Totally valid concern, I had the same thought when building it.
A few things worth knowing:

1. You don't give your exact location — spawn.garden fuzzes your position to about 1km radius.
Nobody sees your precise address, not even the app.
2. It's anonymous by default — no name, no email, no account. Just a callsign you choose yourself.
3. You can deny location permission — the site still loads, you just won't appear on the map. You can still browse who's online near you.
4. The code is open — github.com/grossman808/Spawn-Garden — anyone can read exactly what it does with your location.

The whole point is to find nearby gamers without giving anything personal away.
Privacy was literally designed into it from day one.

There's an experiment in which someone with a smoking addiction went to see a Psychiatrist(it's not only for mad people) and he recommended that Everytime he smokes, he should drink a can of soda. The Smoking addict started doing that and after a while, the Psychiatrist told him that whenever he felt the urge to smoke, he should drink a can of soda. He drastically stopped smoking . He had made Drinking Soda a high dopamine activity as Smoking, so drinking soda stimulated the dopamine secretion his brain was used to. But, he later died of diabetes after many years because he replaced the smoking with an unhealthy activity.
That's why I am recommending a healthy dopamine activity like say, jogging.
Start jogging in the mornings while holding a bottle of Pepsi with you for a while. Drink from it at intervals during your jogging.
It ticks the healthy balance as jogging keeps you fit and healthy and helps in blood flow.
After a while, whenever you feel the urge to drink Pepsi, just jog a little, it should fix the cravings !
Or Exercising, Going to the gym, etc,... Healthy Activities
