No matter how they did it, I had told a friend that these people would be freed before spending 3 nights with their abductors. There was just too much at stake for the elite class here. While I am glad they are now free, I find it hard to believe that no agreement was reached between the government/family and the abductors. If that was the case, why then has such tactics not being employed to free the Ogbomosho students? |

LagosG: I completely disagree. That's like saying African footballers should only play football in tropical climates Not really. Football only needs an open field to be played while a major requirement for every spot in the Winter Olympics is snow. It doesn’t snow here. We shouldn’t be sending athletes to represent the country in skills that can not be developed at home. |

WhiteIverson: You've obviously not watched games where we played without Osimhen that's why you're saying this one. He is arrogant but still a key player. Just like Bruno of Man Utd. Abegi. With Lookman’s current form, we don’t need Oshimen with that his gutter attitude. |

drstranged: Lookman is doing a lot of unnecessary dribbles instead of passing to a team mate who has a clear chance at goal. This is really selfish We are leading 3-0. Lookman can do whatever he wishes. Why would Oshimen be paraing for him like that. Check out their stats in this game an lookman is heads and shoulders ahead of Oshimen. |

Image123: Are they not paying you for the goods? Abi na me no understand the argument. Is this not part of the monies our government makes and shares every month?
1. Oil & Gas (72%) • Nigeria ships 1.6 million barrels/day to Europe
2. Cocoa, Sesame, Leather (18%) • EU buys €8.1 bn of Nigerian farm & raw materials • Germany alone takes €2.4 bn cocoa beans
3. Re-exports & Services (10%) • Dutch ports re-export Nigerian LNG → €4.5 bn • French banks & insurers skim €1.2 bn fees
Grand total: €45.1 billion (2024 actual) I was wondering if I was the only one with the confusion. When you understand this please tag me. |

press9jatv: So this APC government even led a delegation to USA and submitted a petition of insecurity in Nigeria far back 2014? This guy's exposed the countries insecurity status aimed at de-marketing the Government of Goodluck Jonathan, now this same people , after hijacking the government through fraudulent means are now castigating those who speak about insecurity today? You see how evil the Yoruba people are?
They have supported every evil in this country just to hold on to positions in government. They have no humanity in them. Highly treacherous and satanic. How did this tribalistic post make front page on Nairaland? |

This money is intended to curry Tinubu’s favour and it will achieve its purpose. This is how our government is run. |

Politics › Re: Dangote: In Celebration Of Egotism, Selective Amnesia, And Revisionism by SirElaw(m): 10:03pm On Oct 11, 2024 |
IbeOkehie: Easy to say. What is your proof? Nigeria is reputed the most religious nation on earth. My challenge to YOU....right now there are millions of Nigerians in IDP camps, go and take a few of them into your home. That should make Nigeria a little better.
Nigeria should be a paradise by now if even 1% of the population had such ideals. Because there's plenty of opportunities for people to do exactly that, ESPECIALLY when the entire system is based on such expectations. Abeg go and rest.
Good Luck to Nigeria. You do not know me bro so please do not generalize. I‘ve done deeds to contribute to a better Nigeria in my own little way. You brought up religion. I have a small quiz for you. Choose one of these two options: A. Better Nigeria and definitely go to eternal hellfire B. Endure whatever Nigeria is and probably go to heaven I will choose option A. Make your pick and I’ll continue this conversation. |
Politics › Re: Dangote: In Celebration Of Egotism, Selective Amnesia, And Revisionism by SirElaw(m): 6:40pm On Oct 11, 2024 |
IbeOkehie: Would YOU choose a better Nigeria over a bigger bank account? NOBODY would make such a choice.
Again, the issue is THE SYSTEM.
Government interference in the market is an attempt to FORCE people to give Nigerians STUFF at a discounted rate.
That's what fuel subsidy is about, that is why there's cheap fees at Federal University, that's why government subsidizes forex, that's why the government pays for pilgrimage. The problem is that those ATTEMPTS to make things easier will ALWAYS ENABLE CORRUPTION and other unfair practices. One example of UNFAIR but perfectly legal favoritism is how Dangote got access to SUBSIDIZED FOREX, detailed here:
https://www.reuters.com/article/business/finance/africas-richest-man-got-a-fistful-of-dollars-in-nigerian-currency-squeeze-idUSKCN0Z90ZO/
If Nigeria operated a FREE FLOAT forex market where ALL participants including government traded on an equal footing, he wouldn't be able to get such a sweet forex deal. That's the PROBLEM WITH GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT IN ANYTHING, someone always gets favored above others and some people are bitter about it.
Neither you nor myself or anyone else would do different from Dangote. He played by THE LAW. The real problem is that the LAW and the SYSTEM that underpins it are WRONG AND IMMORAL. Nigerian needs a COMPLETELY FREE capitalist free market system.
Good Luck to Nigeria. Yes, I would. What’s more? I know many people who would make such a choice in a heartbeat. |

Shadomaan7: The author of the above article has been bitter since the opening of Dangote refinery. His bitterness is just too glaring. Where did he lie. Dangote is a businessman and would seek profit over public good. Not saying that’s a bad thing but it’s important to know that Dangote would never choose a better Nigeria over a bigger bank account. It is the way he has amassed his wealth so far. You can make of that whatever you see fit. |

Obaseki cost Asue this election! Period!
