Sports / Amortization In Football And How It Affects FFP by soccerfort: 10:41am On Jun 11, 2018
When we banter in football, we try to make rival fans and clubs look like donkeys. I have engaged in a few of these banters myself and know we stoop low to make our rival angry. In the course of various banters, I have come to realize that a few people understand how football and accounting works.
This is why so many have lambasted PSG and Manchester City for spending loads of cash trying to purchase players. The likes of Barcelona, Bayern, Manchester United and Real Madrid are lauded for grafting their way to success. The general logic is that PSG and Manchester City are cheats and are financially doping their way to the top echelons of football. Chelsea fans are also not spared this drivel. Nothing is farther from the truth than this flawed logic.

Sports / 6 Players Arsenal Should Sign Before The World Cup Starts by soccerfort: 11:49pm On Jun 10, 2018
Despite the World Cup being around the corner, this has not stopped several clubs from going about their businesses of trying to sign a new player or selling one. Arsenal under new head coach, Unai Emery, isn’t any different.
While the transfer of Stephan Lichsteiner has been confirmed from Juventus on a free, others are currently being worked upon with the likes of Sven Mislintat, Raul Sanhelli, Luis Fahmy and Ivan Gazidis in action.
The major trick for Emery is to get his signings right particularly with the issue of low available funds been touted by the media.
With our current squad, youth players with prospects trying to break through and available funds, here are 6 players i thin Emery needs to reinforce his nice side while solving an age-long problem at Arsenal and if he is doing this on a limited budget, these 6 players can be signed at a relatively cheap price and still deliver.

Sports / Between Fred And Jorginho, Who Will Be The Signing Of The Summer? by soccerfort: 5:37pm On Jun 06, 2018
With Manchester United poised to announce the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred, there have been various reports stating that United has been gazumping Manchester City in the transfer market. With January’s signing of Alexis Sanchez, and now Fred’s signing it would seem United are beating Manchester City to the signing of players targeted by Manchester City.

This is not true though as reports so far have stated that Manchester City pulled out of these deals, paving the way for United to sign both men.
Manchester City are believed to be closing in on a deal for Jorginho and we are looking to see if they made the right choice by foregoing the Brazilian for the Italian.............

Sports / I Didn’t See Anything Says Kevin De Bruyne As He Backs Guardiola by soccerfort: 12:58am On Jun 06, 2018
Belgium international and Manchester City Superstar Kevin de Bruyne has come out in support of Club Manager Pep Guardiola who was accused by former team member Yaya Toure of having a bias towards African Players.
Speaking during an interview, Kevin was quoted as saying
‘So, I don’t know what Yaya said or if it’s wrongly written or exaggerated. When you don’t play there’s always something you try to find.
‘We had the best season ever, so in the end the coach took the right decision to play with the team who played a lot. So, this year the trainer probably thought he wasn’t doing enough, wasn’t fit enough. I’ve never saw something racist in the club, ever.’
Pep Guardiola has also been backed by Jerome Boateng and Joshua Kimmich who stated that even with dark skinned players in the squad during Guardiola’s time at Bayern, there was no problem between Pep and players such as Boateng himself, David Alaba and Douglas Costa.
This is same at Manchester City with Benjamin Mendy, Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Leroy Sane. It could be argued by some that these aforementioned players are not playing for African countries, but that certainly doesn’t make them less an African.

Sports / Clubs In The Champions League To Earn More Money As Revenue Increase by soccerfort: 11:54pm On Jun 05, 2018
Clubs participating in the Champions League and also Europa League will see their earnings from these two competitions increase. This comes on the heels of reported increased revenue for UEFA, the organizing body of the competitions.
Estimates suggests that Total income from the Champions League, Europa League and Super Cup will hit £2.85billion in 2018/19, which is up by nearly £800million on the just concluded season’s figure.
For clubs who are in the champions league, this means qualifying from the group stage would see them pocket close to £13 million, with extra earnings for a win at around £2.3 million and £800,000 for a draw. The eventual winner would earn close to £45 million as prize money.
Amazingly, the Europa league won’t see that much of an increase in its revenue as with the TV money and other sources of revenue has only seen an increase of 25 % to the prize money.

Sports / Will Chelsea Be Able To Weather The Present Storm? by soccerfort: 9:24am On Jun 01, 2018
A question no doubt that is on the minds of Chelsea fans would be if the club would be able to weather its present storm? With a dismal defense of the title they won in the 2016/2017 campaign, one is tempted to question how Chelsea have found them in their current situation.

Antonio Conte
The former Juventus and Italy manager has been at loggerheads with the management of the cub this past season. With complaints about the club not supporting him well enough in transfer market, Conte cut across as confused sometimes this season. With Chelsea finishing the league at 5th position, many expected him to have been sacked. Winning the FA cup however has seen an impasse even though Morizio Sarri is being linked with a move to the club.

Roman Abramovich
The Russian billionaire has owned Chelsea since he purchased the club in 2003. He has bankrolled the club ever since and under his ownership,......

Sports / Morizio Sarri Looks Set To Be Appointed As Chelsea New Manager by soccerfort: 3:16pm On May 24, 2018
Morizio Sarri looks set to be appointed as Chelsea New Manager after his departure was confirmed by Napoli Chief Aurelio De Laurentiis. Carlo Ancelotti has been appointed as his replacement, meaning the Italian is now free to hold talks with clubs especially Chelsea who are rumored to be interested in appointing him as manager.
The London club has seen rift between Anotonio Conte and its management and will prefer to have a manager in charge who will not give them as much grief as Conte presently is doing.
Morizio Sarri’s entertaining brand of football has received praise from all quarters including Pep Guardiola, and this appears to be a major factor that would see Chelsea appoint him to replace Conte.
This season, Sarri led Napoli to a second-placed finish, with a 91-point haul, which was just not enough to beat Juventus to the Scudetto. Napoli’s points tally shows marked improvement under Sarri’s management. With practically no money to spend, he challegend the norm and was almost successful in his bid to win the league with Napoli after a drought of 28 years, but Juventus eventually pipped Napoli to the title.

Sports / Man City: A Club In Crisis? by soccerfort: 7:27pm On Mar 22, 2016
Following Saturday’s derby, a lot has been said, ostensibly pointing to a club in crisis. Defeat at the hands of their fierce neighbours means Manchester City are just a point above both West Ham and Manchester United who are keen on a place in next year’s Champions League competition.
The nature of defeat of course had to be examined critically before judgement can be passed regarding Man City’s ability to either retain Champions League status next season or...........
