1025:
@skilljed,
why is no one talking for these players? why is everybody against them? ghana president had to visit essien in uk to know how he was doing and recovering from his injury. how do u think such player will behave to national assignments knowing he was visited by his country's president? chinedu obasi ogbuke who does not joke with national team got injured during the sa2010 world and was sidelined for for 4 months without any nigerian sports official giving him a telephone call talkless of a presidential visit. how do u expect such a player to behave to national team?
john shittu who prefers national team to his club carrier suddenly lost his contract with bolton and was dropped immediately by the national side, what massage does that send to the other players?
i hate hypocrites, who among us nigerians will joke with his sources of income just to please the hard to please nigerians? will these our wicked politicians who are not ready to pay a worker N18,000 take care of your problems and that of your dependants if anything goes wrong with your club carrier?
where is late sam okwaraji in the history of our football and how is his family fairing?
committment is nothing but a product of motivation. our super eagles were motvated by abacha and they responded positively. enyimba of aba players were motivated by orji uzor kalu and they responded positively. how are these super eagle players been motivated today? visit nairaland sports forum and read what we write about men who put their lives on the wire for us. look at the officials and u will see how interested they are in the game and compare that with how interested they are with the funds mearnt for these players'welfare.
siasia had all my respect until that day he advised mikel who is in a top club in europe to quite the club for his personal reasons maybe to sign for heartland of owerri. how can siasia ask mikel to run away from competition maybe to a club where he will be the captain and play as he likes and if possible get a few goals at the end of the season - it is a shame that everybody wants these players to be committed and nobody is interested on the conduciveatmospher that can warrant commitments.
look at our local league and u will know that in truth and realities, this present govt has not interest in the game of soccer. egypt national side is built on local players and they are not doing bad. england, spain and italy can boast of 98% or more local players when their national teams.
is this country worth dying for? will u advise your own person to over look his carrier for a commitment with our national side? who among us here can leave his profession and go out to clean the streets of his city as a patrotic citizen?
if togo, benin republic and all these small countries of this world can produce 11 players, i think nigeria can produce 1 million players hence i suggest that siasia can go for fresh legs bcs we have what it takes to have 100 national teams.
i honestly think most of your opinion are off-point. if the national team is not worth committing to, there is no point honouring the invitation in the first place. anything worth doing is worth doing well.

for the guy who said osaze's days in the team are numbered because he is 29, who told you osaze is older than mikel, taiwo, obasi, obinna, etc? osaze is the only player in that team playing with his real birth age, because he was not born in nigeria, he was born and grew up in russia, where there is proper documentation. if osaze were born in nigeria, he probably will be bearing 20 years old by now. believe me and better know now that osaze is not older than mikel, taiwo, obasi, obinna, etc, all these other ones use football age, you know the system in africa. if osaze maintains his fitness and commitment, he may still have 10 more years to play in the team. by the way how old do you think jayjay was when he retired, you think the guy loved to be skipping games those days when he was selecting games? age was badly telling, he wasn't that 33 years you were seeing on paper (33+10=43). please leave osaze o, he still has a lot to offer the team!

as for captainship, has yobo retired? the guy may still be an asset to the team if he can regain his old form. if he doesn't, enyeama will be okay. captainship for osaze may be a challenge and a burden to his game, but he could be enyeama's deputy!

Becoming A Computer Skills Guru, Train Yourself To Become The Computer Skills Guru
Today, we continue our series on becoming a guru. I already told you this means you (this very you) can become a guru on the computer. Though now you may know nothing on the computer, in fact, now you may have a phobia for the computer as everything on the computer seems like Greek and Latin to you. For most computer skills experts, it was so at the beginning but with training, counseling and practice they overcame that stage and came to be what others call guru, professor, professional, etc. That is what I want you also to be, and you can surely do it if you are willing to give it a go.
I already told you of three routes to becoming a guru namely:
• Register with a trainer
• Train yourself
• Acquire tutorial software
Today we are discussing the Train Yourself method

Train Yourself

I know you must be shocked about such a topic: Train Yourself! How can I train myself? I know barely nothing about the computer! I don’t even know the computer parts! This is impossible? Well, it is not impossible. All things are possible.
Like most other things in life, to train yourself has its advantages and if you can give it a try, be sure you will learn and gain a lot more than you ever thought.
To train yourself means experimenting those software (programmes) e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Corel Draw, Windows X.P., etc. For example, if you power a computer, it will start loading (booting). After booting, it will display your desktop (the first page the computer gives you after booting) at the bottom of the desktop is a bar called the Taskbar, it runs across the whole bottom of the desktop. There are icons on the Taskbar, the most important of them is the start menu (you know it by it reading START). By clicking on the start menu, you can access different areas of the computer including the programmes installed. The programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Corel Draw, etc) may be displayed on your desktop, from which you can launch them by double-clicking or if not displayed on the desktop, launch the programme by clicking on it in the START menu
On the start menu, you can also turn off your computer by clicking on turn off. Mind you, you don’t turn off a computer by punching the power button as your works may be lost, and it could also disrupt your operating system.
SportsWas It Right To Have Sacked Amodu? Any Lessons For Siasia? by SkillJed(op): 10:27pm On Nov 11, 2010
what a pertinent question for the hour! i wrote a report in october 2009 after the super eagles under coach shuaibu amodu just qualified for the world cup. unfortunately i couldn't really publish it for the whole of nigerian public to see. but some local publications in calabar where i reside published some excerpts of it. most people taught i was nuts to say shuaibu amodu should be allowed to take the super eagles to both the nations and world cups in 2010. this was over a year ago now. unfortunately too, it didn't occur to me to publish and discuss the contents of the report on nairaland then (i.e. in 2009), it would have been a most interesting discussion. in retrospect, i think we all see now that it was wrong to have sacked amodu. for one reason, march 2010 was too late a time to have sacked him. though of course, amodu aided his being sacked because the way he executed the nations cup was a big shame. i won't lie, even myself who had openly showed and lavished my confidence in him was grossly disappointed, it was a big shame! but it was still wrong to have sacked him.

now to siasia. we have now hired another indigenous coach, what is ahead for him too? below are excerpts from my october 2009 report on shauibu amodu's super eagles. let's learn some lessons that will make siasia's eagles better and more successful:

Can Shuaibu Amodu Really Succeed With The Super Eagles?
The above question is the pertinent and urgent and important question on the lip of every Nigerian football fan today, nay every fan of the Super Eagles who lately have been termed Super Chickens. Here I’m going to answer that question as objective as possible without any kind of bias or sentiment. And I do really wish that this article could be taken ‘on record’ because I’ll refer to it sometime again in July/August 2010 when the mundial must have come and gone. I don’t I don’t share the opinion of the majority who talk about the Super Eagles and its coach. In fact I don’t share the opinion of most of the sport writers, commentators and analysts of this country, and I know some of them will read this article, that is why I want every reader to take the contents of this article ‘on record’.

First of all, I congratulate every Nigerian on the successful (miraculous) qualification of the Super Eagle for the world Cup 2010 in South Africa. I must confess that though I have lots of respect for the team and the coach, I almost lost hope too (but I didn’t totally give up), I just managed to hold on to see what happened in the last match. And of course I watched it with a positive attitude, I wasn’t among those who didn’t care to watch because they felt the team and its coach where already done for. Truly in football (and in life), it is not yet over until it is over, anything can happen. That match taught a life lesson that one must never lose hope on his goal, vision or potentials, you must try and keep trying, never give up, till the very end! Once again congrats to all Nigerians!

I know this may surprise (and even upset) some people, you see, I have lots of respect for Shuaibu Amodu, the first I knew and read of Amodu was in 1989, that is a whopping 20 years ago. That year Shuaibu amodu won the Challenge Cup (otherwise known as the F.A. Cup) with the BCC Lions of Gboko. They further went on to win the Mandela Cup (then African Cup Winners Cup) the following year in 1990 beating top favourites Esperance of Tunisia who were then a big power house in African club football. BCC Lions (under Shuaibu Amodu) against the odds beat them 4:1 on aggregate. That was the time I started taking interest in this man called Shuaibu Amodu.

In 1991, they went through again all to the final, but narrowly lost the cup in the final of same competition to Power Dynamos of Zimbabwe. I remember the BCC Lions in those days had choice players like Moses Kpakor, Amir Angwe (of blessed memory), Patrick Mancha, etc. After that Amodu has made more successes both locally and outside, some of which we’ll talk about in this article.

Amodu’s Stints With The Super Eagles
It is a pity that Nigerians usually underrate their own, and even pull them down. Amodu’s first stint was in 1994 after the exit of Clemens Westerhof, Shuaibu Amodu briefly inherited the best Super Eagles’ squad ever. One easily remembered the friendly between the Super Eagles and England’s Tree Lions at the old Wembley Stadium (when it still had the twin towers), the match that saw JayJay dazzling the English with his ball skills and talent, he almost became the only African to score in the old Wembley (no African ever did!) when his grounder shot narrowly missed target with the English keeper flatly beaten. Not too long Amodu lost the job when Abacha took us out of the Nations Cup for his own political (personal) reasons. That was Amodu’s first coming.

The second coming was in 96/97, he started the world cup qualifiers for 1998 World Cup with the Super Eagles (I remember his taking the Super Eagles to the match in Nairobi, Kenya that ended 1:1 with the Harambee Stars), but without losing or failing he was sacked by Jim Nwobodo, the then Sports Minister in 1997. Purely, it was for personal reasons, he fell out of favour with the then Sports Minister in the build-up to the match, and the whole issue reached its climax after the match. In short, Amodu’s second coming was terminated by Jim Nwobodo in 1997.

Amodu came back (the third time) in 2000 after Jo Bonfrere fell out of favour with the F.A. after some run of poor results. Amodu took over from him, assisted by Coaches Joe Erico and Steve Keshi. It seemed like Amodu always comes for the World Cup. He took over the team after some poor run of form under Bonfrere, re-galvanized the team, and ended up qualifying the team for the World Cup. He remains the only indigenous coach till date to have done such a feat. Unfortunately he was sacked in 2002 after the Nations Cup for team indiscipline (as said by the F.A.) and the team disbanded. He ended up deprived of leading the team he qualified for the World Cup. Onigbinde jumped into the position, taking what he didn’t work for, reaping where he had not sown, of course he achieved nothing!

Amodu’s fourth (and latest) coming so far was in 2008, to qualify the Super Eagles for the Nations and World Cups. And once again as he did in 2002, he has made it, but will Nigeria and Nigerians allow and help this man to succeed this time? This is the very important question!

When A Coach Has Never Lost A Match For Over A Year

Amodu’s fouth and latest coming has lasted well over a year now. Can you think about a coach who has coached his team for over a year, has played at least 15 matches (the vast majority of them competitive), lost NONE, won at least 10 out of 15, and yet people are shouting that he’s not a good coach. I mean, what do you use in judging or knowing a good coach if not results. This man has never lost a match in this whole time, and yet it seems the way people are calling for his head, he has lost all the games he has played with the team. His results speak clearly that he’s not failing but succeeding. How I wish most Nigerians can be objective when they make their opinion. You think a poor coach will have such a run of form with his team both home and away in competitive games for well over a year without losing even a single game? Obviously not.

the above was written in october 2009 when shuaibu amodu hadn't lost any competitive game for over a year in world cup qualifying series, and yet nigerians were bitterly calling for his head. and of course, once he started losing matches in january 2010 at the nations cup, he got sacked! siasia beware!
SportsRe: Open Letter To Samson Siasia by SkillJed(op): 9:53pm On Nov 11, 2010
more excerpts from my open letter to shuaibu amodu in october 2009 which he neglected to his own peril:

Attitude Of Some Players
I have lots of respect for the players of the Super Eagles for their talent, most of them are fantastic talents and nobody can dispute that. Players like Mikel, Yobo, Martins, Osaze, Nsofor, Obodo (though he’s been absent for some time now), fantastic Kanu, etc, But you see, the problem is that the Super Eagles players don’t match talent with commitment, purpose and determination. This is where they differ from the Cameroonians, hence the more success of the later in African football. The important question is how do we get these players to match their talent with the commitment and determination needed? If we could achieve this, the sky is not even the limit for this team. And the fact is that it all boils down to the coach. That is why the coach is also called Team Manager. For e.g. Mikel is highly talented (and I have lots of respect for him), but Mikel rates zero in commitment to the national team. I have not seen anything near his level of commitment to Chelsea in him when he’s with the national team. He showed this time and time again when he was needed in the U-23 team until the coach Siasia finally neglected and forgot about him. That is the way a professional should deal with players—work with those who are ready and fit, and forget the others. This would make everyone wake up and serious.

You know why I’m surprised about Mikel? Mikel has started playing ‘the big man’ right at his young age, at his very beginning, at this very early stage, Mikel is only about32 years old in the Super Eagles. I do hope that attitude of his will change (perhaps as shown in the last two matches against Mozambique (in Nigeria) and Kenya (in Nairobi) so he can be a great resource to the team.

Commitment is not only honouring call-ups and training sessions, it is also right on the field of play. Sometimes see the way players like Rooney, Drogba chase every ball, not only when their team is attacking, but when they are defending too to reduce the pressure on the defenders but in the Super Eagles, the reverse is the case, you see attackers/midfielders give away the ball cheaply, and yet that player wouldn’t even give a chase. We saw Martins show the commitment attitude when he came as sub in the Kenya match, he chased a particular Kenyan player right deep down into Nigeria’s half, and ended up stopping that attack. How I wish the rest of the Super Eagles players including Mikel, Yakubu can play like this when on national assignment. This is what we need from these guys, and this is what you as a coach must bring out from them.

Two Kinds Of Training That Can Make You A Computer Skills Guru Within A Short Time
What if you have succeeded in getting yourself a trainer and you are sure he is good enough to t rain you? There are different kinds of training you could do. They are as follows:
• Class Training
• Home/Private Training

Class training means you come to class with other where your trainer trains you alongside others. But for the home/private training, your trainer comes to a venue of your choice to give maximum attention. A class of you and you alone, usually, it is more expensive. So, depending on your taste and pocket, you can do any of these two. Each of them has its advantages. It all depends on you as a person.
Advantages
There are lots of advantages when you register with a trainer. Some of them include:
• Fast learning since you are being taught as opposed to trying on your own
• Opportunity to observe your trainer while he does other jobs, i.e. you learn by observation of your trainer on other jobs that may not even be part of your class.
• Possibility of depression is very low as your teacher is the leader you follow, i.e. you are not leading yourself, you are following a leader who knows the way.
• Opportunity to ask questions from your teacher
• Opportunity to interact with and learn from other clients/students in class.

I observe that our current Super Falcons team is made up of over 90% Igbos (From the coaching crew to players). I have never seen a time where our national team has been so composed of one ethnic group.

Just being curious anyway. Do you think it has got anything to do with the coaching crew or what?
can't the people of this country be objective at any single time? what is the point of 90% igbos in the team? can't you see that the team is playing well and winning? what else do you want? is it not the name and colours of nigeria they are wearing? what if they are 100% igbos? please stop this nonsense. that the team is playing well and winning is enough to justify the make-up of the team. by the way, i'm not igbo if you care to know. my support and prayers for the super falcons and their coaches!
ComputersRe: How To Become A Computer Skills Guru, You Can Achieve Computer Skills Guru Statu by SkillJed(op): 1:11pm On Nov 06, 2010
These are the important questions you need to ask before you put your name, money and time into a particular place or person (trainer).

I know some quacks with big names, yet they know and do nothing at their training school, only ripping innocent and unknowing persons (clients) off their money, after all those people (the clients) know nothing too, and since they don’t know, they won’t know they are being cheated, until it is too late.

In the same vein, I know good trainers too who are really good on the job. For readers of this column who want to enroll with trainers, you can seek counseling from yours truly; you will get for absolutely FREE. That is part of the essence of this column, and be sure that you get the best whenever you seek it. Ask and you shall receive!

Becoming A Computer Skills Computer skills guru, Get A Proven Computer Skills Trainer
We began a new series titled becoming a computer skills guru. It was eye-opening to say the least (well, if you didn’t read that issue, you will do well to find and read it now, that is the background to what we are doing today and the next few weeks). And I promised that I would begin taking you through the three routes to becoming a computer skills guru on the computer. The routes were given as:
• Register with a Trainer
• Train yourself
• Acquire tutorial software
I told you, you could use one, or two, or all of the three, any or all will work, so, beginning today, I’ll show you how the work and their merits. We’ll go one step after another.
Register With a Trainer
This is about the best of all (if done right), because by this, you will stand on the shoulder of giants, thereby standing taller than your equals. What kind of trainer can you register with? This is the very important question! You can’t just go anywhere and register yourself with them because they say they are a computer school. These are the questions you should ask yourself:
• Do they really know the job?
• Do they really have the equipment to train people?
• Do they have the professionalism to teach and train?
• What is their track record over the years?
• What is their bill?
• Do they give their clients the required attention?
• Do they operate an on-the-job process for their clients?
SportsOpen Letter To Samson Siasia by SkillJed(op): 9:18pm On Nov 05, 2010
this open letter was written to shuaibu amodu in october 2009 which he neglected to his own peril. siasia, please don't make the same mistake!

Now I Talk To Amodu Himself
Dear Coach

We have to congratulate you on the successful qualification of this team, the Super Eagles for the World Cup, you did it before (2001), and you have done it again (showing the first wasn’t a fluke). You deserve all the praise and commendation. No Nigerian has ever done this, but you have done it twice. It is enough to shut the mouth of critics. That is that about that. But here I’m going to be blunt with you if you must succeed with this team both at the Nations and World Cups in 2010.

While I have lots of respect for you as a coach, I need to tell you that there is so much room for improvement both on yourself and your team. You see, if you fail with this team (which will surprise me if that happens), it will be essentially and entirely your fault, and non other, and Nigerians may never forgive you for this.

You Need A Strict And High Sense of Professionalism

This is the first thing you need with this team. This is what distinguishes the white man from the black. The white man takes his decisions (managerial) based on objectiveness, the purpose, and goal to be achieved, the black makes his own based on sentiments and prejudice. That is the difference between a professional and non-professional. That is the kind of person this players (as rich and exposed as they are) can respect. That is why they respect their foreign coaches at their clubs. There is nothing in players earning more than their coaches, it is common place, even in Europe, but the coach who is worth his onions will still command full respect from those players.

By professionalism, I simply mean doing your job, following the rules, the way it should be done regardless of who is gored. That is what this Super Eagles players need. That is what will bring discipline to your team, and bring the best from these players. That is a crucial reason why Westerhof and Bonfrere succeeded here. Honestly, by virtue of the quality of players in this team, you have no reason not to succeed!

Team Discipline Is A Must

I would have been very disappointed with you had the Super Eagles failed to reach the mundial, you know why? Not because you failed, but essentially because I didn’t see it coming, because I had a great faith in the technical crew of the team led by you. I would have been really disappointed even surprised, that the indigenous coach I rated so high failed at the highest stage (that wasn’t even the highest stage, the highest stages are the Nations and World Cups).

I would have been surprised and disappointed that given the wealth of resources you had in players, you couldn’t galvanize them into a discipline, committed and winning team. This is where you have a lot work to do. You need to introduce and enforce discipline into this team. That has been the only problem of this team since the days of Clemens Westerhof. That was the problem of the 2002 team that was disbanded (that team was led by you). I expected that by now, as a coach and a professional, you should have gone beyond the level where you can’t enforce discipline and commitment in your team. If you could do this, the sky will be your limit with this very team. As a experienced coach and a professionalism for that matter, do this and get it done effectively.

A coach shouldn’t beg players before they will play for him, such a coach is not worth his salt, neither should he field players on any other sentiments/premise other than fitness and commitment of the players to that team, any other sentiment is a bad omen for that team. Don’t field players for their names or clubs they play in, or even the talent they have. A player may be talented but he may not be fit, a player may even be fit but not committed to the team or the coach. As a coach, such a player has no place in your team. I say again, field the players who are committed to your course and that of the team. There are some big names in the Super Eagles rate zero in commitment, do without them.

If you can achieve a high level of commitment, discipline and reverence from these players, the sky will be your limit with this team. And it is your duty to achieve this. If you can’t achieve this, it will be totally your fault. That would really prove that you are indeed not good enough for the job (which I don’t think except you make me do). If you take the job purely professional, these players would have no reasons not to reverence you as they do their club coaches, and you’ll naturally succeed!
SportsBeware Siasia by SkillJed(op): 9:04pm On Nov 05, 2010
below are excerpts of a report i wrote in october 2009 when nigerians were clamouring for amodu's head. within the next few weeks, i'll be releasing excerpts of this report for coach samson siasia and indeed all super eagles lovers to read and learn from. siasia should beware of "hossana today, crucify him tomorrow"! below are your excerpts:

Nigerians Are Generally Insatiable

I’m sorry to say this but the truth must be said, it almost seem like sometimes there is nothing you can do to get Nigerian football fans satisfied. Let’s back up a little, in 97, when this same Amodu was sacked, Philip Troussier took over the national team (by the way, of course then, Troussier too wasn’t a world name, his only successes were only Ivory Coast and Morroco in club football till that very time, and I have lots of respect for him too as a coach and tactician), Troussier played three matches with the Super Eagles, he won all i.e. a 100% record, yet people screamed that he was bringing a strange formation and tactic to the national team, that he wasn’t good enough, despite his 100% record with the team. The summary is that he ended up being sacked after qualifying the Super Eagles for the World Cup ’98, despite his 100% record with the team. You begin to wonder, this people who say ‘sack the coach, sack the coach’, what do they really want in a coach. The same people who cried that Amodu was not a good coach and replaced him with Troussier also replaced the same Troussier before you could say Jack Robinson. The people who cried and lobbied for the sack of Troussier also said he wasn’t a world-class coach. Simply put, they are just critics, they never see anything positive, you can never satisfy them. They are the same ones crying for Amodu’s head today.

CONGRATS TO ALL NIGERIANS ON SELECTION OF SAMSON SIASIA AS SUPER EAGLES COACH
i do hope the paper aspect of the job will not be too much of a headache. i'm sure the F.F. have made a right decision this time. siasia has showed a high sense of professionalism on the national teams he has handled before this time.

as for keshi, i was sure he could never succeed as coach of the super eagles. it's not like i have anything against him. in fact i was one of the admirers of keshi's game in the super eagles, before that knee injury in '93 that made him a shadow of usual self till he finally retired in '96. i love defenders who are skillful, that was what keshi was when he was keshi in the national team.

but keshi could never coach the super eagles, mark my word, it would be a disaster. because of the legacy he left in the team. there is no way he could enforce discipline in this team. the big boys (so-to-say) in the super eagles today got their character from the legacy keshi left in that team, so how could he control them and infuse discipline in this team. they would all be saying: "oga, for your time, you sef do pass this o, we sabi your story well well". it would be a bad omen for the team.

keshi of course may coach other african teams and even succeed with them, but i'm sure (mark my word), he can never succeed with the super eagles because of his antecedents!

congrats to all nigerians on siasia's appointment. but siasia should beware, this job will not be as easy as he thinks. he should beware of "hossana today, crucify him tomorrow". that is nigerians for you!

i do hope the paper aspect of the job will not be too much of a headache. i'm sure the F.F. have made a right decision this time. siasia has showed a high sense of professionalism on the national teams he has handled before this time.

as for keshi, i was sure he could never succeed as coach of the super eagles. it's not like i have anything against him. in fact i was one of the admirers of keshi's game in the super eagles, before that knee injury in '93 that made him a shadow of usual self till he finally retired in '96. i love defenders who are skillful, that was what keshi was when he was keshi in the national team.

but keshi could never coach the super eagles, mark my word, it would be a disaster. because of the legacy he left in the team. there is no way he could enforce discipline in this team. the big boys (so-to-say) in the super eagles today got their character from the legacy keshi left in that team, so how could he control them and infuse discipline in this team. they would all be saying: "oga, for your time, you sef do pass this o, we sabi your story well well". it would be a bad omen for the team.

keshi of course may coach other african teams and even succeed with them, but i'm sure (mark my word), he can never succeed with the super eagles because of his antecedents!

congrats to all nigerians on siasia's appointment. but siasia should beware, this job will not be as easy as he thinks. he should beware of "hossana today, crucify him tomorrow". that is nigerians for you!

supereagle:
What was the success rate of Siasia with local clubs he handled? He failed with them. A good coach should have a Midas touch.
first of all, i congratulate all nigerians on the confirmation of the selection of samson siasia as super eagles coach!

it is absolutely wrong for you to judge siasia with heartland. what you should ask yourself is this: was he the one who builded the team (heartland) pre-season? did he have the time and programme to build a team for heartland? NO! Siasia was only called on a salvage mission, the heartland team was already in disarray, so never use that to judge the man. it was the same case with the 2009 flying eagles team. the team under ladan bosso was already in a mess. you can't judge siasia with that team, though he took responsibility for the team's result at the junior mundial (WYC). by the way, that is the kind of coach you want in the super eagles, a coach who will take responsibility for his team's results. not a christian chukwu who lays blame here and there on players lack of commitment. lack of commitment from players simply means the coach is not worth that job. and have you ever seen lack of commitment in siasia's teams? NEVER

we have to be objective with our judgement! siasia is the man for that job!

BECOMING A COMPUTER SKILLS GURU, GET A TRAINER!
we began a new series titled How To Become A Computer Skills Guru. It was eye-opening to say the least (well, if you didn’t read that issue, you will do well to find and read it now, that is the background to what we are doing today and the next few weeks). And I promised that I would begin taking you through the three routes to becoming a guru on the computer. The routes were given as:
• Register with a Trainer
• Train yourself
• Acquire tutorial software
I told you, you could use one, or two, or all of the three, any or all will work, so, beginning today, I’ll show you how they work and their merits.
• Do they operate an on-the-job training process for their clients?

Requirement number two is important but not compulsory, i.e. without it, you can still make progress, but if you can afford it, then you will do well to have it. It is good that you own a computer of your own. You need a computer of your own because it will be ever accessible to you, you will use it any and every time you want. You see, using the computer, especially when it is your own, is very interesting. When you are working on your own, even without a trainer, you find yourself learning, in fact, you find yourself learning a lot. Well, this may not be evident the very first time you sit on a system, but as you increase your frequency on the system, you will begin to see that most of the time, the computer is self-explanatory, it is user-friendly. Most novices don’t know this (and we trainers hide it as a secret) but I tell you it is true. Most of the programmes (software) we use on the computer are made to be user-friendly by the designers, and this is what you find when you have a ready access to a computer by virtue of having one for yourself.

The first thing it takes being able to read and write. Can you see what I am saying? After all, right now, you are reading this article; I bet of course that you can write too. In fact, I know most people reading this article may do better than me in reading and writing. You can see what I mean by you having met more than half of the conditions to be able to become a guru on the computer. You need to be able to read and write because all commands on the computer are labeled in texts (simple texts usually four- or five-letter words) and many times the computer makes itself self-explanatory by giving you clues to the commands you want to carry out. So you need to be able to read and write which have already fulfilled. That is number one.

You Can Become A Computer Skills Guru! What do I mean by You Can Become A Computer Skills Guru? Becoming a guru is not about anyone else but about you becoming a guru on the computer. It is about you coming to be what people would call expert, professional, professor, a guru! Any and every person can achieve it. In fact, if you follow my guide and direction on this column for the next few weeks, before long, you will find yourself, increasing your capacity for your job, income, family leisure, etc and then you find a whole new world of opportunities possibly opening up to you because of new skills and capacities you have acquired and are acquiring. So in summary, becoming a guru means you (this very you) can become a guru on the computer.

What does it take to become a guru on the computer? From experience, I know it takes simple things that are very much within the capacity of anyone and everyone reading this article. In fact, for you to be reading this article now mans you have more than half of what it takes to become a guru on the computer. You will understand what I mean as you read on.

So, what does it take?
• The first thing it takes being able to read and write
• It is good that you own a computer of your own (though not compulsory)

ComputersRe: My System Restarts Continously: ! by SkillJed(m): 5:15pm On Nov 02, 2010
first of all, ensure your voltage input supply is okay, that is the input match the specification of the system.

if you have a good voltage supply, then most likely it is not a hardware problem. i do believe the problem of your system most likely must be virus attack. back up your files, format the system, install an original antivirus software (with original licence key). that should solve the problem.

observe the system for some time before you copy those back-up back into your system

now virus scan those files (the back-up) before you copy them back to your system because the virus(es) may still be lurking in somewhere there!

SportsWhy Keshi Can't Coach The Super Eagles by SkillJed(op): 10:58pm On Nov 01, 2010
below are excerpts of a report i wrote in october 2009, but believe me, it still makes some sense. and don't mind that i was among the few who thought and openly said that amodu should be allowed to take the super eagles to both the nations and world cups, i still stand by that opinion, the rest is now history. in hindsight, you 'll see, the text made lots of sense:
Does Amodu Have The Technical and Tactical Depth?
Some have concluded that our local coaches (including Amodu) don’t have the technical and tactical depth to coach at the highest level. Some go further and say only Samson Siasia is the Nigerian coach who can coach at the highest level. Where do they place Amodu? He just isn’t good enough! I disagree with them. Truly it’s a pity to see the attitude, outlook, non-professionalism, immaturity, corruption, performance and behaviour of some of our local coaches, even the high-rated ones, it’s appalling to see or analyse some of them. I’m sorry to say, but to be explicit and realistic; one of such is Christian Chukwu. As a coach (not as a man, he may be a good man), the respect and admiration I have for him is as high as zero, he is a nobody. He commands no respect from the press, the players, the F.A., nobody, lacks initiative, authority and direction. His story is for another day, not today.

But there are other Nigerian coaches I have lots of respect and admiration for. People like Shuaibu Amodu, Samson Siasia, Dan Amokachie, Austin Eguavoen, Steve Keshi; on the local scene Kadiri Ikhana, Alphonsus Dike. But the first four mentioned are capable of the national teams, I’m sure of that. While I have lots of respect for Steve Keshi, I’m not sure he can work and succeed in Nigeria, the reason being the legacy he left in the Super Eagles in his days as the team’s captain, the Big-boss legacy, that is what the younger ones (like Mikel, Yakubu and others) are copying today (it is no more Big-boss, it is now big-man), that legacy has haunted the team since he left.

For example, after the Kenya game, I heard one young fellow (analyst so to say) saying Amodu is the coach he knows who would field two defensive midfielders at once, that it was a tactical error. That fellow knows nothing he thinks he is talking about. There is nothing wrong in that depending on your game plan. Even the world reknown coaches such as Morinho, Benitez do that too sometimes, so why is it bad if an Amodu does it, it only depends on the match strategy suited to that particular game. But that same match plan won him the match and the world cup ticket!
