Business / Reasons For Us To Still Believe In Nigerians' Can-do Spirit by Sirlancelot(m): 7:44pm On Apr 01, 2016
With few exceptions,I mean very minute private entrepreneur in petroleum industry would not take advantage of the chaos going on in the wake of fuel scarcity nation-wide.Bovas petroleum was an exception to this inhumanity. Some fillings station goes as far as hiking the pump-price at 250 per litre.Amidst the popular and general discomfort, following with long vehicle queue, this private business outfit still goes ahead to defy the odds of profit making, which was the sole aims of private ownership initially,by selling the premium motor spirit at the normal rate of 87 naira per litre.

Despite the mammoth crowd at the filling station at their ibadan branch today, each motorist still find reasons to smile after all other filling station selling at the exorbitant price. My concerns are, this guys are mere private entrepreneur or independent marketers, whatever they are being called, what motivates them?I was informed the owner of Bovas Coy was a woman with eye for humanity. From her,I have drawn lesson;not all of us Nigerian are evill or selfish as being portrayed.Aside this,I am reaching to them for a good job..peace out

[quote author=Hemanwel post=44317872]Bro, 'HAD' is always used in a Past Perfect Tense situation to indicate that an action took place before another in the past.E.g,
1.They had finished fighting before the Police arrived.
2. Before the Supervisor walked in,the Lab attendant had worked hard.
3. When she had concluded routine chores, she slept off.

Now,in my own case, tell me why I should use 'had' and not 'has'.School me.
[/quote Just as you typed, has, on the other hand,is a third person singular indicative of have!If the action you earlier assumed was in the past, why relating it to the present?I am not Eng Major, but I have Bsc Pols science from the UI.Peace bro, just curious.

Hemanwel:
Any organization that wants to grow can never streamline its recruitment process to applicants from a/some particular school(s) in the country.Just when some employers are seeking ways to employ people from across the globe to become an International standard, these ones are coming up with these??
From the names of the schools I see here,I perceive one local company from the SW to be behind this.

FYI,though needless to say,a Masters degree holder from the University of Ibadan has once asked me to spell "INSECTICIDE" for him..How about that?
had not has, what bout that?Nobody is perfect!

Sports / Insecurity In Kaduna by Sirlancelot(m): 8:25am On Mar 26, 2016
Is there a link between Kaduna and NFF?Why must AFCON qualifying match played in Kaduna.I begin to wonder if it is only Kaduna stadium we have in this country. From the slippery pitch to lack of organisation structure within the stadium,it leds much to be desired as a viewer. As a lover of European Games and its aesthetics, games like this can only be seen in English Amateur division where quality is not much important.Even south Africa league can boast of more nice scenario than this.Imagine some fans climb as fare tower just to view the match.Floodlight inclusive .Vicent Eyeamah argue the choice of Kaduna in first insistance, yet he was chastised.Even the supporter sportsmanship comes into play, game was still on,my aboki friend are already trooping out even when SE in winning side. What on earth does that happen? That can only weak the morals of the players. Finally,we have better stadia in Akwa ibom,Calabar,or Lagos if you ask me.

Excellence in helping the world or excellence in learning about the world? How does the fact that I know something about the world mean that I have shaped it positively and deserve an award? Are awards not given for bettering humanity?
so what are you insinuating now?He shouldn't be recognised or what?He haas done the unthinkable. That kind of feat only happens once a while. At least he breaks a record in academic which you and I know that it is not practically easy in contemporary nig.Education excellence should be encouraged and not giving cold feet as you are rightly portraying.Success is relative when comparing with what is obtainable in UI,my alma mata.Pls give him a break
Education / Re: House Of Reps To Honour Ayodele Daniel Dada by Sirlancelot(m): 1:01pm On Mar 22, 2016
Reyginus:
Wrong move. I don't think anyone should be honoured by the government for passing a test. Awards from the government should be for a person who's added something to the nation. I don't see how graduating with a 5.0 CGPA equates to adding anything to the nation.

He did well, yes. But then what's the impart of his result on the Nigerian populace? Having a good result doesn't automatically mean you've imparted on life or ever will. Awards should rather go to people who have done this and not people who excelled in the tools necessary to impart life.

He can be sponsored on a scholarship for a higher degree because of this potential but he should not be celebrated by the country because he's not done anything for her but himself. When he does something for the country then should he be rewarded. So far what he's achieved is only for himself.
sir you got it wrong.Obama did the same thing when student from Ivy league,Harvard Univ graduated with distinction. It is high time our government recognise excellence. He might not have done reasonable stuff to naija but his achievement is not only exceptional but inspirational as well.

This young man is the only hope of his family.Even up till now,I still can't believe he is gone forever. He sacrifice everything for this country,so that you and I can live peacefully. He has the same hope and aspiration like any other boy out there. At 26,he left his whole life ahead of him.Pte Agbor Okocha, can't forget you in a jiffy. He deserve a national hero.It is just about being a soldier but the task and commitment in it make it even more cumbersome to the core. The second soldier is friday moses,he also fought gallantly during the last gudunbali attack in nov 18,but could not make it.RIp bro. Third,Ogunti emmanuel, while the last commando is Abdullahi muhammed who also is the bread winner of his family.Let's us celebrate this men as they lay their lives in line for our future.Whom ever is aware of this craze of frontpage should please give this heros a little bit of recognition so that they will not die in vain

Career / Boko-haram: Army dismiss over 100 soldiers by Sirlancelot(m): 12:38am On Feb 29, 2016
It is really painful that in the fight against insurgency in north east Nig, many soldiers have lost their lives, while many have been dismissed due to punishable offence. This culture of dismissing soldiers at any slightest provocation by the CO of each Battalion is getting alarming this day. This act can only affect the fight negatively.I just want the Chief of Army Staff to be aware,if ever he is abreast of this. This act is affecting counter insurgencing operation in north east.157 task force Battalion,Baga under the 7 brigade in Multinational joint task force, dismissed over 100 soldiers due to punishable offence. The ruthless manner at which the Brigade Commander,Brg Gen J Sahab handle the case is more of personal vendetta than military junta.Several senior soldiers who had served the army for over 20 years was relinquish of their service with no benefit whatsoever.Soldiers were dismissed without fair trial or whatsoever.Likewise 118 task force Battalion covering Kukawa and Cross in Baga local govt kicked start the craze of outright dismissal. The reason for this new order still baffle till date.We are fighting war against terror, yet soldiers are being sent away on delay bases without remorse. It will be worthy to note that Nig army personnel is not up to 80,000 out of over 150 million Nig population, yet keep dismissing the one in service due to punishable offence. The dismissal parade took place this year January without any news about it.Nigerian as a whole still have a long way to go in tackling insurgency. The offence we commit is understandable, yet no pity for second chance. After the many killings going on there, expecially the horrible sight of our soldiers being killed, some decided to travel without leave or pass, and such have commit an offence. But what amaze me most was the dismissal of over hundred without regard to security situation over there in north. It is really disheartening to see nig army institution being run with malice and contempt.I feel the pain in writing this because nothing have been reported on the matter in any news platform.please Mod,push this frontpage to really help our soldiers who have bEen unjustly treated.Mod please craete this awareness.

Wow,apparently this guy has never been in war front. He never seen it all.I just hope one day,he will be deployed to the very heart of insurgency operation in nig,ie Maiduguri or Yobe. There,he will clearly differentiate between pure hate and hurt.Boko Haram insurgent assault Soldiers in a barbaric manner either by beheading or being subjected to an unimaginable pain and suffering. He should be still lucky he is Lagos soldiering like woman while the real men are in the forefront of counter insurgency. This man is not a veteran at all.Attacking any civilian in peaceful state like Lagos should be treated or melt with great disciplinary action by constituted authority.

sir it only mean you are exempted because you are already a working class student. The Idea of the programm is designed for career work or those who wish to enrol for it due to time constraint and can not attend full time mode.Since Uniosun sandwish or part time is quite different from Uidlc,I think that your brother can still go,only if he long for it.
