Today, I had to go to FUTA's farm. Don't ask me if I'm an agric student 😂; I'm not even close to it. I've been postponing it for a while, but as everything goes, there was a blackout in the school since yesterday night till this evening 🥲. Though it disrupted the little I thought I would do today, the farm had its way. My back, oh my! Maize and weed were competing 😂, but at last, thanks to my intervention, weed is the losing team for now 😁.

So, so, so, someone once asked me, a lady I think, "What is your greatest fear?" Initially, I would have answered that I don't have a great fear, but I thought about it. What I thought was my fear was not actually my fear, they were both narrowed down to just two. Even I was wowed. For the first time, I was able to understand what I truly feared the most; they were not what I thought I feared.

I'm not even telling you here to fight your fears; what I'm telling you is to know your fear. Be sincere and ask yourself the question. Trust me, what you think are your fears are not. Be sincere and ask the question:

"What are or is my greatest fear?"

You can't fight against what you don't know.

IS AGE REALLY JUST A NUMBER?

A question that floods my mind, a question that pops up in me whenever I view a movie that has been depleted. Especially when the younger one is a guy and the older one is a female.

I have come to the acceptance that movies can touch our belief system as long as we watch them; yes, they can. Continuous ideas showcased in movies can become as real as possible for as long as we feed into them.

I don't think I have ever thought of it before because it is a thing that rarely happens, but the way most movies are showcasing it, even with a happy ending, is becoming scary to me.

WHY?

It is a major acceptance that the female personality is drawn to attention. Believe it or not, it's true. Look at it this way: it's very easy for me as a person to sit down and assimilate what an older lady is saying to me and pay more attention than younger folks. For me, it's very easy. I can't explain why, but it is.

Also, guys love a lady who can take care of them. This is also correct if you believe it. But which lady in her 20s will have a caring attitude compared to someone in their 30s or older? Or should we talk about sexual attention? Hmmm.

This is what scares me. People are not meant to be involved in such relationships because of social barriers. What will people say? But now, movies and many industries are gradually removing these barriers. Is it really about love, no matter the age? Is it really about whatever makes you happy, no matter what?

We have guys that crush on their mom's friends. They love it, but many dare not make a move. But movies are now telling them to make the move because there may be a positive response.

Will older women be able to resist constant attention, especially women who may even be struggling with mental and emotional stress from their husbands?

Is it something we should not worry about, or is it something we should be worried about, even if not for this generation but for the later generation?

The point of view for many is that there are more people at the ground floor than at the top. So, if you've suffered with many people and you think you have people, be careful and know that the top is lonely, and when you get there, you will not see anyone, right?

If the saying "show me your friend, I will tell you who you are" is true, that means either you stepped on those you called friends to be at the top, or you got to the top with a means that can't be shared if asked.

No matter the stage you get to in life, there must be men or women who are able to contain your knowledge, and you can share things with them. At the top, you should not be lonely.

What if the idea of the song was that those who were your friends when you had nothing and were struggling together, now that you have been helped by God to be at the top, they feel challenged or jealous and are willing to leave you because of your achievement? Then the writer of the song was like, "omo, to be at the top is lonely" because people will feel bad for your achievement. Then he was like, "I don't even have their time; it's money that is on my mind, jare" 😏.

Now he shares his mind by singing, but aunty Favour, aunty Chinedu, and even bro Apolo are now shouting, "lonely at the top." If you make it, nah only you go dey. And now, you've thought that money can replace relationships with people. Okai o, it's well with you.

The recent case that happened at the Federal University of Technology, Akure today, losing a 500-level student. The Federal University of Technology, AKure, nestled in Ondo State, found itself shrouded in mourning on Friday as the news of a student's passing cast a shadow of sorrow over the institution.

Ayomide Akeredolu, a student within the university's walls, met a tragic end on Thursday evening. He collapsed within the confines of his hostel, his life slipping away shortly thereafter.
This heart-wrenching incident ignited an intense outpouring of grief and indignation among the student community. Accusations were directed at the institution, focusing on its perceived lack of concern for the well-being of its students and the allegedly dismal conditions of the school's health center.

Regrettably, the response from the institution, as conveyed by the Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Adegbenro Adebanjo, only intensified the pain. In an official statement issued on that sorrowful Friday, the university distanced itself from responsibility, asserting that the student had already passed away before arriving at the health center.

The statement revealed that the student's lifeless body was brought to the school's medical facility, a disclosure that carried a somber finality. The director's words, etched into the statement, recounted the tragic sequence of events: "The (deceased) student was rushed to the health center at about 8:50 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He was brought in dead. Efforts to resuscitate him through cardiopulmonary resuscitation and oxygen therapy proved abortive. He was subsequently taken to the UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Akure by the medical personnel on duty inside the university ambulance."

Personally, as a student of the university myself, I don’t believe it’s fully the university or clinic's fault as supposed by Other student. The student reactions to this as not been hard, Futa is known by all as a peaceful university, though there have been blockages of the university entrance.

Some students claim the parent of the deceased should sue the university and the deceased deserves justice. The rumor which I cannot affirm to be true was that the deceased was said to have fainted and was brought to the clinic but was rejected and transferred immediately to another better hospital. What were they supposed to do than that

However, most students have not come to an understanding of the difference between a clinic and a hospital.
An occurrence like this happened last year when a sick student was brought to school and was asked to bring a card of identification and the sick fellow later died due to he was not answered quickly. Yes, the university is to be blamed for stuff like this, but can they be blamed, let's dive into some reasons I think the university should improve on for their clinic and why I think the university should not be blamed for such occurrence.
