After 160 years of British dominance/ruling over the people of Nigeria, the country liberated herself in March 1960.The same year more than 69 blacks were killed by the white Apartheid in South Africa. As a result of Nigeria's successful liberation, the country formed new leaders with Tafawa Balewa as prime minister. Among his first duties was to send letter to ACN militants on 4th of April,1961, in response to the killing of scores, to make sure peace return to SA. That's not all,in 1970,BALEWA also doled $5m to the ACN and Pan Africanist Congress (PAC),annually and became the first leader ever to provide direct financial support to SA. Six years later,South Africa Relief Fund (SAFR) was formed by Nigeria in 1976 to provide relief, education and cater for welfare of the victims of apartheid in SA. During military regime in 1977,Obasanjo,together with every member of his cabinet contributed total sum of $10.5m to help SA. Nigeria also created 'Mandela's tax' to further contribute to SAFR. These and more are some of the ways Nigeria contributed morally and financially and politically to liberate SA,and other countries of Africa. In other words,Nigeria helped liberate SA. As a result of support for SA,one would expect SA to be second home to many Nigerians but sadly, the people from the Africa most populous country residing in SA have always been the subject of xenophobic attacks-many Nigerians were maimed, killed and their properties were also destroyed. Recent of this unfriendly display of South Africans is the attack on Nigerians in Pretoria,a state in SA,where properties including workshops worth millions were set ablaze. It is on this note i challenge SA Government to rise up and protect Nigerians living in SA to avoid the repeat of this menace. #AFRICANEEDSUNITYTOSUSTAIN

All of a sudden..... Niger Delta Avengers ran out of dynamites... Fulani herdsmen ran out of bullets.... Boko Haram insurgents lost their mojo.... Southern Kaduna crisis went on half time.... Cattle rustlers lost steam.... Islamization Agenda crooners disbanded.... Rising dollar rates no longer a concern.... Inflation rates put aside....... Fiery preachers and prophets of doom stopped prophesying..... Biafrans have stopped agitating and threatening.... Why? It's because.... Buhari is not in town.... But as soon as he announces his return, watch out for the return of all of the above . Happy week end Nigerians! |

TuFace: Between Personal LIFE and RIGHTS If I don't have any engagement scheduled for Monday, I will be at the Lagos leg of #TuFace protest. You're free to disagree. Ever since hiphop legend, #InnocentIdibia aka TuFace made it known that he was going to lead a protest against the policies of government that have worsened economic situation in the country, many educated-illiterates have been criticising the man. Rather than be concerned about the message, the hypocritical Nigerian, took to the social and traditional media to attack the messenger. More embarrassing is the reaction of one professor. When people like #el_Rufai, #Shittu, #BalaMuhammed and others were elected or appointed, you hardly hear any noise about how many wives they have but because it is Tuface, they are now saying that he has fathered many children through seven wives. Is it not true that 'birds aren't crying like birds again'? Is it not true that dollar is not what it used to be? Is it not true that unemployment has worsened? Is it not true that corruption has assumed a dangerous dimension? Is it not true that the Buhari administration has not performed beyond expectations? Despite the fact that your father has/had many wives and concubines, does/did that stop him from being your father? Abeg, let's face ISSUES and not TISSUES. The protest is not to overthrow Buhari but to remind him and his aides that things are not okay for Nigeria and Nigerians. The fact that somebody is a SINNER doesn't mean that something good cannot come from him. And moreover, the fact that I am one of the supporters of Mr President doesn't stop me from criticising him when things are not okay. Late #FelaAnikulapoKuti, despite his obvious 'madness', was a mentor to many living and dead Nigerians. |

Malam Usman Abbas, a younger brother to late Prof. Aliyu Usman Mani, who was killed during a suicide bomb attack at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), has said Abubakar Shekau is a “dead man waiting to go to hell”. Usman stated this in an open letter to Abubakar Shekau, factional leader of the Boko Haram insurgents, which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri on Thursday. “I listened to your audio message in which you claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attack that killed my brother Professor Aliyu Usman Mani and others during subh (early morning) prayer at the University of Maiduguri Staff quarters mosque on Monday January 16, 2017. “I am addressing this letter to you and calling you “dead” because your filthy, satanic, useless and lost soul is just wandering on earth waiting to get to hell where you have earned yourself permanent residency in the deepest and most painful part of it. “Contrary to your claim in most of your video or audio messages, the innocent people you kill are better than you in the sight of both human beings and Allah and you are the one surely going to hell. “Your soul will never smell heaven. “The tears I shed on the death of my brother were for my personal loss. For the deceased however, I am extremely happy because he died in a mosque, praying (in ruku’u), fasting on a Monday and was killed by your bomb. “Given a choice, I would not mind the same type of death. “His death was very painful but I want to assure you that you cannot stop us from going to the mosque to pray, neither can you stop us from seeking for and obtaining knowledge and education (both Islamic and western). “We have no doubt lost a brother, father, grandfather, Professor, gentleman, pillar of support, guardian and a good man but we have gained a martyr. “We are very proud of what Professor Aliyu Usman Mani achieved in life and in death, we are certain he died in one of the best possible ways to exit this world and that his hereafter is even better. “In death, Professor Aliyu’s status was elevated, his popularity soared, his name heard beyond the academia, beyond the shores of Nigeria, his burial was attended by hundreds of people including my humble self and others from all walks of life prayed for him in private and in congregations at places of worship. “You cannot change or take away the good things people said and are still saying about him neither can you change the bad things they said and are still saying about you. “Even your parents, children and relations if you have any, cannot be proud of what you are doing not to talk of the country and Islam as a religion. “You can only deceive the gullible, uneducated in both Islamic and western education and innocent boys and girls who did not know what they were doing into carrying out your devilish plans. “If you are convinced that what you are doing is Islam and Almighty Allah is truly with you, then show your face, operate from a known and traceable address, use only male adults and do not brainwash small boys and girls into carrying out attacks on your behalf while you hide like a rat in a hole and claim heroism afterwards. “I say you are already dead because “alive”, you the killer of Professor Aliyu Usman Mani, cannot show your face physically, cannot move around freely, cannot sleep peacefully, cannot command respect willfully. ” You cannot do anything normally, you cannot enjoy life fully, you can only live in the bush with your cousins the wild animals tamely, and will surely die miserably without the privilege of a proper burial,” said Usman in the letter. |
