On point. A good writer is needed. It would have been Alex.Bells but I doubt if the dude would like to help considering his philosophy on Igbo integrity.
We need another volunteer
Vintagepipes:
...I believe I have a read a few things from this individual

...He possess the passion but not the knowledge or intelligence for this task.

... A bit too emotional.

....He pandered to them, not experienced and I don't know if he is willing to learn.

..I believe Igboid is an ideal person. He writes well, and have all the facts and understand them deeply.

However, his anti-MNK stance might cause a clash with him and you know our brothers if maturity is not employed.
Lolllllll.

Ị can write anything writable. I'll just gather the facts presented here and compile all. Igboid can write it if he wishes. I don't think there'll be any Biafranist clash here lol. It's just a historical writeup.

Then will the volunteer be writing as a group or as an individual. If as a group what group. Igwebuike? Igbo youths intelligentsia? Igbo new generation?

Whatever will be written will have to be vetted here.

Then afterwards, very importantly, how will dissemination be done?

Dry up your tears. I guess when ibos came, they forgot their clothes and culture attire in amaigbo and were forced to make do of foreign attire.

We are still waiting when the royal palace in Bonny and Opobo will start wearing isiagu. Abi e never due to dey wear ibo isiagu and throw away Ijaw identity?
The Akwette King Jaja wears 24/7 is Igbo cloth. Same with the cap. He even walks around with an Ofo in his hand like a real Igbo Priest-King. Lol.

that is why I do not criticise IPOB too much, the reason being that IPOB is by far the most determined, focused and resourceful Igbo dominated association today bar none! I pray that if and when Nnamdi Kanu is released by FG ,Pa mbazuluike Amaechi will persuade him to finally enter Igbo politics...............if properly focused on igbo nationalism......IPOB is a whale of an adversary! those guys have their tentacles everwhere.....MNK will have to convince his men that igbo nationalism is the way to go!
The great MNK will not agree wink

Okay, excellent.

Then we will need a write up. A well articulated writeup centred around the discoveries on this thread.

After the writeup is ready there'll be need for dissemination.

What do you think?

Duarte Pacheco Pereira's Account of the Lower Guinea Coastlands in His "Esmeraldo de Situ Orbis,"

1508 actually
His accounts are okay. But questionable. Many latter voyagers and scholars suggested his reports brought about more questions that answers on later review. I think Pereira didnt investugate deeply.

The area in question Pereira described stops at part of Kalabari. That is your concern not ours.

You'd rather stay in the comfort zone of the 19th century.
Captain Pereira described the Izon as a thieving race whose territory occupies the area around the western Niger Delta down through to the Sombreibo river. What is our business with that?

Please, what is the title of this book.

It is amusing that all historical artefacts points at an obvious ijaw revisionism. I still ask, where were Ijaws when this story of Bonny and Opobo was been documented from way back 1800? Were they so invisible to be documented.

Someone is now so bold to claim Perekule ancestry and trying to supplant the indigenous language.

From this I gather Bonny kingdom was wide. Having Bonny Town as a kind of main town or capital. Which could mean there were sections closer to Kalabari who would claim Ijaw, and possibly even claim the town as back then. However, the town wasn't theirs as it was founded by the Ndoki.

All the communities, Kalabari Ibani and the Igbo founders can coexist together. But the problem started when the Ijaw became greedy and wanted ownership of the kingdom. Fabricating various falsehoods and using federal government backing to terrorise Bonny Igbos during and after the war.

I remember now, about 4 years ago when researching about Bonny in IPOB, I came across a news publication dated 2011 when Ojukwu died. It was from Bonny, under the auspices of Bonny Igbos Association or something like that, headed by a certain Comrade Ogbonna and he spoke with the confidence of one who knows who he is. I can't remember exactly if it was a resident Igbos association or indigenous Igbos stuff. In any case such association existed. Maybe it still does.

There was a week's mourning or so, declared for Ikemba. And the king of Bonny was notified officially of the mourning activities, while inviting other nationalities to join them in mourning Ikemba.

For the love of God whatever happened to that association!

Whenever I am chanced I will dig up that newspaper publication and provide it here.
Found it.

My memory serves me well. Mostly grin

@Ofoigbo in that literature you quoted Baike as telling us who Bonny people were, you were not magnanimous enough to tell us that he mentioned the ijo and thoroughly defined their territory.

Lots if fictions in ijaw Wikipedia accounts.
