Science/Technology › Car-sized Turtle Fossils Unearthed In South America by sissyevy(op): 4:48pm On Feb 13, 2020 |
Fossils of a turtle the size of a car have been unearthed in what is now northern South America.
The turtle - Stupendemys geographicus - is believed to have roamed the region between 13 and 7 million years ago.
The fossils were found in Colombia's Tatacoa Desert and Venezuela's Urumaco region.
The first Stupendemys fossils were discovered in the 1970s but many mysteries have remained about the 4-metre long animal.
It was about the size and weight of a saloon car and inhabited a huge wetland across northern South America before the Amazon and Orinoco rivers were formed.
The male had forward pointing horns either side of its shell. Deep scars found in the fossils indicate that the horns were probably used like lances to fight rivals.
Researchers say they've found a 3-metre long shell and a lower jaw bone which has given them more clues about its diet.
They think the giant turtle lived at the bottom of lakes and rivers alongside giant crocodile eating a diverse diet of small animals, vegetation, fruit and seeds.
Stupendemys's large size was crucial in defending itself from other large predators. One of the Stupendemys fossils was found with a giant crocodile tooth embedded in it.

Throwing mega numbers around as if you and your “scientists” were alibe to accurately record billions of prior years before your embryos was formed. Africans are so quick to follow any White man hypothesis or guesstimates to their graves even when it makes no absolute sense Lol I’m a geologist.. this is not just a guess work. It’s been dated almost accurately using radio active dating.. the oldest rock found on earth is about 4 billion years. If u have a problem believing this, I think u shd stop reading ur physics and chemistry cos according to u they’re all scientific guesses!! |

Youthleader22: Not man but other creatures who are like gods have lived on earth and reigned millions of years ago. Even the Bible recorded it that there have been kingdoms on earth before our kind. Even Prince of Persia. God created man after the utter destruction of the previous world after the Great War with the devil and other kingdoms. So we are just new on earth and that doesn’t mean other creatures have not roam the earth but not with this present form of human. The dinosaurs, dragons and other beasts are fossils from the previous world before human existence. Human can be said to be dated about 6,000 years old. Agreed |
Science/Technology › Re: Canadian Farmer Discovers New Tyrannosaur Species, One Of The Oldest Kind Ever by sissyevy(m): 6:20pm On Feb 11, 2020 |
urahara: But how could dinosaurs have gone extinct before Adam and Eve ate the fruit and brought death to the world.
Bible stories are way too dumb. To believe in the Bible you gats switch of your brain. The Bible tells us about human existence.. the beginning of d modern human existence. The Bible began where it wanted too.. Did u want d Bible to start telling us stories about how ancient animals were living and eating and dieing and how humans were changing from monkeys to how we are now That wasn’t necessary.. besides it gave us a summary of d ancient life. God created marine creatures and wild beasts, he created land animals and made man last.. the story of d Bible started with man. Full stop |
Science/Technology › Re: Canadian Farmer Discovers New Tyrannosaur Species, One Of The Oldest Kind Ever by sissyevy(m): 6:13pm On Feb 11, 2020 |
flamingREED: Carbon dating is unreliable. That's the biggest problem.
Those animals may not be more than 3000 years old. You don’t use carbon dating in things that existed millions of years ago.. wat we use here in geology is radio active dating. And yes those animals are hundreds of million years old |

Adflex1: Why haven’t they found one in Nigeria or Africa or our continent never existed 2.5 Million years ago There are many fossils of ancient life in Nigeria.. but no dinosaurs because the Nigerian sediments formed after d extinction of dinosaurs.. The Nigerian sediments are relatively young.. the oldest is of creataceous period... dinosaurs all died after d Jurassic period which is of older age |
Science/Technology › Re: Canadian Farmer Discovers New Tyrannosaur Species, One Of The Oldest Kind Ever by sissyevy(m): 6:02pm On Feb 11, 2020 |
urahara: Noahs story was obviously a myth. There are over 700 dinosaur species, meaning that oga Noah would have to have packed 1400 dinosaurs .
You sef reason am. The truth is many of these animals like dinosaurs had died and gone into extinction before humans existed... the earth has been in existence with life in it for more than four billion years without humans |
Science/Technology › Re: Canadian Farmer Discovers New Tyrannosaur Species, One Of The Oldest Kind Ever by sissyevy(m): 5:58pm On Feb 11, 2020*. Modified: 8:17pm On Feb 11, 2020 |
The earth is more than 4.5 billion years old... maybe the modern human existed at about 6 thousand years ago. But then this does not contradict the Bible. If u check well, God first made the earth, separated water from land before creating animals.. the first animals were marine then flying birds before land animals and humans last.. the pattern or sequence of creation correlates with the evolution trend in science.. the marine organisms are known to be very old.. that’s why many fish-like parts are seen as fossils.. and humans are the most sophisticated because we are d youngest in d evolutionary trend. Yes God created everything in five days... but remember.. a day in the eyes of God is like a million years to man!!! |

Culture › A Glimpse Into The Golden Sand Beach, Unwana, Ebonyi State by sissyevy(op): 2:52pm On Nov 22, 2019 |
Just like Nathanael asked Philip in the Bible, Can anything good come from Nazareth? The same is asked about the salt of the nation, Ebonyi state. And I am saying come and see a state blessed with an abundance of natural resources and untapped tourist attractions. Anytime I am privileged to visit the state, I take it as a duty to visit as many attractions as I can and expose them to the world. Ebonyi state is indeed blessed beyond what we read in the media.
Since this year, I have been visiting so many places and one of the latest places I visited is Unwana golden sand beach located in Unwana, Afikpo North Local Government, Ebonyi State. Although, I have been visiting Ebonyi State an excursion to Unwana golden sand beach is an experience I can never forget in a lifetime.
unwana beach
I hooked up with my old school mate, Olariwaju to explore this beach. Waju has been to other beaches but has never been to Unwana beach. He has heard lots of things about the beach so he made up his mind to join me on the tour. He came with two of his friends and we drove to the beach which is just 5 minutes away from Late Dr Ezeogo Akanu Ibiam junction.
Our hearts were filled with joy the moment we sighted the golden sand beach from afar. When we arrived at the beach, I told Waju we are going to board a local canoe that will take us to the golden sand where we can relax and engage in some recreational activities. He agreed but two of his friends were scared of crossing the beach so, I tried to convince them that there is a need for us to experience everything this beach has to offer. Finally, they agreed and we board the boat.
On the boat, I looked around; I had a better view of the beach and the host community. Not as if I saw the host community but I had a better understanding on why the host community is called “a city on a hill”. After sailing for about 3 minutes, we were welcomed by the beautiful golden sands.
This beach is the best place for snorkeling. In Unwana beach, tourists/visitors can take a boat cruise around the beach. The beach has a nice place for sunbathing and picnic. I tried going for fishing, I can tell the experience was marvellous. There is absolutely nothing to worry about when you are at the Unwana golden sand beach because the beach is calm and peaceful with a great view.
We spent hours exploring this great beach. We played football with some locals we met there; we tried high jump and other recreational activities. I am still looking for the right word to express how I feel because the whole experience is out of this world. Each time I recall my experience at the beach, I feel like visiting again. Indeed Ebonyi State has something to offer tourists apart from the Natural salt lake called Uburu salt lake. What they are lacking are publicity and infrastructure
The best time to visit is from December to February (dry season). As you are going, make sure you go with your lunch box or contact a local restaurant to arrange foods and beverages for you. This is very important because we went there without food hoping to get one when we get there. At some point, we thought of going back to buy something to keep the fun alive.
After engaging in some recreational activities, the day was getting dark so we board the boat again and cross to the other side where Olariwaju parked his car. It was actually a great place to visit and explore. |

Culture › Re: Similarities Between The Igbo And Other Eastern Peoples by sissyevy(m): 6:22pm On Nov 14, 2019 |
yorubaruler: @ NRI PRIEST. Please you an your co-travellers of questionable origin should stop giving we Igbos bad name. If you are Igbo then you would know that there is noting like real or fake Igbo, IGBO WU IGBO. I want you to know that the real Nri's ARE THE ADAMAS WHO WERE IN THEIR PRESENT LOCATION BEFORE MENRI MIGRATED FROM AGULERI. The authochous Adamas dont recall their origin but recall the period Menri migrated to the area and the time nri with his co-travellers were assimilated by them. The Adamas are also the aborigines of Oraeri, Adazi enu and Adazi nnukwu towns long before the arrival of Nri Ifiquanim Menri from Aguleri. They are the ones who appointed Eze Nri to serve as their ritual agent and taught Eze Nri the ritual rites they perfomed and the Igbo days and years counting which Igbos allover Igboland were already practicing. AS OWNERS OF THE EZE NRI TITLE, THEY DECIDE AS WELL AS CROWN WHO WOULD BE EZE NRI TILL TODAY. THEY ALSO INHERIT THE PROPERTIES OF EZE NRI UPON HIS DEATH, THEY CAN CHALLENGE THE PRONOUNCEMENT OF EZENRI IF IT CONTRADICTS THEIR BELIEVE, ADVICES EZENRI ON SPIRITUAL MATTERS AND ARE IN CHARGE OF HIS PROTOCOLS. Hence in Nri their is an adage which says ONYE FE NRI, NRI EFE ADAMA meaning if you honour Eze Nri, Nri would in turn honour the Adamas. This is because they appointed Nri as their spiritual agent. As Igbos they share similar culture and beliefs with other authochous Igbo groups across Igboland WITHOUT ANY IGBO GROUP INFLUENCING THE OTHER. Even in Aguleri aborigines are the okpu villages which are the most senior villages in Aguleri the home of Nri. When Eri the father of Nri migrated to the Aguleri He met the okpu people who are have established there long before his arrival.According to the oral history of the aguleris, ERI ADOPTED THE LANGUAGE AND CULTURES OF THE OKPU PEOPLE. THE BIG QUESTION IS SINCE ERI AND HIS GROUP ADOPTED THE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE OF THEIR HOST THE OKPU PEOPLE, WHO ARE THE OKPU PEOPLE ? SINCE IT HAS BEEN SEVERALLY PROVED THAT THE OKPU PEOPLE ARE IGBOS,WHO SPOKE IGBO AND PRACTICE THE IGBO CULTURE FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL, WHAT WAS THE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE OF ERI AND HIS GROUP BEFORE THEY WERE ASSIMILATED BY THEIR IGBO ABORIGINES ? The Okpu people control the most important diety in Aguleri till date. Their are many authochous Igbo groups spread across Igboland which have given birth to many Igbo towns and communities within and outside the south east. SO ANYBODY THAT SAYS THEIR IS A FAKE AND REAL IGBOS IS A MISCHIEVIOUS IGNORAMUS WITH QUESTIONABLE BACKGROUND WHICH SHOULD BE REBUKED,CASTIGATED AND CORRECTED BY ALL INTELLIGENT IGBOS. Mind you am good in Igbo history and i can clear your doubts with facts. You can read up this well researched article written by a professor in Igbo language and culture known as Politics of Igbo Origin and Culture at: groups.yahoo.com/group/AnambraForum/message/45010 am pretty sure those NRI people were igala migrants into these communities and who have evolved into Igbos.. but unfortunately today, they now claim to be d original owners of the land. and lay claims to d origin of igbos in general |
