TheSonOfMark: Sir, it is a known fact in that ward that he was an APC supporter. When he stormed the unit with a couple other hooligans, he was shouting " adiok ano Udom", which in Ibibio means "May it not be well with Udom [Emmanuel]. Udom Emmanuel is the PDP candidate for Akwa-Ibom state. That section of Uyo are predominantly PDP supporters. There are several other cases like in Ikot Ekpene where APC thugs snatched ballot boxes. APC are the clear underdogs in Akwa-Ibom politics and they've been the desperate ones. Do your research and don't try to negate a known fact just so it'll align with your distorted idea of the truth. THE WEAPON WAS CONCEALED IN HIS TROUSER PANTS. Even with what you've written above, some APC fans won't believe you. They ignorantly believe thuggery is not associated with them, they believe their own lies. |

Please I advice you all to go get a copy of the nigerian constitution and enlighten yourselves before you start this our long awaited war.
I pray for Jimi to win and if that happens and you people didn't start this your war then you shall all die in the lagoon. I don't like when they say: "Have Yoruba people not been good to you? Have they not been good hosts?" I mean, so what? Must your host be condemned your whims because you've been good? Or they expect the Igbo people to trade their choice and rights for a plate of porridge? |

Eruditor: He is a Hero that deserves a Nobel prize by Nigerian standards. That's how convincing and thorough Nigerian standards are. So non-mediocre he was a governor that he had to rig himself to become a senator with 400k votes and then he issued 953k votes to another Nobel prize-deserving President even though both senatorial and presidential elections happened at the same time.
Nigeria I hail thee and thy standards! Election rigging is a general menace in Nigeria and the opposite of mediocre is not hero. |

Eruditor: No Sir, the companies were not already there. Infact 80% of them came as the city developed. Abuja has been the Country's capital since 1991 and the growth there is not as brisk as Lagos'. Akwa-ibom was carved out of then Cross-Rivers and Cross- Rivers used to be the capital of Nigeria at some point. Let us stop celebrating mediocres as heroes for goodness' sake. Akpabio is not a mediocre, not by Nigerian standards, and I'm not celebrating him. There are governors who couldn't do projects that are commensurate with the little they receive. |
Politics › Re: Akpabio On Buhari's Visit (pic) by slap1(m): 2:25pm On Apr 10, 2015 |
Eruditor: With the resources of the state and closeness to the FG between 1999-2015, shouldn't Akwa-ibom have pushed for a seaport? Is that not what I am talking about when addressing good governance? Do you think good governance is about building a few roads here and there and a stadium? I don't get what you mean by closeness to the FG and you don't get a seaport by pushing for it. It involves some bureaucratic (and ethnic) bottlenecks in this country. Where is the second Niger bridge? |
Politics › Re: Akpabio On Buhari's Visit (pic) by slap1(m): 2:21pm On Apr 10, 2015 |
Eruditor: Tinubu and Fashola created a framework and working environment for the companies to see reason for establishing their companies in Lagos. It is the same measure I expect from Akpabio. The companies were already there and Lagos was automatically going to be developed as a capital and cosmopolitan city. Akwa-Ibom has started by building roads and other basic amenities. The new stadium and international airport will rub off on the state's economy at some point. You don't sleep and wake up to see all that. |
Politics › Re: Akpabio On Buhari's Visit (pic) by slap1(m): 2:14pm On Apr 10, 2015 |
Eruditor: Best performing governor in Nigeria? Built a stadium faster than Amaechi, because Akwa-ibom has the same population with Rivers? Is it only Federal allocations Akwa-ibom receives? Don't they have internally generated revenues? Should Akwa-Ibom not be rivalling Lagos? Based on finances alone, not yet, sir. Lagos did not get their overnight. So many factors are involved, right from the colonial days. What would you do, as the governor of Akwa-Ibom, to build seaports and attract multinationals to your state? Lagos was a former capital city which hugely accounted for its development, it's not just down to raw cash alone! |
Politics › Re: Akpabio On Buhari's Visit (pic) by slap1(m): 2:06pm On Apr 10, 2015 |
Eruditor: How much IGR Lagos generates is immaterial because Akwa-ibom could as well do that. That is what should even be celebrated as good governance and not a situation where a state receives N136B in 6 months and yet their achievements cannot be compared with another state that receives N55B and has 10 times the population of the other state. So with the number of companies and commercial activities in Lagos State, Akwa-Ibom should generate more revenues than it abi? How many of those companies did Fashola build, since it's a sign of good governance? |

boxypane: Mr. Akpabio... Inmate no. 002 (checked). U wan introduce d person wey go waste more of state money. That state recieves more federal allocation than Lagos, yet stands out for nothing important. Nothing important like? Have you been to Akwa-Ibom? How much internally-generated revenue does Lagos generate? |
Politics › Re: Akpabio On Buhari's Visit (pic) by slap1(m): 1:52pm On Apr 10, 2015 |
Bevista: Maybe you should compare what Akpabio collects from FAAC with what other governors collect.
For instance, Akwa Ibom receives about 10 times what Osun state receives. Akwa Ibom receives more than all the SE states put together. A government that will work will work, irrespective of federal allocations; the number of projects may only be smaller. Give Akwa-Ibom's allocation to Abia State (under T. A Orji) and nothing would change. |
