I will try to find out if there is a dealer around your area. But the office i operate is located in Abeokuta, Kuto to be precise. Gemini complete decoder and dish is 9,900. If you want to buy it without the dish, it is 6,900. Yes, as i said earlier the startimes Gemini can use either a dish or an external Yaggi antennae.

It would have been easier if you mentioned your location sir. I will like to paint a clearer picture for you. Startimes have DTT and DTH technologies. The DTT technology is the terrestrial technology which makes use of antennae. This means that there must be a functional transmitter to work fully. I cannot fix the price for you since you are not buying the complete package. Hence, the price will vary from one dealer to another. However, if you getting directly from the office, you buy within the range of 3,000 to 3,500. I am not familiar with your vicinity. Please help, while watching a program on startimes, i just saw a display on my screen" Attention smart card error! Please insert smart card correctly!". I've remove the smart card and inserted again (because it was correctly inserted before) but still no signal. Its still displaying Smartcard error!!. Help please.

I would like to know the kind of decoder you are having. It would have made it easier for me to know the direction of your smartcard. Nevertheless, kindly read the directive at the smartcard port to know where the metallic chip on your card is suppose to face. Kindly note that the card is inserted in a way that the mettalic chip should go in first.

Follow the following troubleshooting guide:
1. Remove the smartcard entirely from the decoder.
2. Blow strong dry air into dat smartcard port to clear the dust possibly blocking the smartcard reader. Make sure your spit dont enter ooo.
3. Use clean dry cloth to gently wipe the metallic chip on the smart card.
4. Check the direction your smartcard is suppose to facein the smartcard port on the decoder. Example In Startimes T2 decoders the chip faces down. In this instance, turn d decoder and hit the buttocks ..do that gently so you dont break something inside. This will push the smartcard reader inside a bit up so it can make proper contact with the mettalic chip in the smart card when inserted. Do the exact opposite if your smartcard faces up.
5. Just ontop of your smartcard directly opposite the mettalic chip, tear out small masking tape of about 2-3cm and place there to create a little bit of presure inside the decoder to ensure the mettalic chip presses well against the smart card reader. Use just a line of masking tape and not more that the measurment given.
6. Gentle insert smartcard and the reboot the decoder. The decoder should be fine.

However, if the problem persist after you have done this, then your decoder or smartcard could be faulty. Visit the nearest Startimes office for a possible swap. The swop comes with a charge if the decoder is more than a year.

Scroll down to system settings and press ok on your remote
Go to Channel search. Select automatic search.

After the search, yoir channels should be restored including Orisun. Thanks

Though controversial atimes, but i still maintain that this is the only opposition in this country. This PDP people because of probe, all of una don run hide inside cave. I still remembered how APC used mouth and media to finish your administration, every policy and decision was criticised and rubbished even if its right or wrong and names was hauled on the then President. I'm not getting signals any more, I have used the same set for more than 2 years now, it just decide "no signal" despite all my attempts at re-positioning the antenna

Sir, please what is your location.You said two years, did you recently relocated? Secondly, confirm if startimes is working there well. If yes, confirm the type of antennae your neighbours are using, some low land areas and locations far away from the transmitter need the external Yaggi antennae to work. So if you have d indoor antennae, consider getting an external antennae. If however, you have an external antennae, kindly identify where NTA is in your area. Startimes transmitters are always mounted in NTA stations. Position your antennae towards the direction of NTA for best reception. Then do the following:

a. Press menu on your remote
b. Scoll down to system setting
c. Go to Channel status and press ok
d. Displayed on the channel status is your signal strength and quality.
e. Send someone to gradually tilt the antennae outside till both strength and quality has attained atleast 80%. Then stop.

If you have done this and no changes, kindly get back to me for the next directive on what to do.

Hello nairalanders, i need your suggestions. I work with one of the leading paytelevison companies in Nigeria. I might not be able to mention name for image sake. I got the job few months after my graduation and i can say i put in more than a 100% in the job. I worked with a team of young graduates and our branch recorded the highest decoder sales ever made by the company.


Fast forward to 2016, i reminded my boss that my promotion is due and he pulled the trigger.I arrived work on this faithful day and saw a letter, with joy i opened the letter expecting the obvious. I was shocked to the bone marrow. I have been transferred to the company's worst branch. Infact, the company had considered closing the branch down last year. With anger and frustration, i stormed into my boss office to know why i got a transfer intead of a promotion letter, he told me the comapny has charged me with a responsibility of reviving the branch after a year. If i do this successfully, i will be made the branch manager. Upon enquiry, i realised that the branch manager was sacked due to fund and mismanagement issues. I have accepted the offer but on arrival i realised that the condition was far worse than i anticipated. Therefore i seek advise on the following pressing challenges because i believe when we share ideas, we help each other:

1. How do i improve sales: The sales is so bad that days will pass by and no single decoder sold infact, you can count the number of people who entered the office.

2. Coperation from staff: Unlike the young talented team i worked with, what i have here are unmotivated staffs who believe you cannot tell them anything because they are older than you both inn age and in the business.

Very correct bro. Not surprised they made more than 50% of the list. Yet the President has made more appointments from the north insisting they are most qualified, less corrupt and more trustworthy and I kept asking myself wtf?. Anyway, people here are complaining, it is important to point out here that

1.The bulk of Dasuki money was shared during Campaign to ensure that Jonathan wins his second tenure in office. This has been d recent trend in Nigeria politics so Jonathan should not take the blame alone. Our politicians dig hand into government coffers to sponsor their elections unlike other developed countries where money is raised by supporters to sponsor their candidates.

2. The previous election in Nigeria according to reports was the most expensive election held in the country, both parties APC and PDP spent millions of dollars in sponsorships. It could be recalled that APC employed the services of a USA firm that ran Barack Obama's campaign and contributed to his winning the election. PDP also did same, they also employed the services of a foreign firm. Both parties spent so much in campaign with APC having the lead.

3. While we know that this sponsorships came from government coffers, APC used there money judiciously while some high ranking PDP officials diverted the already diverted money into their private use. One of the many reasons Jonathan loosed his election. If he won that election, Nigerians will not know just like his predecessors how much was looted. This is where I still have some regards for him.

4. Finally, instead of persecuting just Jonathan, we should be clamouring for an Independent body to investigate all Jonathan predecessors and the APC too. Where do they get the money so big to spend more than a sitting president and yet nobody is talking about it. This guys do not love us, forget the pretense in d name of saints singing change.
