PoliticsMore Funds For Petty Traders Says Osinbajo. by Slayedchick(op): 11:17am On Sep 14, 2018
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday told beneficiaries of the Trader Moni loan scheme in Gbagi Market, Ibadan that more funds would be committed to the scheme as soon as the traders began to pay back.

The Vice-President was in the market to assess how the loan was being executed and to ensure that all registered traders got the money. Twenty-seven thousand petty traders and artisans benefited from the scheme in Oyo State.

The collateral-free loan, which was dispensed through the Bank of Industry, is part of the Federal Government’s National Social Investment Programme under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme meant to reinforce the Federal Government’s commitment to bridge the credit gap and empower Nigerians at the grassroots.

The VP said the Federal Government recognised the genuine contribution of petty traders to aid the nation’s economy, stressing that the loan was a progressive one, which would not only help traders to expand their businesses, but also change their standards of living.

PoliticsRe: PMB Recovers N769b From Asset And Fund Recovery Audit. by Slayedchick: 10:32am On Sep 13, 2018
Thanks to this administration every recovered loot will be put back to the economy to help with places and sector that needs it.
Buterflyle0:
By Johnbosco Agbakwuru
ABUJA – PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday appealed to the National Assembly to hasten the passage of the Proceeds of Crime Bill before it in order to strengthen his anti-corruption war in the country.

This is as the President has vowed to make optimal use of proceeds of recovered loots to address the economic and social problems and has promised to block loopholes for stealing public funds.
The President made the appeal when he received report of the committee on the Audit of Recovered Public Assets which he set up last year to carry out a comprehensive audit of assets and funds recovered by Ministries, Departments and Agencies between 29th May 2015 and 22nd November 2017.

The three-member Committee which said it had recovered N769 billion is chaired by Olufemi Lijadu, an accountant from the Auditor General of the Federation office, Mohammed Nami, and Gloria Chinyere Bibogha.

Pointing out that assets recovery is an integral part of the war against corruption, the President said the committee was empanelled not only to reconcile different figures released as recovered loot since 2015, but to also evolve a proper management, transparency and accountability culture in the management of recovered assets

According to him: “Our asset recovery and management system will in future be transparently, effectively and efficiently managed, and we will set out a fresh template of public accountability in the country.

“However, a key tool that will revolutionize our asset recovery and management architecture is the Proceeds of Crimes Bill which is currently awaiting passage by the National Assembly.

“Once the Bill is passed and assented, many of the challenges facing our asset recovery and management practice will be adequately taken care of as the Bill addresses most of the challenges facing effective asset recovery and management in Nigeria. I therefore encourage the National Assembly to take necessary steps to pass the Bill.”

He promised that proceeds of assets recoveries would be optimally used to address economic and social problems, while loopholes for stealing public funds must be blocked; even as he assured Nigerians that the findings and recommendations of the Committee would be carefully examined and given due consideration with a view to implementing the recommendations.

Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who stressed that the committee’s work was intended to avoid a re-looting of the recovered assets, proposed that projects funded by recovered loot should henceforth be appropriately captured in national budgets.

Giving a mini breakdown of the recovered assets, Malami said: “The federal government recovered N13.8 billion from tax evaders in May 2018.

“In May 2018, government paid N439.2million to about 14 whistle blowers who gave specific information on tax evasion.

“Again, N3.8 million, $378million US dollars 27,800 pounds was equally recovered from public officials.

“In summary, the recovered funds by the three-man committee is N769 billion naira cash, recovered within the period under review.”

Chairman of the Committee, Lijadu, in his brief remarks, disclosed that it was complied in four volumes even as he appealed to government to always deploy recovered assets properly.

Lijadu said, “The government agencies covered by the audit are the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) Nigeria Police Force, Pension Transitional Arrangement Department, PTAD, Federal Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, and Department of State Security, DSS.

“The Committee obtained access to records including bank statements and other information from government agencies, banks and other organizations regarding recovered cash and non cash public assets. The Committee as required by its Terms of Reference, reviewed and attempted to reconcile the recovered assets as declared by agencies with the actual recoveries made.”

sellamarket:
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday told Nigerians to resist the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019.

He said this while submitting his nomination and expression of interest forms purchased for him by the Nigeria Consolidation Ambassadors’ Network (NCAN).

Buhari submitted the forms at the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.

In his remarks, Buhari said “I here in person among friends and colleagues to put my name forward to my party, the All Progressives Congress, seeking nomination to contest the Presidential Elections next year, 2019.

“Fellow party members, I am taking this step with all humility, sense of responsibility and an unquestionable desire to serve and protect the interests of all Nigerians.

“I am very grateful to those dozens of organizations who have joined together and contributed funds to purchase these forms. I assure them and the rest of Nigerians that, if nominated and if elected, I shall continue to serve you to the best of my ability.

“Let me today appeal to party members not to be complacent but to prepare, strategize and win in 2019 elections. We must not allow those who brought the country to its knees from 1999 to 2015 to come and take us back.”

PDP are just bunch of hypocrites. What they failed to do successfully and transparently for 16 years, now they mock someone who has the courage to do it. Who puts the people's interest first before anything else.

For PDP and their fellow wailers, this is how the program works.

This is an administration that has been able to fight corruption immensely, tackle insecurity issues, developed new vision for Niger Delta, empowered youths, finishing abandoned capital projects, connecting The Nation through new standard rail projects, gave collateral-free loans to the poor and the most vulnerable ones. What PDP and their Co-hort failed to do for 16 years.

If all Nigerians live like Lifeless Human beings Nigeria would have a better place to live. The kinda respect the lifeless president is getting from foreign dignitaries is second to none. Buhari is the only President of Nigeria that can look to Western Leaders "eye ball to eye ball" and ask them to return the stolen funds in their Country, if he had stolen funds from their volts he would not have the courage to do that. None of his predecessors had the nerve to do that because they were all corrupt.
