JUST IN: CBN Governor Sanusi Forced To Leave Over Leaked Letter
m.naij.com
SaharaReporters has learnt that Nigeria's Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, will be forced to leave his post in March, 2014, two months before the formal expiration of his tenure.

Two sources at the Presidency and a source at the Central Bank disclosed to SaharaReporters that Mr. Sanusi has been ordered to proceed on a post-retirement leave in March.

According to all the sources, the early exit for the CBN henchman is occasioned by Mr. Sanusi's recent leaked letter to President Goodluck Jonathan detailing the theft of close to $50 billion in oil proceeds by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Last week, Mr. Sanusi revised the figure of missing funds down to $12 billion, but the damage to the Jonathan Presidency is considered massive.

It was also gathered that Mr. Jonathan has concluded plans to speedily replace the CBN governor whom the president believes set out to embarrass his government.

"[President] Jonathan thinks that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has been making erratic pronouncements recently calculated to demean the office of the President," said a source in the Presidency.

Presidency officials accused the CBN governor of leaking a private letter written to President Jonathan in which Nigeria's chief banker complained about fraud perpetrated by officials of the NNPC and the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke. Ms. Alison-Madueke is extremely close to the president and is believed to be the arrowhead of Mr. Jonathan's corrupt schemes, especially in the oil sector.

Additionally, one of the sources at the Presidency told SaharaReporters that, although Mr. Sanusi's allegations were substantially accurate, the CBN governor was forced to back down from the more damaging aspects of his claims after the president's associates threatened to make an issue of his reckless spending and philandering.

"Once Sanusi found out that the Presidency was determined to deal with him, both through the media and by instigating the EFCC to look into his spending habits, he was willing to retreat and to accept an early departure," said our source.

Shortly after the CBN governor was effectively blackmailed and brought under control, he appeared before the Nigerian Senate and reversed his position, claiming that the NNPC was only unable to reconcile $12 billion of crude oil sale earnings.

It was shortly after Mr. Sanusi's Senate appearance that President Jonathan ordered that the CBN governor's retirement should be fast-tracked. Mr. Sanusi, who is believed to nurse an ambition to become the next Emir of Kano, had publicly stated that he does not intend to stay for another term.

LADIES ARE ALWAYS UNPREDICTABLE
~ A guy bought a girl a nice gift last time, she said she couldn't
find the words to thank him. So he bought her a dictionary this time.
She broke up with him.
~ They will argue with you for more than 20 minutes and
they will be like "I'm not even going to argue with you"...
Ahn ahn, what have you been doing since??
~ At 20 - 25yrs, they will be screening guys to date as if
it's MTN project fame, and by the time they are more than 28yrs, they will start searching for guys as if it's Gulder Ultimate Search.
~ Every girl always pray for HARD WORKING man as husband, but they don't respond to greetings
from Brick-layers, Barrow pushers, etc
~ Most of this ladies will be killing themselves trying to wear expensive weeve-ons, when they all know that most of us guys don't even know the difference
between a Brazilian hair and Darling Yaki

PoliticsRe: FAYEMI WINS 2billion In Case Against Compass Newspaper by sluk(m): 1:17pm On Dec 17, 2013
folahann: An Ado-Ekiti High Court has ordered Western
Publishing Company Limited, publishers of
Compass Newspapers to pay N2 billion as
damages in a libel suit instituted by Ekiti State
Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi over publication by
the newspaper on Saturday, August 25, 2012
alleging that the governor was deducting N1
billion illegally from the state's local government
account.
The court also ordered the court to publish a
retraction and apologise to the governor in three
national dailies and on the Internet.
The writer of the story, Mr. Remi Koleoso, was
also joined in the suit. The governor had
through his counsel, R.O. Balogun and Co, sued
Compass newspaper for libel and sought N10
billion as damages for the publication.
Delivering the judgment yesterday, Justice
Cornelius Akintayo averred that the conduct of
the newspaper was below diligence, adding that
the governor had proved the six ingredients of
libel among which are the personality involved,
nature, mode of the publication and failure of
the defendant to show remorse.
Justice Akintayo held that the cost awarded must
be adequate to repair the pecuniary damage. He
also awarded another N50,000 as cost of the
suit and 10 percent interest rate on the imposed
fine starting from the day of judgment till the
fine is paid. Justice Akintayo said the prosecution
called three witnesses and tendered 11 exhibits
which were all admitted and marked accordingly.
The trial Judge who said the defendants called
only one witness added that the defendant also
failed to counter the claims of Governor Fayemi.
Justice Akintayo affirmed that a defendant who
did not object to documentary or witness
evidence is deemed to accept guilt.

CultureRe: An Osun Lady Raised And Impregnated By Ghosts by sluk(m): 5:26pm On Dec 16, 2013
Idi Amin: I know of a guy who is currently married to a ghost. When they were dating, he didn't know until the lady led him to her home in the village. After that, the lady still visited the guy and reassured him. Today as I'm typing this, they are living together in Lagos with kids but not officially married because his inlaws refused to accept brideprice of their "dead daughter". This is absolutely true life story because the guy is my pally and the lady in question serves me food whenever I visit them. Initially, I thought she didn't know that I knew her story until she asked me one day, ......"My name" why are you not avoiding me upon knowing my story? I simply told her that I believe shit happens because uptill now, I still hang out with my dead childhood friend. As I was growing into an adult, he was growing too. I currently live in LA and he lives in Las Vegas just few hours drive away from me. He is married with kids as he promised his mother in the dream 'according to her' that he will surely bring her kids. I also have interaction with my late dad who still send my mum messages about his investments through me. I tell you guys something, my childhood friend told me that half of residents in Lagos are his likes from beyond and I know many are here on nairaland. Let me quickly add this, I am a christian, so let no foool call me names here undecided
Are u sure u are human too?
