In UK and probably wider Europe after the marriage dissolves or ends in divorce then generally the financially stronger person is asked to support the financially weaker person. It’s not all about the women taking a mans money, it’s often the other way around.... it’s a system that promotes gender equality.

It really has nothing to do with any perceived sense of entitlement, it’s a genuine observation about caucasians fragile and soft skin. We bruise and mark more easily than our African sisters, almost like the skin covering us is thinner or less dense than your own. I don’t think those guys who comment about it have low self esteem- it’s just their experience and since I’ve spent much time around black and white people, I’ve noticed these small things myself. Perhaps if you ever encounter a white guy in the bedroom, you too will see there are just differences in the way things are, I’m not saying it’s worse or better- it’s just different, and I’m sure it’s not only race which makes it that way, culture and society, environment and experiences all play a part in creating such a different vibe....

If you’re looking to save money, a studio flat would be manageable for the 2 of you, it will be small since the living room and bedroom is actually a combined room, but it will be a lot less than a 1 bed flat. If you value having space (or even a separate room for the bedroom) then take the apartment as I’m sure after a year or so you will outgrow the studio.
Cheap new furniture can be found in somewhere like IKEA or Jysk stores, or there are several charity shops such as British Heart Foundation or Bettel Furniture which sell good second hand goods at a fraction of the price
