I will advice you to go for pgd reason mathematics isn't one of the recognised courses which are few by the way. Economics usually only admit students with Economics background like pure economics, economics and statistics, maths economic, economic education, agriculture economics (in some cases), adult education economics. This is just the info I have you can always get a better assurance from Economics department postgraduate office at FSS( faculty of social science)
