Pension/Salary Arrears: N740bn

Oil Subsidy Debt: N350bn

Paris Club Overdeductions: $5.4bn

JV CashCall Arrears: $6.8bn

Contractor Debt/EEG Debt: N1.9 Trn

Refunds to States for Roads: N488bn

Total: 7 TRILLION Naira

You can’t understand where we are today without understanding where we’re coming from. At least 7 TRILLION Naira in unpaid debts/liabilities, accumulated between 1999-2015, inherited by Buhari Administration.

All now being paid/settled. Even amidst relatively-low oil prices.

Look at Salaries/Pensions arrears. Examples abound: Nigerian Airways staff laid off 2003/4,unpaid until 2018. Delta Steel Co, Ex-Biafra Police Officers (pardoned since 2000)

Look at Paris Club Overdeductions. The monies in question date back to the period between 1995 and 2002. (FG over-deducted money from States for repayment of Paris Club debt)

In 2016 PMB directed that the claims of over-deduction be formally reconciled by the DMO.

Note:

EEG is Export Expansion Grant

Road Refunds to States are for Federal Roads repaired by States in expectation of reimbursements by FG

JV Cash Calls are Joint Venture Cash Calls owed to International Oil Companies (IOCs) over the years

Politics / Re: PDP Berates APC Over Fabrications Against Atiku, Obi by Slayedchick: 11:44am On Oct 25, 2018
PDP dangerous set of people, attention seekers crying wolf.
Anambralstson:
October 24, 2018

Press Statement

PDP Berates APC over Fabrications Against Atiku, Obi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the combination of its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, former governor Peter Obi has been well-received by Nigerians across board, contrary to spurious publications being sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party said the APC, and the Buhari Presidency, having failed to stop the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as Presidential candidate; having failed in their attempts to smear him with unfounded allegations, have now resorted to attacking our vice Presidential candidate and trying to create the impression that he is not well received in some parts of the country.

The PDP is already aware of how the APC has paid millions of naira to hack writers to spin negative narratives with a view to create an impression of disagreement and bad blood among our leaders and members across the northern and southern divides, who have since aligned with the Atiku/Obi ticket.

The PDP and majority of Nigerians are aware that the APC and the Muhammadu Buhari Presidency have been jittery since the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as our Presidential candidate, a disposition that heightened with the choice of Peter Obi as his running mate, hence their frenzy to cause confusion within our fold.

The PDP restates that the combination of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, with their internationally acclaimed forthrightness, hard work, ingenuity and managerial competencies, guarantee a prudent and result-oriented administration that will liberate our nation from the economic shackles which the wasteful, incompetent, and deceptive APC administration has plunged our nation into.

Furthermore, the Buhari Presidency and APC’s unrelenting resort to fabrications and personal attacks against our candidates instead of presenting their claimed achievements and programmes to Nigerians, confirms that they have nothing to offer as they have been trending on false performance claims and propaganda.

On our own part, the PDP, as a Pan Nigerian and performance-oriented political party, will never descend to the shallows with the fading APC and the Buhari Presidency, but focus on how to salvage our nation from the economic hardship, acute hunger and starvation as well as the daily bloodletting that have become the order of the day under the President Buhari administration.

Nigerians have gone through enough pain and anguish under President Buhari and no amount of smear campaign and personal attack on our candidates will ever whittle their resolve to vote in Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi with their proven political will and commitment to the welfare of Nigerians.

Politics / Re: Nobody Will Leave Nigeria For You - PDP Replies President Buhari by Slayedchick: 11:27am On Oct 25, 2018
PDP has no say in all these because they are the most corrupt party and mother of fabrications, PDP can cry 16 years of crocodile tears.
MrGidifeed:
The Peoples Democratic Party has condemned President Buhari’s statement where he said Nigerians “who feel they have another country may choose to go.”

The PDP described the statement as unpresidential, defeatist and characteristic of what it called failed leadership. With the statement, the party said the President spoke like someone who had lost sense of responsibility towards his citizens.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, said President Buhari, in saying that Nigerians, “who feel they have another country may choose to go”, had further confirmed that “he is completely insensitive to the plight of our citizens and has no solution to the myriad of problems his incompetent and disorganised administration has caused our nation.”

He described the President’s comment as “unfatherly” and a direct slap on the sensibilities of millions of Nigerians, who he said, had been painfully bearing the economic hardship, hunger and starvation which he said was allegedly caused by President Buhari’s administration.

Ologbondiyan said these were the problems that were forcing Nigerians to embark on what he called suicide missions and slavery as survival options. He said, “Such comment is a spit on the graves of thousands of compatriots killed by marauders in various parts of the country, while the Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress remained aloof without decisive actions to end the carnage and bring the perpetrators of the bloodlettings to book.

Politics / Re: Osinbajo: What Surprised Me Most As Vice President by Slayedchick: 12:46pm On Oct 23, 2018
This issue of grand corruption is one we all must face and together with our leaders we can eradicate this evil so as to build a better nigeria.
Joafjoe2018:
Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has revealed his greatest surprise in office as vice president.

Professor Osinbajo revealed that what shocked him most was what he described as “grand corruption.”

During his presentation at the ongoing 24th Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, Professor Yemi Osinbajo spoke on Corruption and Rule of Law.

Recall that, Osinbajo had earlier lamented that whenever he tried dismissing corrupt public officer holders, some religious leaders would always intervene.

“I think, frankly, the biggest surprise for me has been the sheer impact of corruption on development,” he said.

“Whereas what we were more familiar with was corruption in the public procurement process and the like, but what is rare and damaging is directly going to the very source of revenue and taking public resource for private.”

He further explained that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government had made some significant impact in this area by “holding persons who made away with public funds accountable, taking them to court, seizing their assets both locally and internationally and transferring back to the country proceeds of corruption.”

He lamented that, “Trying to get money from foreign governments or from foreign banks is an obstacle for Nigeria. It is laden with all manner of difficulties and it is obvious that there is no enthusiasm about returning money that is already in their custody. It is very, very difficult.”

Politics / Re: 2019: Ekweremadu Set To Dump PDP For APC by Slayedchick: 12:25pm On Oct 23, 2018
Bad energy stay far away.
kahal29:
Barring any last minute change, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu will dump Nigeria’s major opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Daily Sun gathered that Ekweremadu has been involved in high-level negotiations with the top echelon of the APC, “because he was aggrieved about the way he has been treated since Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki defected to the PDP.

“What is, however, unclear is the position the APC will give him upon defection.

A source said Ekweremadu’s defection “is just in a matter of days.”

This will be another major defection after Saraki and former minority leader, Godswill Akpabio, defected from the APC and PDP, respectively.

It was also gathered that “Ekweremadu was not happy with the way he was used and dumped by the PDP.”

A chieftain of the APC from the South East had earlier said: “Look at the way they treated Ekweremadu. When all of them left, Ekweremadu remained to fight for the survival of this party. How many of them would have resisted the temptation not to defect in the face of the intimidation, harassment, prosecution, and persecution meted out on him.

“As a person, he had nothing to lose if he had defected then. In fact, he had everything to gain. He probably would have been the Senate president because he was offered the slot. Then, when you people now return, you feel that people who had helped this party to survive did not matter, again, simply because you got a presidential ticket. Also, even Saraki knows that if the DSP had not been loyal, they would have gotten at him (Saraki) long ago.

“All the trials Ekweremadu was put through were all because of Saraki. But, when it was the turn of Saraki to be there for him, he failed him and as we speak, how many days is this after the primary. Atiku is yet to call DSP. You don’t treat a man who has been taking bullets on you people’s behalf like that. Well, I wish them and PDP well, but, they should know that action begets reaction and they will pay the price for this mistreatment of people, who labored for the party during the toughest time. And, if Ekweremadu leaves, we will hold these people responsible,” he stated.

Politics / Re: Atiku Wins 2019 Election by Slayedchick: 3:24pm On Oct 19, 2018
This is so false.
chuqudy:
I have observed something happening in social media recently. Any online poll between Buhari and anything, even a goat, Buhari loses. We have even seen stone defeat Buhari in online polls recently.

I have also observed that diehard Buhari supporters in nairaland here blame the big votes on Igbos. This is ridiculous. Are Igbos the only tribe in Nigeria using Social media. During the last presidential elections, we all observed how goats and stones defeated Jonathan in online polls. Who were casting the online polls then? Were they Igbos too?

Let me shock you people a little. Igbos+Yorubas+Hausas+Fulanis are not up to half of Nigeria's population. We have many other neglected tribes with huge populations.

Most Yorubas are sick and tired of Buhari and his style of administration. But due to the fact that a lot of yorubas hate Igbos, hatred for Igbos, Buhari would manage to win there. Sowore and other popular Yoruba contestants would also divide the votes there.

I laugh when I hear some people say that Buhari will get huge votes in the south east and south south. This is my region and any body supporting Buhari is seen as an outcast and such person's life is at risk. I was a victim of this when I supported Buhari in 2015. I was ridiculed and called all sorts of names. I was like 1 person in the midst of 1000. Things have become worse since then after the python dance and 97%/5% comment of Buhari as well as poor performance of the only APC governor in southeast and his boss, Buhari. Buhari should just forget about Southeast and south south. He should not be deceived by Rochas and Apkabio. He should focus on Southwest even though Sowore and Durotoye will pour sand in his garri.

Let's leave south and go to central Nigeria. No sane person from there, after seeing how quiet Buhari is to the Fulani herdsmen killings in the region, would vote for Buhari. Let me not talk much about this region because it is clear that Buhari has lost the trust of this region.

In the north, no doubt, Buhari is very popular. But Atiku will win in the north east. Buhari winning the north east is like yorubas voting for Ngige instead of Tinubu. This is common sense.

Buhari will surely win the northwest but not with large margin like he did in 2015. The elites are no longer with him. The shia Muslims are no longer with him. America is no longer with him. Tinubu and Atiku are like 5 and 6. Don't be surprised that Tinubu may secretly work for Atiku.

In summary, do not under rate online polls. Why PDP won in online polls during the Ekiti elections while losing in the main election was because the online poll was available to every Nigerian online to vote and not only for Ekiti people. Ekiti may be for APC because of Fayose's poor performance but Nigeria altogether has more PDP supporters today. If you create an online poll now on who will win Lagos, PDP will win because PDP supporters everywhere in Nigeria voted. But during the main elections, only those in Lagos will vote and APC may win. However, when it comes to Buhari vs Atiku, the online polls are true reflections of how the 2019 presidential election would be. This election is unrigable because Atiku will win with very wide margin more that what Buhari used to defeat Jonathan.

For those saying that no one is articulating in the north, wait till campaign time. You will see the Atiku/Obi wind sweeping the whole northeast and north central. I don't know why Buhari wants to disgrace himself in 2019. He shouldn't have contested.

Nairaland is a Yoruba owned site and I don't see how Igbos would be more in nairaland than Yorubas. I also see no reason why Hausas/Fulanis would still be in stone age in 2018 and not have access to social media as some Buhari's supporters claim. Let's see who would win now.

Politics / Re: Buhari's Corruption Fight Highest Deceit This Nation Has Ever Experienced by Slayedchick: 2:09pm On Oct 19, 2018
Buhari's fight against corruption has been the bedrock of this administration, his commitment towards exposing every corrupt politician that is bent on crippling this economy has been his fight, fishing out looters.
Dutchbraht:
Moreover, it is a settled saying that birds of the same feathers flock together. The fact that President Buhari comfortably surrounds himself with persons indicted for corruption, sundry frauds, common scams as well as forgeries is very revealing on the phoniness of his administration’s fight against corruption.
We were all conned when Buhari said he was coming to fight corruption:
-Buhari’s Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, who has been accused of dodging her compulsory national service and allegedly forged the NYSC Exemption Certificate and was given police escort to flee the country
-Buratai multi million dollar mansion in Dubai was never probed
-Dambazau $2 million dollar mansion in Connecticut, USA was never probed
-It is no longer news that one Obono-Obla, President Buhari’s Special Assistant on Prosecution and Chairman, Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property in Buhari’s anti-corruption team has been indicted for forging his WAEC certificate, yet his boss, Mr. Integrity has refused to investigate him.
-River's state judicial panel of inquiry had in 2015 issued a government white paper indicting Rotimi Amaechi of looting over N90 billion through alleged illegal sale of the assets belonging to the state. After all, the said white paper further alleged that N40 billion out of the looted N90 billion was diverted for APC’s 2015 Presidential campaigns
-President Buhari and APC need to explain whose interests they are protecting by suppressing investigation into the alleged use of 18 unregistered companies to lift and divert N1.1 trillion worth of crude oil in 2017. Who are the owners of these companies?
-The police and EFCC refused to investigate Ganduje collecting bribes despite video evidence.
Politics / Re: No Plan To Sell Ajaokuta Steel, Osinbajo Assures Kogi Gov by Slayedchick: 2:00pm On Oct 19, 2018
How will a government sell what is owned by the federal government is not possible so we should beware of false news.
8Ebisco:
Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello yesterday met Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over speculations that the federal government is planning on selling Ajaokuta Steel.

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Governor Bello said the Vice president assured him that there is no plan by the government to sell the steel company.

He said “first of all, the Vice President, being the Chairman of the National Economic Council, we came to make some enquiries from him over the purported sale of Ajaokuta Steel Complex and he has indicated that there is nothing like that.

“He said there is no plan by the Federal Government to sale Ajaokuta Steel Company. The VP said Ajaokuta is an asset of the Federal Government and that they are looking into how best to make good use of that particular complex for the benefit of Nigerians at large.

Recall that the Kogi state Elders Forum had vowed to resist any attempt to sell off the Ajaokuta Steel Company.

The forum, in a statement issued in Lokoja said it would employ all constitutional means to stop the sale of the “sprawling integrated steel company.”

The Federal government, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele had hinted that the aim of the planned sale is to raise more money to implement the country’s 2018 deficit-based budget.

Governor Bello also boasted that the 2019 presidential election will be a walk over for President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him, the north central will deliver massive votes as never witnessed before to President Buhari in the general elections.

He said “On the preparation for 2019 general elections he said, every primary can be anchor out and everybody can hustle for one ticket or the other.

“ I can assure you that we have a capable leadership of the party – President Muhammadu Buhari. Also, we have our able chairman, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomole who is doing his best to ensure that the party is strong and the party is really very strong.

“As for the general elections, in Kogi State, we are one hundred percent ready and we are going sweep all the state and by the grace of God, we shall bring out a vote that has never been witnessed in the North Central by the Grace of God.

“ I can assure you as well that the 2019 elections for Mr President, it’s going to be a walk over by the grace of God.

He also disclosed that state would on Saturday coronate the new Oba of Kabba.

“Also, we are going to coronate the new Oba of Kabba on Saturday, we came to notify him as a father of the event that is coming up on Saturday and to seek for his blessings, “ he added.

To the hypocrites @henryshield, @adeyanjudeji . Read @MBuhari achievements.
It's only a big time thief that will say that 200000 @npower_ng beneficiaries is not an achievement. I guess PMB should have shared the #6billion used to pay them monthly among elites every month.

Anyone who dismiss the school feeding program @NHGFSP is a fool. The farmers and workers who benefit and the children whose enrollment has increased should have been at home.

‏It's only a fraud and a lying fool that will tell me that a man who met foreign reserve depleted to #30billion and increased it to a high of #47billion amidst comparatively lower oil prices has not achieved anything.

Only an insane person will say that the security situation PMB met on ground in the Niger delta ravaged by Militants and bunkerers, Ikorodu ravaged by Badoo, South East ravaged by kidnappers, North East ravaged by Boko Haram hasn't improved under PMB.

The herdsmen they sponsor have been quiet since they started hunting for their return tickets. Their recent attempt to escalate it led to the Du pond discovery in plateau, they have been very quiet about the revelation.

Therefore anyone who says PMB hasn't achieved anything is either a thief, bigot or a lunatic or is deceived or being sentimental. I rest my case.

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, says the Federal Government is focusing on more creative ways of getting Nigerians out of poverty and also improve the country’s Human Capital Development indices.

The fight against poverty has been a central plank of development planning since the assumption of Buhari into government. In reaction to the horrendous poverty crisis in Nigeria, different interventionist programs have been established by governments. Programs like the Marketmoni, Tradermoni, Farmermoni etc. More so, the government has so far put in strategies in place such as diversifying into agriculture and growing what we eat.

Politics / Osinbajo In Kogi As Flood Kills 108, Displaces 141,369 by Slayedchick: 9:27am On Sep 25, 2018
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has pledged the Federal Government’s assistance for Kogi State communities ravaged by flood.

The Vice-President made the pledge on Monday while on a visit to the St.Luke’s Internally Displaced Persons’ Camp in Koton-Karfe.

He said, “I have already done some preliminary assessment; some relief materials have been sent and there is a need for more and we will ensure that more relief materials are sent.”

The Vice-President pleaded with the people to accommodate one another, “especially in this trying period”.

“We should be able to accommodate our people, to be as comfortable as possible, despite the terrible circumstances of this flooding,” he said.

Osinbajo, in company with the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, toured areas in the state affected by the flood, especially in the Ibaji Local Government Area.

“We moved round and we have taken a look at many of the flood sites and it is very clear that a lot of damage has been done to farmlands and to houses.

“For those, it is the intention of the Federal Government, working with the state government, to offer some rehabilitation and some comfort in whatever way possible to those who have lost their farmlands and those who have lost their homes.

“Land and property are under water and after this period when the water recedes, that is really when the hard work begins because those who have lost farmlands need to be restored somehow and need to be compensated.

“I hope that in the next few weeks, we would be able to return people not just to their farmlands but also to their homes,” the Vice-President added.

Nairaland / General / Shocking: Things You Don't Know About Trademoni... by Slayedchick: 4:09pm On Sep 20, 2018
DID YOU KNOW?
N10,000 is not the only amount you can get from @Trader_Moni. The money grows as you pay back and you can get up to N100,000.

At the beginning you can access N10,000 and pay back N10,250 to qualify for N15,000. Once you payback N15,375 you will qualify for N20,000 loan, when you pay back N21,000 you will get N50,000. All these stages have duration of six months interval to pay back. A good initiative from the FG.

The Bank of Agriculture was restructured in 2016 in other to render critical assistance to the agricultural sector in terms of food security and increased export of agro-products to boost the nation's GDP.

Diversification of the Nigerian economy is a major focus of the Buhari Administration. Overcoming economic recession and trying to stay afloat, the government decided to look into the agricultural sector; developing and improving it to encourage business-driven agricultural practice.

In November 2015, the CBN in line with its developmental functions, launched the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme to create a linkage between anchor companies (Agro processing companies) involved in agricultural processing and Small Holder Farmers.

The targets is to fully stop rice importation by 2019.

If Osinbajo is stupid. Good! I like stupid people who for the first time are interacting with people at the grass root and making sure they get a share of the commonwealth and not just the elites like it used to be in the past.

Millions have been in abject poverty before the assumption of this government. Agree that people are suffering, If empowering them with 10k to start a petty trade is one of the measures put in place, i see nothing wrong with that. Do you know what 10k can do to a woman looking for just 5k to start a business? I bet you don't. If you don't support it, keep your opinion to yourself and let people who need this see it for what it is and leverage on it. I started my business with just 5k and now i make nothing less that 10k in a day. Oga go and sleep and stop wailing like an ambulance.
