PoliticsChad: 123 Boko Haram Militants Killed In Cameroon by sltn(op): 6:27am On Feb 01, 2015
N'Djamena - Three soldiers and 123 Boko Haram militants
were killed when the Islamist group attacked a Chadian
army contingent in northern Cameroon, the Chadian
military said on Friday.

Twelve soldiers were wounded in the attacks staged by the Islamist group on Thursday and Friday near the border town of Fotokol, according to a military statement read out on national television.

Chad sent a convoy of troops and military vehicles into
neighbouring Cameroon on 17 January to deal with the
growing threat Boko Haram poses in the region.

"The enemy was repelled by our defensive forces," the
general staff's statement said, adding that the troops had
"routed" the Islamists in the second attack.
The soldiers were killed by improvised explosive devices,
the statement said.

A senior Cameroonian security source said the Chadian
troops were deployed to the town, which sits opposite a
Nigerian town under Boko Haram control and is also close
to the border with Chad, on Wednesday.

Boko Haram frequently stages attacks on Fotokol from
their base in the Nigerian town of Gamboru, which is just
500 metres away.

Chad has called on countries in the region to form a broad
coalition in the fight against the Islamist group. The country has already deployed its army along its borders as
well as sending the additional contingent to Cameroon.

Chad's President Idriss Deby has also expressed intentions of taking back the strategic Nigerian town of Baga from Boko Haram, situated on Lake Chad.

The African Union called Friday for a regional five-nation
force of 7 500 troops to defeat the "horrendous" rise of
Boko Haram.

The group's uprising has become a regional crisis, with the
four directly affected countries - Cameroon, Chad, Niger
and Nigeria - agreeing along with Benin to boost cooperation to contain the threat and to form a Multinational Joint Task Force.

More than 13 000 people have been killed and more than
one million made homeless by Boko Haram violence since
2009.

Nairaland General5 Important Reasons Why You Need Life Insurance by sltn(op): 3:18pm On Jan 30, 2015
As we grow older, get married, build families and start businesses, we come to realize more and more that life
insurance is a fundamental part of having a sound financial plan. Depending on your type of policy, life insurance is fairly cheap, which means there’s no excuse to why you can’t get coverage now! Plus over the years, you’ll find comfort in knowing money will be available to protect your loved ones in the event of your passing. Here are a few other reasons why having life insurance is so. important.

1. To Protect Your Family and Loved Ones
If your loved ones depend on your financial support for
their livelihood, then life insurance is a must, because it
replaces your income when you die. This is especially
important for parents of young children or couples who’s
partner will find it difficult if they no longer have the source
of income provide by their partner. You will also need to
provide enough money to cover the costs of hiring
someone to cover the day to day household tasks, like
cleaning, laundry, cooking, childcare and everything else a
growing family needs.

2. To Leave An Inheritance

Even if you don’t have any other assets to pass to your
heirs, you can create an inheritance by buying a life
insurance policy and naming them as beneficiaries. This is a
great way to set your kids up for a solid financial future and
provide for any monetary needs that will arise.

3. To Pay Off Debts and Other Expenses
In addition to providing income to cover everyday living
expenses, your family needs insurance to cover any
outstanding debts, like the mortgage, credit cards and car
loans. Other expenses include funeral and burial costs that
can easily run into the tens of thousands of dollars. You
don’t want your spouse, parents, children or other loved
ones to be left with any extra financial burden in addition to
the emotional burden they’re already suffering.

4. To Add More Financial Security
Like most parents you probably want to know your kids will
be well taken care of when you’re gone. You not only want
them to get a quality college education, but to provide for
other life ventures like getting married or starting a
business. For this reason, additional coverage is absolutely
essential while your kids are still at home.

5. To Bring Peace of Mind
No amount of money can ever replace a person. But more
than anything, life insurance can help provide protection for
the uncertainties in life. Without a doubt, having life
insurance coverage will bring you and your family peace of
mind. It’s one thing you can be sure of and no longer
question if they’ll be taken care of when you’re gone. None
of us know when we’ll pass away. It could be today,
tomorrow, or 50 years into the future, but it will happen
eventually. Life insurance protects your heirs from the
unknown and helps them through an otherwise difficult
time of loss.

In the far right you see a meteor streaking by and if you look closer on an angle above you will see the Pleiades star cluster which is the 7 sisters, in Taurus. Below the Pleiades is a small bright star which is Rigel in the star constellation Orion. To the far left is the star called Sirius the brightest star in the sky which is also called the Canis Major.

Christianity Etc8 Reasons Why Not To Go To Church!!!!! by sltn(op): 12:03pm On Dec 28, 2014
If you are going to church buildings for any single one the
reasons listed below, than STOP GOING and spare yourself
much time and disappointment....

1. Going cause you think God is a Genie that will give you all your earthly/worldly desires. You are much better off going outside your door, picking up a dead stone and asking the stone, and the results will be the same, plus you save on the gas ride going to church cause all you will find is a deaf ear from God on those petitions.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth
GOD via book of Colossians. Also I suggest one reads Proverbs chapter 2,

2. Going to find a spouse...I suggest if you are a male, you go to a tuperware party or one of those jewlery parties women have and act like you are enjoying yourself, cause your chances of a worldly woman embracing a fake and phony are much greater than a true seeker of Christ.

Likewise if you are a female, go to a house with a bunch of guys watching football and sit on a saturday from 12pm et to midnight and act like your enjoying yourself and you have a great chance of attracting a worldly man.

3. Going because you want to look good and Godly to your
community.....Go donate money to the town, and they will
make you a plaque with your name REAL BIG and hang on
their wall so all can praise you but the house of the Lord isn't for one to go be esteemed by man!

4. Going like my fellow greek orthodox church women
because they are interested in seeing what the other women are wearing so they can gossip...... Wait for the next wedding or Christening and you can gossip all night and weeks after about Louisa's short mini skirt she wore.

5. Going because you are alone and need to get out of house and meet people.......Call the nearest Temple Emmanuel and find out when their Bingo games are and go meet people there or call up your nearest ymca and see what events they have and go meet people there.

6. Going to please your parents or spouse.........Fix your
room, do the dishes, go vaccume the house, make his favorite meal, tons of things to do to please your rents and spouse without being a fake and phony and going to church for all the wrong reasons.

7. Going because you need money.....hope you have nothing on your calendar because the line is long...you need money? you have a better chance hitting the Lotto than getting any from your local church. But more importantly..NEVER go to man seeking help...you go to GOD and He will send you the help!!

8. Going because you want to give to God......Christ says you give to the poor, you give to God. The electric and gas
companies dont need money, neither do the pastors driving in their limos on way to taking their yachts out for a ride...Your neighbor who cant feed her kids does!!!

Besides the truth that Church buildings are going to
eventually and soon become the place where ONLY the tares and wolves are found in, while the wheat are found back in the homes like the first church was like, church isnt for any other reason than a passion and heart to seek and grow in the things of God...[/b] SPIRITUAL WISDOM and Understanding!

You dont need a building to seek them...all you need is a new heart with those 2 being the 2 sole desires found in it, and you seeking with hunger, thirst and passion in earnest PRAYER from GOD to give them to you. As for assembling with fellow seekers of Christ? You have a much better shot finding true seekers of Christ in prison cells than you do in those buildings because the majority of them you see in them are there for all the reasons I listed above!!!
