]() |
Na wa o. This is turning into a new trick. Same style, same players involved. Azpi crosses same pattern of football for Morata to head in. Same trajectory. He just did it now just that Morata was offside. Managers should try to curtail this cross and nod from Azpi and Morata. |
elrony:Adelana wey an away before camp finish na em you dey ask that kain kweshion? ![]() Even if you promise Lana fresh Adamawa babes every day of the week, em no go gree stay. A friend of mine was gisting me of his travails at Adamawa camp, how sun wan turn am to Noobsaibot and how flies dey drag space with am, I laugh wan break leg. ![]() |
elrony:LOL. Na Adamawa sun don fry Lana ogor. No blame am. ![]() |
afrodoc2:Exactly. I don't understand what made Mourinho go defensive for a midtable team (at best) that top teams destroyed easily last season. Maybe he looked at our past record under failures like LvG and Moyes and didn't believe he could win. If it's Guardiola, he'd have attacked and pressed Stoke like bobbi without fear and probably win them. Mourinho is still thinking this is the Stoke of Pulis era. If Mourinho doesn't change this defensive mindset against every top team he meets, we're not going to aim for greater things. Pep might be accused of being tactically naive, but he always pushes his team to attack and not go defensive against every top team out there. |
elrony:LOL. pastor Elrony, did I miss anything in your post? I wasn't trying to castigate you o, neither was I trying denigrate Mhiki. I was just trying to point out that KDB was the better player as it seemed that you weren't in accord with that view. But no lele. That one don pass. ![]() |
joeace2020:Have you thought about it this way, maybe, just maybe, if Mourinho didn't act like a pûssy and played with our working 4-2-3-1 instead of fearing Stoke and adding extra body (Hererra) in the midfield, we'd have taken them to the cleaners? There's nothing spectacular about Stoke, Mourinho was just too afraid to trust Matic to safeguard the defence as he's been doing. |
odizeey:Let's agree to disagree then. |
raumdeuter:
|
raumdeuter:Nah, you're getting me wrong. If you can remember, I wasn't arguing against "settlement" not being a factor, but that it wasn't the ONLY factor. I mentioned other factors like tactics, quality additions etc. Can you honestly rate the additions of Milan highly? Apart from Bonnuci and the upcoming Portugal striker who's yet to be rated among top strikers, which of their acquisitions are top or highly rated players? Settlement is the least of the factors if you ask me. Apart from Sandro and Klaassen (Vlasic is not an integral part of their squad), Everton added EPL players like Keane, Sigurdsson, Rooney, etc., to their squad. So against a City team who added more foreigners like Danilo, Silva, Ederson, Mendy etc., do you expect Everton to win simply because they added players already settled in EPL than City? Settlement is a factor but not much of a factor. Luis and Alonso didn't need settlement to help Chelshit win league. It's down to the coach, change of tactics and playing with a good team. |
odizeey:This is not about being baby fans or fearing City. This is just recognising that KDB is a better player than Mhiki. What's wrong in praising a rival? So because Arsenal are our rivals we can't agree that Sanchez is a talented player? |
elrony:Don't even play yourself, KDB is a supreme talent. Apart from maybe dribbles, when it comes to general midfield play and mainly assists, KDB shits on Mhiki. It doesn't mean that Mhiki ain't good, but he's not on KDB's level for now. Maybe as time goes on, but definitely not presently. |
We drew a match we'd have won convincingly no thanks to Mourinho's stupidity. Every blame for this draw goes to Mourinho. His ist mistake led to this uninspiring draw. Like they said, if it ain't broke don't fix it. We had a 4-3-2-1 formation that had won us 3 games, suddenly Mourinho foolishly switched to 4-3-3 for no sane reason. Changing the 4-3-2-1 formation led us playing without a 10. I posted an article here that emphasised on Mhikitaryan being at his best at 10. I've complained about Mourinho playing Mhikitaryan on the wings. I've complained that Pogba acting as a 10 doesn't favor us. His free role to dictate play fits him. We've also loved the Pogba-Matic combo even though it meant Mourinho benching our beloved Hererra. But today, all these complaints we warned about surfaced. Blind benched. Mhiki on the wings. Pogba moving forward to act as 10. Hererra and Matic who does the same thing playing reducing the creativity we'd have have if Mhiki was our 10 and Pogba is freed to dictate things while Matic does the bodyguarding. All these faults just coz Mourinho decided to go with a formation that was never needed. 2 points drop. Next match, I expect Darmian to start and Mhiki pushed to the wings again. SMH. |
joeace2020:Blame Mourinho not LvG. Blind is not dead. He's on the bench yet Mourinho went with Darmian. |
Mystic1:His only job is to chop free weekly wages. Waste of squad number. I wish he can get injured and get sold off!! |
eph12:The goal aside, Darmian is -1 for us. Offers absolutely nothing. Attack, zilch. Defense - below average. |
Lana1:You remember last match when I think Lequtě or someone criticised Blind for being caught missing during counter-attack? I defended Blind coz he provided an attacking outlet for us against a side parking the bus. With Blind or Shaw, you can be assured they help out in attack. But what keeps shocking me is how Mourinho keeps playing Darmian at LB. I'm here asking myself, what is so hard for Mourinho to comprehend that Darmian offers nothing going forward or defensively? At least Blind is good in attack. Darmian is good at NOTHING. How on earth are we going to play a full season with average LBs? I was weak immediately I saw Darmian in the line-up. This LB issue will come back to haunt us. Mourinho's decision sometimes leaves me dumbfounded. SMFH!! |
raumdeuter:Like Mourinho pointed out, he "hopes" for United to stand strong when such situations arises, but he also pointed out that he's not sure for other clubs, other small clubs without the financial power like United to say no or make the player being pursued not have his head turned. This rule was made mostly to protect the average clubs with lesser financial backing, but as with every other law or rule, the big clubs will still have their way at the end. I remember when Abrahimovic came unto the scene and spent lavishly to break the dominance United and Arsenal had on EPL. Then City, PSG and Co started theirs and Wenger cried out, FFP was introduced to curb the menace. What happened? After the IGG, top clubs still found a way to play dirty causing Wenger to confess yesterday that FFP is powerless to stop rich clubs. It's same thing that'll happen in this scenario. The top clubs will still have their ways, but this time around it'll affect only EPL if others don't join. Life's not fair, the big clubs will keep enjoying more benefits no matter what. You know the major reason Coutinho didn't leave for Barcelona this TW was coz he had no buy-out clause and so couldnt pull the Neymar stunt who had one and once it's paid, bought his way to freedom. So what happens to all these average clubs where their players have buy-out clauses? Imagine TW had already close and Hull City's star player with a buy-out clause of 40mil who the club had managed to keep away from the EPL wolves suddenly receives interest from Barcelona [after chasing another target and couldn't get him so turned towards Hull City's star player] who are willing to pay his buy-out clause and the player hands in a transfer request. What will Hull City now do? The player wants to leave and his buy-out clause will be paid. When Hull City sells coz they have no choice, how will they replace him when the TW is already closed for EPL? They might even lose more players before the TW of other leagues closes since they can sell but not buy. So you see that while United might not suffer, small clubs can. You also see for players like Mbappe who was chased for over 3 months by Madrid, City, PSG etc., when EPL TW closes, PSG and Madrid now have the upperhand to buy him. This is an unfair advantage for other leagues. My stance is, if other leagues don't join EPL in this rule, then EPL should stop the rule or they will lose out. Also, it's stupid for EPL teams to be able to sell but can't buy because once TW closes and they lose a player, they can't replace him. The England FA needs to come up with a law stopping teams from selling too once the TW closes. |
http://www.goal.com/en/news/premier-league-shoots-itself-in-the-foot-with-transfer/8b28w1tdnpnh1sdjo3aqnarn2 I never supported this decision since EPL teams can still sell but can't buy. In this era where some deals take up to 2 months and even more to finalise, EPL teams will lose out for sure. This decision is stupid UNLESS ALL THE EUROPEAN LEAGUES WILL JOIN THE MOVEMENT. And like the write pointed out, if an EPL team are chasing a player who's a hot property for instance alongside other teams from other leagues, when the TW closes for EPL, it makes it more easier for other leagues' teams to swoop in and buy the player. It most importantly costs EPL teams the opportunity to get that player. This decision will come around to bite them on the azz. Raumdeuter, this is another angle you'd see this dumb decision from. It might SEEM to provide a level playing ground for EPL teams, but it won't with other leagues. What do you think? |
Chelseafan1:Dude, I don't know how our CL sojourn will pan out. I'm not going to get ahead of myself and rate our chances high just on the back of 3 wins over 3 average teams. UCL is a different ball game and, for the fact that we've been far away from our glory days means I can't be too confident on a team still trying to get back to the top. I expect us to qualify from our group, but any other expectation will be formed depending on our form by January. Realistically, for now, I'll say round of 16 or quarter-final at most is where we can get to. |
