GamalNasser:Does Sweden make the same mouth like US? Do you know the value of Dollars US is making from immigrants and travellers annually? If this is happening to Africa, big mouth Trump would have started calling us useless name. |
BlackSpanner:Do you now want to start comparing Nigeria with US? We aren't at the same level. They are super power, we are developing. We are treating successfully convid-19 here and they are dying like chicken |
GamalNasser:. You mean almighty America could be so vulnerable? So they can't manage the lockdown? Things not as terrible as this even in China. What about convid-19 deaths? About 100,000 is projected to die in US Note that Nigeria only recorded 2 death so far |
US jobless claims hit another record.. Death from convid-19 now above 5,000. The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefit has surged to 6.65m, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to upend the country's economy. The actual figure is believed to be even higher as many people have reported jammed phone lines and difficulties with filing their claims online. It's also worth noting that some kinds of workers, such as people working part-time, do not qualify for unemployment benefit. The latest figure eclipses the previous week's record of nearly 3.3m people, according to Department of Labor data. The rush, which is unprecedented in modern US history, has overwhelmed many state offices handling the claims. Car firms have halted production and air travel has fallen dramatically. According to economists, a fifth of the US workforce is now on some form of lockdown. www.bbc.com/news/live/world-52130552 Lalasticlala food don come |
What s world of hypocrites Most of the people bashing and criticising Desmond will be ashamed if we ask them what the governor of their state have done. Like the one distributing kerosene The same people who are hailing audio governor in oyo state for declaring curfew in the state as if convid-19 only infect people at night, are here calling for the head of a man helping his constituency to imbibe hand washing culture. The same Ipob applauding Dino for wasting his constituency allowance on luxuries and did nothing |
Jobless criminals who turned themselves to opposition because free money is not flowing into their pockets again. They are all over oyo state sharing the state revenue and praising the audio governor who have done virtually nothing than bribing the media. Have you heard afenifere criticising PDP governor anywhere in Nigeria? Nope. Just give them food to eat then you are good to do nothing for the masses,, yet they will praise you. |
Sowore is funny. He refused to say nothing about America where he lives and make his living but focus on Nigeria for political gain from the pain people are going through. America now carry more viral load than even China America doesn't have enough testing kit and ventilator Trump refused to take action always downplaying the severity of the virus Deaths including that of infants is occurring daily in all the 50 States of America. Whichever way we look at it, Nigeria had managed this well with no death of locals. Death recorded was of a returned. Even the Italian man was treated and discharged. Sowore if you continue this way, you remain a tool used by the enemies of Nigerian masses to deceive and at the you will pay dearly for it. |

Use warm water with SALT or VINEGAR to rinse or gaggle your mouth 2) After touching money, door knobs, or even shaking hands with others and before you eat your food. Wash your hands or at least apply sanitizer. Don't worry if package sanitizer à store is expensive, just use SALT and water to clean your hands. As much as possible avoid touching your face especially nostrils and mouth. 3). Repeat number 1 again before you sleep or anytime you return home. 7. Can coronavirus be transmitted by door handles and how long does it survive? - Jean Jimenez, Panama If someone infected with the virus coughs on to their hand and then touches something, that surface may become contaminated. Door handles are a good example of a surface that might pose a risk. Experts think that coronavirus can survive on surfaces, possibly for days. So it is best to wash your hands regularly to help reduce the risk of infection and spread of the virus. 8. Is it safe to swim in a public pool? - Annette, Chester The water in most swimming pools contains chlorine, a chemical which can kill viruses. So it should be safe to use a swimming pool as long as it is properly chlorinated. However, you could still catch the virus from an infected person in a changing-room or building if they contaminate surfaces, such as door handles. And someone with the virus could also spread it to others through coughs and sneezes if they come into close contact. There are a number of ways to help you avoid catching or spreading the virus. 9. Should I start wearing a mask to limit my chance of spreading or contracting the virus? - Ann Hardman, Radcliffe, Manchester Although doctors and surgeons often wear face masks, there is little evidence that wearing face masks by the public makes a difference. Public Health England has said it does not "recommend the use of face masks as a means of protection from coronavirus". It says there is very little evidence of widespread benefit from their use outside of clinical settings, Experts say good hygiene - such as regularly washing your hands and certainly before touching your face - is vastly more effective. What do I need to know about the coronavirus? 10. What is the risk to children? - Louise, London In general, children appear to be relatively unaffected by coronavirus, according to data from China. This may be because they are able to shake off the infection or have either no symptoms, or only very mild ones similar to a cold. However, children with underlying lung problems, such as asthma, may have to be more careful, as the virus could trigger an attack. For most children, though, it will be a respiratory infection like any other and no cause for alarm. The UK government would have the power to close schools to prevent the spread of the virus, if it wanted. Schools in 14 countries have already been shut, while another 13 have closed some schools. 11. Can you catch the virus from food prepared by an infected individual? - Sean McIntyre, Brisbane, Australia Someone infected with coronavirus could potentially pass it on to someone else if the food they prepare has not been handled hygienically. Coronavirus can be spread by cough droplets on hands. Washing your hands before touching and eating food is good advice for anyone, to stop the spread of germs. |
More than 110 countries have now reported coronavirus cases and the World Health Organization has declared the spread of the virus a Pandemic Here are the answers to a selection of readers' questions. 1. What is the incubation period for the coronavirus? - Gillian Gibs It takes five days on average to start showing the symptoms , scientists have said, but some people will get symptoms much later than this. The incubation period lasts up to 14 days, the World Health Organization (WHO) says. But some researchers say it may be up to 24 days. Knowing and understanding the incubation period is very important. It allows doctors and health authorities to introduce more effective ways to control the spread of the virus. 2. If you recover from coronavirus are you immune? RubyRed on Twitter. Well, it is too soon to tell. This virus has only been around since the end of December, but from experience with other viruses and coronaviruses you should have antibodies to the virus which will protect you. With Sars and other coronaviruses we tended not to see reinfection. Now there are some reports from China of people who are released from hospital subsequently testing positive but we're not sure about those tests. However, the key thing was those people were no longer infectious. 3. What are the differences between coronavirus and flu? - Brent Starr, Gresham, Oregon, US Coronavirus and flu share many similar symptoms, making it difficult to diagnose without a test. The main coronavirus symptoms to look out for are fever and a cough. Flu often has other symptoms too, such as a sore throat, while people with coronavirus may feel short of breath. People who think they may be affected by coronavirus need to self-isolate immediately 4. What does self-isolation involve? - Alan Gell, Cheshire Self-isolation means staying at home for 14 days, not going to work, school or other public places, and avoiding public transport or taxis. You should also stay separate from other people in your home. No hosting of visitors or meeting of any sort. You should even try to stay away from your pets - if that isn't possible, wash your hands before and after touching them. 5. How dangerous is coronavirus for people with asthma? - Lesley-Anne, Falkirk, UK Respiratory infections, such as coronavirus, can trigger the symptoms of asthma. Asthma UK advises those who are concerned about the virus to follow a series of steps to manage their asthma. These include taking a preventer inhaler daily as prescribed. This helps cut the risk of an asthma attack being triggered by any respiratory virus, including coronavirus. 6. If schools are closed will there be financial help available for parents? - Richard, Eastleigh Employers have to give you time off to deal with a domestic emergency, but they don't have to pay you. The time you take has to be a reasonable amount. You can apply for some unpaid leave as well. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-51176409? |

kayusely70:I'm just imagining what will happen if Trump or Boris Johnson tested positive. It appears Nigeria is managing it better. No death and only 2 cases so far |
Health minister and Conservative MP Nadine Dorries says she has been diagnosed with coronavirus. Ms Dorries, the first MP to test positive, said she had taken all the advised precautions after finding out, and had been self-isolating at home. It comes as a sixth person died from the virus in the UK, which has a total of 382 cases. The latest person to die was a man in his early 80s who had underlying health conditions. Meanwhile, NHS England said it was scaling up its capacity for testing people for the infection, with the number of cases set to rise. That will mean 10,000 tests a day can be done - currently 1,500 are being carried out. Confirmation of any positive test results will also be accelerated with most people getting a result back within 24 hours. Ms Dorries, the MP for Mid Bedfordshire, said in a statement that Public Health England had started tracing people she had had contact with, and the department and her parliamentary office were closely following its advice. The 62-year-old, who began her career as a nurse, later tweeted that it had been " pretty rubbish but I hope I'm over the worst of it now ". But she added she was worried about her 84-year-old mother who was staying with her and began to cough on Tuesday. It is not known how many meetings Ms Dorries had attended at Westminster or in her constituency in recent days. The Department of Health said she first showed symptoms on Thursday - the same day she attended a Downing Street event hosted by the prime minister - and had been self-isolating since Friday. No 10 did not comment on whether Boris Johnson had undergone testing, or whether he will now be tested. All health ministers, including Health Secretary Matt Hancock, are to undergo testing for the virus, along with other officials who have come into contact with Ms Dorries. Mr Hancock tweeted that she had "done the right thing" by self-isolating at home and wished "her well as she recovers". He added: "I understand why people are worried about this disease. We will do all we can to keep people safe, based on the best possible science." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51827356?iorg_service_id_internal=624173547714020%3BAfrJFwrFwFqgpvMS |

More misinformation 4. Kenya training session audio causes alarm In Kenya, the government has had to put out a statement denouncing "fake news" about the coronavirus, which includes an audio recording, circulated on WhatsApp, claiming to be an official press briefing on the virus. Twitter post by @SpokespersonGoK: PRESS RELEASE on fake news about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the country. Report The recording states that there were 63 cases in the country, which is not true. There are currently no confirmed cases in Kenya. The health ministry said it had been part of a communications training exercise but did not explain how it had been made public. Under an existing law, Kenyans risk a fine of $50,000 (£39,000) or a two-year jail sentence for publishing or sharing fake news about an outbreak. Twitter post by @MOH_Kenya: The Ministry of Health would like to caution the general public against an audio being shared on WhatsApp groups about confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Country. There is NO confirmed case of COVID-19 in Kenya. @KNH_hospital @CDCKenya @UNICEFKenya @WHOKenya @BreakingNewsKE Image Copyright @MOH_Kenya@MOH_KENYA Report Coronavirus: How can you protect yourself? 5. Cures In Nigeria, a preacher posted a video and a poster claiming that pepper soup is a cure for coronavirus. The claim was also shared on WhatsApp. There is no cure or specific treatment for coronavirus and the claim gives few details about the medicinal properties of pepper soup - a traditional spicy Nigerian dish. The WHO says the outbreak has caused an "infodemic" of false and misleading information. In Cape Verde, the tiny Portuguese-speaking West African nation, a post spread on social media claiming that a Brazilian doctor had recommended fennel tea as a cure for coronavirus. It prompted a rush for the herb in local markets, reported AFP. The Brazilian health ministry has warned people not to share an article suggesting fennel as a cure for coronavirus. The World Health Organization says that thorough and regular hand-washing is crucial in the fight to avoid infection. |

Five people have been killed in a shooting at the Molson Coors Brewing Company campus in Milwaukee, Wisconsin state, local officials say. They say the gunman died from "self-inflicted wounds". The attacker was identified as a 51-year-old Milwaukee resident. His motives were unclear. The shooting occurred in the early afternoon while hundreds of employees were still at work. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said it was a "tragic day for the city". Speaking at a news briefing shortly after Wednesday's shooting, he described it as a "horrific act". Meanwhile, Milwaukee police chief Alfonso Morales said that the five victims were all employees of the brewing company. He praised the way the city's police, FBI officers and firefighters responded to the attack. As the incident unfolded, nearby schools and businesses were locked down, local media report. Speaking at the White House in Washington, President Donald Trump offered his "deepest condolences to the victims and families in Milwaukee". He described the gunman as a "wicked murderer". Wisconsin congressman Mike Gallagher condemned the attack on Twitter, saying: "There's no place for these kinds of hateful and disgusting acts in our society." Rebecca May, really messed up UK economy by locking Africans out of the country. UK economy in 2019 ended up flat @ 0% Even this policy is still seriously flawed. Low income earners from Africa remain the oil needed to help UK economy recovery. Gorem2013: |
DeomoviesI:You welcome UK is opening her to immigrant from Asia and Africa but they must score at least 70marks on point based assesment to get visa. UK under Johnson want to block low quality individual from entering her country for job |
Calculating the point, 70 is a must People wanting to come to the UK from outside the EU will find rules are being relaxed, such as scrapping the cap on skilled workers or the drop in minimum salary. But for EU migrants who are used to moving freely between Britain and the continent, the new regime will be something of a shock. Visitors can come for six months without a visa, but they won't be able to work, those with skills must have a job offer and clear the 70 points hurdle, and there'll be no work permits for migrants prepared to do menial jobs in restaurants, hotels, care homes and food processing plants. There is some flexibility in the new structure. But the question is, will it be enough to prevent labour shortages and companies taking their business elsewhere? Under the new plan, all migrants will only be entitled to access income-related benefits until after indefinite leave to remain is granted, usually after five years. Currently, EU nationals in the UK can claim benefits if they are "economically active". Non-EU citizens become eligible for benefits when they are granted permanent residence, which usually requires five years of living legally in the UK. Following recommendations from the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), the salary threshold for skilled workers wanting to come to the UK would be lowered from £30,000 to £25,600. The independent advisory body argued that lowering the threshold would help recruit teachers and skilled NHS staff. Unlike the current system, applicants would also be able to trade points. Those earning less than £25,600, but more than £20,480, could still apply for visas if they had a job in a "specific shortage occupation" or a PhD relevant to the job. A list of shortage occupations would be kept under review by the MAC, the government said. Jobs currently on the MAC's Shortage Occupation List include civil engineers, medical practitioners, nurses, psychologists and classical ballet dancers. Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott said the salary threshold system would "need to have so many exemptions, for the NHS, for social care and many parts of the private sector, that it will be meaningless". She added: "Ultimately, it will also be very difficult to attract the workers we need at all skill levels while the Tories' hostile environment is in place. It needs to go." Proposed points system Mandatory requirements Points Job offer from approved sponsor 20 Job at appropriate skill level 20 English at required level 10 Points for salary Points £20,480 – £23,039 0 £23,040 – £25,599 10 £25,600 or above 20 Additional points Points Job in a shortage occupation 20 PhD in subject relevant to the job 10 PhD in relevant STEM subject 20 Under the new plan, there would no longer be an overall cap on the number of skilled workers who could come into the UK - one of the areas praised by the CBI. Following recommendations from MAC, the definition of skilled workers would also be expanded to include those educated at A-level, not just at graduate level, as was previously the case. But waiting staff roles would be removed from the list of skilled occupations, while new additions would include carpenters, plasterers and childminders. To study in the UK, overseas students would need the offer of a place at an educational institution, have to know English, and be able to show they can support themselves. Changes to the system would be implemented through an immigration bill needing approval from MPs and peers to come into force. Shadow immigration minister Bell Ribeiro-Addy told the BBC's Newsnight: "I feel like people have been duped a bit. We were told this was an Australian style points-based system. "The Australian system is meant to encourage migration across sectors. I know that they don't want to do that, but why are you calling it one thing when it's another?" Liberal Democrat home affairs spokeswoman Christine Jardine said the proposals were based on "xenophobia". |
