More details have emerged on the reported clash between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and some soldiers in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.

PLUSMILA.com had reported that the clash which occurred on Monday night, September 4, at the popular Isi Gate area, shut down the city as business owners were forced to close their shops over fear of arrest or being caught up in the crisis.

A version of the incident claimed that the refusal of a commercial tricycle operator to hand over Biafra and IPOB insigma in his tricycle to soldiers caused the crisis.

Mr Oseloka Obaze has emerged winner of the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State.

Obaze, a former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, polled a total of 672 votes on Monday to defeat two other aspirants.

His closest rival, Alex Obi-Ogbolu, scored 190 votes while the third candidate, Ifeanyi Ubah, polled 94 votes.

Mr Tony Nwoye has emerged winner of the Anambra State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election.



In the just-concluded exercise, Mr Nwoye, a member of the House of Representatives scored 2,146 votes to defeat his nearest rival, Senator Andy Ubah who got 931 votes on Sunday.

There were eleven aspirants who contested for the anambra apc governorship ticket.

The Anambra state police division nabbed a 26-year-old student over an alleged attempt to sacrifice his father, two siblings and four of his friends in Ifite -Awka, Anambra state.

The suspect, Chukwuemeka Okafor, was said to had obtained the sum of N100,000 from the father under the pretense of using it to set up a business.

Confessing to the crime, the suspect said he was roped into the act after he was defrauded of N400,000 by one of his friends who had promised to take him to Dubai.
