I’d argue it doesn’t quite capture the core of the issue. The point is that “maintenance” as a proactive culture doesn’t really exist in Nigeria, not just linguistically, but practically.

Look around: most public institutions and infrastructure are left to decay completely before any action is taken. The idea of fixing things while they still function is almost nonexistent. So it's not just about personal possessions, it's a broader mindset issue that reflects in how we manage public resources.
What is your assessment about Private establishment in Nigeria? Does it reflect the same lack of maintenance culture? Please be sincere with your assessment.

How exactly does my statement connect to the governance issue you abruptly brought into the conversation? And if you claim that 'maintenance' exists in some of our local languages, then what proverb or adage actually reflects that idea?
I don't want to be narrow minded and that is the reason for broadening your view. And as regards an adage in Yoruba Language it goes like this: 'ti abafe ki inkhon ko baje aman tun she ni'

Meaning if you don't want a thing to get out of control, to get damaged, to lose it's usefulness you have to keep repairing it'. Please don't be annoyed because I broadened my view on the topic. Let me ask you a question though. Do you also lack maintenance culture with regards your own possessions?!

All that Sowore of any critic needs to is come up with a well detail cost analysis of what genuinely should be the amount that is required for this rehabilitation.

some of u don't jst understand why rehabilitation can cost more than d entire project... For instance if in 2001, 20 million budget was made for maintainance and d person in charge chop d money....and they keep chopping d 20 million for maintainance till 2025, you have to calculate all d 20 million people have chopped or embezzled to rehabilitate d building.....

So because say people go chop small money when constructing d road that leads to your house, d government should not construct it arbi?
The don't understand. Rehabilitation is more tedious than a new construction and glups more money.

Maintenance is hardly a cultural norm in Nigeria, partly because the concept doesn’t even have a direct reference in most local languages
It has in local proverbs and adages. The problem is our conceptual understanding about goververnace which means 'it is not mine or it doesn't matter'. Same people in government practice maintenance on their private properties.

Sports › Re: Michelle Alozie Learning How To Speak Pidgin English is Hilarious. (video) by Softmirror:
This life sha! What ever will be, will be. I was watching a video of her telling her story of how she joined the team. She said, the Super Falcons had Visa problems hence few players were able to come over to the United States for a competition. The American, Waldron, coaching our team became desperate, searching for any female football players who qualifies as a Nigerian, 'a Nigerian blood' living in the United States and that was how the coach reached out to her. Both never met each before. She went for training and that was the beginning of her journey with the Superfalcons.

I am very confident that, very soon my sisters are going to win the world cup. The Superfalcons have a very healthy talented players from the younger squad who will perform far better in the nearest future with a fusion of this successful ones.

Our greatest luck was that we didn't have to substitute our very good goalkeeper in any match. Our substitute goal keeper would have robbed us of all glory because she is so old and unfit. I hope the super falcons are working on bringing in a reliable goal keeper that will be able to substitute our number one goalkeeper with our giving us heart attack.

There is an international influence to the elongation of his tenure. He is currently holding the position of the chairman of WORLD CUSTOM ORGANIZATION. The first Nigerian to ever hold that position.

Food for thought.

Everyone has reservations about Nigeria, but Kemi is disappointed that nothing has changed in the leadership of Nigeria she left several decades ago.

She hasn't been able to differentiate between junta and democratic governance in Nigeria because the latter is like the former in mufti. She's just expressing her disgust for how E-Bola runs the country.
Like you already said everyone has their own reservation about Nigeria. She should focus on not being a Nigerian woman as simple as A,B,C.

Some reservation can be so narrow but reservation nah reservation.
