helovesme:Nope! What I meant was that irrespective of where you studied, if your 2nd/ highest degree is in the same field, it'll save you time to evaluate the highest degree only but if they're different and you're applying under the NOC for the lower(st) one, then it makes sense to include the latter in the ECA report. Whichever the case, you'll still get the maximum points for the highest degree. It's the time factor and possible delays that you must consider. One thing I do know is that WES doesn't send verification requests to foreign institutions in the UK after receiving your transcripts from them. |
tribeD:My suggestion is option (1). I had a similar experience but my UK certificate is BSc in a different field from my Naija ND cert. I had them include the ND because I used it under the related NOC category in my application to CIC in Nov 2014. Yours appears to be in the same field. The MSc. will still give you the points you're entitled to. I also must warn you that asking them to reevaluate the Naija BSc cert will create delays as they say. I'm talking from experience. I nearly missed the deadline for submission late last year. There were several mails back and forth which created delays and tensions. Also, I've come to learn that Oyibo no dey think like Naija people because their systems usually function as designed. Also factor your Naija institution. Are they very responsive, etc? All of these do count. Also listen to what others have to say about this and make your informed choice. Regards. |
wordsmithng:Thanks and congrats on the successful outcome of your CIC interview. |
Hi Solomon, I posted this earlier this week. I'll appreciate if you have some guidance to offer pls.: Hi All, Quick question please: In the "Additional Family Information" forms, I inadvertently made some typo errors in the DOB of two of my wife's siblings and completely omitted the details of one of my siblings. From what I've observed, the types of updated or additional info requested by AVO varies from person to person. Having said this, would you advice I use the CSE form from AVO website to inform them about these omissions and request the necessary changes in advance? NOC - 2241 App. Received - Dec. 5, 2014 DD - Jan. 29, 2015 PER - Feb. 26, 2015 Will appreciate any useful feedback. |

Biadroit:Question: Did they state anywhere in any letter that you should resubmit the forms and docs along with the new payment? From what I can see, you've been given a UCI no. which in my opinion is a giant leap forward. If I'm not mistaken, it means CIC has given you the nod but is willing to wait for you to rectify the payment issue. I'll strongly suggest that you arrange for a new one (maybe Credit or Debit card). You can use Niara or Visa debit cards payment from any Naija bank. I used GTB and it was successful. I'll advise you not to delay. You can always sort out the Canadian money order issue later. All the best! |
solomonwis:Dear Solomon, Concerning my FSWC application I inadvertently omitted one of my siblings and swapped the year of birth of two of my wife's siblings in the "Additional Family Information" form. I knew after I've posted but decided to wait for it to be accepted before initiating the correction. Please how do I go about informing them about the mistake and effect the corrections? |
Dimdeux:I used both and the experiences are as follows: WES will send a verification of credential request back to the Nigerian institution. If your school is the unresponsive type, it will delay your report because without that WES will not conclude nor issue it. If your school is foreign, e.g. UK or US, then no worries, they'll accept their transcript submissions and deliver to you when they're through. ICAS on the other hand, will not send a verification of credential request back to the Nigerian institution but their timeline is very long. I applied sometime in September/ October 2014 but got my report just last week, Feb 20, 2015. WES' process is usually about 2 months or slightly more. This also depends on how quick you're to act, type of postage used (courier in this case). From the foregoing, if time is of the essence, I'll suggest you use WES, otherwise ICAS. |
Hi all, Finally received my positive determination of eligibility email from CIC NS, yesterday, Feb 26. Solomon thanks for the help. |
solomonwis:I've sent it now to the address you gave. Thanks man! |
Hello Guys, Been expecting my PER email (FSWC Nov 2014) after Debit Card dedcuction since Jan 29, 2015 but none so far. Just checked my forms (copies) and noticed that I omitted my email address in the "Contact Information" section of my generic IMM0008 form. I've sent an email (with fee payment proof, barcode pages and Intl. passport attached) explaning this omission to the case specific website 'https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=accra&_ga=1.73416146.1512738845.1403084063' using their enquiry form. Allso sent another email to 're-accra.immigration@international.gc.ca' about this. For those who have gotten theirs or with experience, do you know of anyone present or past that got theirs through regular mail? Just want to know if this action is sufficient? I'll appreciate any valuable info on this. |
HenryIX:Congrats and all the best! |
laraode:Mine is Dec 5 and card charged on Jan 28. Going by the trend with earlier applications in Nov 2014, you should expect yours on or before end of Feb 2015. Ceteris paribus. |
Ejinne, Pls be very careful when dealing with WES otherwise they could mess things up for you and make you spend money unecessarily. As advised by others, ensure the one from you school is sent to WES by them. In my case, someone in the school couriered it for me. However, the envelope and/ or officer sending it has to indicated my school's info. I'd advise they send it from the same postage zone (i.e. if school is located in PH, then send from PH. Not Minna. It'll look suspicious). Sending both qual. to WES could cause delays especially if they're from different NAija insts. Though your MBA gives you more ponits, I'll advise you use the one the inst. will respond quickly to WES' verification request. Use the MBA if they're from the same institution. If both are from foreign inst. then you don't need to worry as WES doesn't send to them to reverify again. But if Naija, that will definitely happen. These are suggestions based on my own personal experiences with WES. Weigh your options carefully. EJINNE: |
LOBOFC:From what I know you both don't need to write another test. Minimum CLB for principal app is 7 (i.e. minimum of IELTS score of 6 in all sections) while that of accompanying spouse is 4 (i.e. minimum of IELTS score of R-3.5, W-4.0, L-4.5 & S-4.0). Her score of 5.0 in Listening is equates to CLB of 5. See this link for more info. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp |
Thanks. |
