Noo. Southerners wake up. This must be rejected. Why now?:Their evil and satanic plan is for the incoming southern president so that they won't be paid in their own coin and that the southern president won't be able to sack the nepostistically appointed Fulani service chiefs.. We southerners reject this in its entirety. We must unite and put aside ethnic, religious and political differences. |

Mariangeles: Get your facts right first before you argue.
Jesus Christ chose 12men (apostles) to help him in His ministry, but He had many disciples, both male and female. You are 100% wrong. There were 12 disciples. Apostles are numerous. The 12 disciples are the direct followers of Jesus, who had direct and close relationship with him. |

Mariangeles: Disciples or Apostles? Because women were part of Jesus Christ’s disciples. They were 12 disciples. They were not Apostles. An Apostle is a preacher which any Christian can be. For example Paul was an Apostle not disciple. Hence Apostle Paul. |

Just thinking about it. Why was there no woman among Jesus' disciples? What do you think? |

Business › Understanding Asset Base by Sinudyne(op): 10:14pm On Jun 26, 2021*. Modified: 11:55am On Jul 03, 2021 |
Meaning of Asset Base Asset base is the totality of assets held by a company that gives value to the business entity. The value placed on the assets is not fixed and can fluctuate as the company buys and sells new assets. Although such shifts in valuation are normal, large swings in the value of the assets are often viewed as a red flag by analysts and external stakeholders. A company’s asset base may serve as collateral for a bank loan or other forms of credit.
Meaning of Asset-Based Valuation The asset-based approach is the most commonly used valuation method, as it is comprehensive in nature and entails a thorough analysis of what the business owns. It involves using the assets and liabilities values on the balance sheet: Asset-based valuation is based on the value of, not the recorded balance of, the assets and liabilities on the balance sheet. The standard valuations used are fair value and fair market value. Balance sheets based on the GAAP usually exclude most internal intangible assets even though they may represent a major source of value for a company. The asset-based approach, however, takes into consideration all of the company’s assets (both tangible and intangible) and liabilities (both recorded and contingent).
When to use Asset-based Valuation Approach The asset-based valuation approach is the generally accepted method for valuing a company. An analyst looks at four factors when valuing a business:
1. Type of company With regard to the type of company, the asset-based approach can be used by companies that own both tangible and intangible assets. Therefore, the valuation can be used for asset holding companies and asset operating companies. Virtually all businesses fall into one of these two categories.
2. The company’s line of business Business interests can also affect valuation. The asset-based approach is used to value the overall business and is usually performed during the purchase or sale of the business, or a merger or acquisition. It is also used when the price of the business is directly related to its tangible and intangible assets and not the value of its stock.
3. Types of transactions in the business The asset-based valuation method is used for taxable transactions to secure financing, as various creditors place a different value on the assets of the business.
4. Availability of data Lastly, the amount of information available can also affect an analyst’s ability to use this valuation approach. If there is no access to asset-specific information or if there’s been a substantial change(s) in the value of tangible or intangible assets since their valuation date, it can impede the analyst’s ability to use the method.
Asset-based Approach vs. Cost-based Approach Asset-based valuation is commonly used to value businesses, while the cost-based approach is used to value property. The former approach measures the business equity while the latter approach estimates the individual value of tangible and intangible assets. The cost-based approach can be used to value various tangible and intangible assets, but for a business that expects to operate long into the future, it is often hard to value certain intangible assets such as goodwill and economic obsolescence. The asset-based approach, on the other hand, incorporates all other valuation approaches and can be used to value certain tangible and intangible assets that cannot be valued under the cost-based approach.
Conclusion An analyst may choose to use the asset-based approach individually or in congruence with other valuation methods. Various factors come into play when deciding whether or not to value a business using this method, including the quality of data available, the market participants’ acceptance of the approach, and the analyst’s degree of confidence in the valuation placed on the business. Under the asset-based approach, tangible and intangible assets are valued with the assumption of a going concern for the business being valued. The approach comes as no surprise that it is the generally accepted valuation standard among numerous authorities. |

Johnne32: I vividly remember the day I wrote my first paid article for an international client. He was from Spain and wanted me to get a trial article done at the cost of $25 (About #8,000) for a thousand words.
I spent my whole day writing the article and felt proud after going through it. The client loved the work, commended me and wanted me to write more for him later.
But now, he had to pay me. He requested a PayPal invoice. I told him PayPal was banned in Nigeria so I had to get an alternative.
I searched and searched and searched.....No positive results. The only way was to purchase courses from people who receive money regularly from clients, and I had no money then for that.
I continued to search until I stumbled on Upwork Direct Contract. This feature recently developed by the popular freelancing platform (Upwork) was created to help freelancers and clients outside Upwork ease the flow of payments.
It works this way: You create a contract which the client then accepts. After that, the clients deposit the money in escrow, after which the payment is approved after your work is done. In simple terms, Upwork direct contract is more of a middleman that helps in holding the money till the work is done.
What about payment charges? Upwork direct contract charges 3.4% of the payment made by the client so if you finish a $25 work, Upwork takes just $0.85 as their charge....this is cool in my opinion.
Besides that, you can withdraw the account straight to your account balance. You just need to pay *$0.99 for every transfer* so it doesn't matter whether you are transferring $5 or $10,000....the charge for withdrawing straight to your account balance is the same.
When I found out about this method, I was extremely glad. So I quickly informed my client about this, he was okay with it...so I sent a contract similar to our previously agreed one, then he accepted, deposited the funds and I was able to get my money across to me that day.
Note that the client does not have to be on Upwork to deposit money and pay you, in fact, the email you are sending the contract to must not be registered on Upwork. It's only the freelancers that need to be on the platform to be eligible to create such a contract.
So how do you get started?
- Open an Upwork account (It's important to appear as a professional to get accepted) - Once you get accepted, then go to settings and input your account details there. It will probably take a day or two for it to get verified. - Meanwhile, you are free to create a direct contract if you already have a client that's supposed to send you payment. - Receive your payment, and then withdraw it to your local receiving account. - Enjoy your cash
Note that I am not against other platforms like Paypal, Payoneer and the rest. If it works for you, great! I even want to start using these platforms, but till then, I am satisfied with the direct contract feature. So far, I have received about $198 using the feature. I attached a screenshot of this.
Let me know what you think. I am open to better suggestions too. |
