Armed bandits have abducted a traditional ruler, the Oniru of Iku, in Ondo.

The bandits also abducted four subjects travelling with the Ikare Akoko ruler.

Mikaila Bello, the Oniku of Iku in Ikare Akoko, was kidnapped, on Thursday evening, while travelling back to the town from Akure.

A local hunter told Peoples Gazette that the attack on the Ondo ruler occurred in the early hours of Friday.

According to the hunter, the bandits ambushed the ruler and the other victims along Ago Panu on the Owo-Ikare road.

“The driver of the vehicle was stabbed by the gunmen, but we were able to rescue him alone and rushed him to the hospital,” said the hunter, who also serves as a vigilante in the area. “He is there receiving treatment now with wounds all over his body. Sadly, these people (bandits) are still lurking around our forest in Ondo.”

The kidnappers had yet to contact the victims’ families or demand a ransom.

Police spokeswoman Funmilayo Odunlami did not immediately respond to The Gazette’s request on the attack.

The attack and kidnap came barely weeks after an armed gang attacked a construction company in Owo, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s hometown.

Adams said under President Muhammadu Buhari, insecurity and economy have reached their worst ever state.

He said, “On the economic front, it is another sad story. A dollar is now more than N700. This is an administration that met dollar at less than N200 in 2015. Economically, if this is not scary enough, we wonder what is. We now have a situation in which family members are being forced to raise N100 million naira to pay as ransom. The money is delivered to these terrorists to buy more weapons and the government is merely watching.

“After every abduction, the President will summon Service Chiefs to a meeting, a statement will be issued and that is the end of it. What we will hear next is another abduction or series of kidnapping.

“The insecurity situation has reached its peak with the threat by these terrorists to kidnap the President, governors and lawmakers. Presidential advance team was attacked in Katsina and even soldiers guarding the president were attacked in Abuja. Some of them were killed. It looks as if this administration has decided to force Nigerians to seek self-help.”

“However, it must be said also that in case the governors need my help or any kind of assistance or that of Southwest Security Stakeholders’ Group in strengthening our region’s security, I am ready to offer the assistance.

“Nothing guarantees safety in any country or region other than the synergy and cooperation among all the stakeholders. I want to also urge anybody with useful information that has any security implications to tell the traditional rulers, leaders in their respective locality, or even me for us to intervene and report the same to the right quarters.”

An Instagram model has revealed that she discovered she had AIDS for almost a decade as she unknowingly carried on with life and only recently discovered she was a carrier for the deadly disease.

The woman, Gena Hew, made the shocking revelations on her Tik Tok account, where she shared that she was so sick and on the verge of dying when doctors finally realized what was wrong with her.

Tew has been linked with several celebrities in the past who has shared on her Instagram and Facebook account, including Dave East, Nick Cannon, Chris Brown, and Chief Keef, among others. It’s unclear if she dated those men, and she has declined to name anyone who might be at risk.

On her Tik Tok account, she said that she does not know who gave her the virus or how she got it, and only that doctors told her that the virus has been in her system for around 8-10 years.

“In that time frame, I was living New York City and was homeless, I did get raped a couple of times but it’s not something I like to talk about, I have had a couple free tattoos so it could have been a dirty needle, I don’t know. Do I know any one of those people? No. Did I say anything when those things happened? No. Because I was naive and I was stupid and I was young,” she said in a Tik Tok video

In her videos, she has not revealed any information about any of her intimate relationships over the years.

According to Tew, she did not know she had HIV or AIDS as she hadn’t done a test in 10 years. Tew has shared videos of her where she confirmed that she has lost the ability to walk and now uses a wheelchair.

She has had a massive weight loss which she says is due to the virus attacking her body, and she dropped down to 65 pounds at one point. In other videos, she revealed that she is also blind in one eye.

Tew, who is said to be in her mid-twenties, may have contracted the virus sometime around age 17 to 19.

“I got so weak in the first days of knowing I had AIDS… I could barely focus and strained to talk,” said captioned a video showing her earlier condition.

In the meantime, she has shared numerous updates, which include her hospital updates on her blood count and also showing updates that she is now able to hold herself up.

One video, in particular, showed her emaciated and wearing a diaper as hospital personnel helped her to stand up and grab a walker.

In the video, she shared she missed walking while urging others to cherish their ability to walk.
