The president disclosed this on Monday when he commissioned The Greater Abuja Water Supply Network, Loops 1, 2, 5 & 6 of the Federal Capital City, FCC.

“While I sympathise with the Benue people, I have spoken to the governor, the leadership and people of Benue to accept our condolences and try hard, very consciously, to maintain peace and harmony among themselves.

“I have always said we are one single, huge family living in the same house, say in different rooms but living together in harmony which should be the result of our diversity for prosperity. We should be able to manage our anger and frustrations.

“I will adjust my programme and go see Benue people on Wednesday,” the president said.

At least four residents of Ikpakpara village in Agu-Amed, Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzu local government area of Enugu State, have been killed by suspected herdsmen.

Several others are still missing as search parties have been launched to recover the missing residents, dead or alive.

Ogbuzuru Ebe, a community leader who confirmed the recent attack to SaharaReporters on Monday by phone, revealed that the attack occurred on Sunday evening.

Although the details of the attack were still unfolding, Ebe said, "We just recovered four bodies of people killed on their farms. We are looking for seven people who are still missing after the attack."

The attack is the latest in a series of violent assaults by suspected herdsmen in Eha-Amufu, which have resulted in the deaths of scores of farmers and widespread sexual violence against women.

Community leaders have expressed frustration and desperation, lamenting the government's inability to prevent these attacks or engage the assailants.

Residents have accused the local government chairman of not doing enough to support security efforts in the area. The community is calling on the government to take concrete actions to prevent further attacks and protect the lives of the people.

This incident has reignited concerns about the security situation in Enugu State and the need for urgent action to address the farmer-herder crisis.

Meanwhile, the attack comes barely 24 hours after the state police commissioner, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, visited Eha-Amufu in what he described as routine surveillance and confidence-building patrols to rural communities.

The commissioner was accompanied on the patrol by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, DCP Gregory Itobore; Udenu Area Commander, ACP Bernard Amaga Ukwa; heads of tactical and operational units; and other senior officers of the Command.

Efforts by SaharaReporters to reach the Command's spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, were unsuccessful, as he neither answered calls nor responded to a text message seeking comment.

Nwobasi, who represents Ezza-North/Ishielu Federal Constituency, announced his defection at the Ezza-North council headquarters on Sunday.

He said the decision to move to the APC with his supporters was to strengthen support for President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Francis Nwifuru.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls Nwobasi was elected to the House in 2023 under the APGA platform.

Nwobasi, a former Leader of the Ebonyi House of Assembly, defected alongside Mr Kevin Okeh of the State House of Assembly.

“I am happy to join the APC. My decision stems from a desire to support Governor Francis Nwifuru and his administration fully.

“I believe Governor Nwifuru is truly the people’s governor. His empowerment initiatives and infrastructural projects have been outstanding.

“We want to join forces with the President and especially Governor Nwifuru to build a better state and Nigeria,” he said.

Chief Moses Ogodo-Ali, Ezza-North Local Government Chairman, said the defection showed his people had resolved to support Nwifuru’s 2027 re-election bid.

“Our people have agreed that no Ezza man or woman will contest the 2027 governorship. Governor Nwifuru is our sole candidate.

“Those joining us today do so in line with our collective resolve. We expect more defections in the coming months.

“I assure you, Mr Chairman, that the mistakes of 2023 will not be repeated in Ezza land.

“In 2027, we shall deliver votes that will surpass any in the political history of Ezza land,” he promised.

Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, APC Chairman in Ebonyi, said the party was large enough to accommodate all who support Nwifuru’s vision.

He urged the new members to conduct themselves properly and respect existing party members.

He said, “Avoid creating factions. The party will not tolerate divisive behaviour in any form.

“You must work with other leaders and members in your areas to strengthen the APC ahead of 2027.”

We saw him as governor of Anambra state for 8 years with little or nothing to show for it. In fact, 95% of Ibo people who supported him for tribal reasons in 2023 cursed and abused him when he was governor.

So, what exactly did the Living in bondage man said that is new or untrue?

Again, I find it hilarious but irritating that Peter Obi’s camp still found a way to blame Tinubu for the pubic outbursts of Kenneth Okonkwo. Can’t these set of cretinous obidients ever take responsibility for anything? Who the heck would waste time to recruit an Okonkwo into a destroy Peter Obi at all cost operation when Peter Obi on the ballot means easy victory for Tinubu?
