Dentidon:

Which wurururu? Dey use your brain small!

How did Obi who came third win the election? You dey mad?

It is quite simple, given that party APC had 8million votes , party PDP had 7million votes and party LP had 6million votes.
If it turns out that party APC rigged part of their opponent votes (vote counts manipulation) it means their actual vote counts will get reduced when presented the original results and meanwhile party PDP and LP vote counts gets increased respectively provided that either of the latter parties didn't have any manipulations.

In a simple term,

APC 8Million votes (3million votes discovered rigged; over vote or was taken out of PDP & LP votes)

PDP 7 Million votes (might as well rigged, votes count get reduced as a result)

LP 6 million votes (if not rigged, the votes count can increase to 7-7.5million votes)

Hold on....u cant just contact them randomly...

Sort ur NIN and passport first with immigration .....when ur passport age has plum with ur other documents..apply for a course or job to watever country u want...

... get addmision and apply for visa....it is at the point of apllying for visa u will add a cover note explaining your situation in details...

Attach all ur old passport so they can see u did it whem u were minor......apply with enough time cos this ur kimd apllication get k-leg and expect ban...or nothing may even happen.. oyinbo like whwn people talk truth

Better still u can avoid UK or US....there are european countries out there with equally grand standard of living

My NIN is actually carrying my real DOB 14/04/1993 and as you suggested, all I need to do is getting a new passport if it's not going to affect me later on in future.

Well u can always explain ur case to UKVI that u were a minor when they did ur first passport and ddnt understand why ur people did it that way....

But now u want travel on your own u want to set things right....hope u have not apllied to any schools with the passport?? First thing is to get a new NIN carrying 1996 and then proceed to get a new passport with nigerian immigration... dont initiate a change request with immigration ..it costs lots of money and time

Sworn affidavit from court is used to explain that there was an error....and that ur real age or name is xyz.....although since ur school document also carries the age...they might expect a document from your school to back up your claim...

I will contact UKVI and explain to them and particularly the country I intend to travel to as to know what to do in such situation.

No, I haven't applied to any school yet as I know what could happen.

New NIN and New passport....I will research on this.

Thanks.

U have travelled with it.....that means u knew it was wrong data all along and went ahead with it...u will likely go chop 10 years ban once u come out clean....its not a bad idea though as it will correct ur issues but only cause delay

Another option is to maintain your 1996.....If your WAEC is the only certificate that carries your date of birth.... U can avoid presenting it by using IELTS for English proficiency.....

I have seen some people use sworn affidavit to explain DOB and name discrepancy on certificate.......urs might be believable since u have previous travel document already in the system with 1996......changing ur data with all embassies u travel to and with the Nigerian immigration is a very long thing

Hi AdvanceDNA, thanks for your kind response.

1. I was minor during the time I processed my passport, not knowing it's implications after I noticed the mistake. It was never my wish to alter my DOB as at that time.

2. Yea, my WAEC certificate carried 1993 boldly and also my transcript.
IELTS for English proficiency seem ok but someone also suggested that I should sit for another WAEC but it will render my BSC useless if I'm going with another O'level.

3. Using sworn affidavit to explain DOB and name discrepancy on certificates in embassies? Please, I didn't quite get this.
Travel / Changing The Date Of Birth On My International Passport by solamakinde1: 6:36am On Nov 18, 2022
It recently occurred to me that there's high chances that I might have my student Visa application denied because of the wrong/contracting date of birth that I'm having on my documents.

I made a mistake during the application of my international travelling passport. In it, I have 14/04/1996 which is quite different from my real DOB 14/04/1993 that I have in all my schooling documents ranging from Waec certificate to degree.

Though I have successfully traveled a couple of times with this passport without issues. Also I have applied for both UK and USA Visa with the passports which means that my data has been captured.

But this time around, I'm considering traveling through the student route and which I know it will require a lot of documentations checking.

The DOB on my Waec certificate is boldly 14/04/1993 while the passport is 14/04/1996.

Please what can I do?
Is correcting the DOB on the passport the right choice? What implications will this have on my chances of reapplying for UK and USA Visa in the future?

Waiting for your kind response. Thanks

If you want to make money in Nigerian entertainment industry, but you don’t have much in the way of musical talent, you can start your own independent record label. This is also an option for upcoming musicians who are having trouble getting signed with a major label deal.

Running (indie) record label in Nigeria is ecstatic, but it takes a whole lot of commitment and a ton of money. It is critical and important you go into the business with open eyes. If your objective or sole purpose of wanting to have a label is to release your music then follow me along, this article provides a basic overview on how to start your own record label in Nigeria.

Choose A Business Structure And Label Name

This is the time to figure out how the label will operate, such as who will be responsible for which tasks and how people will be paid. Do a little online research to make sure your name isn't already taken.

Some skip this step but it will be a very good idea to set-up your record label as a legal business entity from the initial stage with corporate affairs commission (CAC). Basically, to register a record label with CAC it will cost you about N100,000 to N200,000 in Nigeria. There are a few general guidelines to keep in mind ; If you are starting the label with other partners, you will need a partnership agreement that details the percentage of ownership each partner has, how each partner can leave the business, how decisions will be made in the partnership, and so on. For most indie labels, the best business structure is one that is simple and that protects the partners from personal liability should something go wrong in the business.

Benefits Of Registering Your Record Label With Corporate Affairs Commission Of Nigeria (CAC)

You can open a corporate account with your registered business certificate.

Potential customers tends to feel more comfortable paying into a corporate account than a regular saving account bearing your name. And you can open a corporate account with any bank of your choice with a registered business.

Registering your business gives your business a business structure.

You can apply for bank loans and grants when your record label is registered.

You have better access to investors with a registered business as investors look at your business structure first before investing.

A registered business gives clients confidence that they are dealing with a reputable organization.

With a registered business, you can easily obtain a visa and travel to any country for events, tours and for other purposes.

Figuring Out Distribution

Music is moving from physical purchases to digital downloads and streaming, and Nigeria is definitely part of this, market for online music has been very positive. Aggregating services like Palmwine Media will put your music on sites like iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal, YouTube, Deezer, Spinlet, Vevo, Boomplay, and 150+ other platforms. You can set up these services from the word go, so you don't have to wait around with good releases on your hand that you can't move at all.

Some physical distributors will work with anyone, these companies will actively get involved in selling your releases to the stores and will often help you advertise your releases. These sorts of companies usually want to know that you've got a busy release schedule planned—they don't like working with a label with one release.
Distributors deals in which they pay for manufacturing up front and recoup it from sales. It helps with your cash flow in the short term, but these deals are becoming more of a rarity.

Artwork Approval

Be ready for delays, which happen often. Also be aware that, at least in your first few jobs with a manufacturer, you will have to sign off on the printing before the job is complete.

Your distributor will prefer a good lead time to sell your release to their stores. They will also want your release to have an appropriate place on their schedule so that your release is not overshadowed by bigger releases they may have. Even though shuffling your release date to accommodate a bigger release might be a bit annoying, it is in your best interest to have your distributor focused on your project.

Figuring Out Promotion

Radio; terrestrial radio, satellite radio, internet radio, Printmedia, Onlinemedia,
Clubs Advertising: posters, print ads, internet ads, and even TV ads, If you have never done promotion work before, you will need to do some groundwork, like building up a press database.
Hire PR for certain parts of your campaign.

First Release Redux: Ride The Learning Curve

It has been said before, but it bears repeating that running a record label is a learning process. When you commit to starting a label, commit to riding out its ups and downs. Sometimes things are going to go wrong, even if you do everything right.
When you start a record label, finding music to release and finding a low budget distribution channels is a bit of a chicken and egg situation. Distributors want to know that you have some music ready to go before they will commit to working with you (in most cases), but musicians will want to know that you have distribution before they sign to your label and sometimes, unsigned musicians will be willing to come on board before you source for distribution.
Don't chase trends. Focus on releasing and promoting quality music, nurturing your fan base, and being good to your artistes. Things tend to fall into place when you focus on the basics.

Finding music to release can be harder than it sounds; it's a bit like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. One of the easiest things you can do is to start locally. Go check out some local musicians (there are tons of them on the social media who are looking for some who will help polish their raw singing talents) and see if you can find a few artistes you'd like to work with.
Chances are, even with the best intentions and carefully made plans, you will have made a mistake with your first release. That's fine, after your first release, take some time to evaluate the whole process and decide what went cool and what needs improvement. Apply your lessons to your next release. Move on. As long as you're learning from each release, you're doing just fine.

Record Label (Indie) Contracts: Framework And Artiste Deals

This is the core aspect of most record labels, you will need to set up a deal with the artistes and this deal (contracts) can either make you or break you. One of the best thing about indie labels is that you can essentially have any kind of deal you want.
Be honest with your artistes about what you can provide and what you can't. If a problem crops up, be honest with them about that too; basically there is no record label without artistes or bands. Bad reputations in the industry are almost always derived from dishonesty.
Most record labels don't make their contracts flexible enough to accommodate the growth of their artistes, do not let this be your case, in-fact consider going into partnership with them to build a larger entity which could give a 'bigger pie' to share at the end of the day. It makes life a lot more easier when you create an equilibrium deal that works for you and the artist on a case-by-case basis.

How Does A Record Label Make Money?

Sales & Streaming: Artistes and record labels earns from direct sales and online streaming.
Publishing & Licencing: Music publishing and licensing is an increasingly important revenue stream for independent labels and artistes. Publishing refers to the ownership of songs and compositions, while licensing makes your music available for sync deals with visual media, including adverts, games, TV shows and movies but you need to register with the appropriate governing bodies.
Performance Royalties: You collect performance royalties when your song is played on the radio or live at a show.
Merchandising &Ticket Sales: Artistes and labels can always earn some extra cash at live events and online by selling tickets and music merch such as T-shirts, Hoodies, Posters, CDs etc.

Conclusion
Most record labels don't make money, but if you run it properly, your label could be of great assistance to an artiste. If that artiste does well, then your label will make a portion of everything the artiste makes and that's the reason why you need to consider a partnership agreement between your artistes, trust me its going be a long lasting relationship for you both.

You must get your music out of the studio and bring it to the ears of the people whether you have money or not. Either ways, I have compiled 7 ways below on how to promote your song as an upcoming artiste in Nigeria.

1. Firstly, ensure you share your new song with friends and families.
2. Upload your song on Nigerian music/video sites; sites such as YouTube, Naijaloaded, Soundcloud, iTunes, Hulkshare among others. Some are free and some requires a token.
3. Take your song to radio stations for broadcast to wide range audiences. Listen to lasgidi 90.1 fm 9am-12pm everyday if you reside in Lagos, you could get yourself and song promoted for free, prior to that you can always send your new song to their email address info@lasgidifm.com for review
4. Promote your song on social media: As an aspiring music artiste, you need a very strong social media presence. You can use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or even WhatsApp to promote your song. Reaching out to social media Influential for a shout out is also a strategy for song promotion on the social media.
5. Perform live at Nigerian Local Shows and Events
6. Go For Nigeria Musical Audition, Concerts & Contests

Top music talent shows in Nigeria:

Take your time to search for nightclubs, carnivals, community festivals and among others, meet with the organizers of such events and offer your service at a relatively affordable price or out-rightly free of charge. Aside from profile and street recognition, you can never can tell who is listening ( Could be a record label boss). Performing at such event could also earn you recommendations for a well paid performance.

You will agree with me that Nigerian musical auditions/contests has brought many artistes out of nothing to lime light. Most of all this shows are annually, which means you can get auditioned for any of them every year.

1. MTN project Fame
2. X Factor
3. Star Quest
4. Nigeria's Got Talent
5. Destiny Child

If you perform very well, aside the cash prizes for the winners and the runner-ups of all these events, you tend to get exposure and recognition to wide range of audience nationawide. Getting signed under a record label won't then be a problem for you.

7. Connecting with Nigerian Music Record label companies;
Many superstars today such as Maryokun, Reekado Banks used this unconventional method to meet with their destiny helpers. Maryokun, reportedly met with Davido via the social media when Davido listened to Maryokun demo of him on Twitter, Reekado Banks before owning his personal record label also met with Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy on Twitter.
Regardless of this, there are different ways you can approach some of these Nigerian record labels owners.
1. Connect with them (Record label CEOs) through their social media handles, most record labels are very active on the social media.
2. Walk up to their record label studios/offices, we have a lot of these record label studios in Lagos, submit your song for review.
3. Send your song as attached MP3 file via Email to record label's management Email addresses which you can easily get on their social media bio.
