Sex is way better AFTER the honeymoon. Here’s how to keep your married sex life alive and kicking! Recently, a couple came in for premarital counseling worried and terrified. Apparently, several of their already-married friends told them that their sex life was about to die once they say “I do”, and that once the honeymoon ends, the arguments about when/how often begin. “Is it true?” they asked. They enjoy a wonderful sensual sex life together and wanted to know how to keep it alive. It is true that every couple’s sex life goes through stages and that the “new couple sex” stage ends. Sex in marriage changes, matures, gets better, and has downtime over the lifetime of your relationship. But it is also true that you can maintain a strong sexual, sensual, and erotic relationship that is vibrant, exciting, and fulfilling with these four simple steps: 1. Understand that married sex differs from “new couple” sex Great married sex is about understanding that the two of you will have a lifetime of sensual and erotic experiences together. Some will be great, most will be just okay, and some will be bad. The most difficult piece of work is making the OK sex … okay! This kind of sex happens when one person has a higher level of desire and the other person just goes along for the ride. Most couples I see have a deep belief that there is something wrong with their sex life if they have different desire levels. This is actually perfectly normal. Age, stress, hormones, injuries, and medications all have an impact on your sex drive and ability to orgasm. It’s important to learn to navigate this OK sex with creativity, understanding, and generosity. 2. Realize that sex isn’t only intercourse The goal for your sensual life together is to have a buffet of touch—intimate, erotic, intercourse, and so on. Just because you are touching in an erotic way does not mean you must have intercourse. It’s a very freeing feeling to disconnect the link between touch and sex. Sometimes intercourse is not an option (broken leg, sprained back, babies), but don’t let that stop you from having playful and intimate dates. Plan a date night with your spouse where you agree to a level of touch (intimate or erotic) and stay there without moving up the scale to sex. 3. Schedule sex This is greatly debated among couples. How can scheduled sex be sexy? When you schedule sex with your partner, you are stating that your sensual life is important to you and that you want to carve time out for your partner. You are not just waiting to see if there is enough energy left at the end of the day to give him or her. It also allows for anticipation to build as you get ready, pick special clothes, and imagine all the what’s and when’s. Try scheduling a few sex dates and see if it works for your relationship. 4. Be spontaneous and try something new. It always feels odd counseling couples to schedule spontaneous sex. It seems impossible, but the spontaneity I’m referring to is not about when you have sex; rather, what you do during sex. Passion and desire stem from the unknown. It is important that each month you add something new to your sex life. I’m not talking about a big “new,” but a small “new”—a slight change to the position or location, a different rhythm, turning the lights on or off, saying something kinky, or keeping some clothes on. These small changes invite the unknown back into your relationship and keep passion alive. There are many octogenarian couples who report having wonderful and satisfying sex lives. When we hear that, most of us throw a wish into the universe: “I hope that’s us someday!” It can, but you need to allow your definition of sex and sexy to change. And, as always, talk with your spouse about these four steps, about sex, and about your desires and needs. If this is difficult, consider meeting with a couples counselor to help facilitate these important conversations.

Senator Bukola Saraki has said that declaration of assets by politicians and public office holders won’t make them less corrupt or accountable to the people. Saraki who made this assertion during an interview on Saturday said, “I don’t think it is declaration of assets that would make you less corrupt or more accountable.” He however made this claim against the declaration by President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari that anyone who must work with him should declare their assets publicly in order to halt corruption and enhance transparency. “I pledge to publicly declare my assets and liabilities, encourage all my appointees to publicity declare their assets and liabilities as a pre-condition for appointment,” Buhari stated. Saraki observed that declaration of assets should not be taken as an issue. He said “I think it is your own individual commitment to your party and leadership provided.” “Leadership is very important because the leader leads by example. Honestly, things will change. Instead of sitting with the president to seek favour, you come home and sit down with your people so that you can have the better chance of winning election,” he added. Saraki representing Kwara Central senatorial district noted that the key areas which would be addressed by the incoming ACP-led government are the issues of corruption, security and jobs for youth in the country. He noted that “There would be zero tolerance for corruption and because of the backdrop of that, you begin to see revenue coming up and you will have more money for infrastructural development.” source: www.ynaija.com

A “mysterious” disease that kills patients within 24 hours, said to have been inflicted by an angry ‘god’, has claimed at least 18 lives in a south western Nigerian town, the government said Saturday. “Twenty-three people (were affected) and 18 deaths were recorded,” the Ondo state health commissioner, Dayo Adeyanju, told AFP. The government spokesman for the state, Kayode Akinmade, earlier gave a toll of 17 dead. “Seventeen people have died of the mysterious disease since it broke out early this week in Ode-Irele town,” Akinmade told AFP by telephone. The disease, whose symptoms include headache, weight loss, blurred vision and loss of consciousness, killed the victims within a day of falling ill, he said. Laboratory tests have so far ruled out Ebola or any other virus, Akinmade said. The World Health Organization meanwhile said it had information on 14 cases with at least 12 dead. “Common symptoms were sudden blurred vision, headache, loss of consciousness followed by death, occurring within 24 hours,” WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic told AFP by email, adding that an investigation was ongoing. Another WHO spokesman, Gregory Hartl, told AFP that according to a preliminary report, all those affected began showing symptoms between April 13 and 15. Akinmade said health officials and experts from the government and aid agencies, as well as WHO epidemiologists, had arrived in Ode-Irele to search for answers. The state’s health commissioner, Adeyanju, told AFP that he and his officials had gone on a “field visit with the WHO, UNICEF, NCDC (Nigerian Centre for Disease Control)”. “This was basically a case search to unravel the cause (of the disease),” he said in a text message. The WHO’s Jasarevic said blood and urine samples had been taken from two victims and cerebrospinal fluid from another. One of the victims of the god’s anger. Photo Eagleonline “All samples have been sent to Lagos University Teaching Hospital this morning, and results are still pending. Investigations are still ongoing,” he said. As the WHO experts try to offer scientific explanation for the deaths, the town’s High Chief Moses Enimade, has linked the deaths to a sacrilege done to Molokun, god of the land. Enimade, next in command to Oba Cornelius Olanrewaju-Lebi, debunked the rumour that the deaths were caused by strange disease or Ebola virus. No fewer than 20 youths reportedly died of severe headaches and blindness in the town recently. Enimade contended that some stubborn youths broke into the inner room of Molokun Shrine on April 15. “Molokun is a deity of the land, only the Chief Priest and High Chief Gboguron are qualified to enter the shrine.’’ The chief said the youths entered the shrine and made away with traditional items in a bid to acquire extra-ordinary powers and engage in money ritual. “They were not qualified to enter the room (shrine). They had to face death penalty’’; he emphasised. “Because these youths want to be rich at all costs, they entered the sacred place and made away with traditional items and 20 of them have died as a result of their desperate acts, “We have to appease the gods or else many will still die and we have to bury them according to tradition. Their corpses belong to the gods and will be exhumed if buried by their families.’’ source: www.pmnewsnigeria.com
