Be carefull, when you get an entry to one of the Shengen country's it don't automaticly means that you can travel to another Shengen country. Sometimes the wrote on the visa where you apply for just axes to that country.
The people on the embassy are not stuppid, the have more info than you think
Be carefull with facebook, people give more information than the ever think.

Devine R. do what SUXES2005 wrote, follow the website, it don't matter if you enter Belgium or Netherlands, both are Shengen country, requirements will be the same for both country's.

Expencive ones : Marina, Novotel: 70000 CFA
Average: Du Port, Du Lac: 45000 CFA
Good hotel but cheaper (no swimming pool) : TramWay : 25000 CFA (with AC) I real recommend this one, nice people, restaurant (local and Europe food), nice bar with live band in the week-end.
Enjoy.

I was a month ago for 5 weeks in Cotonou, its very safe don't worry about that, for sure there are some locations where you better stay away during night, but that is every where in the world.
There are a lot of hotels in Cotonou, from expensive ones (Marina, Novotel, etc, ) till average (Hotel du port, Hotel du Lac, etc, ) and cheap ones (TramWay, , ) it depends on what you want (swimming pool, , )
Cotonou is a nice location to explore the Slave Route, Lake Ganvie, Grand Popo (one of the most beautifully beaches in the world°
Have a nice trip and stay.

Family / Re: How Can Someone Living Abroad Have A Good Traditional Wedding Without Going Home by skydiver(m): 3:09pm On Nov 20, 2008
Dear,

I am also an "oyibo" and married a women from PH 3 years ago. I did my traditional wedding in the "village" of her father who died years ago. On that time it was more safe in the Delta than now, someone have understand that well because for the moment the Delta is not safe for "oyibo" even not for Naija women who are married with "whites" Because its not only MEND who come for there rights, but a lot of bad people who have nothing to do with MEND kidnapping whites because of the randsom the ask for it. Even MEND is not happy with it. It is nice to hear you take care for your white husband and because you are in Europe you know he have to work very hard for his women, even here in Europe money don't grow on trees, its not the land of milk and honey as mush people think.
Try to educate your father, brothers and sisters, as for me my Nigerian family is wonderfull, whole my traditional wedding was arrange by my wife mother, she don't even tell the village that I was an "oyibo"! The village (elders) see it when the brougt me out for the ceremony. So I don't pay any kobo more than a Nigerian man will do.
I can tell you it was a great thing and expirence for me and all the participants.
Its 3 years ago that I was last time in PH, sometimes my wife come over here or we take a vacation in Benin Republic or Ghana and enjoy every moment together. Yes I want to go back to PH and hope the situation will be peacefull some day so that I can go out there enjoy the good moments I have in D-Plaza between all the Naija people and not lock me up in the house for my own safety and that of my wife and family.
The only advice I can give you is that you must enjoy every piece of life, enjoy your marriage and time will bring solution.
Try to convince your father and family of the situation right now, when the love you the will understand.

Its a good idea to have a break in Cotonou, a good cheap clean small hotel is "Tram-Way" it is just behind the church "Notre Dame" close to everything but quiet. There is also a bar and restaurant on it and in the week-end a live band is playing.
I was there for several times with my Nigerian wifeand we are very happy with it, transport is cheap with okada and the drive safely.
Enjoy.
Travel / Re: Someone Help, I Think Am Roasting In Europe by skydiver(m): 8:45am On Jul 13, 2008
It depends on how you see it, a lot of Africans (not all) see Europe as the land of milk and honey.
My wife (Nigerian) who still lives in Nigeria have visit me twice over here and will visit me next month again, the things she like is that for here all looks organised here (no problems with NEPA !), drinking water, etc, but on the other side she see also how expencive it is, even to go pee you have to pay, and she see also I have to work hard for my money, even not here I can get money from trees. On the other side I understand that some people want to explore Europe, I was many times in PH (not as a worker!) but to visiting my wife. As a see how many people have to strugle for live and what pleaces the live and how the be treatend by there own police force than I understand the want to go to the "land of milk and honey". I just warned people who go true the dessert, the few people who make it can tell you, the only people who are ok with it are the people who organised this trips, the don't care about your lives! the just care about your money, do you know how many of Africans are stranded and never get the other side? Every day on television I see the same story again, children and women who died in the boat trip and at least the survivors picked up by border controle and sending back.
If LastKing don't feel fine in Europe it must be easy for him to quit his job and return to Africa, no big deal, I think he can not deal with the mentality in Europe (everything must be on time, people don't speak to eachother like Africans do, other culture, etc, ) but when I am in Nigeria I have to follow also the rules of the place where I am so I know and I do.
One thing I agree: Europe have not the laugh that you people have, singing and happiness even in bad days.
I wish all the best for you all, and may God bless you and make this world a happy world.
