Yes, they do. I know all the stocks they invest in, and they only invest in Seplat, as oil and gas is known for high volatility. That is why if Aradel or Presco goes down in CardinalStone, we usually lose tons of money. Porting is 5M as minimum.

Is there a way an external person can access all equity fund manager basket stocks?

For the sake and the purpose for which this thread was created in the first place please, could you two put your vast experiences in both Equity fund and fixed income come up with a little guide on how much is appropriate or at least, an estimated amount to invest to put into each respectively with their fund managers investment that will add values to every investors.

For instance, if based on your experience or calculation Cardinal fixed income or Equity fund will, realistically only cost like N500,000 to invest into and make something meaningful and investing less will only mean wasting time and resources?

The idea is to give everyone, both the experienced and newbies(newcomers) to at least have a solid idea of what it means to invest a certain amount to make meaning of their investment or money instead of wasting their time investing in what has little to no value to their long-term goals say ' 45k of 30k, etc. Since it's now clear that these fund managers are mostly elites' favourite and selective- for the few of us with less to make something out of their elite tags.

I’m starting to realize how elitist fundmanagers in Nigeria are. It seems their ethos is to mantain status quo with the poor and middle class and make the rich richer.

The hate to grow people into wealth if you’re not already wealthy. How else would you explain reserving some select stocks for certain folks?

It is what it is. My plan now is to raise more capital before I dive into certain investment so that I won't be wasting my time.

The difference really is in being active in trading. For equity it's mostly weekly all our transactions happen except there is a rare case, they jump on the stock for the week.

One can bet the CSOF is more like daily trading, hence the big hedge

Well, I will only agree with you on that if.....they make available the number of stocks within the premium package just like they did with the lower package. The question is, why is it not in the open though? Or maybe, when you finally have 100ion and join the club you'll be given a link or access to it and why is that the case? It is a premium/ELITE version and it's not meant for the Mekunnu (small investors like us)

Simple. The basket of stocks you have within the lower/Equity isn't the same as the ones within the premium. This also goes to show that, it's intentional cos they could readjust or input those premium stocks into the lower equity fund for us to enjoy too even with little interest.

This unfairness isn't Farfetch and it isn't a roevted science.

All they needed to do is to adjust the lower equity basket if stocks from the premium even and not leave us with the options of the ones within the present selections making us struggle between green and red daily.

I don't really know what stocks are being used for the premium. One thing that baffles me is that the stocks in the premium go fast rapidly. If we are at 0.97, the premium will be at 3.29. It hardly goes down. There is something fishy about the premium. Halo has been doing well for the past 2years. My 10M must make a profit; I will still stick to CD, but Halo will be taking a huge amount of my funds and top-up.

Well, the same reason why they wouldn't review the selections of stocks within the premium is the same reason it's called ' premium ' and while it makes more money.

Lmaoo. It's an elite thing. Take for instance if the selections of stocks within the low are the same as the premium would they call it premium in the first place, would they have any reason to hide their stocks within the premium?

What will it cost them to realign their lower equity option stocks from the premium after all, they wouldn't have to fix it to 20% and will make money even if it's a little.

I understand but moving money here and there (equity fund) in a short period is not advisable except you'd be staying with the new asset manager for a while no matter their result.

Also, I wonder why Cardinal can't invest our money using the premium strategy since the two are still invested in stocks.

What this actually means is that, their selections of stocks within the premium were more carefully selected hence the high return. It's an elite thing or how else can one define the situation whereby , the lower option stocks aren't as productive as the premium.

The guys at Afrinvest equity fund must be doing something right as they've only had 1 negative since the year began which is almost insignificant if you look at the percentage change in comparison with the greens.
