Khamenei was the leader in 1988. He was the deputy in 1979. Remove 47 years from 86 and that translates to 39. He was part of the revolution and grew from somewhere.
Read the story of Netanyahu. He rose from the military background and this is his second term as the Prime minister. He was a youth.
Donald Trump started talking of the Presidency since 1981. Remove 45 from 79 and you will get 34.
Putin rose in rank from the KGB as a youth. He was a youth in leadership.
Go and read about Xi Jin Ping and his communist days as a youth.

They were all youths. They were not lazy youths. They did not stay 24 hours on social media. They were active and focused and finally became the leaders. Fortunately for them, they did not lose their lives. Many of their contemporaries lost their own lives in the leadership processes.

The leaders of today, they were the soldiers of yesterday. They went wars. They were in the streets. They were and remain in the military. The youths who fight today, will rise to positions tomorrow. While you watch what’s happening, they are fighting their ways to their tomorrow.

By the way, they all fight to defend their respective countries.

While youths on Nairaland are talking about tribes, those ones talk about their nations.

Go and read again, the importance of the war to America and Iran. Go and read with understanding. Trump has no business with the Nobel prize. That’s not the point of contention. Go and read.

Choose today where you belong!
Nice. Nigeria has a history of the youth causing the civil war among others. Are you saying the ones today are those who fought for the country and that's why they deserve to be leaders? If that was the case, every soldier will take turns after Buhari's set. Every June 12ther and Sowore will take turns.

Do not blackmail the youth with wasting their time pressing phones when the old ones who should know better do not have solid plans for them. They act haughty and mighty while never leaving the post and saying they are wasting their time. I wish you said the same thing of Obama when he got there. After all, Biden was interning as his vice undecided The younger people you failed to create the ecosystem for is who you want to blame, humor me more because you don't recognize that the report card is showing who failed more than the young people.

Trump does not need Nobel Peace Prize. Okay, I have heard you. grin

FamilyRe: Interfaith Couple Who Are Fasting Together by SixSeven: 1:39pm On Mar 15
Validated:
In Islam, you change your eating time. That is you eat from DUST to DAWN 5.00PM to 5.00 AM, instead of Dawn to dusk. This simply means not eating when the sun is up.
In Christuanity, you start fasting from 12.00 AM, fast the whole day and break at 6 PM, then restart fast at 12.00 am.. During dry fast, which the common approach, you fast for 24hrs. So, I am wondering how they do this together.
The woman should just repent and give her life to Christ.
People usually think the faith they grew up with is the right one. A Muslim says Islam is true, a Christian says Christianity is true, a Hindu says Hinduism is true. That’s normal.
But believing your path is right doesn’t mean you get to judge someone else’s. If two people are respecting each other’s faith and fasting together, that’s already better than trying to tell someone their soul needs fixing.

FamilyRe: You Still Want To Marry? Lawyer Shares List Of Divorce Cases From One Court by SixSeven: 1:27pm On Mar 15
1. Availability Heuristic
This is when people judge how common or likely something is based on examples that easily come to mind.

Divorce lawyers constantly see failed marriages. Those cases are very vivid and memorable. Because that’s what they see all day, it feels like most marriages end badly, even though they are seeing a skewed sample. So their experience makes divorce seem far more common than it actually is.

2. Selection Bias
This happens when the data you’re looking at is not representative of the whole population.

Divorce lawyers only see couples who are divorcing. They never see the millions of couples who stay happily married. So their “dataset” is biased toward failure.

3. Negativity Bias
People tend to notice and remember negative outcomes more strongly than positive ones, which can further amplify the effect.

"On June 19, 1962, I was moved from Ikenne to Lekki. The journey to Lekki was an experience in itself. Lekki was a remote, waterlogged village, almost cut off from the rest of the world. To get there, one had to travel by canoe through mosquito-infested marshes.

The government’s intention was clear: to isolate me and make it as difficult as possible for my supporters to reach me. They chose a place that was physically taxing and geographically secluded.

However, the spirit of the people could not be broken. Despite the treacherous waters and the distance, hundreds of my supporters—men and women—found their way to Lekki. They came in canoes, often singing party songs that echoed across the lagoons. Their presence was a source of great strength to me during those sixteen days of restriction.

The bungalow where I was kept was modest, and the environment was harsh, but it provided a period of intense reflection. I spent my time reading, writing, and contemplating the future of our great nation. It was in these quiet, difficult moments at Lekki that my resolve to serve Nigeria was further tempered."

Christianity EtcRe: The Humbling Point Of A Man by SixSeven: 1:00pm On Mar 15
A man must never feel as if he is self-sufficient. No matter how much he has achieved, how far he has gone, or how strong he appears, he must always recognise his need for God. The moment a man begins to think he can live without God, life itself will remind him otherwise.
I feel this is life's humility check or what some others will call humiliation ritual. Humiliation ritual because the cards of life will be stack in your face and you will feel embarrassed to think you own the game. God also makes us go so far away from him only to come back to him. I think it's a way of learning to see the other side of the sea but starting the journey to know who was really directing you there. It wasn't your eyes or the 🔭

The ego avoids critical feedback to maintain a false illusion of being spectacular and genius. Humility is essential for development, as it allows for the long, quiet process of studying and learning that leads to true mastery.

May we be humbled, not humiliated. 🙏

Most of your senators and house of reps members don't earn a great salary but their benefits are something else. If you all target their salaries to come down, they will be happy to make it look like a sacrifice but those who ask questions and think about the big picture know where the money is made from.

You people and your many interpretations.

The summary of the matter is that the guy needs help as he did it make much. He made a lot of people happy and we all allow that there was not a lot of money in Nollywood and Afrobeats as at 20 yrs ago.

Help if you can !!!
No. Do not encourage entitlement or lieing against someone to ask for help. It is one thing to ask for help, it is another thing to malign someone's character. That is unfair to Wale Adenuga.

It is increasingly becoming a very very very bad and disgusting behaviour for Nigerians to want sympathy online by stating half truths or lies against personalities who may even want to be private then let the public judge with one sided information. That is a character without integrity. When we now hear the other side, we see that it is not as they painted it. I don't like that and it will prevent more people from working with Nigerians because they will see us as backstabbers, town criers and indecent people who can't keep a gentleman's agreement. Just recently, the girl who cried rape retracted her statement after making the young man look like he was a rapist while the other lady and Umahi's classmates apologized for lieing against the minister. Those are bad behaviours we should call out so we don't encourage others to do that.

If he said he didn't make money from the character or the money was not enough, that's okay but to claim ownership of a character you didn't create, then try to make it look like WAP cheated you or was unfair to you is disgusting and there is no better way to describe it.

The Veteran actor in the popular comic television drama, "Abiodun Ayoyinka", popularly known has "Papa Ajasco" has revealed that his bald hair is fake, that he just shaves it off when going on set.

During his recent interview with GoldMyTV,

he said:

“The bald head is not original, it’s fake. Anytime I’m going for my recording, I shave it off, for the past 19-years now. At all, it will not grow. Because I’m so handsome with it.”

This is one example of why many actors also do not want to portray James bond characters. It restricts them to a persona that they cannot use on their own outside the franchise. That's why Daniel Craig for example wanted out as asap.

They can however leverage brand deals (if they come) using a semblance of that character. Pierce Brosnan can do add for watches without the 007 logo because people know him.

This man should have pivoted a while ago but no surprises, when things are going good, people think it would last forever. Where is WAP today? Even if they want to help, there's nothing much they can offer.
Fair enough but this man can still play different characters. The Pa Ajasco character has to be bald. He can always play other roles without the bald head and big tummy. What about that?

Did you just ask where is WAP today? shocked

EducationRe: Phd Holder Shares Payslip From Time As Covenant University Lecturer by SixSeven: 11:22am On Mar 15
I am not going to defend anyone but I know lecturers get some extra benefits. I am wondering why a lecturer will post his payslip, your personal information to prove what point? Back to the extra benefits, one of them will be housing. I don't know what the accommodation was. Some schools have staff quarters which is housing benefit and when people compare salaries, they forget that part. If you have children, they may go to that school free as a staff.

Their academic calendars typically include long breaks between semesters. Although lecturers still do some work during these periods, they usually have more downtime than many corporate roles. Compared with many private-sector jobs, lecturers may teach only a few hours per week. Much of the rest of the time can be self-scheduled. Outside exam periods, schedules can be relatively flexible.

Lecturers often have access to sports centers, libraries, staff clubs, campus transportation systems and other amenities that are usually free or very inexpensive.

When people compare lecturers’ salaries to private-sector salaries in Nigeria, they often ignore the cost savings from housing, schooling, healthcare, and utilities. Those benefits can reduce major household expenses that private-sector workers typically pay fully out of pocket.

I was just reading about the profile of MLK's parents who were pastors. One of the things that I learned from them was that for pastors, they believed in social justice. They didn't believe it was enough for them to preach. They had to show good service and fight for justice and against oppression 🤔

Name that existed before he even started acting. I'm disappointed in this unnecessary information he is throwing out there. They went to school. There is nothing wrong in what WAP did in registering the brand. Pa James has never come out to complain about his character, he acts movies but not with the Pa James character. Akpan and Oduma do skits but not as Akpan and Oduma outside WAP, so what is this complaint all about? I feel disgusted seeing this.

Thanks. I hardly ever wear those things, it's mostly for my workouts and indoor too. And I do my workouts mostly indoor too.
But you're going to sweat and that's the problem. They block sweat and these things came up because of athletes who wanted things that will make them faster and not slow down in racing eg 100m, football etc.
Your body needs to sweat even indoors to regulate temperature and release heat, and wearing tight clothes like spandex can trap heat and moisture, reducing airflow and making it harder for sweat to evaporate and cool your body properly.

That's why I tell men not to kill themselves over women. If God that created them cannot satisfy them, who are you? Who born you?

God gave women eyebrows… they shaved them and drew new ones.
He gave them eyelashes… they added extensions.
He gave them nails… they fixed acrylics.
He gave them hair… they bought Brazilian.
He gave them lips… they lined them bigger.
He gave them nose… they reshaped it.
He gave them waist… they bought waist trainers.
He gave them buttocks… they said it’s not enough and went for BBL.
He gave them breasts… they upgraded the size.
He even gave them toto… some still say they want “puff” version.
Shall I say women are the most ungrateful to God? That's why when I see those men who want to behave like women and dress like them, I want to flog them. Why would you do that to yourself?
