War of words: Rotimi Amaechi says; "The quarrel between me and the wife of the President is because she said I should bring your money, Rivers people money and share with her. What have we done to President Jonathan that he has refused to bring any project to Rivers State. We had to fight them before they could do the East-West road. I had to abuse the federal government and they abused me back before they could do the work you now see on that road." Presidency replies: Governor Rotimi Amaechi took his obnoxious willingness to denigrate the highest office in the land in a reckless bid to advance his selfish political interests to a new level of irresponsible and rascally behavior ... with his totally false and baseless vituperations against President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Federal Government. It appears from the Governor's completely unfounded and off-the-mark allegations that he had totally lost all sense of propriety, decorum and responsible political behaviour and resorted to .... libel, blackmail and incitement of public disorder. Is this politics or what? Culled from splash fm facebook fans page.. http://www.splashfm105 5.com

A man who jumped the White House fence was attacked by dogs before being arrested, in the latest security breach at the president's official residence. Dominic Adesanya, 23, was stopped on a lawn near the building. He was unarmed. Video footage of the incident showed him kicking and punching Secret Service dogs who had been set on him. It comes a month after a man armed with a knife scaled the fence and made it inside the White House. That, and other questions about security at the White House, lead to the resignation of the head of the Secret Service, Julia Pierson. A spokesman for the agency said charges were pending against Mr Adesanya. Two dogs have been taken to the vet for treatment for their injuries, the spokesman added. Meanwhile, it has emerged that in 2011, the Secret Service diverted agents from their duties at the White House to the home of an agency employee caught in a personal dispute with a neighbour. The inspector general of the Homeland Security Department, John Roth, called the conduct a "serious lapse of judgement." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-29738984

I was hanging out alone in a bus smoking some hard weed at around 11pm. I decided to leave for my house but no vehicle on that route at that time of the night, so I decided to hitch a ride home if possible. It started raining heavily and suddenly a range rover jeep stopped by my side. I quickly jumped into the passengers side and closed the door then the car started moving, and just when I was about to say thank you to the driver, I discovered there was no one in the car. I started to freak out but was too scared to jump out of a moving vehicle. When the car got to a bend, a hand came in through the driver's window and turned the steering wheel. This happened twice and on the third time I totally freaked out, jumped out of the car screaming and landed in a ditch full of rain water. I got up and ran for my dear life and entered the nearest bar I found. After downing 4 bottles of Guinness Stout and narrating my ghost story to anyone who cared to listen, three guys just walked into the same bar all drenched in rain water. One of them pointed at me and said, "John, isn't that the mad man who entered the car while we were pushing?...Weed is very bad o! |

I want to appeal to our Baba, President Olusegun Obasonjo, to forgive us. We are your children and we have been making mistakes ..... Please Baba, we apologise, come and lead us, even the president is waiting for you to come and lead us; you are our leader - Adamu Mu’azu (PDP national chairman) May all the pleadings of PDP men with OBJ fall on 'deaf' ears. May their supplication be irritant to him. May their begging be abominable to him. May his 'legendary' unforgiving spirit be resuscitated... . May Baba's anger and bitterness against his 'political son' be rekindled. May the bad blood never subside....unti l they set their own 'house of horror' called PDP on 'fire'. - Dapo Rotifa (social media commentator)...

For once ayam proud to be a Nigerian Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, a consultant physician, First Consultants Medical Centre, a Lagos- based hospital, died of Ebola disease Tuesday, August 19. Despite denials, she had summoned courage to carry out blood analysis that revealed the virus from Patrick Sawyer who imported the Ebola virus into Nigeria from Liberia. The story of Dr. Stella Adadevoh should be a classic case study in Medical schools around the world, both Nollyhood and Hollyhood have one of the most inspiring movie of all time at their door steps. Oh death! who would have expected you on this path. We as Nigerians should dedicate today as a memorial, words can not explain the sacrifice this God fearing and exceptional woman have made. I doubt if she's a Nigerian nevertheless she is. She will stand exceptional in the canals of history as an extra ordinary Nigerian even if the Government will not honour her. ''Our Precious father in heaven, once again we thank you. We choose to give you all the glory for the success we have achieved so far on EBOLA. Only you can make a country that has been ridiculed in the global media to become a success story. Mighty God, without experimental drugs, you have silenced Ebola in NIGERIA. Blessed be your name. Father, this is a sign that indeed, this nation will lead the way in the end time revival. And just as they have come to see how Ebola was stemmed, they will also come to learn how terrorism died in NIGERIA. We know ourselves. We know we are a very disorganized country, but how you still chose to love and use us is humbling. Thank you for your grace Lord. Father, we pray that just as you have helped and are helping us, you will help Liberia, sierra-leone and Guinea in Jesus name. Thank you for those you have used. Blessed them Lord. And grant them the grace and humility to give you back the glory, always, in Jesus' name. Amen.''

While some men struggle to grow beards, a 65-year-old woman from Kazakhstan, Mukhtabor Toraeva, is presently carrying an eight- inch-long beard. The unusual facial hair, according to odditycentral.c om, has made the Toraeva a celebrity in her hometown. She has told everyone who cares to listen that the strange looking beard is the secret to her successful 42-year marriage. “My husband married me when my beard had already started to grow,” she explained with pride. “He loves it and we now have a son, a daughter, and six grandchildren. Although beards run on my side of the family, my daughter does not have one and although both my mother and grandmother have them, they are not as fine as mine. Theirs reached only six inches.” Mukhtabor said that she started growing beards when she was 25 and that people have always admired her for it. Her friends and relatives appreciate her, as do the strangers she meets when she travels to the neighboring Uzbekistan. She added that people often want to take pictures with her to show to their wives or mothers. “I would say my beard at least helps me to cross the border easily and without complications,” she added, cheerfully. Kazakh Women’s Rights campaigner Aisara Baiseitova said: “It’s really impressive to see such a genuinely lovely person so happy with the way she looks. There is so much pressure on women today to look glamorous and sexy, and to shave every part of their bodies. Seeing and listening to this woman should be inspirational to all.” http://www.odditycentral.com
