Setaje:
Feeling alone and unhappy. Avoiding people. The list is endless. The one I hate most is some people feel u are just being lazy. The idiots that say go and learn something as if they will give u money to go and learn. Some will say go and do masters, go and start buying and selling. As if they will give u money. Some will say u are choosy. Another will say start small. Start what small? The major problem is not laziness but background of job seekers. Job seekers who were hustlers in school, people who their parents added no value in their lives, who struggled in school already have that tenacity and will to do any kind of jobs. In Unilag I new girls who fix nails, do hair and the ones that carry aristos for a living. Had no help from family. The ones that carry aristos are d ones doing so well now and travel round the world and get married to one mugu. The ones doing handwork continue after school. While the rest, it's either their parents help them or they just sit and wait hoping for a breakthrough. You cannot compare such people who have been spoon fed by their parents which is actually the right thing to do, to start doing all sorts of menial jobs. We have all forgotten the very basis of going to school. The country wants to turn everybody to a daylight business woman or man. All my friends be make up artist, sell clothes and bags, perfumes, caterers and u say I should also do that and market to this same friends. Not everybody is wired to do business. Not everybody is wired to learn a handwork. Not everybody is meant to work in an office. cry frustration should not be the basis of going into anything. I have never seen anybody do well in something they have no love for......

Jobs/VacanciesWanted Or Needed For Job Ads. by solarview(op): 2:37pm On May 07, 2015
Which is more appropriate to use in job advertisements?

Many a time I see people using both 'wanted' and 'needed' to advertise job placement. But personally I think it is more appropriate to use needed when it comes to advertising a job position. Because 'wanted' sounds more like if the person had committed an offense and is being sought after.
If you have a better clarifications please feel free to clarify the best option between the two.

Eg.
1) A company driver needed in Solarview conglomerates.

2) A company driver wanted in Solarview conglomerates.

PoliticsScarcity: Petrol Sells For N250 Per Litre by solarview(op): 4:37pm On May 02, 2015
Fuel scarcity being experienced in some parts of the country had resulted in a sharp increase in pump price of the product in Iseyin Council Area of Oyo, from the official price of N87 per liter, to N250.

A survey by the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday indicated that while most of the filling stations in the town were closed due to non-availability of the product, few that had it sold from N240 to N250 per litre.

Some motorists, who spoke with NAN in separate interviews, described the development as “unfortunate”, saying government should find a lasting solution to the problem.

One of them, Olorunwa Emmanuel, said he spent over four hours at a filing station to buy the product at exorbitant price.

“I woke up as early as possible and got to Temitope filing station at about 6.00am, only to buy fuel four hours later at N240 per litre.

“The situation is worrisome and highly frustrating, I hope the incoming government will find a lasting solution,” he said.

Another vehicle owner, Saburi Ikotun, said he hoped that the marketers would start importing the product since the Federal Government had announced that it had settled their entitlements.

“There must be an end to this recurring problem of fuel scarcity. It is unfortunate that an oil producing country like Nigeria is battling with this problem,” he said.

Other motorists who spoke to NAN also expressed dismay over the development.

NAN also reports that as of Saturday, only three petrol stations were selling the product in the town.

Efforts to speak with petrol station attendants or Station Managers did not yield result as they all declined comment on the matter, saying they had to be granted permission before speaking to newsmen.

FamilyPrince Williams Wife, Duchess Of Cambridge, Gives Birth To Girl by solarview(op): 4:28pm On May 02, 2015
The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a girl, Kensington Palace has announced.

The baby – who is fourth in line to the throne – was “safely delivered” at 08.34 BST, the palace said in a statement.

The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth of the baby, who weighs 8lbs 3oz (3.7kg).

Both Catherine and her daughter are “doing well”, the statement added.

The duchess had earlier been admitted to the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital, where Prince George was born in July 2013.

The statement from Kensington Palace added, “The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

The latest royal joins the line of succession behind her grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William and brother Prince George.

On Thursday, during an official engagement, Prince Charles had said he was hoping the duchess gave birth to a girl.

Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted: “Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby girl. I’m absolutely delighted for them.”

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg tweeted that he and his wife Miriam wished the family “all the best”.

And Labour leader Ed Miliband wrote: “Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess on the birth of their daughter. Wishing them lots of joy and happiness – and hopefully some sleep!”

BusinessOil Prices Rise Further As Dollar Drops by solarview(op): 9:37am On May 02, 2015
Oil prices rose again Thursday on data suggesting the US crude glut is easing as the dollar weakened against the euro.
US benchmark West Texas Intermediate for June delivery rose $1.05 to $59.63 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
European benchmark Brent oil for June delivery gained 94 cents to $66.78 a barrel in London.
Analysts said the oil market continued to react to Wednesday’s US Department of Energy inventory report, which showed a 500,000 barrel drop in petroleum stocks to 61.7 million barrels at the key Cushing, Oklahoma trading hub.
While the decline was modest, it marked the first drop since late November. Traders are taking the decline as a sign producers are cutting back at key US petroleum sites, such as the Bakken region in North Dakota, analysts said.
“The oil price ‘wants’ to rise – this is the impression one is bound to gain if one looks at the events that have taken place on the oil market in recent weeks,” Commerzbank said.
“Certainly market participants are paying more attention and responding more to the ‘positive’ rather than to the ‘negative’ reports.”
Oil prices were given an additional upward push by the retreat in the dollar against the euro and some other currencies following Wednesday’s US economic report showing growth of just 0.2 percent in the first quarter.
A Fed statement Wednesday left open the timing of an increase as it waits for more signs of economic progress.
A weak dollar encourages consumption of crude and other dollar-denominated commodities outside the US.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: My Job Hunts Today Hit 1100times I Have Been Applying For Jobs In Nigeria by solarview(m): 8:00am On Apr 26, 2015
lookooman:
After reading through all responses to the op, i feel the need to make a little contribution. I have been in the op shoe. I got my best job 7 years after graduation, but i wasn't idle. A lot of responses dwell on starting your own business, volunteering, repackaging yourself and cv, e.t.c i will like to share my experience

- Starting your own business: while this is a good option many job seekers just cant cos of money. To start and maintain a good business in Nigeria cost a lot which many can't afford. I started by borrowing 100,000 in 2008 to start selling recharge card but quit after about 8 months, why ? I was just making enough to feed myself alone, can't even send money home, of what use is that then........ The lesson here is if you can't start your own business with good money you will only end up not making money from the business.

- volunteering is a no no for me. Id rather do a low paying job than volunteer, you can build your experience from low paying jobs. My first job after service in 2008 paid me 12,000 but i took it for experience and not to stay idle while earning something

- repackaging yourself and cv: jobseekers don't have to apply for every job opening cos they are looking for work. I learnt that lesson early enough and only concentrate on jobs i am qualified for so as to increase my chances of getting called. Jobseekers have to look good and have good communication skills.

Opportunities available to jobseekers differ from location to location and individual to individual. I for instance detest marketing jobs and i stay clear of them. If you are not in a big city, the opportunities are limited and the pay smaller.

people should also know that the economic situation in Nigeria is bad, there are few good jobs, joblessness is actually not spiritual

The painful part of my job seeking sojourn is that while i was job hunting, i see my colleagues who are less brilliant getting the best jobs cos they are well connected...smh

but i believe that will reduce or stop now that gmb is here, jobs will start flowing in abundance soon.

GOD BLESS YOUR HUSTLE
God bless you Sir for being this real and sincere, you truly spoke as a Nigerian with the Nigerian experience, once again may God bless you 10,000 times. I'm not exaggerating it. I wish we have more like-minded people like you in this country. Infact I wish I could, I would have chosen you as mentor.
