Family / Man Sues In-laws For Giving Him Already Pregnant Daughter In Kaduna by soliuwap(m): 3:06pm On Oct 17, 2019
A 35 -year-old man, Ibrahim Adamu, on Thursday dragged both his parents-in-law before the Magajin Gari Shari’a Court in Kaduna State, accusing them of foisting their already pregnant daughter on him in marriage.

The defendants are Sani Dogon-Zikiri, his father-in-law and Laura Sani, his mother-in-law, both accused of deceit and breach of trust.

The plaintiff, who resides at Rijjana village, told the court through his counsel, Mr. Hussaini Yakubu, that the defendants had deceitfully gotten their daughter married to him knowing she was already pregnant.

The plaintiff also accused his wife, Nafisa Sani of allegedly conniving with her parents to deceive him.

“The complainant and his wife had conducted a pregnancy test shortly after marriage which confirmed that she was two weeks pregnant before the wedding. He then asked his wife about the pregnancy and she confirmed that the pregnancy wasn’t his”, the counsel to the plaintiff’ told the court.

The counsel prayed the court to compel the defendants to pay his client the sum of N100,000 as compensation for deception.

The defendants, through their lawyer, Mr. Abubakar Suleiman, denied the allegations. Suleiman argued that the plaintiff ought to have raised alarm the very moment he discovered his wife’s alleged pregnancy rather than wait until the baby was born.

Science/Technology / Instagram Tests Group Stories After Facebook Ditched Them by soliuwap(m): 3:32am On Oct 06, 2019
Facebook might not be giving up on Group Stories just because it’s cutting them from its main app. App sleuther Jane Manchun Wong has found test code for a Group Story feature in Instagram. There’s no mystery to how it works — you’d just choose to “share to Group Story.” Still, it could be helpful for those moments when you’d like to recap your adventures for a smaller social circle beyond those you’ve marked as Close Friends.

Like other tests, there’s no guarantee this will make the cut. That’s particularly relevant given the fate of the equivalent feature in Facebook. However, it might stand a better chance of survival in Instagram. Simply put, Stories are more of a staple here than they are in Facebook — it makes more sense to include them in this app. It helps that Instagram already has Story stickers that directly link to group chats.

Webmasters / 16 Content Promotion Platforms To Increase Your Blog’s Traffic by soliuwap(m): 12:41pm On Oct 05, 2019
What is a content promotion platform?
Content promotion platforms are designed to make promoting content easier and quicker. Many of them automate the process, meaning you simply set things up and let the tools do their work.

These platforms have the ability to reach a broader audience than you can achieve on your own. And, a larger audience, means more people seeing your work. Reaching more people paves the way for them to discover your blog. And if they like what they see, they may even come back for more.

Webmasters / 20 Different Types Of Content You Can Create For Your Blog by soliuwap(m): 7:34am On Oct 05, 2019
There will always be a time during your blogging journey when you just don’t know what to write about.

Whether it’s writer’s block rearing its ugly head, or you’re simply out of ideas, it can be hard to get out of that funk.

Instead of pushing through with the same old blog post, utilise a bit of creative thinking to turn the ordinary on its head.

Here are 20 different types of content you can publish:

1. Listicles
Everybody loves a list. They’re easy to scan, have digestible information and they’re super popular for social media sharing.

You can create lists on almost any subject. It could be your favourite books or a list of your top bloggers to follow.

2. Written tutorials and how to’s
Tutorials and how-to guides are a great way to engage your audience and educate them in a single blog post. Plus, they’re easy to work on too since you’re already familiar with the topic.

The key thing to remember when writing how-to guides is to break things down into small actionable steps. This makes it easier for readers to follow your instructions. Including step-by-step screenshots further aids in this, especially for visual learners.

Marketing bloggers could write tutorials on how to use different social media platforms. Beauty bloggers can guide their readers through makeup applications. It all depends on your target audience and what they want to read.

3. Video tutorials
If writing full guides on a subject seems too daunting for you, you can always create a video tutorial instead. Video is hugely popular – sometimes more popular than the written word, so utilising it in your blog makes a lot of sense.

Your options for video tutorials include:

Filming yourself explaining things
Filming a screen cast of you performing the tutorial steps
Filming a screen cast with a voice-over explaining as you go through the steps.
When posting your tutorial to your blog, you can either host the video directly on your website by uploading it. Or, you could upload it to a video hosting site like YouTube or Vimeo and embed it in a blog post on your site.

4. Checklists
A checklist is one of the simplest types of content you can publish. We’ve all written a check-list or to-do list before and they work because they’re short, easy to digest and allow the ability to cross items off as you complete them.

Translating this into a blog post is the same thing. Simply post your checklist with some supporting information.

Gardening bloggers could post a checklist for planting in the spring or getting your garden ready for winter. On the other hand, interior bloggers can create a spring cleaning checklist.

5. Industry news
What do you do when you get up in the morning? You’ll likely grab a tea or coffee and browse the latest news. This is a habit you could include in your daily blogging activities too.

Why not scour various news sources for the latest in your blogging niche or industry. Put together some of the best pieces into a blog post and add your own critique and commentary alongside it.

6. Infographics
Infographics don’t have to be those long professionally made images you see all over Pinterest. An infographic can be an image of any size or shape and about any type of information.

Creating infographics for your blog is an effective way to provide valuable information while encouraging people to share something visually appealing. They could be charts, statistics, step-by-step instructions an even fun facts.

The higher the quality these infographics are, the better. Tools like Canva and Venngage make it especially easy to make your own imagery with their pre-built templates and free icons.

7. Current events
Similar to industry news, writing about current events is even easier. The key benefit of writing about what’s happening now is that people are already searching for more information about events as they happen, making your blog post a prime reading option.

Think of things that interest you and stories that stand out. Maybe they’re controversial, or especially interesting. Cover it in your own way to generate more interest from your readers. Even better, find a topic that already links to your niche.

8. Case studies
Case studies are an excellent way to generate social proof and they’re easy to write too. People love success stories, so writing a case study about someone who has used your product/service or advice to great success, can do wonders for your blog.

Get in touch with your audience and if you sell a product, contact your customer and start a conversation about how they’ve used your product and how it’s improved their life or business. Then include them in a case study published on your blog.

9. Inspirational stories
Why not step away from the same old content and share some good news? Write about a new milestone your blog has reached. Or, share an inspirational story of how you got started in your industry. What happened to get you to the point you’re at today?

People love inspirational stories because it makes them want to experience that success too. This is why stories filled with hope and inspiration do so well on social media.

We’re all striving for something better from our lives – your success story will help your readers to continue to reach for their goals too.

10. Interviews
Interviews are always a good way to drive interest amongst your readers. People are always eager to hear what the people they look up to have to say. Try publishing an interview with an important figure in your blog niche and area of interest.

During the interview, you can discuss important events in your industry, get expert advice and even business insights.

Webmasters / Top 10 Content Marketing Trends For 2019 by soliuwap(m): 3:36pm On Oct 04, 2019
In the world of digital marketing, the importance of content marketing is increasing. The way content marketing campaigns and content strategies are created is changing. Users want interactive content, brands with an authentic and likeable face, and a better user experience.

Videos and podcasts enable users to experience brands in a different way, social media is becoming more and more relevant, and influencer marketing is on the rise. In this article, we list 10 content marketing trends that will dominate this year.

1. Deluxe Long-Form Content
Search engines and readers like to have long content. 2019 is the year of long form content – content with more than 2000 words. Longer texts are more likely to offer your audience well-structured, in-depth, and well-researched texts about a topic, providing more added value from trustworthy sources.

Structure, paragraphs, headings and of course the actual text itself must always be created with your audience in mind: what possible questions could the user have about a topic? You should be able to answer these questions within the text before the user even has to ask them.

As a content marketer or content creator, you goal should be “How can I help the user in the best way?” If you have this question in mind, you will automatically create perfect SEO content. Search engines are getting better at understanding the search intention of a user and are therefore likely to rank longer articles highly. Studies also show that longer articles are shared more frequently on social networks.

In 2018, the internet was flooded with blog articles, social media posts and short articles that could be found in a comparable form on several pages. Now, content marketing strategies should focus on publishing fewer articles, but more regular, better quality articles with well-researched information.

This year, the focus is moving away from texts and more towards video and podcast marketing.

2. Video marketing
Video marketing now has enormous potential. A 2017 report by Animoto shows that 64% of customers made a purchase after watching branded videos on Facebook. According to the survey, three out of four users are influenced by videos on social media when making a purchase decision. Videos are also the most convenient way to get to know a company on the internet.

Branded videos, webinars and influencer channels are so popular on YouTube, because people value authenticity and transparency in a brand. People who speak directly to their viewers in front of the camera establish a relationship and appear more authentic than advertising messages in words and pictures.

By 2021, videos are expected to account for 82% of global internet traffic.

Short informative video clips are the most effective when addressing a new target group on YouTube and Google Search.

3. Podcasts
Podcast marketing is also becoming increasingly popular. Brands can appeal to more users with audio content, bringing the brand name clearly into the consciousness of the target group via advertising in popular podcast series.

However, podcast marketing has certain disadvantages. Listening to a podcast requires more time than watching a short video or reading an article. Most people listen to podcasts whilst doing something else, for example when driving. Podcasts therefore cannot be classified as easily consumable, snackable content. The podcast hype will most likely get off to a slow start, but should not be underestimated.

4. Social Media
Social media marketing is one of the fastest moving channels. The trend is moving away from Facebook towards short-lived audiovisual media such as Instagram and Whatsapp. This is especially the case for younger audiences (16 to 30 year olds) and influencers.

For content to perform well on Instagram, it has to be authentic and personal. Networking and interacting with other accounts is just as important as personal contact. Stories should be told with fast, regular posts. Continuity, playfulness and authenticity are the key elements.

5. Mobile first!
Mobility is “the” trend of our time. Most users use a mobile device to watch videos on the internet, shop, inform themselves and stay in contact with others. According to studies, in three years, smartphones will replace desktop computers as the main way of accessing the internet. Therefore, all content should be implemented on the basis of the “mobile first” idea. Especially in video marketing, all signs point to mobility, because most people watch videos on a tablet or smartphone.

Mobile content has to be compact, funny and original, as well as being authentic enough to quickly convince users. Only then will the user want to take a closer look at the small display. The second step is how to spread the mobile content to other channels.

“UX is king”
2019 is all about meeting the needs of users with different formats, winning their trust and giving the brand a positive image. Above all, content marketing must create one thing: a good user experience. In the future, tangible content will clearly catch up with price and quality as important attributes of a product.

Google, Instagram and Facebook optimize their search engine and newsfeed algorithms every minute to react to user behavior. This means that when your audience interacts with content, the content remains visible for longer. improve the user experience. The way people use the internet is changing. More and more people are using voice search instead of text input. As content marketing managers, you have to adapt to this trend and invest more in suitable audio content. This is especially true for SEO and web search.

Family / How My Husband Gave Me Stds, Attempted To Strangle Me For Denying Him Sex – Wife by soliuwap(m): 5:34pm On Sep 25, 2019
An Ibadan-based school teacher, Fatimo Alimi, on Wednesday begged a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan to dissolve her 22- year-old marriage to her husband, Wasiu.
She told the court that she contracted Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) severally from her husband due to his alleged unfaithfulness.
In her petition before Chief Ademola Odunade, the court’s President, Fatimo also claimed that Wasiu had often attempted to strangle her anytime she denied him sex.
When I discovered that Wasiu was a serial womaniser, I made several attempts to prevail on him to turn a new leaf which failed.
Then, I started developing series of sexual infections, which included offensive odour from my private part, prolonged menstrual cycle and loss of weight among others.
Later, I stopped allowing him to sleep with me and he often beat me up for this reason.
I was hospitalised for days and I knew then that if I continue to stay with him, I might soon die.
Worse still, most of the women he sleeps with are far older than him and often mocked me whenever we meet,” she said.
But the respondent, who opposed the suit, alleged that his wife was involved in an adulterous affair.
In fact, Fatimo’s father is aware of her unholy romance with a man who also visited her when she was hospitalised.
Since 18 years ago, she had complained of the genital problem and I had caught her using certain antibiotics before and she told me that she was just flushing her system.
For the sake of our four children and the fact that both of us might still be of immense benefit to each other, don’t separate us,” Wasiu said.
In his judgment, however, Odunade held that wherever peace was at risk, the law had equipped arbitrators with the power to dissolve a union.
He consequently dissolved the marriage and awarded custody of the four children produced by the union to the plaintiff.
Odunade directed the respondent to pay N16,000 as the children’s monthly feeding allowance in addition to being responsible for their education and other welfare needs, NAN reports.

Crime / Victor Ojionu: Yahoo Boy Who Bought N125m Houses During His NYSC, Confesses by soliuwap(m): 5:14pm On Sep 24, 2019
Man arrested over alleged N500m credit card fraud

A 30-year-old suspected internet fraudster, Victor Ojionu, who specialized in hacking into credits cards belonging to Nigerians and foreign nationals, have been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for stealing over N500 million within the space of five years.

It was gathered that Ojionu, who is currently undergoing interrogation at the Abuja office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was alleged to have succeeded in defrauding his victims using a popular online retail site, Amazon.com, where he allegedly sells books.

Sources disclosed that the Imo State-born suspect, designed a payment portal, known as Payoneer, which he linked to his book-selling website on Amazon.com and he steals credits cards details and identities of its owner using his payment portal.

It was gathered further that when Ojionu succeeds in stealing the credit cards details of his victims, he would proceed in buying baby dippers, wipers, wrist watches and other expensive items from another online retail store, Alibaba.com in China and send the purchased items to Ghana, where they would be sold to his waiting buyers.

A source explained that after the items has been sold, Ojionu would travel to Ghana, retrieve his money from his buyers and would send the proceeds to Nigeria through a Bureau de Change operator. The source added that the suspect has succeeded in buying two expensive cars, three mansions in Abuja, Cross Rivers State and his hometown in Imo from proceeds of his scam. It was also learnt that the suspect has a property under construction at Dabo Estate at Life Camp area of Abuja.

Ojionu ran into trouble recently when one of his victims alerted the police and the EFCC about the theft of his credit card details and the subsequent withdrawals from his accounts, running into millions of naira.

The IRT team was drafted to investigate the case and also arrest and hand over the suspect to the EFCC for onward prosecution. It was learnt that Ojionu was trailed to one of his mansions in Abuja and he confessed during his arrest that he was into internet fraud.

The electrical engineering graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, stated that he became an internet fraudster in 2015, during his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.

“I learned the internet fraud business in 2015 during my NYSC days in Cross Rivers and I bought a house worth N60 million from the deal before I relocated to Abuja, where I bought another house for N65 million. What I do is mainly on Alibaba by trading with hacked credits cards. I buy my goods in China and sell them in Ghana and I bring the proceed to Nigeria where I have invested large portion of it on properties.”

Education / Teachers Embark On Indefinite Strike Over Non-payment Of Minimum Wage by soliuwap(m): 11:43pm On Sep 23, 2019
The Bayelsa Chapter of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) on Monday began on indefinite strike over non-payment of N18,000 minimum wage arrears to members in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Yenagoa on Monday by the Chairman of the Union in the state, Mr Kala-Ama John, and the Secretary, Mr Johnson Hector.
It said that the strike took effect after expiration of 21 days ultimatum given to the state government in July and additional 7 days ultimatum on Sept. 12.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the directive for the strike has grounded activities in both primary and secondary schools in the state who are supposed to resume for the first term on Monday.
According to the statement, the strike became imperative given the state government’s inability to address the grievances over non-payment of N18,000 minimum wage arrears to both secondary and primary schools teachers.
“Also, we are aggrieved over non-payment of backlog of salary arrears ranging from three and half to seven and half months to primary school teachers since 2013.
“We also observed acute shortage of teachers in both primary and secondary schools, non-provision of instructional materials to schools since September 2018 till date and other lingering issues confronting the education system in the state.
“Consequently, the national body of the Nigeria Union of Teachers has filed a trade dispute with Bayelsa government on the Sept. 6, 2019,” he said.
It noted that the notice came with the directive that “until the outstanding salary arrears are paid completely to both secondary and primary schools teachers, they should not resume work as schools re-open on Sept. 23.
“Accordingly, the state wing executive council of the union hereby directs all primary and secondary school teachers in Bayelsa state to stay away from classes with immediate effect from Friday Sept. 20, 2019, until otherwise directed,” it stated.
Effort to get the reaction of the State Commissioner for Education, Mr Jonathan Obuebite, was unsuccessful as he could not be reached for comment at the time of this report.

Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Tacha again on Sunday boasted to fellow housemates about her stay in the reality show.
Tacha, who is one of the most talked-about and criticized housemates in the ‘Pepper Dem’ edition said this after her conversation with Ebuka about her reaction to Diane following the missing box.
We recalls that Tacha rained insults at Diane and accused her of getting drunk after she forgot the red box at the Arena.
But, Cindy speaking to Ebuka on the incident described Tacha’s reaction as ‘senseless and uncalled for.’
However, Tacha after the eviction show told housemates that she would remain in the show till the 99th day no matter the hate and dislike from them.
“I would remain in this house till 99th day whether you like it or not. When you talk about me, you clout.
“I am bigger than the owner of this show, I was blown before big brother.
“If you have a problem with me, tell me and stop gossiping, you all are trending because of me,” Tacha said.

Crime / As Nigerians Sleep, Outlaws Take Over by soliuwap(m): 2:39pm On Sep 20, 2019
Two years ago or slightly less than that period, I penned a lengthy article about the rise and rise of the Nigerian outlaws just as the centerpiece of the reflection was on how the terrorists that most Nigerians know have come to become so influential to an extent that the two men employed and paid with our money by president Muhammadu Buhari as his spokesmen number one and two have suddenly switched allegiance from Nigerian constitution to defend this notorious group known as Miyetti Allah cattle owners association.
This bunch of outlaws purportedly have given themselves the task of always providing media justifications for all the deadly attacks against local landowners and farmers all across Nigeria by armed Fulani herdsmen.
I think the investments in such a large scale that would have been made by the office of the president have managed to deflate media outcry against the activities of the armed Fulani herdsmen. The media no longer give outrageous coverages to the deadly activities of armed Fulani herdsmen.
It would seem that the media investments by the office of the Nigerian president towards cleaning up the image of the umbrella association that supports activities of armed Fulani herdsmen has succeeded in changing the negative narrative to an extent that the media now reports that there are conflicts between farmers and pastoralists when the exact opposite is the case that the armed Fulani herdsmen are the aggressors who have attacked farms in all parts of Nigeria and in some cases like in Plateau and Benue states have reportedly taken over ancestral villages from the owners who have been chased away to wallow in the derelict shanties called internally displaced persons camps. Shocking to the married too is that the media owners who are mostly Southerners have chosen profits through bribes for propaganda in preference to allowing unfettered access of the media by independent views on the violence going on in Nigeria.
Apart from the switch of media narratives to curry bribery induced favours for armed Fulani herdsmen because of the seemingly generous funding of a media propaganda, the central government has for two years sought by hook or crook to force down the throats of other Nigerians the one-sided financial settlement of the Fulani herdsmen in the name of Ruga settlements.
When the government in Abuja found out that outside of the core North West states, Ruga settlements for Fulani herdsmen have been rejected outright in the whole South and North-central, this same government stepped back and has redesigned another clever financial compensation for Fulanis called National livestock transformation plan.
So far, President Buhari has managed to railroad the governors to approve N100 billion towards the implementation of this deceptive financial compensation for Fulani.
National Economic Council met a few hours back and approved a budget of N100 billion for the implementation of the National livestock transformation plan which is the baptismal name of Ruga settlements for Fulani.
The proposal was submitted on Thursday to the National Economic Council by its sub-committee on farmers/herders crisis.
The NEC meeting was presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Mind you the VP has just lost out of the ferocious power play in AdoRock with the stripping of a lot of powers by the cabal.
As we learnt from media reports, the Chairman of the sub-committee and Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr. Dave Umahi, made the presentation to NEC in What is clearly a choreographed plot from above.
Umahi explained that contrary to the widely held belief, the NLTP was not about cows alone but had three planks, including care for persons displaced by farmers/herders’ crisis and education programmes. This is not true. The name of the project for which N100 billion is voted to be used is called NATIONAL LIVESTOCK TRANSFORMATION PLAN. Where then did government mention the farmers victimized by armed Fulani herdsmen? Why this illiterate deception?
Also, we were told that states are free to use any animals of their choice in implementing the programme. Why is government all out for livestock whereas other professional groups including crop farmers are left behind? This is a sinister agenda for Fulani interests and no more.
We refuse to accept this half baked attempt to confuse us clearly seen from what the governor said that the committee proposed that the Federal Government would bear 80 percent of the N100 billion while participating states would support with the balance of N20bn and land for the programme.
He added that the programme remained voluntary and would accommodate only states that expressed participation interest.
However, there is no effective take-off date yet as the proposed N100bn will still be reviewed by the next meeting October before a date is decided. Now here is what the central government and their zombies from the States are hiding.
The hidden fact is that the N100 billion was the same compensation package that the immediate past interior minister General Abdulrahman Dan-Bazau accompanied by the inspector-general of police and other northern Muslims heading all the internal security platforms met some representatives of armed Fulani bandits in Zamfara a few months back just before the last general election and promised them to stop the killings so government can give them this package.
But as soon as information filtered out that there was a plan to bribe armed Fulani bandits as reportedly agreed at a secret meeting in Zamfara, all the major characters who are all Northern Moslems came out to deny. Now the truth has come out even though they cleverly redesigned these bribes to Fulani to look like the beneficiaries are not only Fulani’s as erroneously propagated by Ebonyi state governor after the central government presented the budget proposal.
But Nigerians must not accept to be deceived.
What is at play is a carefully packaged compensations to be paid to armed Fulani herdsmen responsible for mass killings, the type that made global rating agencies to say expertly that armed Fulani herdsmen are the third most dangerous terrorists in the world.
One thing has, however, come out of all the rigmarole by the current central government in its attempts to deceive Nigerians. There is something that looks like a coincidence that the N100 billion budget for the re-baptized Ruga programme for Fulani’s is coming exactly when both some Northern governors and the IGP are all in negotiation with armed Fulani bandits.
Nigerians need to note that what they call armed bandits in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Niger, and other Northern states is not different fundamentally from armed Fulani herdsmen just as Miyetti Allah that has increasingly become influential is the umbrella association for all of these actors within and without government.
There is now a barrage of coordinated media propaganda from a multidimensional arrangement within the central government and its allies to try to confuse Nigerians by seeking to provide any kind of justification for the sickening sessions of dialogues with armed bandits and the settlements for armed Fulani herdsmen known as Ruga but now changed to the so-called National livestock transformation plan which the government will divert Nigeria’s fund totaling N100 billion to execute a discriminatory programme for Fulani’s which offends section 42 of the constitution.
That section states thus: “(1) A citizen of Nigeria of a particular community, ethnic group, place of origin, sex, religion or political opinion shall not, by reason only that he is such a person:- (a) be subjected either expressly by, or in the practical application of, any law in force in Nigeria or any executive or administrative action of the government, to disabilities or restrictions to which citizens of Nigeria of other communities, ethnic groups, places of origin, sex, religions or political opinions are not made subject; or (b) be accorded either expressly by, or in the practical application of, any law in force in Nigeria or any such executive or administrative action, any privilege or advantage that is not accorded to citizens of Nigeria of other communities, ethnic groups, places of origin, sex, religions or political opinions.
(2) No citizen of Nigeria shall be subjected to any disability or deprivation merely by reason of the circumstances of his birth.”

Also, the northern governors and the IGP are engaged in ferocious media spins seeking to justify these illegalities. The inspector-general of police perhaps sounded so crude when he abused, defecates and jettisons the constitution by saying it was right to dialogue with armed bandits who have blood in their hands.
Briefing State House correspondents after a security meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the police boss said dialogue and negotiation were used by the late President Umaru Yar’Adua to address militancy in the Niger Delta, a development which he said resulted in the amnesty programme for repented militants.
He believes that the strategy will also bring out peace and security in the North.
According to Adamu, the security situation in the country has improved since the dialogue started.
He explained that the deployment of kinetic action sometimes does not solve a problem, but negotiation and dialogue.
“When we are talking about peace initiative, there are a lot of things that we take into consideration. You give out something to get something.
“If you remember, some years back, we were having issues in the Niger Delta, which kinetic actions could not solve until amnesty and peace initiative came up.
“So, I think in the strategy to deal with challenges in terms of either security or war, there is peaceful negotiation. It is not that you are a bandit and on the course of the banditry you committed crime you must be punished when there is peace initiative going on. If you refused to accept the peace initiative, of course, you have to face the consequences,” he said.
On why he likened Niger Delta militancy with the killings by bandits in the North West, he said, “It is not a comparison per se, but an example of how negotiation and dialogue can bring peace.
“Even in terms of war, you go into dialogue to achieve a certain level of peace. So, if dialogue can bring peace, why do you have to use force? That is what I am trying to say.”
But let me tell the IGP the home truth that armed bandits are criminals and mass murderers and not freedom fighters. If I may ask this IGP, what CAUSE are the armed Fulani bandits and kidnappers fighting for that they now have killed hundreds of innocent people in those states? This is the darkest period of our national life. But I hope that Nigerians will wake up and retake their nation before we are all enslaved.

Education / We Did Not Approve Banner With MC Oluomo’s Photo — UNILAG by soliuwap(m): 1:35pm On Sep 20, 2019
The University of Lagos, Akoka, has said it did not approve the banner which had the Caretaker Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos State, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, as one of the invited guests for a programme on the campus.
The varsity management, in a statement on Friday, dismissed the reactions trailing the invitation on the social media as mere propaganda.
The University of Lagos had been attacked on the social media on Thursday for inviting the transport union leader to the campus.
On Twitter, in particular, many had wondered why MC Oluomo was honoured with an invitation when a former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, was barred from addressing students when he was invited for a similar gathering a few weeks earlier.
The UNILAG Principal Assistant Registrar, Communication Unit, Mrs Taiwo Oloyede, confirmed that the event was organised by students in the Geography Department of the school and that it held on Tuesday.
She said, “The management of the University of Lagos hereby notifies parents, guardians and other stakeholders of the university that it is aware of the event to which the Lagos State Caretaker Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, was allegedly invited.
“The event was a colloquium on ‘Transport Efficiency: Employing Lagos Terrain Alternatives.’ organised by the National Association of Geography Students (NAGS) on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
“Relevant stakeholders in the transport sector invited to the event were: Arc. Abiodun Dabiri, MD, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA); Engr. Ibrahim Alhassan, Chairman, Nigerian Railway Corporation; Dr. Olusegun Spencer, Director, Amalgamated Mega-City Transport; Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, MD, Lagos Waterways Authority; Dr. Adewale Sanni, Station Manager, Lufthansa and Dr. Charles Asenime, LASU School of Transport, PG Coordinator.
“Although Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) was one of those to be invited, which informed the draft banner with his picture, currently trending on social media; the approved banner did not have Alhaji Akinsanya as an invited guest, neither did he attend the event.
“For the record, events are organised on campus to expose students to current trends in the academia and industries. During such events, experts and relevant stakeholders with considerable knowledge and experience on the theme of such activities are carefully selected and invited to come and share their thoughts with our students. The goal is to produce students that are locally relevant and globally competitive.
“Therefore, the general public is enjoined to disregard any propaganda making the rounds on social media about the propriety of inviting a particular guest or not.”

Politics / Xenophobic Attacks Unchristian, Wicked, Says Ositelu by soliuwap(m): 7:33am On Sep 08, 2019
The Primate of the Church of the Lord, Aladura, Dr Rufus Ositelu, on Saturday said the xenophobic attack on Nigerians and other African nationals in South Africa was “unchristian and wicked.”
In a statement issued on Saturday, the primate called on the council of churches in South Africa to publicly condemn the act, adding that xenophobia was clearly against the scriptures.
He said, “This is the time for the council of churches in South Africa to come out publicly and strongly to speak truth to power in South Africa. What is going on in South Africa right now is unchristian, wicked and clearly against the scriptures and position of Jesus Christ on how to treat strangers in our midst.
The Bible says, ‘Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares (Heb. 13:2).’ Thus says the Lord, ‘Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor those who have been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident strangers, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place (Jer. 22:3).
“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him/her wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him/her as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt (where you fled to during apartheid).”
Ositelu said the South African Government was not doing enough to check xenophobic attacks.
The primate stated, “This is just to mention a few. The time is now to speak truth to power and let the South African government know that it is not doing enough against xenophobia in South Africa.
May God grant the government of South Africa the knowledge and wisdom to do what is right under the present situation of hate against strangers in South Africa through Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.
May God comfort all those affected and grant the families of the bereaved the fortitude to bear the great loss. And may God change the heart of the wicked souls in South Africa and all other places where there is destruction of innocent souls and their properties in Jesus name.”
