Family / Local Government Work/modern Slavery? by Socsed(m): 1:54pm On Oct 07, 2019 |
Not until today, did I know that working with a local government in some states is just like being jobless. I paid an extended family member a visit this morning. It was obvious he was bothered. I was prompted to ask if all was well. He said the country is just too unbearable. During our discussion, he told me his basic salary was #11,500. A level G9 officer. The other allowances plus his basic salary is #29,500. Tax, Pension, e.t.c would still be deducted. How do we justify this? Someone with 3 kids and a wife. What if he doesn't have anything else to support the family with? As a final year student, I'm so baffled haven heard this. Do we actually have a future in this country? |

Immoralities shouldn't be spread. Some people even the educated ones opined that it's by free will to watch. What would become of our society if we always insist on freedom? Won't the kids who watched discuss with their friends who didn't? Do you think kids won't want to choose those idiots as role models? Especially these days when young ones are too inquisitive. They want to know virtually everything. The gospel truth is that the generation that are yet to come will curse some parents and family members. Don't you talk about the nonsense in front of the kids? When the rate of underage kids engaging in immoralities like pornography, seduction increases, then Nigerians will understand. We always fail to think ahead. It's either we play blame on our religions or ethnic groups. What a failed state! #SAYNOTOIMMORALITIES# #BASHIRUWASIUWRITES# |

Hypocrisy! Almost everyone including our usual wailers agreed it's a mistake. However, had this happened in Nigeria, esp. from President Buhari, the story could've been different. They could've said a thousand words, calling the president an sort of names, forgetting that he's bound to make mistakes too. It really beats my imagination.... We need to check ourselves. |

Etimocracy: Perhaps it's better than the irresponsible teenagers we've in some other parts. Not long ago, I visited a town, I was surprised sex among young boys and girls(12 and above) was the norms of the kids. Actually, their parents knew but were only bothered about them getting pregnant. So, brother, the world has really changed. While I was a teacher some years back, the kids(Primary 5 students) I taught had boyfriends(acknowledged by their parents). Maturity & Sustenance should be the benchmark for Marriage, not class, positions. And I'm sure they have both. I stand to be corrected. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Bitchiamjay: It's obvious someone is decieving the other. Server or no server, I think it's hightime they developed the country. Whenever the elephants fight, the grasses suffer. While ATIKU is spending his personal money as expected from a damn rich man, the Presidency, APC and INEC maybe spending from the government treasure. Either way, they all may not be seriously affected. We shouldn't be too glad and blind. I hope you can relate. |

It beats my imagination that most of the igbos always wailing online will lick Buhari's shoe when they meet him for once. He's your president men! The GCFR! The Biafra you clamour for is just an illusion! You lack the experience, will, and political power. Anyway, the Southwest should be proud. We've really achieved a lot. Don't ask me the achievement, at least, you weren't born to be blind. Look, when it comes to Education, Political strength, Infrastructural development. We top the list. Perhaps why our states are flooded with igbos. Enough is enough. Don't push us to the wall. Wailing on social medias doesn't mean you are the only one who has the Monopoly to talk. Perhaps we should start correcting you, so, you don't become fools forever. To the intellects among the igbos, I salute your courage in rising above your sentiments. When dignitaries from countries like this visit Nigeria, my heart often beat twice as fast. They should please provide them with adequate securities and pray they don't die here. Some enemies of the country (insiders) may want to cause problem. And countries with nuclear weapons like this may not understand. Ehn ehn So, our case don't turn worse. franktalk007: Thanks a lot. I had a talk with one of the Bank Customer services staff. He said the same thing. I was though pretty annoyed when he said they won't be able to refund the money. It has been more than 6 months they've been deducting such. And they couldn't even inform. Didn't they know they were deducting twice? Anyway, I pay appreciation for your accurate and appropriate information. Remain blessed. 1 Like |

My Tweet@ imodola to UBA this afternoon: Hello! Is it a must everyone cheats? I just recieved 3 messages each deducting #52 for Card maintenance for MAY. Does that sound logical? You know that was how someone sent me #5000 and the message confirmed it but still in the same message you wrote, balance: #4600. Don't let me swear for you oo! Better refund my money now. My parents are struggling to sponsor me but it's now obvious you're an official scam. I await your response. That will determine if you should be cursed. The more people rationalize cheating, the more it becomes a culture of dishonesty. And that can become a vicious, downward cycle.
